I don't drink Bubble Tea because it contains milk, but I do realize this place has a huge menu on the wall with different varieties. It can be overwhelming to some people, I understand. However, Vietnamese folks wouldn't mind this chaos. I come here primary for the Nuoc Sam Mat (Herbal Drink), Flan, and Vietnamese Yogurt. Again, I am not a sweet-tooth person, so I don't care much for Che (Vietnamese Desserts). But I do see there're a good selection of Che cups in the refrigerator. I tried Che Chuoi (Banana Dessert), and it has 2 slices of banana in there with taro and tapioca. It tastes just like banana and taro! I will continue to buy Nuoc Sam Mat until I can get the recipe from my mother on how to make the drink because $2 per drink can add up quickly. The Vietnamese Yogurt tastes delicious, and the texture is not too watery and not too thick. I'll not have to travel all the way down to Thanh Son Tofu Deli for the yogurt. I can just buy the yogurt from Che Dessert Lounge as the starters for my home-made yogurt. :-) read more

In 1991 I spent a month in Saigon. My husband and I recently moved to this neighborhood and in exploring found this little gem! Ordered Pork bahn mi and F20 - Obama noodle salad. Carried our fragrant packages home to find THE BEST Saigon flavors and ingredients that I have tasted since I left Saigon. This is absolutely the REAL deal. Haven't come across anything that comes close in 30 years. The freshness was astounding and I could feel it as I chewed my foods. Authentic and beyond. I must also point out that the restaurant itself was one of the cleanest places I've ever been - that's for us Americans. But a seriously nice touch. Perfection. I will be a frequent visitor to this place for as long as I live in Seattle. If you want the real thing this is really it!!! read more

Great place for all kinds of Vietnamese desserts. For the uninitiated, and for those who don't speak Vietnamese, the menu can be intimidating and overwhelming, even with the English menu. There are so many kinds of dessert drinks. Fortunately most of it is on semi-display. That is, you can see the partially filled ingredients (before they put in the syrup / ice / coconut milk) so you can point to what you want. I got the che 5 mau, which is I think 5-color dessert. I usually see che 3 mau, so this one has more goodies in it. It had yellow/mung bean, red bean, pandan jelly, coconut and some kind of small mochi balls. It was very yummy, not too thick and not too sweet. They also have savory stuff like noodle soup so you could make it a one stop shop for lunch/dinner and dessert. It's a casual place - you order at the counter and then seat yourself. Parking can be tight around that plaza. I'll definitely be back to try the other desserts. read more

This shop is a lot smaller than I expected. There are a few small tables but it looks like most people just grab and go. The choices are overwhelming! Their display of desserts look nice but I wonder how fresh the Che is; the case is full of prepackaged cups. They also have a lunch/dinner menu but we decided to try the combo tofu dessert and sam bo luong. It tasted fine but it's a little pricey. read more

Che is a brand new cafe that offers traditional Vietnamese desserts, fresh fruit drinks, coffee, and a variety of baked goods. I was excited because I love Bambu (so many jelly choices!) and I thought Che would be similar, but it isn't. I am actually not a fan of the traditional desserts that have tons of beans, so most of the displayed desserts labeled in Vietnamese are not terribly appealing to me. I tried one that looked like it had red azuki beans, which I love, but they were actually kidney beans. x_x I am giving major props to the owner--after chatting with him one afternoon, it was apparent that he cares a lot about quality products and quality ingredients. He said he handpicks each durian, and that he taste tested several types of condensed milk from around the world for their Vietnamese coffee. Is that dedication or what? My hubby likes the durian smoothie, which I admit was really tasty, smooth, and clean tasting. I got a green smoothie, which was steep for $7(!), but it was delicious. I don't think I would ingest that much fiber all at once ever again, but glad I tried it! ;) I like their little cake samples too --my fave is the banana cake. With options such as coconut flan, corn milk, and the macarons shipped from France, there is still plenty for me to try at Che! read more

