I'll give this place the benefit of the doubt by giving them 4 stars since they are still in soft opening but the tea I tried was really more like 3.5 for me personally. As of 5.22, they are still offering a buy one get one 50% off deal. If you buy 2 drinks, you get one free. I ordered the first thing on their menu, the Yunnan black milk tea, which I was expecting to be their specialty. I had it at 25% sugar, which was great cause it wasn't overly sweet. Now it's pretty smooth to drink thanks to the milk, but unfortunately the tea flavor was very subtle and watered down, so I couldn't taste much of the black tea. Black tea is normally strong but it did not stand out in my drink, so it tasted pretty average in my opinion and I didn't find it special. I got regular ice and the nice thing was that it wasn't a lot of ice even for regular, so you got a decent fill. Just my problem with the tea is that it's already tasting as if it was watered down as soon as I got it, so I wished the tea stood out more. I see potential in this place though so I hope the drinks improve or maybe I need to try something else. Location-wise, it's pretty convenient. Small lot but doesn't seem to get very busy. There's 4 tables for seating but not really a place I see for getting work done since there are few available tables/power outlets. Pretty much grab and go unless you're lucky to get a table. Seats are comfy for having a nice sit down and chat situation. read more

Swung by this new boba place after work with a friend and we were both pretty disappointed with our drinks. Thank goodness for the buy one get one 50% off promotion going on right now, because I would have been upset to have paid full price for the drinks. Grapefruit and Aloe (50% ice, 50% sugar) - had no tea taste at all. It just tasted like the sugary water from the aloe jelly cans. Grapefruit Strawberry Tea (50% ice, 100% sugar) - had no fruit taste and I tasted just tea the whole time I was drinking. I don't think adding a slice of grapefruit and pieces of strawberries to a drink makes it a fruit tea. Or maybe it's the fruits they used, because I couldn't taste anything even after stabbing the fruits with my straw. I personally wouldn't return to this boba place. Came to place with a friend and If you're looking for some good late night boba, this is the place! However on thing to note is that the parking is very limited, so I highly recommend parking in the streets on the side on a busy day. I got their yakult green tea and it was definitely delicious. However, there was only 1 staff making all the drinks and taking in the orders. Definitely felt bad for the staff that was all alone but didn't mind waiting extra for my order to finish. I came here because I saw that they had a crème brûlée crepe that can be eaten like an ice cream cone and I wasn't disappointed. The place itself was quite small giving it a mom and pop shop feel but had some great music and felt like a nice place to come and study while grabbing a crepe and boba. There was only one gentleman working and he seemed super busy with orders but was super nice and apologized for the wait. After waiting about 20min, we got our creme brûlée crepe with strawberries, Nutella and custard! The nice gentleman also gave us a free drink for the wait which was much appreciated. I loved the crème brûlée style topping combined with the custard and crepe. It was quite delicious and would recommend come checking it out. My only suggestion would be perhaps a simpler ordering method. When ordering the crepe on the iPad there were so many options that we were unsure which one to order but glad with our choice in the end. So if you're in the area id recommend stopping buy for a crepe that you won't find anywhere else. read more

My go-to drink at Cha Express is the milk tea with black rice. Before coming to Cha Express, I never thought of having rice as a topping in milk tea, but I loved it when I tried. The rice is not mushy and it complements the drink well. I saw that they also offer oats as a topping, which is something I will try next time I stop by. This review is mostly for the lemon yakult, and Hawaiian fruit tea, and recent service. My most recent trip was very late tonight as I spent some time with family and was craving drinks after. Luckily, they were opened until 1 A.M. so I had placed an order around 11:50 something or so and didn't receive it until 12:40. They were pretty packed so the wait was more understandable and they were also probably under some stress so we didn't mind the wait. ** it's best to understand the number of people and orders anywhere as wait times can vary which makes patience key!!! Some things actually take more than a minute or two to make but obviously best to check on them if it's taking more than usual** I ordered the Hong Kong style lemon tea with full sweetness but it tastes at least like 20-25% if I'm being generous, haha. I'm most sure it is because they were close to closing and just finished a big order(s) and misread so I'm going to save the rest of my drink for tomorrow and add my own sugar, no problem. The boys working tonight deserve some rest and peace of mind after busy nights. Overall, I recommend their Hawaiian fruit tea with green tea base and to give the lemon yakult a try as I was skeptical at first but it turned out quite refreshing. The drinks have a strong flavor, and you can taste the passion fruit seeds inside the Passion Fruit Pearl. The bobas are too hard, should be more softer and chewier. I went here on a whim to celebrate the last day of work with my co workers! I came in to pick up, and was warmly greeted by the cashier (who also might have been the owner of the place?) He was so nice and I love a spot where they greet you. I ordered an ovaltine puff milk tea with boba, a strawberry and grapefruit tea, and a matcha green tea. I tried calling when they opened to place an order but no one picked up. I arrived shortly after and ordered 2 drinks and the creme brûlée crepe. There were no customers in the store at the time. The ordering process was painfully slow and so was waiting for order fulfillment. The green haired worker wore the same pair of gloves the entire transaction including when she made my crepe. She handled the cash register, picked stuff off the ground and made drinks/ food all without ever washing her hands or changing out the gloves. The oolong milk black rice tea was underwhelming. The rice was slightly hard. I wish I went with 75% sweet instead of 50% because it was not sweet enough. The crepe was only okay. The Crepe was cold, soggy and premade. The cream was good and the torched topping was thin. None of this was worth the 30 minutes it took from ordering to receiving the completed order. Definitely will not be a repeat customer. Nothing was stand out and the wait was outrageously long for a pre a pre made crepe that just requires the toppings. read more

The cashier did not speak any English and I managed to talk to her in broken chinese. They had run out of passion fruit syrup and mangoes. So got a mango tea instead and no mangos on the crepe. Took another 15 minutes for her to make it. Both drinks were watered down, barely taste either tea or milk. The crepe size was a joke as it was no bigger than half my palm size. I came here for the first time on Saturday after a late lunch with my friends at a restaurant nearby. Upon first impression, this boba shop is relatively quiet, which is great for people who need a study space and I believe there is free wifi available as well. The menu was available in English and Chinese, and the cashiers were super friendly and helpful with describing the drinks to us. DRINK I ordered the Puff Cream Bubble Matcha Milk Tea. The puff cream itself was slightly salty but the menu did note that it was a "sea-salt custard," which I don't agree is equivalent to "puff cream". The drink itself was decent although I've had better puff cream teas at other boba shops. It was a very hot day and my friends and I stayed there for a while to talk and catch up, and I noticed that it was getting pretty warm in the shop despite the air conditioning. The cashier (bless his soul), also noticed that it was getting hot in the shop, and brought over three cups of ice water for me and my friends (+1 star for thoughtfulness!). PARKING They share the same lot as some other small establishments including Salju but I've never had trouble finding parking here. If so, there is also street parking available. read more
