My first complaint is that their locations are not really local friendly. Two of their locations are in Waikiki and their third location is in downtown with limited street parking that is usually taken. My second complaint is that their downtown location doesn't have that much selection so if you are looking for slides you are out of luck. So I highly suggest calling ahead of time to see if they have the product that you want is available. That being said their products are solid! Even comes with a warranty. So even though it's on the pricier side I feel that it's a great value. Plus the workers are friendly and really helpful making for a great buying experience. read more

After years of wearing and recommending this brand, I'm extremely disappointed with my recent experience. I purchased a pair of flip flops in Australia, worn approximately 30 times, and both sides of the right sandal split open. That's not normal wear and tear for a premium product. When I contacted customer service, I was told a replacement could only be shipped to a U.S. address. The product was purchased in Australia, yet no practical solution was offered. The responses felt procedural and indifferent, with no real ownership of the fault. Quality issues can happen. A lack of care in resolving them is what damages trust. Unfortunately, this experience has significantly changed my perception of the brand. Ultimately I was told if I have an address in the US they will replace the flip flops, if not TOUGH. NO CAN DO. I have owned several pairs of Olu Kai slippers, and all seem to have the same issue over the course of a year where the two layers of rubber that are glued together near the front edge of the slipper separate from each other. You wouldn't expect this from something that costs as much as Olu Kai's do. Also, when walking in the sand, the sand enters between the foot strap and the base. When emptying the sand out there is an unusually large amount of sand that continues to come out of the slipper. Often times you'll find sand coming out of them into your car floor mat days after going to the beach unless you make an effort to empty the sand out. read more

Their products have been hit or miss for me. Some are great and some not so much. My main issue with this company is their $5 RETURN FEE that I just found out about. OluKai is supposed to be a high end retailers. They don't have stores in the mall so your only option is to order and give it a try. My last order from OluKai was indeed my last order. CHARGING $5 FOR a RETURN on a $150 pair of sandals is beyond poor taste. read more

