They definitely have/had some pretty high prices compared to other eateries in the area. I'm not sure if that is caused by cost of goods or location or what, but I think that did come into play when a lot of economic hardship is happening all over. Like I mentioned above, I DID like their food, but it definitely had to be a special occasion type of thing, due to the high prices. When we did go, I LOVED the Maryland Crab Dip. It reminded me of my favorite crab dip in the world, at the SweetWater Brewing Company in Atlanta. We also had the Green Bean Almandine that was on special last time we went and that was pretty good, but you have to be a green bean fan, for sure. I decided to try the sushi as my main dish last time, and had the Everything Crunch Maki, which consisted of cooked salmon, jalapeño, and cream cheese. It was pretty good, and had a little hint of spice to it from the jalapeño, which cut the heavy cream aspect. My husband had the Grilled Atlantic Salmon for his entree, and gave me a few bites. It was cooked well and the mushroom risotto below it was very flavorful and filling. The cute nautical ambiance and excellent service were always appreciated, so no complaints there either. I think if they had been in a different area with less expensive rent and cost of goods, I may have visited more often.

Really good and no regrets devouring these. They were so good that we want to try to recreate these at home--but that's going to be extremely difficult. The Croque Garson burger was really big and really messy (as expected). But I think the cook was having a bad day honestly. We asked for both burgers to be medium-rare because I didn't want it to be well done. I just wanted it under-done (I'm not that picky--any amount of pink or red would have been great with me). First, let me point out the good -- the egg was PERFECTLY cooked. The ham was delicious. The mustard and aioli were plentiful! The buns were fresh and toasted. But the beef? This is where the bad gets pointed out -- it was so overdone that I couldn't eat it. It had a nice crust on either side. But the inside was just about as dark. It's just a shame because this was some high quality beef. I took a doggy bag home so my pooches could have a nice snack. I ended up eating the egg and ham with the top half of the bun and all the messy mustard mayo goodness. But it was not a satisfying burger experience. Sad face.

One of the things I appreciate most is that the menu has barely changed over the years, and that's a very good thing. They've perfected what they do instead of chasing trends. Even their basic steak is better than what you'll find at many of Omaha's steakhouses, and the rest of the menu is consistently outstanding. Friendly service, comfy setting, and oh yeah - the food! Unfortunately for me, there is too much seafood on the menu but there's always something. People rave about the seafood dishes so I'll trust them and say it must be good. I'm just not into it. On this visit, we each ordered a cocktail. I decided to try the lemon martini which I never order and OH MY GOODNESS. It was awesome! They nailed it. The limoncello brought it home. My dining partner had a dirty martini and was satisfied as well. We enjoyed a Spezia salad which featured mixed greens, prosciutto, tomato, Kalamata olives, and a house vinaigrette. It all combined so well. The lettuce was wonderfully fresh, no need to pick out rotting leaves like some places. The dressing was simply light and delish. We shared a plate of spaghetti. You get several options to add to it. The grilled spicy Italian sausage sounded good. I'm not sure which was better. The sausage or the marinara sauce. Both were soooooo good!! The sausage was truly grilled and spicy and just amazing, and it was not greasy either. The marinara sauce challenged my own that I make at home. We arrived for our reservation and were seated at 6:40 where we weren't greeted by our waiter for quite awhile. It took a long time to get our drinks and I had to ask for bread so we decided to skip appetizers and go straight to our entree. When ordering the entree our waiter said "and which salad would you like?" And then listed the salad options. Normally when ordering a main and the waiter says which salad do you want that's because the salad comes with the meal. Nope. We were charged $11 per salad that we didn't even really want. The salads were your average side salad, but thankfully had good dressings. We hadn't brought up salads, the waiter did when we ordered our entree. So we were disappointed to have $20+ in salads that we didn't request until the waiter offered them. Our salads were finished for at least 15 minutes before our main entree came out at about 7:30, nearly an hour after we had been seated. My shrimp scampi was good, the broccolini was a touch under cooked but the flavors were still good, and the shrimp was surprisingly large in size and cooked exactly how it should be. Had we been served quicker and not offered things that didn't come with our meal when ordering our meal we may have been happier, hard to say. The table next to us was sat about 10 minute after us and had a different waitress. They received their entire meal (including bread & apps) and left before we were offered dessert. The food is good, I won't discredit that at all. But when coming to a restaurant like this you are expecting a level of service that we just didn't get. I'm sure we'll try again in the future and if service is better I will definitely update my review but for now, this was a let down of a birthday dinner.

The food offered there is the full menu, so we started with some onion rings to nosh on while drinking. Hoped I didn't get sick. Unpleasant texture. Not mixed tableside, we mixed the raw egg into the dish ourselves. Three steaks were severely undercooked. My steak (bone in filet special) was MR, I asked for MW. It tasted as if it was marinated low quality beef, chewy, difficult to cut, (yes, this filet was not easy to cut with a quality steak knife), odd texture. colleagues steak was basically raw (appeared bloody red)--he'd requested MR, sent it back to kitchen twice! Another colleagues steak was very Rare. Steaks were really disappointing as was the preparation. Our party of five was surprised when the steak was returned still undercooked. Considering the quality of my bone in filet steak and the undercooked steaks, I won't return to this location. There's a kitchen issue that needs to be resolved and the manager when that steak was recooked for second time should have observed it was still very rare when he delivered it because our table of five all did. Less than stellar experience due to the subpar beef tartare and steaks.

