The best Peruvian food in town hands down! He's open late too which is so convenient when you want something good to eat after being out! The ceviche is AMAZING - one of the best if not the best in town. The lomo saltado is INSANE - get them both!! you cannot go wrong with those items. He is very friendly and works as quick as he can in there to get it out in good time. There is a picnic table right in front of the truck to sit and eat. You can also order to go. Highly recommend this spot!

Before coming here, consider the following: - Are you with a big group? - How hungry are you? - What day of the week is it? - What time are you going? Don't get me wrong, none of this will take away how delicious the food is here, however it will affect how long you have to wait for your food. The chef and owner is a one-person show on most days during the week. I don't think he realized the traction he's getting from people's reviews of his food truck. He mentioned that he usually has a helper on weekends so wait times may be shorter then. We had went on a Friday night and it was just him working. I believe it took around 2 hours between us arriving there to us getting our food. When we arrived, there was a couple waiting for their order. I didn't realize at the time but the group sitting at the table in front of that truck still had orders pending. It takes the chef around 20 minutes to prepare each dish. As for the food itself, you can taste the heart and passion that goes into the dish. The chef certainly didn't take shortcuts or allow the long line of people awaiting their orders to distract him from preparing the meal properly. I ordered the Lomo Saltado which was delicious. From the fries that came with the order to the sauces, everything was cooked to perfection. Yum!!

BEST CEVICHE I ever had! It may look small but it was packed with fish in there. The corn, plantain chips, and all the items in there add such a great texture to it. I enjoyed how tart it is too. We asked for medium spice level, but it is spicy already so be warned. I also got their salchipapas which is just sausage and fries. They filled it to the brim and gave me three different sauces. I got it to go because there is a lot of mosquitoes there. The chef was nice and he had bug sprays available for us to use.

Very tasty Peruvian food at a local food truck. A little tucked away but not too hard to miss. You can smell the spices as you are ordering. The chef and cashier were very nice and friendly. Ceviche was my favorite of the 3 items. The lomo saltado was very good as well. I personally like my fries cooked with the steak to soak up the sauce but the fries on the side weren't bad. I would definitely return

This food truck is the perfect example of don't judge a book by its cover. Looks really sketchy but the food is SPECTACULAR! The truck is just one man running the whole business and he makes everything to order from scratch so be prepared to wait. You should cal ahead to order to make it a little quicker, but even calling ahead you'll have to wait. He also cares a lot of only using the freshest, healthiest ingredients so you know you are getting quality food. Anyways, the food was so flavorful. I got the Peruvian Ceviche - highly recommend! The fish was so tender and the flavors blended so beautifully with the crunchy onions and potato. I've never had peruvian corn before but it was so crunchy and chewy at the same time. Each bite was glorious! I think he did overcharge me :/ but WORTH IT!

OOOHH MYYYYY GODDDD!!! This hidden gem is above 5 stars and any Peruvian Restaurant. We're visiting from Houston and searched for a Peruvian restaurant in Yelp and due to all the great reviews and all 5 stars, we chose to go to Ceviche7. The food is great, I'm speechless. We had the Ceviche, Lomo Saltado, and Chaufa rice. Every dish was spectacular!

I have to admit, this is my first time trying Peruvian food, and from a food truck as well. Austin's food truck scene is something like no other, so I wasn't too worried, especially with all the outstanding reviews. The only worry was time to receive the order, but from what I could tell, it was because every single order was cooked fresh by the chef. I'm willing to accept a wait for great food. We decided to go on a not so busy Wednesday, which worked out great, as only one person was ahead of us and their order was almost done. It also helped that my wife and the Chef, Don David, spoke Spanish and had very nice conversation about the food. We ordered the Ceviche, Peruvian fried rice, sirloin steak stir fry with garlic rice and fries, plus a side of fried plantains. The Ceviche was amazing. No surprise, as he mentioned he uses Mahi-Mahi, not the cheaper Tilapia like other places. Something to consider, for the people complaining about the price. If the exact same dish were served in a restaurant, the price would easily be double his. We should be so lucky to have the unique style of food in a cost effective food truck setting. Plus the quaintness of it hidden off of Guadalupe street in front of a home (now business) adds to the charm. It wasn't just the Ceviche, but the other ingredients in the dish. The Peruvian corn or whatever others call it was delightfully different and tasty. He had soft cooked kernels and hard cooked ones as well that really added to the uniqueness of this dish. There was also light sweet potato chips as well as a lovely yam type root that melted in your mouth topped with cilantro. Next was the stir fried sirloin. I say next, as each order came out one after the other since he is a one man show in this truck. That was actually perfect for us. He is very proud of his food and work, because the result is all his, from selecting the quality ingredients to creating the unique dishes and recipes to cooking them fresh off the grill. He mentioned the cuts of beef were top quality. He wasn't kidding. I asked for medium just to be safe and the beef was still perfect taste. His spices are fantastic. Be careful of the red peppers. They are HOT HOT, even for my hot spicy accustomed palate. I don't get the garlic rice, as I was expecting something other than white rice with some fried garlic on top. Guess I was expecting something more along the lines of garlic mash potatoes, but with all the food in this one dish I wasn't complaining. Plus, after mixing in the veggies from the stir fry into the rice, it made it perfect. I could have used more garlic, but that's just me, and something I will request next time. On to the fried rice. As Don David mentioned when we were ordering, "This is a lot of food!" We have the luxury of living just up the street from here, so we sampled each dish and saved rest for later. Even then, we were almost full by the time the rice came out. Now, I've tried all kinds of fried rices from all over the world, and kinda think I might be a fried rice expert. It also depends on your taste and palate, but I do know if there is not enough egg, or lack of flavor, too much oil or cheap ingredients (like frozen veggies so many Asian take out use). NONE of those applied here. This ranks up there with some of the best fried rice I have ever had. Probably in the top three. One reason was the ingredients, which you hear me repeat. The chicken was fresh, juicy and full of unique spices. Everything else in the rice made it a very special fried rice, and my favorite dish. I'm going to ask him next time if he can do it with the sirloin. The last dish was the plantains, which we already tried with the rice. They were cooked just right, not fried too much like others. I look forward to going back and trying all the other dishes. This truly is a special place, and we are lucky to have it. For all you impatient people, that really want to enjoy this food, leave your impatience at home.