Grab and go kind of place for dessert. I believe they also serve savory vietnamese food. They claim that their macarons are flown in from France daily but I can't attest to how fresh that would be? I've tried a couple desserts here both which I have no idea what it'd be called in english but I'll give you the description instead. One was a pandan jelly with mung bean drink and another was a coconut jello dessert in a coconut. Both were quite unique and tastes pretty authentic to Vietnamese cuisine. Prices aren't too shabby but could be better. Worth checking out. read more

I FINALLY got to try this place out after having it bookmarked for awhile. I have a friend who lives nearby, so we thought we'd check it out after Dim Sum. The place is really small (only four or five tables if I remember correctly). Upon entering, to your left, you will see a giant dessert menu consisting of both hot and cold desserts! The menu was overwhelming, because it was written in Vietnamese then the English translation underneath. I am not Vietnamese, and neither is my friend, so we didn't have a clue on what to get. We ended up going on Yelp and looking at the pictures! I ended up getting the Che 5 Mau because I thought it looked the prettiest on Yelp :P The salted nuts threw me off though, I didn't like that part. But the shredded jellies were perfect--there were a lot and were finely shredded! It felt good sucking them babies up through the straw--nothing got stuck! The drinks here are also pre-made. My friend wanted: no beans, lots of jelly, and no tapioca.. Unfortunately, he too, had to refer to Yelp pictures since they can't specifically make him that. I'll definitely come back though, I'm curious to see what other mixed drinks they offer! read more

My sissy and mommy wanted to try this place out because it was something new to the area. Upon arrival, my mom pointed to these cute square desserts that listed $6 for and happily got them. The macarons is also $6 my sister really enjoyed them. We came to the register and the nice gentlemen told us that they're pricey because they're imported from Paris. Immediately, we all went "ahhHhh....". My mother isn't typically a sweet person and she enjoyed them very much. I tried the pistachio macarons and they were good not overwhelmingly sweet. All in all, we decided that it was a good buy and we all enjoyed it. I have yet to try their Che but will be back! read more

This is a competitor to Bambu with various types of che (Vietnamese dessert). I ended up getting the Che Ma Lai (malaysian che) which comes with a fresh dollop of durian (they ask before they put it in the che), topped with peanuts, comes with cendol, peanuts, tapioca and coconut milk. They also have various types of macarons so I got the durian and the taro one. The durian macaron tasted slightly of durian but more of jackfruit. The taro was flat in shape and did have a slight taro flavor, but not enough to make it outstanding, only meh. read more

I don't think it's as good as bambu. And it's pricier for sure. The drinks were just ok, nothing special, and the the texture was more on the liquid side. I got the peanut butter slam and the banh lot dau xanh. The peanut butter slam was decent, however, it's not as thick as I want it. and the Che was not sweet and bland. $11 for both is pricy for me for Vietnamese dessert. I guess I would I come back if I really have cravings and can't go home or bambu read more

Ok, I haven't tried that many Vietnamese dessert places in Seattle but this is definitely my favorite so far. Brings back childhood memories of when I grew up in Vietnam. At a glance, it is a little pricey, but the portions are big. Their che thai (mixed fruit in coconut milk, with durian and peanuts *you can opt out of this but don't!!*) was delicious and their nuoc rau ma dau xanh (pennywort drink with mung beans) is just like the ones in Vietnam. You can tell they were made fresh and with care. Haven't had a chance to try their food yet. The owner (I'm assuming) is also the cashier and a super friendly and chatty guy. Will be coming as often as I can when visiting Seattle! read more

