Their selection was always great with good quality shoes. Fast forward to me as a senior citizen with back and hip pain issues. Uyeda is still my go to place even more so with their expertise of quality shoes for comfortable walking, etc. Yes, their shoes are not cheap but that is because the shoes they sell are known, podiatrist recommended shoes, sandals, & slippers. You also get one-on-one help with very knowledgeable staff. They know their products and how to customize fit with inserts, etc. Their knowledge is based on personal and customer feedback too and not just reviews and/or written materials provided by the shoe company. I have converted family and friends to Uyeda too. They all agree that their knowledge and service cannot be beat.

Is now the biggest support for our soles as I remember shopping here for my shoes when I was very little was very surprise to see that they have survived all the big shops filled with styles that many crave for though I must admit that I haven't been there in decades until having feet problems and my podiatrist suggested picking up some support for my sad and aching feet. Located on the ground floor of University Plaza which is right behind Raising Cane's on South King Street and the entrance is easiest on Kuilei St as University Ave can get very busy with traffic. You can see their sign right below the staircase though I accidentally walked into a vape shop lol Uyeda is located right beside it. Walking in I can instantly tell it's not at all what it used to be though it's so nice and clean and very organized a lady came out to greet me and find out what I was looking for and for me to describe what foot issues I have as I was told that many bartenders and various working folks that are on their feet constantly are regulars here. Seeing a rack with Oofos and Hoka shoes just to name a few are all known for comfort. As I found the insoles and suggestions it's the place to come for Black Friday she says as everything is 20% off and as these shoes are pricey the value of your feet as it's the foundation of it all is worth every penny. It was a fairly new style of Callisto and I had bought it at Macy's or it could have been Nordstrom. Desperately seeking for a shoe to take its place I thought of the Shoe Box which surprisingly was not far away from where I was. I popped in and explained my situation to the owner and she found me a great pair of Italian Shoemaker shoes for $50. I wore the shoe the remainder of the work day and encountered no blisters, no sore feet and actually since the shoe was light it was very comfortable on my feet. If you are ever in the downtown area I recommend you check this place out.

The convenient location, reasonable prices ($19 and upwards, typically in the $45-$59 range), and variety of styles make this an ideal place to shop for the working girl, hmm... let me rephrase... make that "business professional woman." If you work in downtown, you have probably already stopped by on your lunch break to chat with the owner while she helps you navigate the myriad of boxes to find the right size for you. She does buying trips several times a year and brings back the latest styles. If you're a common size, you may have to wrestle with another customer for the shoe, so the best thing is to ask the owner when the new styles are coming in and plan accordingly. Have fun!

Very disappointing experience with Original Grail in Waikiki. My 13-year-old son purchased a pair…read moreof older Jordan sneakers here for approximately $208 while I was not with him. He paid cash and was asked to sign a Sneaker Condition & Final Sale Waiver himself, without a parent or guardian present. The shoes were worn only twice, one shoe completely separated from the sole and the other also started coming apart. This happened while my son was at school. He had to walk very slowly for hours, was late to class, and was embarrassed when other students laughed at him because of the condition of his shoes. I contacted Original Grail and provided photos of the damage. They declined a refund, exchange, or store credit, citing the waiver and the age of the sneakers. I asked them to reconsider because the waiver was signed by my 13-year-old son without a parent or guardian present, but they maintained their decision. Original Grail later stated to me in writing that the sneakers were manufactured in 2014, while the handwritten information on the waiver they provided appears to reference 2011. I understand that older collectible sneakers can deteriorate with age. However, as a parent, I am very disappointed that an older pair with this risk was sold to a 13-year-old, that he was permitted to sign the final-sale waiver himself without a parent present, and that both shoes began failing after only two wears. I am sharing our experience so other parents and customers can understand the risks and the store's final-sale policy before making a purchase.

For a brief moment I enjoyed joining a 5K and 10K walks/runs and with that I had no idea what type of shoes is for me as many recommend what is the best somehow it jut never really worked for me though the stability and comfort is what many brands to encourage they have my feet just says differently. There are moments when packet pick ups was here at the Running Room and with that I always somehow never leave without purchasing something as they just have so many items besides shoes and socks and the perfect location on Kapahulu with free parking does make it an easy place to shop as well and on this sad to hear of its closure did take me by surprise so I just had to pay them a visit and I guess many have known about it as basically majority of their inventory has already been sold. Luckily for my larger sized feet there was my size left though the color situation was sparse understandably I did find one that looked promising and decided to get my very first pair of Hoka. I haven't treated myself to a brand new shoe in years so it felt like a cloud but being cautious since my legs hurt the next day. Not exactly sure when their last will be but glad to have given them one final visit and hope that the future will grand for this part of Kapahulu. Thank you!