This place was pretty good for a late night meal. We came in at around 11PM and were not disappointed. I'm from Miami so I've had my fair share of Peruvian cuisine. The thing with this particular plate that I have found that REALLY messes it up is the level of salt. I've been to some very expensive Peruvian restaurants that make the lomo extremely salty to the point where you can't eat it. At this place they cooked it perfectly. The fries were very good and well cooked and so was the rice. I'm not a big fan of rice but theirs was delicious. The sauce is also very good. I totally recommend this place if you're looking for some good Peruvian food that is open late at night and isn't extremely expensive.

I didn't get his name but, the owner was super nice and can talk to you about everything. My husband and I really enjoyed his conversation. If there are people, expect a wait. He is a one man show preparing the food plate by plate using fresh ingredients and obviously love because the food is AMAZING!! As an appetizer, we ordered the beef heart anticuchos. The beef heart was cooked at a medium temperature and were very tender with a lot of flavor from the seasoning, fries and rocoto sauce (a little spicy.) For our entrees, my husband ordered the beef stir fry sandwich and I had the pan con chicharrón. Both sandwiches were so delicious and full of flavor. If he asks if you want sauce, cilantro, and onion, just say yes! We will definitely be coming back and bringing more people.

This little gem is tuckedaway in a corner next to Steel City Pops in North Campus. The owner is extremely nice, and the reviews about slow service are extremely out of touch. I'd much rather wait a bit for a freshly cooked meal that I know was given care. It's a small food truck - what do you expect? Go find a sit down restaurant if you want a full kitchen. The beef stir fry was delicious - tender, flavorful, and generous in proportions. I'm happy my friend showed me this place. I'll definitely be back!

This is probably my first time taking the time to write a review for any business...and that's because Ceviche7 is one of the few Peruvian spots that make delectable Peruvian cuisine! Ceviche is done traditionally and always with fresh ingredients. Arroz Chaufa is another favorite if you're more inclined to beef or chicken meals. David the chef/owner is hospitable and puts his passion and soul to the food! Half of my heritage is Peruvian, and this spot is truly authentic! read more

Ok, I've been to Peru and know and love ceviche! There are many variations of this dish and Ceviche7 make an awesome variant on this Peruvian dish. The Chef David was super nice and knowledgeable and shared some of his secrets (liquefied ginger!) with me. He even had Inca Cola available. If you like ceviche I would definitely recommend checking out this killer food truck. read more

INCREDIBLE. You know you are close to David's little metalic box of food godness when you start smelling those delicious Peruvian plates he's cooking even if you're blocks away. The moment I got there I knew it was going to be a great experience because of the smell and the cook's good disposition. David's is a guy with a lot of experience and background, he won't dissapoint you on delivering good tasty food to your mouth I can promise you that. 11/10 Would definitely eat again. read more

Going to start off with the obligatory "I never write reviews, but..." So this place rocks. Loved the experience from the food to the table out front and the couch. Probably the best food truck experience I've had. Took a suggestion from Chef David because I've never had Peruvian food and I enjoyed every part of the dish. Ended up having 3 dishes between myself and the girlfriend and it all disappeared quite fast. You will not be disappointed with anything this man creates. All I can say is that this place is sooo good! Fresh, authentic, flavorful and all around delicious. A must try. The guy that runs it is super nice and considerate--I didn't think there'd be anything for me considering that I'm a vegetarian, but when taken in by my carnivore girlfriend, I was immediately offered fried yuca root (DELICIOUS!! Better than French fries by a long shot) and asked if I was a vegetarian + said he could make a vegetarian dish w plaintains, garlic rice, and stir fried veggies. It was amazing! This guy is dedicated to making fresh, quality food and providing good, friendly service. I will be back and am excited to see this place grow!! read more

