mediocre hidden mexican spot, nothing special nothing bad just satisfactory. when we visited they ran out of water which was weird and didn't offer us free bottled water, so we ate our meal without water. chips and sals were complimentary. i got the three tacos and did enjoy it however was sad about having no water. will definitely return with hopes that they have water!

Nostalgia. This place is very laid back and has a vibe like an old school Mexican get together. Or maybe we just got lucky but they are jammin and people are just enjoying themselves here. The food honestly is very sold especially the combination plate of asada and pastor. Once again felt like my Tia made a plate and served it up. The only thing I would say could be better is the tortillas. They are those Tia Rosa store bought ones, but other than that it's solid. I just ended up eating the meat and taco stuff with the bomb chips they have. Everything was honestly great here from the service, food and vibes. Stop by and grab a bite to eat if you are in the neighborhood.

Headed to watch a movie at AFS and came across this gem. My wife has been craving a Tostado, and there was none to be found in the southwest of Austin ! We came across it by accident while waiting to go watch a movie, but will come here on purpose next time. Service: Bueno Ambience: I'm here so it's freaking awesome Margaritas: Yummy Tostado: yummy tambien Enchiladas: bien bueno Sierra Del Fuego, Dos gringos will be back !

#26 Enchiladas (Chicken with Green/Verde Salsa) (sub salad instead of beans)

I ordered the chicken enchiladas with green salsa. Super cheesy and filling! Minor complaints: never thought I'd say this, but I'd prefer a little less cheese. The salsa verde got lost in it. The chicken in the enchiladas also didn't seem seasoned. It is nothing some salsa can't fix; I prefer tinga style chicken in my enchiladas and that's basically what adding the salsa made it. The chips and salsa could be improved but they got the job done. Overall, I liked the generous portions of good food at great prices, the welcoming service, and nicely remodeled interior.

Okay -- the food here was fabulous but I couldn't get past how poorly maintained the building was. I got a delicious ground beef burrito with heavenly rice & beans while my friend got a toco plate that looked even better than what I got. While the food and the service were both far better than I would have imagined, the ceiling, the walls, the windows, and virtually everything else was so run down and dirty that it was hard to enjoy. The dirt hanging from the HVAC diffusers was so thick that I wouldn't dare sit below it. The men's room had a ceiling roof leak above it that made it impossible to use the toilet. I loved the food but the building was just too much of a train wreck to really enjoy my visit.

A classic establishment with very enjoyable food. The service was very nice and sweet to my party of 6 ! We just finished a 5K today and they were the sweetest people you could've met. The food (carne guisado plate) was a filling meal and was so visually appealing that a neighboring table ordered it as well. In fact, that gentleman was nice enough to spot our whole meal. To keep things short: good things happen here. Cheers

Best Mexican food in town! We order different plates each time and have never been disappointed. My favorite is the carne asada plate or the tortilla soup and they are not stingy on the portions. My husband loves the chilaquile plate or the alambre which is carne asada, chicken fajita and sausage with peppers, onions and Monterrey jack on top. They have daily lunch specials for weekdays and happy hour specials as well. But their regular drinks have great prices. If you like birria, the tacos de adobada (Jalisco style BBQ) are very similar. Chips and salsa are free starting at 11 am. They have horchata, tamarindo, & jamaica. They also give you red tomatillo salsa and green jalapeño salsa in bottles! They recently moved to a new location in the same shopping center as Galaxy Theatres on Middle Fiskville Rd. Go try it out!

Y'all. Los Altos has a new location and it is fantastic! Next door to Galaxy Movie theater. Grab dinner and drinks and then a movie! Lots of parking, shiny clean, and the food is still great! To go Or dine in. The salsas are solid and house made. Speedy and courteous service. Generous portions. Reasonable prices and now a full bar. We had the caldo de res and pollo a la plancha. I have had the two meat combo plate and verde chicken enchiladas, as well. Even their iced tea is very good. Come by and see their new location, you will leave satisfied!

