Actually I was very skeptic about this place, my buddy said they had some good crawfish. Upon arrival there basically wasn't any cars in the parking lot and the building looked really run down. Inside was not really better, very old looking, also went to bathroom to wash up and there was an odor from the water. Thought I was in for a bad experience, but was totally surprised on how good everything was. Our waitress was very tentative and prompt and welcoming. We ordered spicy calamari, great amount of calamari and the hit of spice was detected. Fried nicely as well. I had the gumbo which the dark rue is how i like it, good amount of ingredients and the cup filled to the top that when putting the rice in it overflowed. Crawfish it was called curry style, was thinking there were going to be some hint of Indian flavoring, it wasn't. Though it was very delicious, very buttery/garlicky and another seasoning I couldn't put my finger on, but they were delicious. Eight years is enough time for the unpleasantness I experienced with this place to pass. My mother and I went here earlier today after I ran an errand to fulfill her craving for crawfish. Given that it's the fifth Friday of Lent, I still have to keep abstaining from meat so I ordered a fried fish platter. The platter consists of two nicely battered fish (forgive me for not knowing what kind it is), an ample serving of fries, and a salad. Mom, of course, had her crawfish. I'm happy to report that we both were satisfied with our meals. Mine was about nine bucks, which was three bucks cheaper than what most churches' fish fry celebrations were offering. The kitchen staff wasn't stingy with the fish; the pieces I got were pretty huge. It occurred to me that I love fish and chips as much as the British do. The young lady who served us did an outstanding job. When I asked for a go-to cup to put my iced tea in, she offered to give me a whole new drink. Came here randomly during my lunch break. This is definitely a hidden gem. Food was delicious. I got the 1 fish, 6 shrimp, gumbo and salad lunch special for $12.99. The peices of fish were big, fries-decent, salad-fresh. The fish was fried to a good crisp. Pretty tasty too. Even though the salad was made with only lettuce, it was fresh lettuce. I liked it. I even saw the people from the table behind us get up and walk out because their waitress brought out their drinks, but never came back to check on them nor take their order. These employees must not care, they must want their business to go down under. The cocktail sauce wasn't even cocktail, it looked like ketchup. It tasted like spicy ketchup. That didn't sit well with me. This is supposed to be a SEAFOOD RESTAURANT! Seriously, no cocktail sauce with horseradish?!!! That's crazy. At first, I did think this place would be way better than Baytown Seafood, but it was about the same bad service. I don't even know why people like bad service, OR they probably treat other ethnic groups better. I guess they don't like black people or they are biased. I don't know, but they need to change and change real quick. No matter what your race is a person should never treat others with disrespect. I will not be coming back to this seafood place. Yesterday my friends and I decided to get some crawfish since they were raving about this seafood spot that has curry flavored crawfish. We decided to come here together. I was hesitated at first because I am a very picky crawfish person. Plus, crawfish is never cheap to begin with. I gave in and ordered 4 pounds. 2 lbs garlic butter and 2 lbs currry. The price market was $8.99 for Garlic and $7.99 for the curry. My other friends order almost additional 10 lbs for themselves. We waited roughly about 35 mins to get our order, which is understandable. When we got home, we went right in. Holy crap, it was so close to the LOWEST quality crawfish I have ever tasted in my life. THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO FLAVORS for the curry crawfish. NONE! It was basically plain crawfish. Then I decided try to the garlic, it is decent to where I would have to dip the crawfish in the sauce around it to get the flavor and it was barely any flavor. The garlic that they use was the pre-minced container ones. I basically wasted $40 worth of crawfish when I could spend it somewhere else. My boyfriend said the crawfish looked extra dirty that he wouldn't even suck the heads. Around 2 am that night. I had crazy stomache and I immediately knew it was from the crawfish. I'm sorry, this place is no bueno. Maybe for the folks that like Louisiana style- where it is salty, dry and unflavored. I'm just extremely disappointed. I low key wants my money back because it wasn't worth it. I normally eat FROZEN CRAWFISH at my favorites place in November to celebrate my birthday and even the price was $11.99 lb, it was absolutely worth it. read more

Our go-to menu items are the fried pickles, fried calamari, grilled salmon w/ fried rice, 3-6 piece fried or grilled shrimp & grilled veggies, and crawfish! This is another place where you have to rate it based on what it's meant to be. It's not going to hold up to a fancy fine-dining restaurant in star ratings, but it was never meant to be fancy fine dining. This is a dive seafood place, with fried and fresh seafood, and you just can't beat that. I admit the menu is, uhm, mixed eclectic, if there even is such a thing. I mean, boudin balls and eggrolls with fried catfish and frog legs... really? Fried rice and cornmeal catfish? Strange match there. But the cole slaw is really good and fresh and cold and sweet and crisp--the creamy type, not the vinegary type. you can get some strange things for some folks, like fried calimari (a fave of mine), fried pickled (a fave of my daughter) and fried gator, which is quite good! You can also get fried and sauteed frog legs! Yum! And in season, the crawfish boil is amazing. So the other night, we were at home, and I recently got out of the hospital, so we decided to order takeout. You always hesitate takeout at places that aren't 'fast food', because you never know how it's going to turn out. So I've attached a picture of the stuffed red snapper meal with the fresh veggies. The put clarified butter in a little container with a lid--it was beautiful butter. The fish was just gorgeous. For a takeout dish, i was truly impressed. Some of their items are priced perfectly--and some are expensive. They serve fried scallop (which I'd never had before--love scallops, but wasn't sure about fried ones--to me, the whole point of the scallop is to be sauteed and seared perfectly with that melt-in-your-mouth butteriness.)-- I have to say, fried scallops aren't bad. They are still soft and good, but I still prefer the sauteed ones to the fried. For takeout, they package things nicely. It's styrofoam, but it's packaged so things don't fall over and mix or ruin. They put liquids in bowl containers with lids and package cocktail and tartar sauce with the takeout. They take call in orders and you can pick up at the window without ordering at the first window. So if you're looking for some good fried or grilled fish, they have it for you! It's fresh, too, especially if you stick with the local fish like the red snapper and catfish. The tilapia was super good too. the breading on the fish works great, but on the shrimp and scallops, it tended to fall off. Flavor was okay too, though. All said and done, it's a decent place to eat when you're wanting some easy and cheap seafood or fried fish. Not bad at all! read more

The owners definitely took time to fix up the restaurant during mandatory Quarantine. They fixed up the place with new paint and took precaution to keep customers socially distant from each other! All servers had face masks on and was very polite to our group. The food have always been good, I've eaten here with my friends on the way to Galveston for some fishing when I am in town. Their crawfish is DELICIOUS! It really lives up to the hype, and you can ask for EXTRA EXTRA EXTRA Spicy. My parents moved down on 646 for over 2 years now and today I decided to take my mom out here for crawfish instead of traveling 45 minutes to Bellaire. We came in around 6pm and it's pretty empty, maybe 3 tables at the most. We were told to pick a table and be seated. The menu is fairly big and I opted for crawfish étouffée and 2 pounds of crawfish medium spicy. Crawfish étouffée: I felt it was too thick and not enough flavor. I probably won't reorder. This item came with a salad and it was fresh and crisp! Crawfish: to my surprise it was really good! I will totally come back.