Super down to earth place. I thoroughly enjoyed the ceviche and chicken skewers I had, though I believe the chicken skewers could have had more flavor to it, but I do not know peruvian cuisine so I cant be the best judge. This place probably deserves a 4 stars but I have yet to try their other stuff which i am pretty sure is great read more

First of all the food is DELICIOUS. I got the fried rice and ceviche. I, for real, couldn't believe how yummy it was. Sometimes it's hard to find good food, especially good food you can afford- and for how incredibly, undeniably, amazingly tasty I think it is, its a steal. But besides that, the owner is the most pleasant man I've met in a long time. The kind that just kind of restores your faith in humanity. Support local businesses! They deserve it plus you won't regret trying it. Yum yum yum UPDATE: I wrote this first review about 3 months ago and I have eaten here about once a week since. I've had and loved the fried rice, lomo saltado, pollo antichuchos, and of course the ceviche. Chef David is a one man team doing his best to make everyone happy with their meal. Yummy yummy food. A newly found favorite spot! With the intention of ordering lunch unaware of Ceviche7's opening time being around 2 pm there was little question of making a trip back this evening betting with crossed fingers they opened Monday's. Last night I ordered the Anticuchos - Chicken and the Lomo Saltado. Both dishes savory, cooked diligently & with much care paired with their sauces were both cooked to perfection moist, scrumptious, and simultaneously immediately satisfying and immediately craved. read more

The food is slow, because the truck is tiny! But it is well worth the wait. The ceviche dish is bursting with flavor and textures. The chaufa and sandwiches are huge, and delicious. Definitely 2 meals worth. Loved the plantains in the chaufa. read more

Best restaurant in Austin. The owner is the cashier and the cook. He takes pride in cooking using fresh ingredients. Please be patient as he is a one man show and cooks the food fresh for all customers. I was so impressed, I ordered more food for my drive back to San Antonio. Happy customer!! This is seriously the BEST Peruvian food truck in Austin! I'm so glad my husband and I found this gem. This place will NOT disappoint! My favorite dish from here is the Lomo Saltado Sandwich. Each dish is freshly prepared and is an explosion of flavor within every bite. The food here is super authentic (I know because I grew up eating Peruvian food since my dad is Peruvian) & the customer service is one of a kind. David is an excellent Chef & is able to provide a taste of Peru from a food truck. He's earned every single one of the stars he's received on Yelp! It's for a reason guys! I've heard really great things about this place so I had to stop in and check it out for myself. I'm super glad I did because it is deliciousness! I had the ceviche and the beef with rice, I can't remember what it is called at the moment. I kept the ceviche over night and had it for lunch the next day and it held up great!! I am definitely coming back to this place and trying everything else on the menu! Also the owner was super nice and accommodating. I highly recommend trying it out! read more

Tiny, tiny little food truck near UT campus. This is a one-man operation-- the owner is super friendly and really wants to make his customers happy. Ceviche was delicious- I would have liked bigger chunks of fish and less onion, but the flavors and freshness were on point. Don't come here if you need to get food and get out. The owner makes everything from scratch-- the ceviche was not pre-prepared, it was handmade to order, which is amazing-- so it will take time to get your food. read more

I discovered ceviche7 a few weeks ago, and I can safely say I've been a fan since day 1. I've tried a couple of the dishes and they have all been fresh, tasty and unique. The ceviche is my actual favorite; tangy, crunchy, spicy and exotic, with a mix of fish, citrics and "special touches" as chef David calls em'. David, the owner, is hard at work preparing everything on his own, so expect to wait a little for your glorious meal. He's a nice guy, serviceable and makes up for the wait with a nice chat and obviously the finished product. Come and check this place out, very authentic; you'll become addicted to the taste. read more

The owner is so kind and such a hard worker. The food was great but I'd prefer more of the special orange sauce to add flavor. The meals are very fresh, so he makes them to order. Downside is both times I've gone I've missed out on trying what I wanted because it'd take long to prepare. But still good proportions and good food. read more

When we got there, there clearly was a little line. David is the sole one there taking orders and cooking the food, or so the delay for the food was a little long. We waited about 25-30 minutes, but it was worth it. We got the arroz chaufa and the lomo saltado. The food smelled unbelievable. I thought my dog was really going to pass out from ODing on the fumes. Seriously, he was going nuts over the food. Our favorite was the lomo saltado. The meat was extremely soft and flavored nicely, along with the fried plantains added just the right hit of sweetness. After getting my hotel and all the extra stuff squared away I decided to check out something local that I couldn't get elsewhere. So I found this place to be open to 11pm so I decided why not. I thought I was lost but turns out it's just hard to notice because it is a small and cute truck next to a few residences. I found out quickly that this place would be totally worth it. We were walking down the street late at night, searching for something good to eat, when this brightly lit trailer caught my eye. It was nestled between a building and a dark bamboo forest, but the delicious smells and lively music lured me in. I recently studied in Peru, and must say, this place offers the most authentic Peruvian cuisine I have tried in the U.S. The chef particularly takes pride in his ceviche (and for good reason), which he makes on the spot and to taste.