I was looking for a new walking and running shoe so I immediately went to Food Locker at Ala Moana Center. They are located on the top floor across Hoka. Since my sister swears by Hoka and I recently bought my dad a pair of Hoka's, I looked at that section first. My cousin recommended a brand called ON so I also checked that section out after. Now I could compare them myself. I picked a pair from each brand and a SA named Joshua helped me. He was friendly and very knowledgeable about both brands. Joshua offered exceptional customer service. He didn't take long to bring out my size to give them a try. I personally didn't care for how the Hoka's made me feel. It felt like a rocking motion but maybe I need to acclimate to them? The ON pair was extremely light and very comfortable. It was a hard decision so I told Joshua I would think about it and come back. I ended up coming back to pick up the ON shoes another day. He was working so he was able to assist me with bringing the pair out for me to purchase. They offer you to join their FLX rewards program and to do a survey of your visit. With Joshua's excellent customer service, I made sure to do it. To my surprise, I received a $10 gift certificate to use on my next purchase after completing the survey. It came in handy as I wanted to get my father-in-law a pair before we flew out to visit my in-laws. Of course my dad wants a pair too lol. Great option to purchase sneakers, socks or sports apparel.

This gal isn't really a shoe shopper but my feet is always in desperate need for a comfortable pair and I've been relying on Foot Locker for that though at one point they had great selection for women as I've always came here versus the Women's Foot Locker which sadly has closed now find that the selection here for my personal preference is meh! The staff here is great as they greet you but I'm a browser and do need time to look so I don't mind that solidarity and to think through the prices as well though sometimes have the need to ask for their knowledge and suggestion which is something we all should do especially mine is mostly for work. Their insoles are a great item to keep in mind...get them and keep the receipt with the box because once they wear out it's use you can have them replaced for free as most time the insoles wear out before the shoe so you don't have to purchase another if it's in good condition and offers like this is wonderful new to keep my feet happy. Thank you!

I love coming to this Chanel store and prefer it over the Waikiki store. A few years ago I bought my first pair of espadrilles and the specific color I was looking for was white with black cap toe in lambskin leather. As soon as the sales associate brought it out from the back, it was a no brainer. I had to get it! She constantly told me how lucky I was because it had just came in that morning and my size (36) was the only size they had for that color. I now have 3 pairs of espadrilles because every season they come out with beautiful designs, color and material! I don't have a sales associate that I normally go to but I always receive great service every time I step foot in this store. read more

Its always the first shop I visit son day one and stop by All of their locations while I'm there. The clothing is so feminine, pretty and dreamy. Flowing maxi dresses, tops, billowy pants, rompers - so many items in soft pastel colors and lots of white. Whenever I wear the clothing back on the mainland, it reminds me of my days in Hawaii. You can't find clothing like this anywhere else. The jewelry is just as enticing with lots of long dangly earrings, some made with tiny shells, others have starfish charms, turquoise, coral and colors of the sea. Many are made by local artists. Most every trip I purchase earrings, a bracelet or necklace - sometimes all three! Rather than Chachka, I prefer to buy jewelry that I can wear all the time, that reminds me of my trip. To round out the boutique, they have candles, lotions, pillows, scarves, Sun hats, mermaid statues and ornaments (I've bought several) and other gift items. The store is small but filled with delightful items. Prices run the gam-met so you can find items in your price range. There is always a sale rack of clothing in the back so make sure to check it out. I've never felt rushed and when I need assistance, everyone is friendly and super efficient. Love this boutique and can not wait to get back to Hawaii when the Covid-19 quarantine is lifted. I need some Aloha and some new jewelry!

Kelly was awesome showing my mom and I so many different items and ways to spice up what we already have! I felt like we were a hurricane that came through the store because we looked at so many things so I really appreciate Kelly's patience and enthusiasm! We came in looking for a wallet for my mom and ended up leaving with something else we didn't need (but I guess you never really NEED anything) but everything here is just so fun! She curtly says, "it's fur." Her tone-of-voice sounded annoyed and that I was an inconvenience to her. I'm thinking, "No shit, it's fur! I'd hope it wouldn't be synthetic if it cost $2000+!!!" I make my way over to the dresses and found one similar to the one I saw online... However, I asked the same woman (who was now following me around) if they had the style I wanted, as I showed her my phone screen. She barely looks at it and says, "no." Geez, how helpful. Now I'm annoyed at this point... not because they didn't have the style dress I was looking for, but because of this woman's attitude! I should probably mention, I was dressed down in my Pokemon attire. I've had my fair share of past retail jobs, so I know I was probably being judged. But seriously!! At least pretend to be nice and try not to judge a book by it's cover. Also, I'm not a millionaire, but I sure as hell can afford my designer taste. I've been in this store before. I'll probably go checkout the Waikiki location.

