We had a large family dinner here on Saturday afternoon. When we arrived the hosts took us to the room where our tables were set up. Because of the size of our group we had 2 servers assigned to each side of the table and another server taking care of getting the drink orders delivered. The organization and professionalism was on point. For drinks our entire party stuck with sweet tea, soft drinks and water. For meals we ordered baby back ribs, catfish platters, pork chops and chicken. For my sides I subbed the French fries and coleslaw for sweet glazed carrots and fried okra. It was fantastic! We dined at Charlestons last night for the first time ever. It was a fantastic experience! It was during the busy dinner rush, but our waitress was extremely proficient in her duties. She took really good care of us from start to finish. In fact, she was one of the best servers that I have ever delt with in my entire life. My hats off to the training and experience that the young lady has received. The food was excellent. I had the baby back ribs with fries and beans. I had a house salad to start the dinner off with. The restaurant is very clean and orderly, and the bathrooms were very clean too. There is plenty of parking at this location, so that's not an issue. Overall, this was one of the best dining experiences that I have ever had. If I could give the restaurant 6 stars I would. I highly recommend this outstanding restaurant for a nice dinner. read more

I've now been here 2 times. The wait staff has been extremely kind & helpful with super gluten free choices. We like to sit in the bar area wherever we go because it seems they always know about gluten free. We went in about 45 min before they closed the last time and we were able to order, eat, pay and leave before they closed. Now on to tastiness ....We ordered the Shrimp Cargot as an appetizer and WHOA BABY that stuff is beyond delicious! I thought it would be good but it was quite the pleasing surprise. (It is on the GF menu.). I ordered the Roasted Chicken the first time and the Chicken Piccata the 2nd time. Both have great flavor. When I ordered the Piccata I ordered with spaghetti squash. I will probably order with mashed potatoes next time like other GFers have done. I didn't have any kind of reaction AND it's delicious. Double win! P.S. Bless their hearts! Being from Charleston, my expectations were low but this place did not disappoint! I had the Walt's salad and it was one of my all time favorites. I opted for blackened chicken instead of the shredded chicken that it comes with. The combination of the fresh strawberries and pineapple with feta and candied pecans paired well with the creamy champagne dressing. My boyfriend had the burger and a loaded baked potato. My last to go order, the service was sub par. The food is always consistently good. However, the two young men who I dealt with, refused to give me an extra butter and sour cream for my baked potato. They made 3 trips to my vehicle and insisted that I already was given extra. Although, clearly, none was in my bag. They made me feel like I was a total inconvenience as a customer and making an unreasonable request. How hard would have been to say, no problem, let me get some more for you? We've had variable experiences at Charleston's the last couple times we've visited but today everything was perfect. We came around 12:30 and the restaurant was very full yet we were seated immediately in a small booth and our waiter checked in with us within a couple minutes. I had a bowl of baked potato soup and it was just great. It was actually quite filling and my wife ordered a Walt's Champagne Chicken salad which we split and I ordered one of the most amazing croissants which are to die for. The salad was fresh, nothing wilted and had chunks of dates and pineapple. Just delicious. Our server was competent, friendly and did a great job.Even though the restaurant was so full with people, it was actually very low on the loudness scale and it was a very enjoyable lunch with that Charleston atmosphere that we love. read more

I went with my family and it was great. As an appetizer we always get the honey drizzled croissants which are a lovely start to the meal and reason enough to come. I had the BBQ burger which is my go too here and I find it juicy and flavorful . One of the people in our party had the chicken tenders and they were good but a little bland. Another person in our party ate the ribs and they were ok but were a little overcooked and not really tender which they usually are. read more

Food, service, environment. We went out with friends on Saturday evening. Got to the restaurant a little after 5:00. They were already pretty busy but we had no wait and got a table immediately. Wait staff were all smiles and extremely helpful. Seems simple, but one thing I really noticed was I had an empty glass on the table and a waitress who wasn't serving our table removed the glass as I was walking by and then shortly after that our waitress came by with another drink. Cool teamwork and it felt like we were important to the staff not just our waitress. As far as food goes it couldn't have been better. I got the Parmesan chicken and it was perfection. Price wasn't outrageous either. My plate was $19 I believe. Drinks can add up but that's to be expected everywhere. Overall it was a great experience and I think we will try the one in BA next. My husband and I went out for the first time since getting married this summer for his birthday. Had the BEST experience. My husbands steam needed to be cooked a little longer and the manager (or team lead) came out and handed him a new steak and noticed I didn't have a lot of food on my plate (because I didn't want vegetables with my meal). He insisted on bringing me extra fresh pasta out to replace the veggies. Our waiter was sweet (never had a moment to be thirsty because they constantly were refilling our drinks). My friends and family love Charleston's. We come for midweek dinners out, Mother's Day, birthdays, etc. Everyone loves it, even the kids. The restaurant can get loud when they are busy but in my opinion just means you can't hear another person's private conversation. The food is delicious. You can't go wrong with comfort food like a burger or chicken fingers. Or you can go healthy with a salad, grilled chicken, etc. Plus, their potato soup is a household favorite. DO NOT use their Yelp waitlist. It's a disaster. Quoted 2-12 minutes for a party of 5. When we arrived told it would be 30-45. Which is the same the waitlist is quoting and same for walk up. Waitstaff and hostess are very good and friendly. Value is relatively lacking, depending on what you order, but usually the food is quality. Unfortunately we did have a terrible experience with the food a couple of months ago that has kept us from coming back for a while. We'll see today. My wife and I went to Charleston's on Peoria in Tulsa for our 52nd wedding anniversary instead of a high-end restaurant and we were extremely pleased with everything. Monday night during the week of Christmas it was crowded but they had a booth available immediately. I had the baby back ribs and my wife had the chicken piccata and everything, including the sides were great. Service was impeccable. It was the only meal I ate that day and at 6' 270lbs all I could eat was have of the ribs. When they say "fall off the bone", they aren't kidding. First I grabbed my knife and as soon as I stuck my fork in the ribs, I put the knife back and never used it. The prices are reasonable.