It's hard finding an authentic and affordable tacqueria spot in Austin. Los Altos is definitely a hidden gem right off the freeway. There's plenty of parking, seating, and is never super packed. You seat yourself and the service is super quick with free chips and salsa. Th We ordered the tacos de barbacoa adoba and the tacos de campechanos is very filling and flavorful. They definitely don't skimp on the meat. Each dish comes with salsa de roja and a salsa de avocado in a condiment bottle and we drowned our dish with the avo

The space mixes art deco with a little bit of Spanish flair, tucked beside/adjacent to Mama Betty's. It's big, but arranged in a way that still feels cozy and social. The crowd? Late 20s to early 40s. Grown and attractive. Lively but not chaotic. Vibrant without being loud. Perfect for dressing up a little, socializing and lingering a little. We Ubered there, so I didn't get a full picture of the parking, but it seems like there may be a little parking garage or validated parking area? Maybe a pay for parking? I would read other reviews. Most of the staff? Fantastic. Professional, warm, funny. Our assigned waitress, however, gave off overwhelmed and low-energy. She was short with communication and it sort of dulled our sparkle for a moment, but the drinks and vibes quickly brought it back. Had we had another waitress, this place would have been a 10 out of 10. On to the drinks: Round one: espresso martinis (made with Tito's). Slightly sweet, bold, smooth, and very sippable. No coffee bean decorations on top, but full of flavor. No cream inside...sort of reminding you of a Black Russian. Served in a ribbed coupe glass. Round two: French 75s with Hendrick's. Punchy lemon flavor, a tad sweet, lower champagne notes but still giving French 75. Garnished with a dried lime slice instead of a lemon. Served elegant in those ribbed coupe glasses (which fit the aesthetic perfectly). The cocktails are well-crafted and intentional. They aren't overly boozy, but they are balanced, smooth and polished. Bathrooms? Immaculate. Unisex. Private stall rooms with their own individual doors. Efficient and modern. No long lines. Opportunity to mingle with the opposite sex in the bathroom if that suits your fancy. Foxtail feels like a good place to start a new chapter. We had good conversations and we enjoyed staying out just a little longer than we planned. Their Happy Hour (4:30-6pm weekdays) is officially on my radar for the future. I'll be back. I want this place to be routine. 9 out of 10.

Drinks are expensive and served in what feels like miniature target brand, low-quality glasses, which makes the value proposition hard to justify the steep $14 price. The atmosphere is where it really falls apart. The space is set up like a bright, casual brunch hall rather than a cocktail bar--harsh, bright lighting, uncomfortable wooden chairs, and basic wooden square tables that don't align with the concept AT ALL. There's no food offering, yet the environment feels designed for daytime dining rather than an evening bar experience. From a design and hospitality standpoint, it's difficult to understand how this made it to opening in its current state. Even a VERY basic understanding of lighting and ambiance would suggest this setup is fundamentally mismatched--ESPECIALLY for something like a date night. Rosé Gosé was a delightful Mother's Day lunch spot. It is a whole vibe, and it is uniquely French! When we walked in an artist was playing romantic music on his keyboard, which set the tone for the brunch. It is a small restaurant inside with a larger area of seating on the patio. Of course, our reservations were inside in the comforts of air conditioning. You immediately notice a wine wall hence the name Rosé Gosé. The restaurant has many windows which provide lots of natural light. The tables house miniature yellow roses and utensils sat in a small wooden block...very French. All the servers were dressed in mauve clothing that resemble scrubs from a hospital. If someone stepped out in a French beret, I would have fallen over. Our server, Sergey, immediately served us water and took our order. The restaurant was highlighted as a modern European bistro. The atmosphere was charming, elegant, and stylish making it ideal for a Mother's Day brunch. My hubby ordered a ribeye, eggs and French Fries. I ordered the avocado toast with salmon and egg whites. While I'm not a huge red meat eater, I tasted a piece of the hubs ribeye and it was nicely prepared. My avocado toast was yummy to the nth degree! Everything was perfect. The avocado was precisely cut and at the right level of softness. The salmon was chopped into tiny little squares and so enjoyable to eat. We could not be more pleased. With a name like Rosé Gosé you would expect their drinks to be superb. My hubby ordered a hibiscus tea, which was delightful. It's a rainy night in Austin. My girlfriend is in town because my cousin and her fiancé are getting…read moremarried in Austin. It's also the weekend of our one year anniversary. An hour ago it wasn't raining, but now it's pouring. A few months ago, I heard of a newer bar and experience called Equipment Room just right off of South Congress. Music means everything to me. Nothing can express emotions and instill a feeling in 3 minutes like a song can. I live for that. Equipment Room is inherently Japanese in concept. Existing in Japan for over 50 years, listening bars combine high fidelity audio equipment with impressively crafted cocktails and alcohol combining the passion of music in a space to gather with comfortable chairs and a beautiful atmosphere. The concept has expanded westward as all cool things inevitably do, but I would never think a spot would be successful in Austin like it would be in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and so on. As I back my car into a parking spot on South Congress, I grab the umbrella out of my trunk and walk my girlfriend and me to the entrance trying to not get ourselves soaked in the process. This is not the first time we have tried to go to Equipment Room. We tried to get a walk-in table just to see out of morbid curiosity and that was a failure. I booked her and me a table for this night and I was madly looking forward to it. As we got to the small entrance, we were introduced to the hostess who brought us from the stairs into the main underground space and to our seats on the couch in a large wraparound sofa with other parties sitting near us. The music is faint from the entrance, but once you walk through the main walkway, a wave of sound hits your eardrums. You're immediately engrossed into the music like walking into a concert hall or putting a fresh pair of headphones on for the first time. As we sat down, selections from Outkast's Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik were playing through the speakers. Our hostess introduced us to their "User Manual" (their menu) where it contained all the snacks and drinks you could get your grubby hands on. There's more than just drinks and food on the menu. The first page introduces the concept and gives a few house rules. The second page shows all the equipment this so-called room has, from the premium Klipsch speakers, their preamps and amplifiers as well as their turntables and mixers. It's a dream page for music nerds. I want a $15k speaker in my apartment, but those noise complaints would never end. Our waitress came by shortly to give us water and take our order. Their menu is quite expansive, but the main pages we were told to check out were their A-side drinks or the classics and their B-side drinks, which are more experimental. We had to go with experimental for starters because who knows when you'll get to try something similar again. I started with a Goca Dünya while my girlfriend ordered a Deceptacon. The Goca Dünya was a vodka based floral drink with pistachio foam and Amaro Nonino, an Italian herbal liqueur. The Deceptacon was a rum-based cacao drink with a touch of lime and mint. It took a little time for our drinks to come out, clearly, as they are quite intricate. I loved my drink, bluntly. The pistachio foam was a great balance to the herbal flavors at the bottom. My girlfriend and I continued to enjoy each other's company as the music continued. The space we were in was decorated with posters and memorabilia from legendary artists coming through Austin and some general music decor like that purple album from that Prince guy. The DJ-curator that night was on a tear playing incredible soul music holding the bar hostage with a taste of funk. Jimmy Smith came next before transitioning to a few tracks from Bobbie Gentry. The last albums he pulled out were Steely Dan's Aja (a stone cold classic) and Stevie Wonder's Songs in the Key of Life (a top 10 album of all time). Not only was he playing classics like Isn't She Lovely, but he threw down some deeper cuts like Black Man and Contusion. Incredible. We both got another drink with my girlfriend getting their A-Side Espresso Martini while I got the Brown Sugar from their B-Sides. It was a seaweed and mushroom infused whiskey with a few more bells and whistles and it was super unique. Quite a bit of their menu is Japanese-inspired in homage to the originators of listening bars. This includes Japanese beer, sake, and Japanese-inspired food and beverages on their menu. Very cool. The worst part of the night came when our hour and 45 minute reservation came to a close. I could've stayed there for another 3 hours and never grown tired, but with how popular this space has become, they gotta kick you out at some point. This is an experience you have to have. It's worth it. I'll be strolling back in soon enough because there is nothing like this in Austin and it's truly a special space. RIYL: Actively listening to music.

