Also had the sugarcane juice with calamansi and crystal boba. However, I asked for less ice and had to pay extra $1 for it, ridiculous! The bad.... We went to the restroom and discovered the faucet did not have water at all, even more, discovered after I put soap on my hands! I told the counter person about it and he did not know what to do nor was not even alarmed. That store should not open if they did not have water in the sink of the restroom. This is a Vietnamese restaurant, with a not so memorable name but certainly with a good concept. It's inside the Great Wall building that houses the Asian grocery Ranch 99 in Kent. It has a nice ordering counter with a nice, large menu board---complete with colorful pictures. Its emphasis is street food and their menu reflects that. It's a nice niche to fill, instead of the traditional pho places. Behind the counter is a nice room filled with low tables and chairs, which nicely mimics the restaurants one find in Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh. The murals , green shutters and colorful hanging lamps add to the ambiance of being in Vietnam. I wish they'd clear the equipment they're storing on the side of the ordering counter. It is clearly an eyesore. We ordered the steamed Banh Beo. They were good. The Cha Giò (fried spring rolls) were great, as well. The Grilled Chicken Knees were super good, especially the sauce. But that item was clearly too expensive for serving a chicken part that is easily thrown out by a butcher! They don't give you enough. Maybe it should be put in appetizer section. Or maybe serve it needs to be served with some rice! The food is served on flat baskets and small attractive little chinaware---nice touch, very authentic looking . They also served sugar cane juice and other tropical smoothie drinks, with boba. Wished they' had the employees at least check on the diners and ask how we liked the food. Also, don't mind bussing our plates, but the station felt cramped. Again, I understand that it's not a full service restaurant, but a few extra service touches can enhance the experience for a good concept that they seem to have here. The other thing that bothered us is that there was no water coming out of the faucet in their one lone restroom. One would think that, that would be in any restaurant's checklist before they open. The seating and decorations inside truly welcome you to the Vietnamese culture, and it's beautiful. My sister and I ate at Mama Dough and needed something sweet to drink. She got the Dragonfruit Strawberry Sugar Cane and I got the Ube Matcha. The Dragonfruit one was tasty! It wasn't too sweet and was pretty refreshing. I enjoyed my Ube Matcha, it was creamy with the ube cold foam and the matcha was really good. The staff are friendly. The drinks came out fairly quickly (although it's a popular spot so I can't speak for when they are busier, usually there's a lot of people but we went mid day on a Thursday). You can also watch them juice the sugar cane right there (they go through A LOT of sugar cane). There aren't any tables or anything, just massage chairs in the common area, and a couple benches scattered around the mall. I always swing by when I'm in the area. I'm more than likely making it a tradition to get Mia after eating at Mama Dough. read more

First time stopping by here. I ordered passion fruit cane sugar tea. They make their own cane sugar. One person pushes the sugar cane through the machine and it squeezes the juice. The sugar cane rinds goes into a big container. Pretty fun to watch it happen. The sugar cane gets added to all the drinks. They even sell Vietnamese food here. The passion fruit cane drink was cold and refreshing. Especially on a hot summer day. It's naturally sweet. I haven't seen much of any sugar cane shop. This is something to try out. Chili Garlic Chicken Wings: not spicy at all, so don't let that deter you if you don't normally eat spicy foods. Really good flavor and crispy crunchy when you bite into it! Spring Rolls: these rolls are plump! Great ratio of veggies to noodles, and the dipping sauce is great! Tofu and Pork Tray: LOVED this one! I haven't had their food so can't comment on that. But this has consistently been my favorite place to get sugarcane juice. I usually get the Kumquat Cane. Doesn't taste super sweet like other places where I can taste the added sugar and it ruins the natural flavor of sugarcane. About half the cup is full of ice if you get the standard order. And you can adjust the ice level with an additional $1-2. Usually drinks are made pretty quickly. Self service seating: bus your own tables and they have cleaning spray and towels to wipe down tables as well. read more

