food was great and service was even better. I believe our waiter was named Jeff. We participated in a VW car show on their property and beautiful location.

Great fresh seafood, service and ambiance! Love this place, the food and the views!

Had a great evening w over 50 guests at our 50th Anniversary party upstairs at this lovely restaurant. The food, service and am ambience were excellent! They over performed for us. The lightly fried fish and shrimp were so good and fresh. The french fries were perfect and the vegetables were fresh, hot and eaten by all. This place rocks and treated us all as kings! Thnx to a job well done!

I really like this place. It was a great change of pace from the city. It almost felt like I was out of town somewhere and I guess technically I was, but not really. All the food was super tasty. All the fish and shrimp very fresh. I really enjoy the mixed veggies. They have an outdoor patio area that's right on the water. I have no complaints on anything we tried, even the margarita was good. Our waitress was super friendly and very accommodating. Burger is a win! The meat was so juicy and cooked to perfection. Gumbo surprisingly had a really good flavor. They did have quite a few onions and green peppers. It didn't mess up the flavor, but it felt like I was eating more of that than the meat. Fish with scallops and shrimp was seasoned well. Must try!

My friend and I visited right at sunset, and we had a beautiful view! The dining room is fun with a giant fishing lure and a boat hanging from the ceiling. Outdoors, the big party pavilion looked fun, too. I tried the lobster bisque, and it was super chunky with lots of lobster! My friend had the seafood gumbo, and she said it was delicious. For dinner, our very nice waiter recommended the redfish deluxe topped with the crab and shrimp. I loved the tequila sauce! My friend had the grilled shrimp. We both enjoyed the veggies. We were so full that we couldn't even eat dessert. It was a really enjoyable dinner.

We drove 45 miles to have lunch here. It was a beautiful cool and sunny day in Houston and this was the perfect spot. Nestled right on the water with five docks for boat guests and also features a boat ramp, this is a large restaurant with outdoor dining and two event spaces. Once you get onto the property you would gauge where to park based upon how other vehicles are positioned, it's a dirt gravel and sand lot with no lines. There is ample parking and the wind that greets you is very refreshing. We were kindly greeted upon entry and immediately sat. As you can imagine, a oceanfront restaurant will feature window tables that immerse you with the outside environment and immediately beyond that glass are outdoor tables set just the right distance away so as not to interfere with the guests inside by the window. Our server Lauren greeted us and inquired if we've dined with them before, that was a great question, I think all servers should ask that question. Lauren guided who needed guidance and informed us all of specials and answered our questions regarding modifications and made a few suggestions. Perfect. We immediately got the Oysters Diablo and a round of beers. The Oysters Diablo was presented on a heavy metal serving dish with indentations for each oyster to fit into, served with American Baguette (mediocre) roast rounds and a lemon wedge. This dish, sans the bread, was so delicious, will order next time I visit for sure. We then followed up with some more beer and the entrees, my partners ordered from the lunch menu and I opted for the regular menu, for we did drive quite a while to get here and I figured we could share from one another's plates. They opted for some fried seafood and I got the pecan crusted Snapper with the Redfish setup (lump crab and WGC shrimp and scallops in a butter sauce), OH WOW! This meal was executed to perfection, balance in all flavor notes and the fish had a moist, firm and flaky texture, I mean just WOW! I was very impressed, so impressed I can take my wife here now . Lauren was fantastic and attentive, funny and professional, she made the experience that much better. They have a gift shop with merch as you enter and this is where the restrooms are located, at the front of the restaurant.

The atmosphere alone is worth it! There are super neat swinging benches/tables outside overlooking the water. I didn't get a pic bc they were occupied but man they were cool!!! We sat inside in a corner with glass windows on all sides. It was perfect - my kids watched the birds, boats, fisherman cleaning their catches, etc. plus all of the fun decor inside. The food was good. I didn't love my redfish, but the shrimp & scallops were great! We had a ton of apps that I forgot to take pics of too - torpedos, calamari, mozzarella sticks - all delicious!! I loved that they came w ranch & marinaras. Also not pictured was the gigantic and delicious chicken fried steak! Our table order CF steak & chicken - both were amazing & I wish I got a pic before they were devoured. We also had 3 desserts: blueberry bread pudding (hands down, the best dessert of the 3), key lime pie (I would not recommend - it wasn't the right consistency/ too thin/runny), and chocolate mousse cake (a fan favorite for the kids). Full transparency, our waitress was pretty grumpy and didn't seem like she was having a good shift. The bartender was super friendly and made up for the customer service that was lacking from the server.

