    Chicken Sandwich!
    Jeneane B.

We were in town for a few days and staying within walking distance of this place, so we walked over for lunch one day. The vibe was "family dive" - and we loved it! Hubby got the oyster po boy, and his only quit bleeding was the tangy sauce they put on it. He wished he would have known it came with a side, because he would have gotten it on the side. I got one of the lunch special fried chicken sandwich options - it was nothing short of amazing! The chicken was larger than the bun, so I was able to cut off a piece to share with the hubs. We also got a side of fries and onion rings - both were top-notch. Can't wait to come back here next time we are in town!

Joe Lee's is where locals eat. So you know it's good and great value. Forget the Kemah Boardwalk! They have a daily special as well as daily lunch specials. Every Tuesday is taco Tuesday, $2.49 taco (fish or shrimp, blackened, grilled or fried). The sauce that came with them was perfect!

It's been a while since we been back to Joe Lee's. We had just left Kemah Boardwalk with the little one and wanted seafood. I have never had a bad experience here. We came in probably about an hour before closing time and staff were very welcoming and amazing. Didn't get a picture of my wife's burger but she had their S.S.B.G ultimate and it was as she remembered it. My platter came out fresh, hot and everything was the delicious. The kiddo ate half the fried fish herself. If you're in Kemah come show your support!

I ordered the red fish plate and it was delicious. The service was great. Ambiance was friendly and family oriented. I will def be back to this hidden gem.

Combo $12. Fried flounder and two stuffed crab.

Wow Kemah has unbelievable hospitality. We ordered the Wednesday special which was $12 for fried flounder, stuffed crab, shrimp slaw, and potatoes. We also ordered the redfish with shrimp, bread, and shrimp slaw. The food outclassed Pappadeaux's for price and quality. Definitely worth a stop. The flounder was light and crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Never had stuffed crab; it seemed more doughy and couldn't detect any bits of crab in it. It was neat tho that it was fried in a crab shell. The lady offered me a drink while I waited. That was very sweet of her. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

We drove 38 miles from SW Houston into Seabrook, Texas (Clear Lake Shores) longing for tasty fried Texas Gulf shrimp and Flounder. We were pleased to find the shrimp as tasty as ever and contrary to recent stories we'd read about faux Texas Gulf shrimp it was good! However, when the flounder arrived we were shocked and disappointed in the lack of taste! The flounder was something other than flounder. It actually tasted like the "Basa" fish we'd had at some other places in Houston. We immediately Told the waitress that it wasn't flounder. We'd all had flounder before and that definitely wasn't flounder. The Cole slaw was missing flavor which was also disappointing and the red sauce along with the tartar sauce use to be so much better. I'm going to say that the fries and shrimp were still good and I'll stick with that next time. The restaurant interior is very welcoming and the ladies working the floor and cash register are very friendly. I should have requested a refund on the fish but decided to bring it home for the neighbors cats. I just couldn't see it being thrown in the trash. Joe Lee's use to be our favorite spot down near Kemah. I'm sure time will pass, we'll forget about last night's experience and we'll drive back for another attempt.

I've been coming here for many years and my most recent visit reminded me why it's stuck around for so long. We came in for lunch on a weekday. While there wasn't a wait, it was still fairly busy with tables moving in and out. The setting is super casual - laminated menus are at the table for use. Our server this time was Kayla, who was super friendly and efficient. I normally go for the Squealer, which is almost a standard burger with lettuce, tomato, and pickles; however the burger patty is sprinkled with bacon throughout. Can you imagine just how great that smells and tastes!? The rest of the table ordered that, but this time I decided to venture out. I went for the Rodeo Burger (Southern), which comes with bbq sauce, bacon, jalapeños, cheese, and topped with their Hula Hoops (onion strings). The burger was SO BIG when it came out, they had to place the top bun next to the burger. I struggled to fit this one into my mouth, as it was so big. But delicious! The patty was juicy and all of the toppings brought the southern flavor together well. For sides, we got the Fried Mushrooms, Onion Rings, Tater Tots, and Sweet Potato Fries. Super healthy, I know. But so dang good. Everything was crispy and steaming hot as you bit into it. All of the sides are very reasonably priced - the mushrooms were under $7 and the rest were even cheaper than that for generous portions. Our table of 4 struggled to finish these, as we were already pretty stuffed from our burgers. I will always appreciate Tookie's for a solid burger in the Clear Lake/Seabrook neighborhood. Aside from the burgers, don't sleep on the amazing patio that looks out to the Kemah marina if the weather is nice!

(Great place, the owners are fantastic, and if you have not been by there, why not? ) Back to the brewery. I was pleasantly surprised by this visit. Perhaps it was because it was after dark, the place was nicely lit, and we sat at the bar. The first time in was in the cold light of day, the place felt like a high school cafeteria and we all turned around and bounced right on out of there. Night time, the cosy lighting, and sitting at the bar with the restaurant (cafeteria feel) behind you is so much better. I found their service lacking for the lack of patrons in the place. Our glasses were empty for far longer than they should have been and we had to wait on our check to leave. The servers did appear to have great conversations with each other at the other end of the bar. Perhaps being more mindful of their customers would be more appropriate. The pluses are the Blueberry Blonde was as good as I remembered and we were introduced to Celtic Cross mead which led to a visit to their meadery. Would I come back? Yes. Whenever I feel called upon to partake of a Blueberry Blonde and when it is evening to avoid that high school cafeteria feel of the place.
