Ambiance: 4/5: Since it is a food truck, there's not much of an ambiance. But they do have tables in a shaded area. Service: 5/5: Even though you order through the ipad, the lady in the food truck answered our questions and gave us some recommendations. After we sat down to eat, the owner came up to us to see if we needed anything. Friendly and great service Food: 5/5: We ordered a ceviche and aguachiles and they were both filled with flavor and so fresh. At first it doesn't seem like a lot of food, but it definitely is. My favorite was the ceviche. I liked that they give you tostadas with your order. Drink: 3/5: We got the agua de sandia (watermelon drink) and it was okay. It either needed to be sweeter or needed more of that watermelon flavor. Not bad though. Definitely coming back for more

The owner would come out and check on us as well as brought our devices to scare away flys. Esmeralda was the person that was taking my order. After having a busy week, I decided to get out of my comfort zone and try the ceviche place. It is definitely a hole in the wall, and deserves more recognition. Parking is provided, and there is a patio where you can eat there. Upon bringing my mango ceviche home I opened it and was surprised how much they gave me. To give you some insight I just ate two tostadas and I still have more than half of the ceviche left. For the price point of $25, I do believe you get most of your money for some fresh ceviche. Super happy to have this food truck so close to home. Shout out to Esmeralda for being so sweet.

This was the best aguachile I've had in a long time! The sauces were bursting with flavor and had the perfect blend of spice. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and true to the recipe. I also loved the green sauce on the side - it was the perfect addition. Along with our entrees, we also ordered agua de sandia (watermelon water). This was also very delicious and perfect for the Texas heat! We also had the opportunity to meet the owner, Sergio. He stopped by our table to make sure we were enjoying everything and shared some background on the food, which made the experience even better. Overall, an amazing meal and I can't wait to come back!

Coming from vegas this was our stop of choice for some good mariscos. The food and service are a 10/10. Although a little hidden away it's the best find thus far.

The service is humble and comfortable, and the owner was down to earth as well as his employees. It is an outdoor space, that being said they offer fans to keep the flies away, you can also take bug spray just incase you're sensitive to bugs, but don't let nature ruin your experience it's a 10/10 spot. Btw! also byob ;) This is the kind of place where the taste and the advertisements online are not photoshopped, the quality presented matches reality.

Food so good I already started planning my next visit before I could finish the food. Dishes came w tostadas but highly recommend getting the Tostitos for extra flavor. Different sauces on the table - classic hot sauce, habanero, chipotle. Clean seating area with fans and shade. Tiny details that show care: -carefully packaged tostadas -presentation/plating -extra sauce ots didn't even have to ask -when I asked for a box, they gave me a bag!!!! I kept seeing this spot all over the internet, so I had to give it a try. One thing is clear: the seafood is really fresh. After a few bites, I felt like the dishes could have used a little more marinating time. The citrus flavors were there, but they seemed a bit muted at first. I ended up taking the leftovers home, and after sitting for a while, the flavors really came alive and delivered the bright, punchy kick I was expecting. We ordered the shrimp ceviche, the whole shrimp aguachile, and the mixed seafood aguachile. Everything was delicious, but all three came with the green salsa base. Looking back, I wish someone had suggested mixing it up with a red or black salsa on one of the dishes to add a little variety and let us experience more of what they offer. I was looking for a good ceviche. I looked up La Carreta and started driving towards it. I was hoping that it was gonna be good to my surprise. It was amazing. Easily the best seafood in Austin area. We had the ceviche carreta and kora and they were fresh and pretty much perfect didnt have to add anything. We also had a aguachile tostada both roja and verde they were also both really good but my favorite was the verde. Ill be coming back for sure to try more stuff and recommend it to anyone that has doubts. read more

Overhyped and underwhelming. Even though they had some shade, it was still way too hot to enjoy anything. Sitting there felt like baking in a slow oven--not the vibe you want while waiting for food. I ordered to-go, and they didn't even bother to put it in a bag--just handed me my food like I was supposed to juggle it back to my car. Communication was slow and unorganized, which made the wait even more frustrating. And the ceviche? Definitely not worth it. I've had better from random spots, and honestly, I could make a fresher, tastier version at home. I don't get the hype. Won't be coming back. read more

I think it is too pricey for the amount of portion served. Could do better in the packing. Unfortunately, only one of of two ramen shrimp soups made it home. I wouldn't drive all the way over to this location for the service or prices. read more

If you're looking for authentic, flavorful mariscos, then you have to visit my man Sergio at Mariscos La Carreta. Sergio always does his best to give you a reason to always go back. To know he has decided to head to Austin just shows his hard work and dedication that he puts into what he loves. Food will definitely have you going back for more.