I usually come to Othello Station to do grocery shopping and errands for my mom and I saw this spot open up not long ago, but never had a chance to give them a try until recently. They have awesome desserts and main dishes. They've some original creations like the sweet and savory muffin with salted egg yolk, flossed pork, and chinese sausage on top. It's so yummy. Other typical fares represent its name - che (3, 7 color, malaysian style and others). I'm always a sucker for Sinh To Bo (avocado smoothie), and they serve it HUGE. They even garnish it with fresh avocados on top. If you're craving some Vietnamese sweets, desserts, or a meal - I highly recommend. It also looks to be a family-owned and operated joint. And it's always a good thing to support local! read more

Located near Othello station, this hidden gem was found via good yelp reviews! Amongst supermarkets, karoke joints, and a seafood market, this doesn't stand out. I ordered the standard three colored dessert: Chè Ba Màu, didn't expect much, but it was huge! The quantity surprised me for the price it wasn't over $5 ! Worth the detour! read more

The beef stew is fantastic, very surprising for a dessert place. So much beef, so tender, with solid flavors. It's something you definitely want to get on a cold, rainy night. This is smoothie heaven! The owner is nice, the drinks are delicious and best of all super affordable. I ordered the mango smoothie, green tea macha latte, and tofu dessert. everything was amazing I will definitely come back :) I have not tried the food yet but looks like a lot of vietnamese people were ordering it. read more

My wife loves their 3 color bean dessert. What we love about this place is their cleanliness. They also served real food as well, which my wife thought it was decent. Customer service is a hit or miss. Usually the old lady makes mistakes on our order with no peanuts. Today I ask if they use real fruit for their smoothies, they said yes, but when I took the first sip, I knew they use flavor for their blended drinks and all they do was add fresh mango on top. $5.50 for fake smoothie drinks, no thanks. You're better off going to Tammy's next door. read more

I was pleasantly surprised to find that the food here at a dessert lounge was really delicious as well. I had the banh canh and the antioxidant smoothie. The banh canh was the real star; it reminded me of how my mom makes it. The atmosphere is intimate, low-key, and casual. Peter at the counter is very friendly and constantly greeting folks who come and go. There's a sense of community and the 2000's RnB playing was nostalgic and poppin'. This place is a hidden gem!! As far as a dessert spot is concerned, this place is the best you can get in Seattle. Everything tastes fresh, clean, and delicious. You can tell that they don't cut corners or skimp on quality. The #44 is my go to. The layered Coconut Jello and Sticky Rice are also pretty incredible. In addition, the owners are amazing. They go out of there way to recommend menu items based on your preferences. The menu is pretty intimidating if you aren't familiar with Asian desserts, so if you tell them what you're into, they will hook you up! This place is incredible! Do yourself a favor and go right now! read more

Walked in here for the first time and thought they were just another deli that we didn't need in the area. I admit I was 100% wrong. This place is a restaurant with a loaded menu with all types of Vietnamese desserts, drinks, and food. I only came back here because I heard from my sister that this place is really good. And Im really glad I did. First off, the assortment on the menu is amazing, but a bit scary. Often times when a place does such a vast variety of items, its up to luck to determine whether your meal will be decent or not. But not this place, everything is at-least good and above. I've had the the Bun Bo Hue, Fishball Curry, Hu Tieu Tap Cam (combination noodle soup), Che Ba Mau and the the milk tea. The Bun Bo Hue is good. Nice and spicy. Could use a bit more depth of flavor to the soup, but very very satisfactory. The curry is a deal at 6 dollars. Its a perfect dish to share, but make sure you order extra bread. My mom enjoyed the Hu Tieu, so I guess thats a plus. Would recommend to stay away from the milk tea here if youre a milk tea enthusiast or whatever. Vietnamese milk tea (real watery with nearly no tea flavor) isn't that good, but I grew up with it and it reminds me of my childhood so I order it sometimes :D. read more

