Our first time here and having TX BBQ. Very tasty and reasonably priced. We arrived at Hobby Airport and were looking for somewhere to eat. This place popped up on my map and it's so close to the airport. The portions looked huge so we got the Child's Plate instead that came with 2 sides and choice of meat and drink. This must be a very good place because it filled up quickly with locals at lunchtime. It's located right off Airport Blvd in a "dodgy" looking strip mall. Had doubts when we saw someone sleeping on the sidewalk nearby. But don't let it deter you, go in for some tasty BBQ and "rustic" ambiance. read more

My family came across this spot while looking for highly-rated bbq by the Hobby airport. Central Texas Bar B Q did not disappoint! We all got an array of menu items like combo plates, loaded potatoes, desserts, and sandwiches. The staff was incredibly friendly. They helped us out with the menu, and my mom with some veggie options. They even asked our feedback about the food, and offered complimentary desserts as a way to thank us! The highlights were definitely the bread pudding, apple pie, and loaded potatoes. The bread pudding amazed my entire family and we ended up ordering more to-go. The area is not the best. There were multiple signs warning visitors not to leave valuables unattended. The parking lot is pretty slow and has plenty of spots available. Inside the restaurant is spacious, with plenty of seating available. Lots of fun decor to look at as well. I definitely recommend for yummy barbeque! read more

*ADJUSTED REVIEW* My initial review used the word "catered", as that is how our school leaders presented the luncheon to us at the start of our meeting. I received a message insinuating that I may have been mistaken about the restaurant that my school ordered a meal from since there was no catering or restaurant staff present to set up and serve the meal to us. Attached is the agenda introducing the name and menu to us which includes the name of the restaurant. I am not trying to troll or be rude, I was simply offering a review as I've done with several other restaurants and or businesses on Yelp based on my experience. I realize my review was not favorable, but it is not exaggerated or targeted, and simply addresses my first experience and impression of this business. It just wasn't great. My school had a catered staff lunch: ham, turkey, potato casserole, green beans, macaroni and cheese, and yams. The sides were all a miss in terms of both taste and presentation; green beans were lacking in flavor, the cheesy potato casserole was dry and almost tasted like instant potatoes, the macaroni and cheese was runny/soupy, and the color of the yams was very "bright". The turkey was ok, but didn't have the flavor or taste that barbecue/smoked turkey usually has and the ham was overly salty. read more

Ate at this place during a long layover, it's so close to the airport we made it there and back no problem. Service is super fast, even if there's a line they keep it moving. This place was alright. I got the one meat brisket place, and wow they really packed it on. I had two meals with the amount of meat I got. However, the meat was dry...It had good flavor, but I wish it had been moist. They also give you two sides with the meal, and I got potato salad and mac and cheese. I also tried the loaded potatoes. The service and employees are great but the BBQ is subpar by far. The chopped brisket isn't even brisket it is a roast or different cut of meat they shredded and is 60% fat. The pork is chopped pork chops not like traditional pulled pork. The ribs are dry and tough. The sides are on a steam table and look like they been sitting for days. This was my first time coming here. The service was outstanding and everyone was super nice! As soon as you walk in the establishment you get a nose full of the good ole BBQ smell. I got the 2 meat lunch special and it comes with 2 sides. I got the brisket and ribs with baked beans and cabbage. In my opinion the brisket was a lil dry but still was good. And the young lady gave me a chunk of the bottom core of the cabbage. The cabbage was really seasoned and soft. The customer service was OUTSTANDING. Tuesday early lunch. Just came out of the airport after an early morning flight and stopped for some lunch. The parking area warns you to lock your car and take all your valuables, we were one of only a few cars so it was a bit concerning but the reviews were awesome so we kept moving. Everywhere we have gone in Houston has these signs so ... So glad we did ... The lunch special we got includes 1 meat, 2 sides and a tea. The serving sizes are huge and so tasty. We took a group from our meetings in the hotel next door here. They gave us a nice area to all sit in 'Dads Place' (name of the back room lol) .
