Aguachiles & Ceviche
Daisy L.

YALL!! Im speechless. This is the best ceviche in Austin TX. Better than el Bucanero & Seareinas. The sauce was so good my favorite was the green one. The service is attentive. The owner would come out and check on us as well as brought our devices to scare away flys. Ambiance - obviously it's hot because it's outside there's no inside seats but I feel it makes eating the ceviche all the more refreshing.

This was the best aguachile I've had in a long time! The sauces were bursting with flavor and had the perfect blend of spice. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and true to the recipe. I also loved the green sauce on the side - it was the perfect addition. Along with our entrees, we also ordered agua de sandia (watermelon water). This was also very delicious and perfect for the Texas heat! We also had the opportunity to meet the owner, Sergio. He stopped by our table to make sure we were enjoying everything and shared some background on the food, which made the experience even better. Overall, an amazing meal and I can't wait to come back!

Amazing 10/10! Everything was absolutely delicious and the attention towards us was so sweet.

Aquachiles verdes and the tropical mariscos

Coming from vegas this was our stop of choice for some good mariscos. The food and service are a 10/10. Although a little hidden away it's the best find thus far.

Best mariscos & ceviche we have found! Super fresh & very flavorful. Good service & nice outdoor seating area.

Picnic área

The food was so delicious, genuinely tastes like it's fresh out the ocean and properly cleaned. The flavor is one of a kind especially the ceviche with the tostito chips ! The service is humble and comfortable, and the owner was down to earth as well as his employees. It is an outdoor space, that being said they offer fans to keep the flies away, you can also take bug spray just incase you're sensitive to bugs, but don't let nature ruin your experience it's a 10/10 spot. Btw! also byob ;) This is the kind of place where the taste and the advertisements online are not photoshopped, the quality presented matches reality.

This place is a hidden gem! The set up outside is super cute and the ceviche is 10/10. Definitely better quality and taste than many Marisco spots in Austin. A little taste of Mexico. Sergio, the owner, is awesome, too! Very attentive and friendly.

New seafood spot in Austin! Mis favoritos fueron los aguachiles verdes; riquísimos! Ni tiempo de tomarles foto. Prices are good & outdoor area is fresh as the food

Aguaschiles verdes

Hands down best mariscos in Austin! Super cute seating area and great service from the owner. The food is always fresh and so flavorful.

Tostada la carreteta

Very good authentic taste, refreshing taste. The owner is very attentive to their customers. Will definitely come back. Green sauce is fire!! Tasty and spicy. A must try in Austin!!

Amazing service! They were very attentive. Food came out excellent. I had been craving authentic Mexican ceviche and this definitely surpassed my expectations. The black salsa was very flavorful and is now my favorite. Can't wait to come back in the summer to sit in the patio!

I had never been, but it was really close to where I was at, so I gave it a try. First things first, this a beautiful location with lots of seating at the bar and throughout the restaurant. The service is A1, I sat at the bar and was very impressed with the team's chemistry back there (especially while training someone new, they were spot on). The drinks were wonderful as well, very refreshing and lots of flavor. I enjoyed a yuzu & lavender sour & a grapefruit margarita and was impressed with how flavor forward the drinks were while still having a great boozy after effect. Also, I know traditionally oysters aren't usually a thing that you enjoy during the months that don't have an R in them, but I have to say salt traders definitely defied that "rule". Hands down some of my favorite oysters I have EVER had; I enjoyed the Va Va Vooms from Maryland and the Demariscotta Oysters from Maine and still haven't been able to stop thinking about them (it's been about a week or so now & I'm already planning to go back)! I also enjoyed the torched scallop nigiri, the daily crudo, and the salmon plate (that Dijon bbq sauce was craaaazy good, I'll have to order an extra serving of the sauce on the side next time I enjoyed it so much). Lastly, this place has an amazing happy hour, which I noticed fills up fast. Highly recommend going to Salt Trader's if you haven't yet. Great spot for solo dining, with your partner in crime, or bringing a group!