On this trip to Oahu, my slippahs finally broke. It was a pair of Olukai I bought years ago. Can't believe they lasted this long. So I searched on their website and found one in the Sheraton Waikiki hotel. I don't recall seeing the store in the hotel before, but I was told this was a new location. Upon entering, we were greeted by a very friendly sales person. After looking for the size and model I wanted, I went to pay. The sales person was so easy going and we strikes up a conversation about my Olukai that was broken. She also complimented my daughters hair and how my daughters looked like twins. Overall, it was a great experience and the sales person was fantastic. I wish I had asked for her name so I can mention her on this review. She was either Filipina or Hawaiian. I have flat feet, no arches and pronation, and I need to wear footwear that is sturdy and has a good arch. Olukai footwear is my all time casual and one of my favorite footwear! I have two pairs of the men's Nalu Slides. (They look okay for woman too) YES, two pairs! I wear them in the house, and one for outside. It has a strong well made velcro, that you can tighten or loosen the strap. My next purchase will be the Ohana woman's slipper, which feels sturdy on my feet with the wider strap. I have also tried on the Kipea Olu, and love the style, but after trying it on, the strap around my feet, seems to run wide. I also needed a 1/2 size for this particular style, and unfortunately Olukai sandals don't come in 1/2 sizes. *If your feet need extra support and comfort, I highly recommend!! I truly love their products however I went to buy a pair of shoes that THEY were touting were 50% off. I had a valid code and when I went to use it it still showed the full price in the checkout. I thought, no problem, I'm sure they're customer support can fix it on the backend to which I was told the code was eligible for me. I just wanted a paid of their great shoes at a great price and I spent days going back and forth with customer service. I will be returning the shoes. #ANYWHERE ALOHA When it was time to finally retire my pair of canvas sneakers from The Walking Company several years ago, I decided to upgrade to OluKai's leather-wrapped Pehuea Lī'ili that I noticed online. I'm not comfortable ordering shoes online, so I decided to look for this shoe at a couple of department stores at Ala Moana Center to buy it locally. However, I could only find this style featuring mesh and synthetic suede uppers and wasn't sure if the fit would be different with leather uppers. So, I checked my trusty Yelp app and found this OluKai store located on Kālia Road. I called the number listed on this business page, and a friendly female (Bobbie?) answered my inquiries regarding their location and the availability of the shoe style and size I was looking for. She verified the store's location in the Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort's Alii Tower and confirmed the availability of the Pehuea Lī'ili. I also asked if she had the shoe style in black leather and in stock, to which she replied no BUT since I was concerned about the shoe's fit, she invited me to come down to try the style in the other colors in stock and they would order the black leather shoes based upon my fit and have it delivered to my home at no additional charge. Well, since I had an upcoming appointment in town in a few days, I told her I'd make my way to the store. A couple of days passed and I walked to the Hilton Hawaiian Village's Alii Tower where I immediately found the store based upon Bobbie's directions. Walking in, I was greeted with fond Aloha by three employees (Kāhea, Akoni and Brock) who were busy restocking and arranging their displays. I spoke to the female employee thinking she was Bobbie and thanked her for providing great directions to their store and asked to try on the Pehuea Līili. She corrected me by introducing herself as Kāhea and went into her inventory to get me two different sizes of the leather Pehuea Līili. I brought a pair of thin no-show socks to try on the shoes since the fit differs from the type of sock or if trying on barefoot. I know from previous experience with OluKai slippers that the shoes feature comfortable and anatomical footbeds and premium materials for its uppers. There's even a patented drop-in heel that easily converts the shoe to a slide. Best of all, I've never had to break-in the shoe or slipper. Akoni completed the transaction for the shoe, confirmed my contact information and e-mailed the receipt. He assured me the shoe would be sent via FedEx and would arrive within 5 working days. The e-mail confirmation provided me with FedEx tracking number and you can bet that I excitedly waited for the delivery. Sure enough, my shoes arrived on the promised date. You can't go wrong with a shoe, sandal, boot or slipper that you can wear in comfort right out from the box! Sure, these footwear are pricey but they're guaranteed (1-yr) to last through every street wear or beach. By the way, OluKai has an upcoming opening for a new store in Chinatown but they've delayed store opening due to worker shortages caused by the pandemic. read more

I forgot to pack my Olukai sandals so i decided to get a new pair. I've always had a great experience with their products and knew what to expect. The store at the Hilton Hawaiian Village is at a very convenient location was very convenient since that's where we were staying. The staff were very helpful and store itself was clean and attractive. My only complaint was the lack of inventory. Several pairs I chose were not available in my size. the gentleman that worked there did offer other locations on the island. It left me wishing for a little initiative on their part. Associates at other retailers at the Hawaiian Village called their other locations and arranged to have my item sent to the Hawaiian Village store for my convenience for much less expensive items. I enjoy and appreciate my Olukais so I settled for another style that was available at their location. read more

I've owned some of their sandals foe years and they never seem to wear down and they have so much support....so much that I can go in a 2 mile walk and my feet will not hurt! I had bough a pair in Hawaii, I learned recently that their old Waikiki beach location was a distributor foe the brand, but they now have 2 store locations, one in Maui and this one. Due to all the supply chain shortages, they had limited sizes but I managed to buy a comfortable pair of machine washable shoes. I had bought a pair of their sandals at a store in Ko'Olina just a few days before coming to this store. Tried to buy a pair foe my niece but they had pretty much sold out of children's sizes. First customer service and their products are outstanding. The reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because I really love their high end quality leather sandals but most of the time these sandals are all made for extra wide feet instead of more standard fit. I don't have a small foot my foot fits perfectly in the standard fit sandals like a glove. Unfortunately most of the ones I fit into aren't as nice so I don't buy them the way I'd like to with nicer colors etc. Again their products are the best just some small changes would be nice to see.