Mmmm my new favorite seafood restaurant this place is a hidden gem!! The service is friendly and make you feel like family, the fact you are on a dock and see boats roll up and the ocean out the windows all around the restaurant make it top tier place to sit and enjoy amazing seafood. They even have rocking tables outside which are unique.

Service and location are great. Fun outdoor dining at sunset. Food? not so much. The Wahoo special was ok, the fish being great and the jalapeño cream sauce awful. Vegetable sides were generous and fresh but needed seasoning. The Redfish with shrimp and scallops was covered in old grease and ruined the dish. Completely. Only highlight was the Diablo Oysters.

Date night and I have to say for a Friday service was on point. Our server was attentive for being as busy as he was. Drinks were decent, not as strong as I would have liked it. I was kind of disappointed with the Royal Red shrimp because it was overcooked and gritty. The oysters were in point so that made up for the royal red shrimp. The fried fish and shrimp were good, the coleslaw I was crazy about but the fries made up for that. All in all it was good. It was kind of warm but not terrible.

The restaurant is right in the water. The ambiance is awesome. They have a sea vibe and the decor is nice. The wait staff is very friendly and the service was excellent. The food was awesome and the portions are very generous. Well with the drive out there and fun for the whole family.

Hidden Gem in San Leon Top Water Grill is hands down one of the most hidden gems in San Leon. Despite the abundance of seafood eateries in the area, this place stands out as top-notch from the moment you walk through the doors. You are greeted by a professional and welcoming staff that makes you feel right at home. The food is absolutely delicious and fresh, with mouth-watering dishes that make you want to come back again and again. If you are a local, you'll most definitely find yourself returning frequently. And if you're just passing through as a tourist, you will never forget this place. A special shoutout goes to Charlie, the manager. He is by far the nicest gentleman you will ever meet and truly has everything running smoothly, from the attentive waitstaff to the incredible freshness of the seafood served. With the best curb appeal in town and stunning views of the bay, Top Water Grill is hands down one of my favorite go-to restaurants in San Leon.

My family and I were in Galveston and decided we want to grab lunch before heading back to town. I…read moreremembered the name Pier 6 from two different group of friends so thought I should look it up and see where it was on the map. Luckily, it was somewhat on the way back so we decided to give it a try. Rolling through San Leon made us question if we were going to the right place. It didn't feel lively and definitely was not giving 'Coastal Chic', like how Pier 6 has been described. Upon arrival, it was a totally different vibe and 'Coastal Chic' is a fitting description for the place. We were seated right away and they offered a high chair for our little one. We started out with fresh oysters and a flight of margaritas. If you're an oyster fan, it's worth getting the oysters. Super fresh. The flight presentation was so beautiful. My husband and I had fun trying the different margaritas. The blue one was coconut flavored. It reminded me of a piña colada but with tequila. We were surprised that we liked this one. The pink one was watermelon flavored. We could taste the smokiness of the mezcal in it. This was a nice, not sweet drink. The white one was their classic take on margarita. We thought this one was too sweet for our taste buds. The orange one was mango and I think chamoy. This reminded me of the Mexican candy Lucas - sweet and tangy. All drinks were finished. LOL Now to the main dishes. My husband had the Mahi Mahi and said the fish was fresh and had a good amount of seasoning on it. The risotto and mushroom was a solid pairing with it. He cleared the dish. I had the tomato salad and clam chowder. Their tomato salad was so good. It was light and refreshing. I love that there were dill and capers too. Their clam chowder is definitely different compared to others I've had. The soup was more like a light creamy broth. The clam is served whole. Oyster crackers were also in it vs served on the side. Even though it was different, I didn't mind it and killed everything. Service was as expected for the time of day. Overall, we enjoyed our experience and would make the trip to the San Leon area again. A few notes: Pier 6 does have a kids menu and there's changing table in the restroom, along with some diapers. This place is in between Kemah and Galveston. It's about 15 minutes drive from Kemah and 25-30 minutes drive from Galveston.

