Been here a couple of times and the food is really good here! I ordered the brisket fries as well as the truffle burger. Killens does bbq well and the brisket shines in the fries. We came here on a Sunday afternoon , it wasn't too packed so there was plenty of seatings for large parties or groups. We proceeded to the register to order our food. It came out 10 minutes later. Food was hot, but quite greasy. Flavors for my chicken Philly was okay. They do give huge portions so possibly shareable. My daughter got the Philly cheesesteak and stated it wasn't great, she preferred mozzarella cheese but I think hers had cheddar instead. Burger was good, decent not out of this world. Driving by this place for months and finally had a chance to stop by and see what these guys have to offer. The ambiance is cool even with a decent amount of people the day we stopped by, and they bring your food out within reasonable time. Had to go with the double meat, double cheese "Killens Special" which seemed larger than I thought but it did the job that evening. Their fries are fresh, crispy and soft at the same time which is always a plus from any burger joint! I love this local joint! The food comes out quick, and service is very friendly. Everything on the menu is done to the high standard of the Killen's name. We've had a lot from the menu and nothing ever comes short of quality food. Condiments are serve yourself along with kindly put away your own trays because we're all functioning adults. The restaurant itself is clean. There is plenty of parking, and the bathrooms are clean. We love supporting local, but specifically local businesses like Killen's Burgers who are always thinking of the community. During the storms, they've provided food for the community. Then they have been doing $1 cheese burger days to feed everyone who didn't get a chance to make it to the first day they did it. Long wait time, my burger kept falling apart. The portions were way too large. I think the restaurant could lower its prices if they served smaller burgers and had meal combos instead of having you order fries separately for $5.00! I liked the ambience. The JJ Whaat picture on the wall was cool. The 1950's diner style really made me feel like the restaurant was older than it was. I think if you are going here for your family be prepared to spend too much money and get too much food for one person. The regular burger is enough for two to share. If disappointment were a burger, Killen's would be serving combo meals. The bun was soggier than my will to live after waiting 25 minutes for something that tasted like a middle school cafeteria experiment. The fries were limp, the "signature sauce" tasted suspiciously like ketchup with an identity crisis, and the staff acted like smiling might cost extra. Burgers had very fresh ingredients and seasoned just right. Fries were all cooked crisp with a good soft center. Order and pickup at the counter, and grab to go bags if you need them. The burgers are still good but I like a good beer with my burger. My wife likes Michelob Ultra and I like Shiner Bock or Crawford Bock. It was never an issue until the last couple months. I love Killen's brisket and my husband kindly shared the plentiful amount of brisket with me and dang, probably the best burger I have ever had (which says a lot because my mom makes a mean burger). We also tried the cheese curds which isn't squeaky fresh like Wisconsin so ding on that. The great thing is that they have their famously good sweet tea and lemon!