When we walked in, the hostess asked us to return to the first room because she was not at the seating area. She then told us there was no available seating, which was surprising since I had just been inside and saw multiple open seats, including two that had just been vacated. The hostess--her name sounded like Constanza--explained that the room was full because of Memorial Day weekend. When I said we didn't mind waiting since it was only midnight, she then stated they would be closing soon at 1 a.m., even though the posted closing time is 2 a.m. These explanations contradicted each other, and her tone came across as dismissive. She avoided eye contact, offered no real assistance, and ultimately suggested we check for seats ourselves, which felt unwelcoming and unprofessional. For a venue with such a strong reputation, especially on a special occasion, the interaction fell far below expectations. I hope the team can ensure more consistent and courteous service at the host stand moving forward.

Great house music from the DJ, friendly staff, and an easygoing atmosphere that's perfect for hanging out. I was having a sober night and tried a few drinks from their Dry January Specials menu. Wow, they did not disappoint. The Alrighty Aphrodite was delicious, and the So Fresh, So Clean was exactly that, super refreshing with a great pineapple flavor. My husband had the Dusty Trail (strong and perfect for bourbon lovers) and a Coquito that was creamy and smooth with a hint of cinnamon. Parking is limited, but we found street parking nearby. Overall, great drinks, great music, and a spot I'll definitely keep coming back to.

Marlow's has a really in interesting and delicious drink menu. I tried both mocktails (option to add THC) and really enjoyed them both. Most mocktails with NA liquor have honestly tasted a bit weird and a bit off. I usually have one and call it a day. However, I really enjoyed the first one that I tried the second one, which I also liked. The bartenders work amazingly fast and take multiple drink orders at a time and don't miss a beat! There's street parking and during weekdays, it's free to park after a certain hour.
