Bayou Grille describes itself as a Cajun eatery. This caught my eye as I was craving some awesome Cajun food. When I walked in, I was struck by the different themes I saw. On one wall, there is a clear fishing theme. The second wall was dedicated to sports. The final wall, showed off their burgers. I was a bit confused because when I go to new places, I am interested in what that restaurant prides itself in. Online, bayou grille is a Cajun place. In person, it's a burger spot. I asked the waiter to give a recommendation. He stated that the country fried steak was the best on the menu. I ended up trying the grilled catfish and dirty rice. I wanted to try Cajun food. The food was okay. It wasn't bad by any means, but it wasn't anything to write home about. The catfish had good flavor and the dirty rice did as well. If I do visit again, I'd probably try a burger. read more

The service was wonderful and the food was decent. I was taken care of so well! I ordered the tilapia grilled with 2 sides of mashed potatoes with gravy and fried okra. First time visiting this restaurant. We'd been to the location before when occupied by a different business. I stopped mostly because of familiarity with the spot. I can say that I was VERY pleased with my meal. Ordered the pan seared red snapper with dirty rice and fried okra. All items were well presented, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. I think the portion size was generous enough and a solid value. Others in my party ordered one of their signature burgers, bacon cheese fries, chicken wings, and sweet potato fries. Everything looked and tasted delicious with the only complaint I could muster being the size of the chicken wings. Still not a bad cost/food ratio but the reality is they weren't big. Located on the east side of Pearland, close to Friendswood, sits this hidden gem. I've had it bookmarked for awhile and recently got invited to dinner here. It is a cozy restaurant in a strip center with a couple of other eateries. When we arrived, there was only one other table occupied. Usually that makes me nervous, but this place proved me wrong. Soon after sitting, and by the time we left, the place was packed. Our waitress was excellent and we got great service throughout dinner. I was in the mood for fried seafood, so I went with the fried shrimp and crawfish combo. It came with two sides, so I chose fries and dirty rice and added Cajun corn. The shrimp and crawfish were seasoned great and was fried to perfection. The sides were tasty but the portions were kind of small. I did leave slightly hungry. My wife ordered crawfish and added corn, sausage, and potatoes. I did not have high expectations for the crawfish, but it was so good and had the heat level we love. The sausage was nice and meaty and a great addition to the crawfish. My daughter had popcorn shrimp which had the same seasoning as my shrimp. Now the show stopper out of all our meals was my son's meal. He ordered a regular cheeseburger with a side of buffalo fries. Let me tell you, that burger surprised us all! It was seasoned perfectly and sat on a delicious bun. My only complain was that the specialty fries were and additional four bucks. For that much, I expect a side plate of fries that could be shared. All he got was a small handful of fries on the same plate as the burger with a little sauce drizzled on top. The price does not match up with what you get. Overall, this is a solid option if everyone in your party is torn on what to eat. Bayou Grill has variety and the food is delicious. Prices are great for the most part with a few exceptions. I love to go to Bayou Grill often for the 24 pieces of shrimp and fries. There maybe only one time I have gone there and got fresh fried shrimp & fries, you tell them how you want it, so you sit there and wait for your food. Once I got shrimp fried in flour and tasted just like chicken, so on this past Tuesday, 01oct2024 for my same order, he brought my order out and I asked him was it just cooked his reply was yes. My mistake for not checking my food this time, in the meantime you see some of his customers eating the same thing I order nice fresh and crunchy and hot (of course white customer), so long story short my shrimp was old and fried a second time, fries old and brown, hard and cold, I get home which is exactly 9minutes from Bayou Grill on 1635 Broadway St #117 Pearland TX 77581, my food had so much oil at the bottom of the bag you would've thought that the food was fried in the bag. I don't think they even have a holding station for food in the back. Asians will not give you credit a free meal for their mess up and will give you and argument about their services and food. The workers continue to turn over because it is hard for him to keep waiter and waitresses there, sometimes he is his own waiter and cook; says a lot about Bayou Grill Pearland TX busines. So if you're not black or brown maybe you will get good service. Asians are very mean, rude and nasty with black customers. I never see a score posted anywhere A+ to F letter on their rating with the BBB, this business needs to be closed down like ASAP, a lot needs to changed at this place! read more

Found this place from twitter and I decided to try it out since it was so close to my house. The portions are very large and you get so much food at such an affordable price! I got the catfish and shrimp platter with curly fries and mashed potatoes and my friend got a burger. My platter was very good, it came with so much food!! I couldn't even finish it and my friends helped me as well. My friend got the burger and although I didn't try it, she said that the burger was so good, if not better than Poptop burgers or one of those specialty burger restaurants. Not to mention this is a seafood focused restaurant!! The burger was only $8-9 and included a side which is such a good deal!!! The only downside is that they upcharged $2 for me to get curly fries when my friend noticed they tasted awfully similar to the great value frozen curly fries .... the other food was still really good though. The mashed potatoes had a lot of flavor, especially the gravy, you could tell they made it from scratch. Also the tartar sauce was bomb!! I will definitely be coming back to try more items. I am giving this play 2 stars for the exceptional service. Otherwise I could only give them one star. The food was subpar. The blackened catfish and the buffalo shrimp were just okay. The mashed potatoes and gravy had an odd taste that I couldn't eat it. The fried okra was too crunchy. The asparagus was average and so was the corn on the cob. The sodas did not have the right syrup/carbonation combo. We tried this place due to other revues and now wish we wouldn't have. My group all left dissatisfied with our meal. Honestly, I was skeptical when I pulled up and saw this strip center restaurant. It was a Saturday evening and there wasn't another customer in sight. We had our pick of tables and the server was knowledgeable of the menu and answered all questions professionally. I opted for the Texas BBQ burger and the Cajun spicy fries. I was reading Justin T, review and he was spot on about this place I have been here many times. It's pretty close to where I live and anytime my wife wants mud bugs I hop on the roller skates and head over. Just kidding I drive over for a to go order and snatch up a burger some some times. I have sat and ate a time or two and had a cold beer to go with my food. This place is rarely crowded and has fast service with friendly people. Terrible crawfish. Possibly the worst I've ever had. About 1 out of 7 crawfish tasted like rotten fish. The potatoes and mushrooms we added were also terrible. Do not recommend and would never come back. Also the bathrooms were pretty nasty. A little sad to see BoNe Houston shut down but went in to try it anyway. The food is a little similar to BoNe's menu but with a little more options. A good thing about Bayou is the variety of things you can choose from. Where else can you grab a burger, bowl of gumbo, and Vietnamese shaking beef? This is now my favorite Louisiana style seafood restaurant in the state of Texas! If you're from Louisiana you'll love this place. I was trying to stay on the healthy side, so I got grilled shrimp, mixed vegetables, and Cajun corn. The shrimp was grilled with some onion, and it was fantastic. The broccoli and zucchini had an ice char on them (in the good way), and the corn was sweet while I was eating it, but my lips burned from the Cajun seasoning after. I'd get it all again next time. This was my first time at Bayou Grill and I came specifically for crawfish. Since it's December and not prime crawfish season, I was very surprised to know that they had live crawfish. Man, through the recommendations of friends on other sites, I went to @Bayougrill1635 for lunch today and had the Double cheeseburger with bacon....mmmmmmmm, mmmmmmmm, good! I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty that burger is, and it was huge! Every time we go in there, no one is there, and that tends to scare people off. I like the fact that I do not have to wait in line but I do not want them to close either, so people, don't be scared, this place is legit! We have eaten the seafood, the craw-fish and now the burgers and it is all truly Delicious!! I still wish that they had a liquor license but I'm over it now. :) read more
