I asked where was the best place to get barbecue in Texas and I was told to go to T-Bone Tom's. Upon arriving, [[HIGHLIGHT]]I felt like I was in for a treat since the restaurant had a distinctly barbecue theme and was busy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered brisket tacos with fried okra and potato salad. I really loved the okra but everything else was just ok. I wish the brisket was a bit more tender. I enjoyed my visit but my search for the best barbecue in Texas continues.

After passing by numerous times, we stopped for lunch. OH MY GOD! We were missing out. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Everything about this place was spot on, even the music.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff were amazing, especially Juan, with great recommendations. We even met the owner, we was so nice and talkative. My hubby had the marbled brisket with onion rings. I had the steak fingers and steak fries. We shared them. Everything made in house. We absolutely will be back soon.

My husband and I had dinner at T-Bone Tom's, and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the place is huge, lively, and full of fun energy with live music, drinks, and that classic BBQ atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our waiter was attentive and friendly, and service moved quickly. We started with the brisket queso, which came out velvety, smoky, and incredibly flavorful, easily the standout of the night. For our entrée, we shared the two‑meat platter with brisket and sausage; the brisket had good flavor but was a bit chewy and slightly dry, while the sausage was well‑seasoned and tasty. We chose curly fries and mashed potatoes for our sides, both simple but delicious, and my husband especially enjoyed the BBQ sauce since it isn't overly sweet like many others. We had a great time, ate well, and T-Bone Tom's delivered exactly what we were hoping for.

Everything was above expectations for Tbone toms. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The outside makes it look kind of dingy but it's truly a hidden gem and super charming inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The waitstaff was amazing at timeliness, checking in on us, and making great recommendations. The food was amazing in terms of flavor and came out at all the right temps. I really enjoyed the chargrilled chicken and smoked turkey breast. They were both perfectly juicy and tender. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have live music out on the porch and it's such a nice chill vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The margs were amazing and love the happy hour marg too. Came back twice!!

This place has been for a while, with good reason. The food is really good. I tried the sandwich that comes with ribs on top and it was delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Only hiccup was the waitress charging an adult chicken tender/finger meal for my daughter who is 10 and ordered from the kids menu. They did fix it but hate to have to deal with that and bring it up.

Came down from HTX and came together for dinner here after an active day. Ordered grilled pork chops, they give you 2. Can't complain for the great hearty portions. My bf got the fried seafood plate. All solid options. The service was attentive and friendly inside and outside had a live band that had the whole patio full, definitely dining their next visit.

Brought my Father for Father's Day for a steak and he ordered the chopped steak instead! Overall food was okay, brisket was very good but honestly tasted warmed up as did the ribs. Gumbo was not our favorite. Sides were amazing....mac & cheese is all that m&c should be, creamy, piping hot...very good. Fries tasted homemade, fresh cut, very tasty. Potato salad, coleslaw, green beans all very good. Ordered tea, very good and a few Budweisers. Overall food was okay, I feel could definitely step it up a few notches. I will say though, service was wonderful! Waitress gave great suggestions, we were seated promptly, and manager stopped by our table to check in on our meal. Ambiance was laid back, very inviting. Will we be back, for sure...definitely open to try some other items on the menu.

Always great food made better by an awesome team of servers. Portions are a good size, if you leave hungry it's your own fault.

It sits tucked into the middle of a working shipyard and repair station, perched high on stilts, looking out over the boat canal that cuts toward Clear Lake. Boats nose in nearby. Machinery, water, salt air, and the honest clutter of a place that actually does something surround it. That, to me, is already a good sign. The place still has that new-restaurant sheen on it, but not in a sterile, corporate way. It was busy when we went--boaters, locals, the kind of crowd that usually knows where the good fried things live. There was something about it that reminded me of Outriggers under the bridge: casual, loud enough, coastal, and unpretentious in all the right ways. Now, the food. I ordered the shrimp basket, expecting the usual sad parade of frozen, breaded, food-service mediocrity. That is not what showed up. These were real Gulf Coast shrimp, plump and properly fried, with a batter that tasted homemade--cornmeal, spice, crunch, and restraint. Close to perfect, if we are being honest. And the hush puppies? Dangerous. The kind of side dish that stops being a side dish after the first bite. I could have sat there with a basket of those, a cold Shiner Bock, and called it dinner without complaint. The waitstaff and bar crew were friendly, quick, and seemed genuinely glad to be there, which is not nothing. Food came out fast. The whole experience had the rare pleasure of a place exceeding expectations without trying too hard. I went in unsure what to make of Sammy G's. I left knowing exactly what I thought: I will be back, and probably more often than I should.

