After a very long day moving our Duck in and a lot of shopping for everything we forget or found that we needed Cheba Hut was just what the doctor ordered. Everything was awesome! The food, the customer service and the ambiance all couldn't be beat. Unfortunately no locations close to us or we would be regulars! Seriously the best sandwiches we've ever had. We moved to Eugene in October, so I've been doing a lot of research to find good places to eat. I've seen quite a few people post good things and so far we've tried the La Canna (Italian), the Pakalolo (Ham, Swiss, Pineapple), and the KGB (Roast Beef, Horseradish). the Sensi Kush (BLT), and the Pacific Blue (Tuna Melt). Every single one has been delicious!! I mean, ridiculous. We can't figure out how they can make a normal sandwich taste that good. I came in here earlier with a group of six, at the recommendation of a friend in the group. I'd never been here before, but I've heard of it and driven by a million times. Just never gave it a second thought. One friend called to see if they were open. Props to them being open on New Year's Day, when nothing else was. One friend has a gluten allergy and another is vegan. So they were asking questions about this on the phone. The employee who answered actually took the time to give them recommendations and was helpful. We went in and all ordered. The employees were again great in person as well as over the phone. It was pretty obvious when most of us ordered that we had never been there before, and they were super patient with us asking questions. They made a mistake in putting cheese on the vegan sandwich and were more than happy to own it and fix it. The cashier simply forgot to note the vegan aspect, so they sprinkled Parmesan cheese on top. I'm not one to care about mistakes being made. Nobody is perfect. It's how they handle it that I care about, and these guys were amazing. The food was really tasty. I ordered the smallest sandwich there, but after eating it, I could have easily eaten the middle size. It was that good. I'd definitely come back. I love the garlic bread. The restaurant has a dive bar feel to it, but it was fun too. Very relaxed atmosphere to hang out with friends, which is exactly what we did. The wall art is interesting. They have a painting with Simpsons characters, Pokémon, and so much more. Even with the dive bar feel, it was really clean. This surprised me, but in a good way. The first time someone recommends a place, I'm always hesitant until I learn their food preferences. We all have those friends who give good recommendations and those you just steer very clear of. In this case, I'm really glad we took this recommendation and came in here. Would I return? Yes! Totally yes. They have great food, excellent customer service, and a fun atmosphere to enjoy some good food with friends. I'm looking forward to going back. read more

I dined with three other people, each ordering a different sandwich, and all were pleased with their food. The "pretzel nugs" are essentially small pretzel pieces, and you'll definitely want to partake in the sauce because it's what makes the dish (though I might argue that the pretzel nugs would be better priced at $4 instead of $5). You can also order Kool-Aid - I'm not joking - so prepare to get in a time machine to your youth for some technicolor sugar-water. At $2.50 per refillable cup, the price is quite steep, but if you approach it like you're only going to touch the stuff once a decade, then no worries. 'Cause let's be honest, you don't need to be drinking the Kool-Aid more often than that! Service was friendly, and the cashier with the multi-colored hair made me crack up a couple of times with her wit. But let me leave you with a gripe: the music they were playing was super-heavy on the mf-ers and the n-word. I mean, constantly. Not sure what the point of ordering online is if they don't start the food until you get there. Once I got the sandwich, it was pretty good! The veggies seemed fresh and I like the crunchy bread. Awesome local sandwich shop. Can be a line sometimes but they are quick and worth the wait. Both the outside and inside of the building are uniquely decorated. Inside has a pot theme. They advertise the White Widow sandwich (chicken breast with their signature ranch sauce) but I saw my favorite combination of turkey and roast beef (The G-13) and had to get it. Three sizes available. The Nug (4"), the Pinner (8"), and the Blunt (13"). Outdoor seating (not covered) for the rare non-rainy day in Oregon. My Blunt sized sandwich was very good. It came loaded with lettuce, tomato, pickle spear, chipotle mayo, bacon and provolone. The bread is locally made and you have a choice of white, wheat or sourdough. If I lived in Eugene, this would be my favorite sandwich place. I highly recommend this place and love supporting the small businesses. Give it a try! read more

Cute kitschy ganja theme. All food names, sizes, etc reference marijuana culture in some way. Very pro pot, feeding the munchies vibe. The food is so good, even if the service is variable. Mostly friendly staff, but often orders are wrong or simply missing. (Not surprising ‍). They'll fix it though which is the main thing. The sandwiches are really good! I usually order the kali mist on wheat and most sandwiches I can take or leave the bread- but this bread is scrumptious and I eat it all! This is the best place to get a sandwich I've ever visited! Ever! The mushroom one is amazing! Add honey mustard. I love the greifo it's the best vegetarian sandwich I've ever eaten! Ever! Today was my first visit to Cheba Hut. I ordered the Midwest Best minus the veggies. On it there was bacon, ham, turkey, and provolone cheese, and I got it on garlic and herb bread. The bread was so good that it adds an extra star. It was super soft and fresh. Yep you know it says the "best bread in the business" on the wall and I agree with that. I got blue Kool-Aid... it was very KOOL and for my chips I got garden salsa sun-chips, which by the way are amazing, you should try them. I got to try the munchy bar for desert. We had the Coco Crispy munchy bar and I loved it! It was super fresh and not stale. But the best part is it's so chocolatey and I'm one of those people who are so obsessed with chocolate... guilty face. As far as the decor I love it! I like the way that it's decorated in here. I like all of the paintings and art work and I love all the stickers especially, the Adidas one. I got to choose my own sign for our table and you got to choose from a lot of different cartoons and movies. I chose Rick and Morty because Stormy LOVES Rick and Morty. and Harper choose Scooby Doo. Cheba Hut is ok. I've been wanting to try it for a while, and heard the meatball subs were the best in town. It was decent, and it traveled well, but it wasn't worth the hype I'd heard. I like that they add the bell pepper and mushroom, but there wasn't much of either- I think I had three small strips of bell pepper on the whole sub. The meatballs also didn't cover the whole sub, and it could've used a little more sauce. The bread was pretty good though, and the meatballs tasted good. Definitely above Subway, and it had a ton of melted cheese. It probably would have been better hot and fresh, rather than eaten after delivery. They had lots of options, so I will probably try it again because it had the potential to be really good. read more