We stopped in around noon and were the first to order - perfect timing, because right after that it got busy. The seating and overall vibe are so fun and honestly made me feel like I was back in Vietnam. We ordered a few drinks: the egg cream coffee was strong but really well-balanced, the kumquat sugarcane juice was super refreshing, and the avocado smoothie was incredibly creamy. For food, everything hit. The wings were packed with flavor and came with six per order. The bánh khọt were cooked perfectly - crispy on the outside but still tender, and they definitely don't skimp on the veggies. The spring rolls were wrapped beautifully and super fresh - you really can't go wrong there. The peanut sauce was top tier too. Pro tip: add a little Chin-Su to the sauce for an extra kick. The sugarcane juice is terrific here, you can get it plain or in different fruit flavors. Considering it's pressed from the cane directly it's very sweet and you can't adjust the sugar level like you can with milk tea. However it's so refreshing and slightly grassy which adds a subtle mellowness that feels different than drinking pure sugar dissolved in water. Prices for drinks, slushies and desserts range from $5.25-7.95, with most sugar cane drinks running about $6.75. NOTE: they charge $1 for half ice and $2 for no ice. Food items are between $7.50-14.95. I haven't tried the food here yet though can recommend the drinks. They take cash and card. They have a seating area adjacent to the ordering counter that seats about 25, though most customers order drinks to go. Weird taste and smell in spring roll dipping sauce that smelled like durian (iykyk - but not a great add for spring rolls imo). Papaya salad ... lacking any of the usual ingredients, and what in the world type of sweetened soy sauce did they give me? Not the usual fish sauce and no lime. Doesn't taste anything like usual papaya salad. If you like only sweetened soy sauce with your grated papaya then go for it. It's one of my all-time favourite beverages, and Mia and More is usually consistent with their drinks. I just come here for their chả cốm (young green rice meat patties). This is a delicious savory dish that my whole family loves. Green rice flakes are mixed with ground pork and cooked till golden brown. The texture is slightly chewier than your average sausage. Served with fresh herbs, cucumber. They don't come with any carbohydrate, but I strongly recommend eating them with noodles (which you must procure yourself). Two portions easily serves my family of four adults, though we admittedly have less-than-standard-American appetites. Service is fast and polite. This place is inside the Great Wall Shopping Mall in Kent, and is one of the first dessert places you see assuming you enter through the main entrance of the building. Very colorful inside with a good amount of low-height seating if you plan on getting their desserts and/or Vietnamese street food to dine in. Desserts range from fruit smoothies, che, coconut-based drinks and sugarcane drinks. You can see some of the workers even shredding sugar cane stalks through a machine near the register! Desserts come out very quickly and the lines here get long-ish during peak hours, especially on weekends. The workers here are very friendly and patient. Instead of their more well-known sugar cane drinks (which I've had before), I got the durian combo dessert, which was listed under the che section on their menu. It had beans, jelly and coconut milk along with several big pieces of durian on top of the whole thing. Very nice blend of everything, and it wasn't too big either so it was easier to finish off. My mom got their three beans dessert which was just as good when I had a spoon of it. What was interesting was that you get charged extra if you want either half ice or no ice on your drinks. Fortunately, I was all right with standard ice on both drinks. Given it's the first thing you see when you come in, I'm pretty much tempted to get something here every time I walk by it! read more

There is seating but note it is very low (might be difficult for some) but nicely decorated (though getting somewhat worn at this point). Counter service only--efficient but not so friendly. (The person prepping the food was very nice.) We got fresh spring rolls. They were fresh but they were supposed to have shrimp and pork. The "pork" was some kind of pork loaf stuff--sort of like bread, not bad but not pork. I enjoyed my brown sugar milk tea with very nice chewy boba but my friend did not enjoy her taro smoothie. I went there to purchase a three bean dessert and a Vietnamese coffee at around noon. I was drinking the three bean dessert while I was driving home. After a couple sips, I felt like something about my digestive system is not right. When I got home, I throw up for 2 hours straight. I didn't eat anything along with it or before it. Tried this place again today. I was greeted right away. I ordered a traditional cane juice with ice, razor clams in oil onion sauce, and blood sausage. The traditional cane juice was super sweet but tasty. The razor clams tasted good with the peanuts and oil onion sauce, but it was grainy like it wasn't cleaned. It was very displeasing. The blood sausage tasted good, but it was very dry. The shrimp sauce was very tasty. The herbs were somewhat fresh but some of the cilantro was yellow. Overall I'm not sure I'd come back here bc of the food quality. The taste was kind of there but not the kind of street food I'm used to in Vietnam. read more

This is a review based mostly on the Nuoc Mia/Sugarcane juice alone because that is the only thing I come here for! I usually always get the kumquat cane with regular ice because let's be real I'm too broke to pay $1-2 more for less ice. It is about $6.25 for a cup (one size) which isn't too bad because it is pure sugarcane. I love seeing the cane being pushed through the machine! I have also tried to coconut cane but I think coconut overpowers the sugarcane taste so stick with kumquat! Trust! It is super refreshing and the kumquat adds a little citrusy vibrant flavor and does not take away from the sugarcane.
