Pull up an order or call it in. They are always quick with it. Pretty good prices compared to others around. The food items come with a good portion of meat that don't let you down. Parking can be kind of funny sometimes but all else fells park on the outer edges. Usually it's pretty chill unless you catch the after club crowds then it can get kind of loud. They even hook it up with I believe every $5-$10 a order you get frijoles charros (bean soup). Check it out sometime but be aware of your surroundings lol read more

DISGUSTING not only the drink they expected me to drink but also the lady taking orders attitude when politely asked in Spanish if she could switch my Rusty Moldy drink for a new one. The Mold was exposed once opened. At first she refused to change my beverage for one that I could actually drink. I continued to ask for a different drink and was told no, unless I paid for another one. Until, I started showing the person in line behind me what I was served. The man agreed and said it was gross and that it must be old. After being persistent about how wrong they are for serving something that could possibly make a customer sick. The lady finally asked a man next to her and hesitantly replacing my apple soda... customer service is a zero from me. El servicio merece cero estrellas. read more

El Jalapeño - close up of a bottle of soda - Mexican Near Me - Houston, Texas

Im updating my review because something seems to have changed with the customer service the last few times we've been here. Today we called in a order and she put us on hold which we understand it's a weekend and it's very busy so that's not the issue. So when the women asks us what we would like to order we were rushed the whole time and we added one more thing and she told us what else do we want she doesn't have the time to be on the phone taking orders that's she's too busy!! The whole entire conversation she was very rude. It's unfortunate we love this place but there's tons of other taco trucks in the area we can try but we will never go here again. You would think this place would treat there paying customers a little better. read more

Food truck on Edgebrook across from Tino's Tailor shop. A crowd around at noon, but line moved quickly and food served within 4 minutes. Ordered the Quesadilla Grande el Pastor. All by itself...wonderful, but with the green sauce and onions...amazing! read more

If the hubs says, "let's get tacos" El jalapeño is where we are going. The meats are delicious and prices are great. I love the quesadillas and tacos de tripa. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed. Pro-tip: call before you order or you will be waiting a while for your food. read more

Tacos are really good, but man oh man... The customer service from the ladies answering the phone is horrible. Very unprofessional. They'll pickup the phone without saying anything and they'll have you hold for a few minutes without them letting you know that you were actually put on hold. (They're hoping for us to hang up). They take your order on the phone like you're annoying them for calling. (Instead of appreciating our business). They end the call by asking the name that the order will be under and once you give them the name they hangup. You get no estimated time in which your order will be ready, no total amount for your order nor a simple goodbye. RUDE!! If someone doesn't like they're job making us delicious tacos, then they should give it up. They should move on to flip a burger or fry some chicken nuggets for a change. Maybe they'll enjoy that job a little better. I blame El Jalapeños poor management for allowing their employees to treat us customers that way. NONE of the other taco trucks have ever been rude, EVER. All we want is some darn tacos and not someones bad attitude. read more

Full disclaimer I have never been to this place during the day or even at a reasonable hour. Don't judge. El Jalapeño is my place for late night eats. Bring cash, expect a wait after 2. Come before the bar crowd between midnight and 1:30 and boom you have the freshest best late night tacos. I only ever get the bistek street tacos but I had a gordita once, I was blown away. Don't come here expecting a classy crowd or good parking. You should strategically park for a quick get away because I have gotten stuck here and forced to gorge on my tacos in public... the outrage read more

My favorite taco truck! The tacos de tripa are cooked to perfection. I also love the bistec tacos! Everything I have tried has been really good. The green sauce is spicy but addictive! They serve charro beans, highly recommended! Cheap and delicious! The parking can be a bit tricky so try to park where you won't get blocked in. We usually eat in our car so everything is hot and fresh. read more

The tripa tacos are the bomb! Totally recommend. The bistec tacos are awesome too! Great food and fast service

I have a new profound obsession with the tacos sold here. I have traveled far and wide and I've eaten tacos from New York to California. As a proud citizen of Texas I could honestly say these are the best tacos I've had in the lone star state. Yes I said the best tacos I've had in Texas. Don't expect lame trump tower tacos here, only real authentic Mexican street cuisine. Exclusively order corn tortillas, the beans and hot sauce are not for the faint of heart. Brush up on your Spanish, bring cash, and if you have a license to carry... bring that as well. read more

