The food was all pretty good, I was hoping for more of a kick but not spicy at all, even from the salsa verde (just tasted creamy). Paid in cash. Overall good prices and decent food, nothing mind blowing though. The hotdog grande with everything is 5$ (bacon wrapped with jalopeno and everything), tacos fajitas was 2.50$ (avg price and was good). The elote entero (corn on cob) was 3.50$ and was prob my favorite, the mayo, Parmesan, tajin, and sauce was delicious, definitely can't go wrong with it. read more

One of South Houston's most famous food carts, the Hotdog and Corn Guy is literally all that and then some (#1). It's become a rite of passage for street food loving folks, which is often the case for aa lunch time snack or a late night . While I can't say I was impressed with everything I had, I am pleased it was all simple and affordable. The first thing is the corn, which in this case is elote (on the cob) or elote en vaso (#2), which is served in a syrofoam cup. The condiments are self serve, so the toppings are as up to the customer. I personally likes of lime, cotija chese, chile powder, and a nice slab of butter. Some of my corn pieces in both the cob and cup version were a tinge dry, but it was enjoyable as a whole. Their Mexican style hot dog is likely the best thing they have. Wrapped in bacon and decked out in a myriad of peppers, onions, jalapeños, tomatoes, and sauces, it is a hefty dog for less than $5. There is a smaller sausage version for kids, but it's rarely available. They also have fajita tacos for $2 each. There are no other meats available, but the portions are very generous. Sadly, the tacos were average at best and the salsa verde was underwhelming. i also didn't appreciate the old limes that were just thrown into the bag without being separated in its own. Spanish is preferred and this is a cash only business. Seating options are zero, so plan to eat this on the small counter space on the spot, or back in the car for a takeout / take home date. This would be an excellent option for a casual lunch or a snack in the near-wee hours of the evening. __________ (#1) Tacos, mainly. (#2) Known in other circles as "esquite." read more

My family was talking about elotes and how back then it was $1.50 back in California. It popped into my mind to find a spot in the Houston area as we were visiting. I don't often eat elotes in Texas as the ones I have tried are either too little or super expensive, in my opinion. He is selling elotes for $3, BUT they are good. I came back basically three days in a row. Friendly fella, and if I'm ever in the area again, this is going to be the spot. read more

Great dogs and corn. We eat here at least once a month! Always good food, good service, good prices

Loved how the hot dog has a bacon wrapped around to give a different flavor while craving into the hot dog (Hot Dogs Grande). The Elote en Vaso was good with the cheese (really liked it), and it was kind of the owner to ask me if I wanted the hot sauce (tried a little, and it was spicy hot). Also, the Tacos en Fajita was awesome!! Very cost effective eats!! read more

Everytime we go shopping at HEB there is a line forming for this guy. Recently, I hadn't had dinner so opted to grab something to eat too. There was about 2 people in front of me but he works fast on the grill. I got a hotdog all the way (minus mustard). The grilled onions were delicious. I also had an order of the corn. This was my first time getting corn in a cup, and I am in love. It is like cream corn but you have the option of adding in hot sauce! read more

It's funny he has a page, anywho I ordered an elote and it was so good, I liked how he didn't add too much mayo or chilli. The corn had a buttery sweet taste to them. Nice snack on a hot sunny day. I've heard my dad say the hot dogs are good, but I won't be sampling any unless he serves vegan hot dogs. Food cart outside of the right entrance near the watermelons of HEB. read more

Corn in a cup is amazing! It's right at the entrance of HEB. I haven't tried offer items but the guy in front of me got the street tacos - smelled and looked great! read more

Best hot dogs and corn I've had since we've moved to Pasadena hands down!!! Absolutely one of our regular places from now on.

This guy has skills! My sister and law and I ordered elote en vaso and two bacon wrapped two hot dogs. The elote was perfect and delightfully spicy! The hot dogs were this amazing culinary masterpiece of bacon wrapped meat topped with a variety of condiments, grilled onions, and pickled jalapeños! We will go back and recommend this place to anyone in the area. It's obvious that this guy enjoys his job and takes pride in his work. Go see him and get some awesome food! read more

Yummy unassuming hot dog stand! This is a hot dog stand located in front of H-E-B, he's usually there from about noon to 9pm every day. The hot dogs are wrapped in bacon, topped with mayo, mustard, ketchup, grilled onions, tomatoes, and pickled jalapeños. the corn is delightful, with mayo, sour cream, hot sauce, and cheese on top. Everything is always hot, fresh, and made to order. He always uses gloves and has a hand washing station, everything is clean, and sanitary. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed! read more

This guy is good! Dogs are on point but dang he's slow as hell. I get the whole fresh food but dude is physically incapable of making 2 orders at a time even if each order was 1 hotdog. Sometimes not worth the wait but if there's no one line or there's only 1 person....try these. You won't be disappointed. Otherwise get ready to wait 20 minutes. read more