Pro: Awesome Sam bo luong! Winter melon drink excellent! Fresh avocado smoothie very good better than Tammy deli. They use two whole avocado instead of half or only 1 avocado and it's not too sweet either. Worth the price! Durien smoothie was awesome. Hao cao shrimp dumpling 4 for $3 love it! Pandan mini sponge cake omg to die for I'm addicted to these. Not overly sweet very moist and easy to eat. Awesome jelly in coconut. Love their three color jelly, pandan, coconut, coffee. Con: the pandan is bitter. Owner said, Natural pandan leaf is bitter. I'll still eat it since it's very fresh. Just bitter.... the other two coconut and coffee perfect! Love the new flan with coco milk combo in coconut! I didn't like just flan (old version) in coconut idea was good but flan is too sweet for my taste. Flan itself was yummy it wasn't overly sweet just perfect. Smaller than tammys but taste better! Che dau trang is excellent. so so: Their coconut jelly in plastic cups are ok, not the same as the one in the real coconut they taste different. You get what you pay for. The coconut jelly in plastic cups I can make at home I'll skip it. This one is smaller size than Tammy but taste a little more better. Che 5 Mau average had better. Cream puff was ok had better, however it was better than Tammy cream puff. Che thuong was ok would I eat it again sure why not, do I must have it every time I come here not really. Che taro green color is good however the taro mixed Is better. Taro with tapioca is yummy! Che banana is good. Che buap corn milk was awesome! The issue is freshness. Yesterday I bought two of them at $6 a cup without sugar I like to add my own or without any sugar. Husband tried it he said it taste a bit sour. I said I just bought it. I bought it in the early morning which means it was made the day before? Then I tried it was slightly sour. With sugar it still was slightly sour. I will speak with the owner about this since I am a reg customer who always buy corn milk and these will upset my stomach since I don't want to pour $12 down the drain. Cons: Bun Cha Ha Noi Obama Noodles i simply didn't like it. Sugar cane drink weak not the same quality as fire and ice in kent. The yogurt I didn't like overly artificially too sweet, I prefer tony yogurt. I bought two of them, the first one as described, the second one I ate on the next day. The top layer sort of turned into cheese I have never seen yogurt like this. I think it has gone bad so to add to their fake taste, not even fresh! You want to avoid buying yogurt here, go next door to Tammy you'll at least have better luck. What type of yogurt spoils in two days? Not cool. Update: spoke to owner about this she gifted me 2 as a replacement! So speak to owner directly if there is any issue. She is very understanding. I tried their new colorful flowers besides looking cool, it's full of sugar no real flavor to it. I wouldn't buy it again. bun bo hue the worst $8 I spent. Nothing like I have ever had. It is not authentic too much lemon grass. The meats was tough. It doesn't even come with any of the traditional meats in the dish. The soup base was not flavored correctly. The only part I ate was the soft noodles just was fine. Sum it up average and expensive their wide variety of choices in Che makes it better than Tammy. However it's not better than Kent Bambu dessert which is tons of choices as well as better prices. And much more fresh! read more

I eat here every week. Phá lu is my favorite (available in stir fried style and soup style, can be eaten with baguette bread or with nood and chè thái is bomb af. Check them out when you have a chance to visit. The spicy level for food ranges from level 1-5 fyi. read more

The cheesecake bites were not as flavorful as I would have liked, along with the vanilla ice cream, but I have a crazy sweet tooth so I recommend this one for those who like milder desserts that are not too sweet. The mixed berry bingsu was my fave! The berries were fresh but the best part was the ice cream! Super flavorful and I loved the fruit syrup too. For both, the bingsu itself is very light in flavor and texture. It melts in your mouth and pairs well with the toppings, especially that sweetened condensed milk. I hope to come back to try other items soon!!

The crème brûlée was warmed and freshly caramelized on top. This is not made in advance and just refrigerated which seems to be more common these days. The hot chocolate hit the spot! Options for no -dairy alternatives were offered which I almost forgot to ask. Liked the atmosphere, spacious and high ceilings. The staff was very friendly and nice. They had a rush when they opened and didn't seem unusual for them. The candied orange was a nice touch.