The brand is not without controversy, starting with the founder, Chip Wilson. He stated in an interview about deliberate mockery of the multiple use of the letter "L" in Lululemon, to make it difficult for Japanese to pronounce. He also made critical and unappreciated remarks about women's bodies following criticism over Lululemon's unflattering and revealing sheer black women's yoga pants. And it continues with his criticism of the diversity and inclusion initiatives the company has emphasized after his departure. Nevertheless, I am a fan of the brand. Not everything fits me well but what does makes me happy. The material is comfortable, washes and line dries easily, and will last for years with only minor dark color fading. I find their athleisureware perfect for traveling. There are several newer athleisure brands out there with products as good or better in quality or price. But the large numbers of Lululemon stores makes it easy to shop. I have bought clothes suitable for the weather while traveling in Tokyo and Seattle - very convenient. On any given day you'll probably find me dressed with something Lululemon.

She told me how she really liked the durable, washable, lightweight, and colorful fabric. She's a smart shopper, so, I trusted her. However, at the time, I was a poor college student. Later in life, I learned about how this successful company started: From humble beginnings, two friends noticed how luggage - back in the day - was so drab and boring. They decided to market their unique products through college students... (there was no internet yet) and the rest is history! On the Island of O'ahu, there's a Vera Bradley shop in Waipahu at Waikele Premium Outlet. They won't have the latest prints such as this new collaboration with Hello Kitty. They do have discounted prices on older prints and styles. That's why I had to go to the Flagship Store in Waikiki. Located on the ground level of the International Marketplace - closer to the Kuhio Avenue side - Vera Bradley currently has Hello Kitty products in the display windows! I waited outside of the store until it opened at 11am. Luckily, it was a holiday (King Kamehameha Day) and I parked on the street for free. (I didn't want the stress of only getting two hours free with a $10 purchase at International Marketplace. I hadn't planned on going shopping. I was across the street at breakfast when I remembered that my friend, Angel, showed me photos of the new Hello Kitty items... Uhg!) I couldn't decide on what to get. I overheard the salespeople mentioning that it's "sold out online" and that they're getting calls from the mainland because they're the only store that still has Hello Kitty merchandise... Oh, the pressure! I looked at the blankets, towels, pillows, backpacks, notebooks, luggage tags, cosmetic bags, socks, flip flops, scrunchies, tumblers, bathrobes, sleepwear, etc. I figured that even if I could buy online, I would be saving money by not having to pay for shipping... So - I should get something now - while I'm there... I finally decided on a wristlet that can hold credit cards, coins, money, and cell phone! Taking my wristlet to the friendly cashier, she entered my information into the system and gave me a new "fresh" wristlet in a plastic bag from the drawer below! Yay! It's a "clean" one! I'm quite happy with my purchase! However... I looked online at home and saw that the Hello Kitty x Vera Bradley items are NOT sold out. I was disappointed to discover that this Limited Edition was released on June 1, 2023. How can they be sold out in just twelve days? Oh, well... We learn something new daily... I didn't want to buy online anyway...

I think I remember reading an article about User Experience where the people who own Anthropologie talked about the importance of the experience, the sounds, the smell, the aesthetic of their stores. They do a great job at creating a beautiful experience for anyone who enters their doors. There is an eclectic array of clothing, some chic trendy jewelry pieces, candles, skincare, agendas to keep your schedule in check, kitchenware (cups, plates, bowls, chic and trendy kitchen items). It's a beautiful store with beautiful things. While you can come across some solid deals, it's not a thrift store. I sometimes come here just to walk around and look at all the beautiful things, even if I don't end up always buying something. This location is my favorite on island. It's one of the larger locations and they have so much to tempt you. The staff at this location is warm and inviting. They are there if you have questions but they don't smother you if you know what I mean. They allow you to peruse the store independently but are attentive and willing to answer any questions or help you style an outfit...or room. Such a beautiful experience.