I was a little apprehensive for a couple of reasons: 1-I don't eat seafood. 2-I'm often leery of corporate/chain-style places. *Yes, I go to them but often times not good experiences. Let me tell you something, my concerns vanished almost as soon as we walked in. My cousin made reservations and we were sat immediately. They were pretty busy however, we had such a lovely time that we shut the place down. We were there for almost four hours! It's easy to get lost in conversation with a good glass of wine (or a bottle + several glasses after that lol), good company, food, and a place with great ambiance. The ambiance was spot on. The decor and lighting are exquisite. I can see why so many people choose Truluck's for a special occasion or date night. It's upscale & magical. Truly a premium dinner destination. Service was incredible. Talk about premium...we were treated like royalty. Curtis went above and beyond for us. Such a nice & sweet guy. Even at the end of the evening when we shut the place down, the manager took pics of us on our behalf and chatted with us as well. He didn't make us feel rushed or that we weren't wanted there any longer. Food: We had sides for the table that included asparagus, truffle fries, Lyonnaise potatoes, and Parker House-style rolls. All delicious. I had the tomato salad (minus dressing) with black pepper & it was perfect as a summer main. It paired wonderfully with the asparagus & bread. My cousin had the filet mignon cooked at medium. I had a couple of bites and that was one delicious steak. Her daughter had the Ora King Salmon and she absolutely loved it. She said it was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. My boyfriend and my cousin's sister-in-law had the lobster bisque and they were in heaven. They couldn't stop talking about how good it was. Must have been because it had a strong lobster smell (remember, I don't do seafood). My boyfriend loves a good wedge salad so he had one with his soup. He was definitely jiving on its goodness. The sister-in-law had the jumbo lump crab cake and raved about the texture and flavor. As I mentioned earlier, the wine was flowing. However, I opted for still water with orange & lemon slices. We all had still with either citrus or cucumber slices. My boyfriend and I kind of shared a mini-Manhattan. By kind of I mean I had three sips. That was a proper Manhattan. Cheers to the incredible mixologists on staff. We rounded the evening out with two desserts for the table, Baked Alaska (see vids) & Key Lime Pie. Holy sugar were they good! I was pleasantly surprised by this experience and look forward to going back again. It's nice to be able to spend time with family in such a luxurious setting. Impeccable all around.

They all qualified for the happy hour except for the lobster pasta. Everything tasted amazing. I enjoyed the crab fingers the most because it was flavorful and left me wanting more. The oysters were so good as were the fried shrimp. The lobster pasta was also a highlight of my meal because it had chunks of lobster meat. The restaurant was surprisingly large. It doesn't look much from the outside but when you walk in, you immediately see how spacious the dining space is. There are large couches and tables. Staff is friendly and service is quick. Parking can be challenging to find since you'd need to park on streets.

The buttered crab fingers were SO damn good we ordered another. The smoked trout dip was lovely. The shishitos were surprisingly spicy but I enjoyed that. The fried oyster slider was only fine, and I would probably skip that going forward (I think it's a Gulf oyster). But the raw East Coast oysters were delicious! Mains: i tried the lobster orrechiette ($46 on the day I was there) and one of the specials of the day, a pompano with kabocha and gailan. Both were great but I really especially loved the creamy lobster pasta. After a long week at work, it just really hit the spot. For dessert, we tried the pot du (chocolate) crème, the flourless chocolate torte, and the olive oil cake with blackberry sauce. My favorite was the pot du crème which was so smooth and decadent. The flourless chocolate torte felt a little lost under all the cream, and the olive oil cake was just a little too sweet for my tastes. But others in my group loved those ones. This place is so unassuming from the outside but so so lovely on the inside.

It was one of those moments were you kinda take a couple of bites, take it in...gently nod your head a couple of times, and softly say to yourself, "yep, yep, that's it". The other taco that made me feel like that was also a ribeye taco at La Buena Barra in MTY, MX. It's one of those things that changes your mood, your emotional state etc. It really was that good. Now that we have that out of the way, how was the other food? Excellent! We have four dishes and I'd would rank them: 1) catchetada 2) (tied) cochinita pibil & ceviche 4) fish tacos Both the cochinita pibil and ceviche were excellent - loved how the meat was wrapped in a banana leaf. The ceviche tasted so fresh with such interesting flavors to it. Similar to Suerte (which I loved) the tortillas are great. The 4th ranked fish tacos were fine, but didn't stand out that much ( and yes, i know, this probably isn't the joint for fish tacos) The space, both inside and out, was beautiful, the service is attentive and friendly (incl. hostess & servers), good drinks. Lastly, I have to say the value - what you get for the price ($15 taco notwithstanding) is some of the best in ATX!