It is the stalwart staple of the American Republic. I have them add Jalapeños because I am a glutton for punishment. But, I can't count how many times I have ordered this burger and it is juicy, flavorful, hot, calling my name. Just a little too messy to eat free-handed without a tray beneath you. Summertime! Huge staff of waiters, indoor and outdoor seating. Giant covered patio facing the Kemah Port, a field of docked Sailboats. And Kemah's theme park with roller coasters and rides right on the water. So fun, for those of us living farther inland. I feel like I am in a skit from High School Musical 2, summer, summer, summer! Serenity, Madison, Sarah, and Kylie. All very helpful upfront and happy. A slew of guys running around with trays in their hands and accouterments for sweeping and wiping down surfaces. I add Onion Rings because these beasts will remind you why the Onion is King! I also add Fried Pickles and Ranch, because I'm American. And finally order a Squealer Burger for my wife, because I love her. As always: the Loo Review (for my friends in the UK) Wandering back through the tight walls of, what looks like make-shift wooden walls and ceiling, like a shanty built on the waterfront, you find the bathrooms tucked, as usual, way in the back, until the actual bathroom hallway, which is very "up-to-code" clean finished mint painted sheetrock and mahogany wainscoting, just so everybody can rest assured we have your bathroom trip under control. Nothing spectacular, but bright yellow stall divider walls, and large commercial tile slabs, easy to clean with a mop, sinks, uh normal and...yep, nothing to see here... I have literally been online with friends of mine from the UK who were like, "you're at Tookie's!? I have heard of that place, I'm so jealous..." and they should be. You should come grab a burger and some fried treats, as well, maybe I'll catch you there!

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm Mediterranean charm. The restaurant is beautiful, inviting, and filled with Greek-inspired décor. You can choose to dine inside or relax on their lovely outdoor patio. Our waitress, Rachel, was exceptional--friendly, attentive, and genuinely hospitable. She made us feel right at home! We kicked off our meal with a couple of appetizers, and they were every bit as impressive as they were delicious. The hummus was smooth, creamy, and served with warm, fluffy pita bread. We also enjoyed the falafels--perfectly crispy on the outside, soft and flavorful on the inside, and even better dipped in their spicy feta spread! For my entrée, I chose the Lunch Special featuring a savory spinach pie, served with a fresh Greek salad and a cup of their famous Avgolemono (Greek lemon soup) . It was light, comforting, and packed with flavor. My grandson ordered the Chickpea Salad , a dish he loved so much on a previous visit that he couldn't resist ordering it again. That's always a good sign! My husband selected the Stuffed Shrimp Special . The plate was absolutely beautiful--jumbo baked shrimp stuffed with a savory crab dressing, served over a bed of mushroom orzo. It tasted every bit as incredible as it looked! If you're ever in Seabrook, Texas, and you're craving something fresh, flavorful, and satisfying, I highly recommend Athena's Corner Greek Restaurant. You'll enjoy a relaxing atmosphere, outstanding hospitality, and food that's made with care and bursting with authentic flavor. Best Bites Approved! Have you been to Athena's Corner? While randomly Googling, I remembered Boondoggles and decided to give the 'old place' another try. My first visit was for a dinner with classmates from UHCL; my second was with my brother. The eatery looked practically the same as it did nearly eight years ago. Its dive bar meets German beer hall vibe is still very much alive, and the place was still bustling with people. I came in with fish and chips on my mind, but a lengthy scan of the menu led me to the Florentini Chicken, while my brother ordered the shrimp po-boy. The Florentini Chicken was really good, and I think it's a solid choice for the health-conscious. The chicken was tender and the vegetables were perfectly crisp. My only wish was that the entire dish had been a bit larger, as the mashed potatoes were gone in just a few spoonfuls. On reflection, while the Florentini Chicken deserves a try, I'll probably stick with pizza next time. I asked my brother how he liked his shrimp po-boy, and he had no complaints, so I'll take that as a sign he enjoyed it. Price-wise, while the costs may have risen over the years, they were not unreasonable.

We weren't seated in the greater eating area where it was cooler and maybe where the gnats were less of a bother. The food was delicious and homemade, you can tell it was made with high quality ingredients and that Southern skill that you can only get from helping Grandma in the kitchen. BUT the roaches made us lose our appetite. Such a shame. It seemed like the building went down. They don't seem to put as much effort into the condition of that place as they do the food. Dusty ceiling fans and crummy floors. I appreciate the homey vibe but it looked really junky, more stuff piled in unoccupied corners as before. I gave a lot of things the side eye, I mean it there has to be maintained asthetic. They charged an 18% gratuity on my tab for a party of 8 but I arrived with 4 people, the other 4 had already been there, paid and was almost done with their meal. Then of course the cashier/waitress still mentioned an additional, optional tip. I didn't think that was fair. At the end of it all she wasn't the best waitress.