Well I realize I completely forgot to write a review for Pier 6 when we came to visit in November…read more2025. Pier 6 menu changes from time to time. We had ordered: * Thai salad : 1/5 nothing Thai about this salad and it was terrible. * 2 dozen raw oysters: 4/5 decent good for Nov. * seafood gumbo: 1/5 we had the gumbo here before and it was decent but this time it was not the same and tasted like burnt roux which should never be served. * burger with a gravy sauce: 1/5 The brown sauce was pour around the burger and the burger was placed in the center. The burger bun was soggy and the worst burger we ever had. It was the strangest burger because we couldn't pick it up to eat it since it was soggy from the pour of the brown sauce. This burger was $25+ which was uneatable. The beef patty was unseasoned and dry. Fast forward March 2026, after the last dining experience we almost didn't want to come back. Only reason was for the oysters. We were happy to see the items that we really enjoyed was back on the menu! *Only fried shrimp $24.99: 5/5 comes with coleslaw, stellar jalapeño hush puppies which is the best I've had!, and fries. The shrimp is fresh and good size! Nothing beats a texas gulf shrimp! *Tide to fried $28.99- 4/5 comes with fried tx gulf shrimp, fried oysters, and fried red snapper, Cole slaw, hush puppies, and fries. The fired oysters were so good!!!! Like wow and well seasoned! So fresh! The shrimp is perfect! Red snapper super disappointed because it was super fishy. I do not recommend the fried red snapper. Next time definitely get the only shrimp or only oysters combo and pass on the tide to fried which included the fried snapper. *3 dozen oysters - $14.99 per dozen: 5/5 the oysters in March a plump and juicy! So much better than Nov (early season) oysters. The oysters Unfortunately had shells from shucking the oysters so when eating them I bite into shell and thought I almost cracked a tooth. Quality of the oysters great 5/5. The shucking and handle of the oysters 1/5. No guest should eat shuck raw oysters bite on shell. That's a law suit waiting to happen and I hope this establishment does better because we love their freshness of their oysters. *Ocean water $6 happy hour : 5/5 reminds me of sonic ocean water except spiked lol *Watermelon slush $6 happy hour: 1/5 it was so strong and I felt the smokiness was too much. Love the ocean water more because it hides the alcohol and easy to drink. Service was meh. The place was packed at 5pm on a Friday. Not sure why our entrees and drinks came out before our appetizers which I felt was inappropriate. We had to flag down our waiter a few times for items. He did check in with us once after we got our food and took our first bites. Do I recommend Pier 6? Based on this recent visit I am glad I didn't write them off and yes. The food was great minus the oyster cleanliness. Definitely a favorite place for oysters and the best fried shrimp/oyster plate the area and Galveston even. Only negative is the blasting of the music. It's so loud we can not hear our conversation and will induce you a guarantee headache. It does not matter if you sit inside or outside.. it's the same noise level which is concert loud. The videos killer outside and so beautiful but I feel the blaring of music takes away from the charm of this place. If you are into rowdy loud places this is for you. Other than that, maybe distract one self by ordering happy hour drinks so it helps with the intense loud music.

Based on previous reviews I was expecting this festival to kinda suck but it was really great!…read more We pre purchased tickets and took our 5 year old with us. Check-in/entry could have been smoother. There was a serious lack of shade all over the fest but the weather was perfect so it didn't ruin the afternoon. I recommend dressing comfortably with decent shoes as the grounds are gravel-like. The lines moved quickly, there were plenty of oysters( Being served even up until 7:00 pm-ish). There were plenty of decent vendors. We really enjoyed our time at the fest! One thing that I wish would change is that the kid zone was near the entrance gates and all of the actual festival action was further away from the gates... it would have been nice to sit and enjoy the music but also have an eye on the kid zone if you're a parent.... it's worth trying out relocating the kid zone. .