Charleston's in Omaha is a reliable choice for a satisfying meal. The food is consistently good, and the service is reliably efficient and friendly. You know you're in for a steady dining experience every time you visit. The atmosphere can be quite noisy, especially during peak hours, which can be a bit overwhelming if you're looking for a quiet meal. Additionally, the menu prices are on the higher side, which might make you pause when considering your options. However, the real stars of the show are the desserts. They are simply exceptional and have a way of leaving you wanting to come back for more. Whether it's the decadent chocolate cake or the creamy cheesecake, the desserts at Charleston's never fail to impress. In summary, while Charleston's may have its noisy moments and a pricier menu, the consistent food, reliable service, and standout desserts make it a worthwhile dining spot in Omaha. read more

I personally prefer a crispier, harder-fried onion ring and I'm not the biggest fan of beer batter, so that simply comes down to preference. For my entrée, I ordered the Owner's Cut. The portion was generous, but unfortunately, the steak was a little tougher than I anticipated, slightly more charred than I prefer, and underseasoned. In my opinion, even a little more salt would have elevated the flavor tremendously. The accompanying salad was just okay. It didn't seem as fresh or crisp as I would have expected. Since we were celebrating our anniversary, we were treated to a complimentary dessert of our choice, which was such a thoughtful gesture! We chose the berry cheesecake, and it was absolutely delicious! Light, fluffy, and not nearly as dense as the cheesecakes I'm accustomed to. Definitely one of the highlights of our meal! The flavors and execution were somewhat underwhelming, especially for a restaurant with such a lovely atmosphere. We ordered the special "Prime Rib Cardinale" "12 oz Prime Rib, Crowned with Sauteed Langostino and a Lobster Cream Sauce, with Garlic & Chive Yukon Mash" oh my goodness. I could not recommend this highly enough. I hope it becomes a full-time menu item. So rich and indulgent. Excellent service and intimate dining. Great for friends, date night, business, or a family dinner.

They definitely don't skimp on the toppings here. I ordered the whiskey ribeye with a loaded baked potato, and the potato was just as generously topped as the salad. My husband got the same with hash browns, which were perfectly browned and crispy. Everything was well-seasoned and delicious! It's an old-school steakhouse with a relaxed, comfortable vibe where everyone feels welcome. A great spot for when you are craving a good steak.

Dinner was good. Romano potatoes a good side dish. The sirloin steak itself was not as good as another Texas chain. Atmosphere was better, however. Would consider a return, but will try a different cut next time.

Everyone in our party seemed to enjoy everything we ordered. The bread was nice and hot with soft butter! The sides fed several folks and the appetizers were spot on. Talk about service, it started the moment we walked in and didn't end until we finished our dessert. The staff welcomed us and advised us on the specials, and because it was my first time gave me the rundown of how the restaurant worked. I started with a manhattan which was made beautifully and I loved the special touch of the three cherries. Then, they brought bread to us and I love that each person got their own personalized better. Then, we ordered our main course. I got a beet salad and their sea bass. The salad was amazing, and the sea bass was good, but the slaw on top was the star of the show. My family got the trio that had 2 kinds of steak and lobster. My mom said the steak melted in her mouth. She felt bad that I am a pescatarian diet and allergic to shellfish, because I couldn't try anything on her plate, but she said it was so good. She said it's the best steak she's ever had, even though she is a steak connoisseur, so that has to tell you something. We finished our meal off with the creme brule cheesecake, which did not disappoint, and even though it was my first time here it definitely will not my last. Can't wait to go back, great for a date night or special event.

All the food came out promptly as for a party as big as mine, it was wonderful. The reservation was for 1:30 and we were handed Brunch Menus which we loved! After ordering appetizers and enjoying those- we began to order our meals and were told that brunch had ended but that the server had asked for an extension and was granted after what seemed to be a struggle for the server as she had to plea with the kitchen staff the way it came off to us. Our food was served and my mother's sandwich did not come out as advertised with ingredient missing. The server was notified and reported back that the kitchen already allowed us to order "past" the time of brunch and are not going to fix it but will comp it. At the time to pay the bill - the comp was $2.00 off. Seemed very unreasonable and should've been corrected properly. The food service was prompt and our food came out very quickly. The wait service seemed very busy for the restaurant being at a dead time of the day and only a few other customers eating in the restaurant. The restaurant was clean and tables were set on arrival. I would like to go back during the dinner hour to see how it compares. Overall- good food and clean restaurant. Only hiccup is not taking accountability properly for an easy food mistake and knowingly serving guests menus with time restrictions. Without those two inconveniences, it would've been a 5 star experience.

Service was fine. The live music was very loud, but they let us sit in the back room to avoid it…read more The food was pretty bad. Three of us ordered steak. Two mediums and one medium rare. We got a well done, rare, and blue. What the hell is happening in that kitchen?? My theory is they only had one steak ready for cooking, so they took two out of the fridge and cooked them all together for close to the same time. Why not temp the food?? It was cut before plating, so they saw how under/over cooked it was. Why still send it out to our table?? I'm so confused. The steak was so weirdly seared, parts of it looked boiled. On top of the steak being poorly cooked, the fries were dry and mediocre at best. The menu is very limited and not very appealing. And yes, I probably could've just asked them to recook it, but that food never should have been allowed to leave the kitchen in the first place.