My favorite taco truck off edgebrook but also the tacos that I compare all other tacos to. I have been in search for a taco truck better than them and even though some have come closer or comparable I haven't found any better than this place! read more

I ordered two tacos and gave the lady a five and did not receive change. Clearly the sign outsize said $1.oo for corn tacos. She stated that I ordered corn so it was extra. Rip off. Over salted, over seasoned. Go to second ward where they give you a nice helping of cilantro and onions plus a massive amount of meat from Taqueria Los Mexicanos. Never again will I go here. read more

All I have to say is customer service has gone from a 5 star to a 0-1 star I called to placed and order the lady was rude and after hurrying me to get my order under 10 seconds she hung up wasn't even able to ask for drinks. Best tacos ever! Their burgers and hot dogs and quesadillas are bomb too . 10/10 , customer services is ehh sometimes but the food is great.

Has to be one of my favorite place to get those authentic tacos cravings. Very affordable and cheap. 1$ tacos! Every other truck charges $1.25-1.50$ and their prices keeps going up. Love this place!! read more

I put an order by phone and the lady who answered was extremely rood. I got there and STILL in person, VERY ROOD. They are not wearing masks or gloves to handle the food. The only positive thing i can mention about this place is their prices. Other than that, service sucks! read more

These tacos are delicious! My brother in law grew up in this area and he recommended calling in the order vs going there, since they are always extremely busy. Take into consideration that due to them being busy (especially on weekends) your order may not come out the way you expect. For my particular order, they forgot to add the onion, cilantro and hot sauce. Okay, my inner Mexican is about to come out--- un PINCHE taco no es taco sin cebolla, cilantro, y SALSA!!!!! So that was a bummer... I do not get to enjoy tacos often, so I sort of expect my tacos to be perfect otherwise I'd settle for "tacos" from Taco Bell. Any who, I will come back because jalapeño is BOMB, but I need to make sure my order is right before I leave their parking lot. read more

Tacos, tortas, quesadillas, all are sooo good and so cheap! You get way more than what you pay for. I have been to other taco spots, and they are about the same, but the only difference is that Jalapeno stuffs the tacos, tortas, quesadillas, etc. to the max. Definitely recommend 100% read more

I was bragging and bragging and they made me look like a fool!!! Took my mother and brother and well they forgot the onions and the salsa. Not enough cilantro or raw onions this time it was barely even there and the charro beans. BARF. Watered down!!!!!!! It tasted like beans in water! No joke! Sorry I'm honest. I will however be giving it another shot. Eventually. read more

This has become the taco truck to be on Edgebrook, every night there are more than three cars parked here at any moment, probably due to their $1 tacos; however, there is a catch, they don't advertise on their menu that the tripa tacos are $1.50, even if they are on a corn tortilla... sneaky. Seeing as how this was the truck with the most customers we figured it had the tastiest tacos, so I went and ordered an extra helping of tripas, yeah, there goes my figure. This has been by far the most impressive plate serving, yes, it was on a paper plate but the tacos came accompanied by: onions, cilantro, grilled onions, grilled jalapeños, grilled potatoes and a baggie of green salsa. The tacos were very good, the tripa was flavorful, the only detail was perhaps a bit more crispiness, but that is my personal opinion, as to how trips are enjoyed the best, perhaps most people enjoy them softer and I am in the wrong here, but I don't really care, my way or the highway. The pastor was actually good, comparable if not better than the ones from El Toro on Fairbanks- N. Houston, in all I can see why people, including my family, frequent this place. read more

Although I've only been here a few times (both drunk and sober lol) these tacos never disappoint. I've tried their trompo and bistek and both are very flavorful. Their green salsa has the perfect kick and if you're filling brave they also give you a "chile torreado" aka grilled jalapeño? Delicious cheap meal perfect for a cheat day, because let's face it, these tacos can't possibly be healthy. Sorry, no light food or gluten free food served here. Haha read more
