Service - 10/10 it was quick to get the food. A lot of times you're waiting at least 10mins for the food but mine was ready in less than five. The fries were freshly made and the pork was smokey. And I'm glad I got the kimchi added. Food - 10/10 I only got the fries but they were solid and I'd totally get them again Ambiance - meh, it's a food truck. I had mine to go because I was taking it back to my office so there really isn't any ambiance to speak of. I deducted a star because the prices always surprise me. It's a food truck with no brick and mortar but the prices are what you would see at a restaurant. DELICIOUS!!! I got the chance to try nom mi street when their truck was in cypress! The worker was super sweet and offering samples: pork and brussel sprouts. Both were really good but the brussel sprouts blew me away so I knew I needed to order more. I ended up getting the nom mi fried (loaded fries) with chicken and the brussel sprouts, and both were insanely good. I think these were the best loaded fries I've ever had and that says a lot because I loveeeeee fries. The sauce was so good, the fries were crispy, the chicken was a good size, and everything just tied together beautifully. Nom Mi Street is where I always want to be!!! When I tell you there was a party in my mouth eating this food! Every Friday at my job we have food trucks, I usually don't stop but I'm glad I did! We started off with fantastic service, extremely friendly and helpful with suggestions. They ran out of the Bahn Mi but these fries definitely didn't disappoint! I was so glad to see Nom Mi Street food truck again this year. I was attending a convention with a friend in downtown Houston, when we saw that the truck was stationed outside the center! They had a lot more menu items, but this one didn't offer freshly crafted tea or lemonades. I now realize that some food trucks from the same group, can differ on their menu selection. I loved their quesadillas with chicken and peanut sauce. My friend ordered their fried brussel sprouts and egg rolls. The prices were decent this time and the staff were patient with us. I ended up trying this place because they were at an event at the museum and I will definitely be ordering takeout from here again. They were giving out free samples of their pork and fried brussel sprouts. The pork was so tender and melted in my mouth and the brussel sprouts were cooked to perfection. I came to JSC to visit building 12 after being retired 7 years. Wanted to see inside and stopped at building 11 cafe. Out of sandwich so owner suggested the quesadillas. I tried Nom Mi Street at a neighborhood party and was delighted by the whole experience. I got there a little early so I got to chat with the operator/cooks before the massive line started and they explained the menu, we chatted a bit about their operation and where they go, and they seemed genuinely excited to delight people with their food! I didn't feel like a customer but as a friend coming to someone's house to eat (well of course I had to pay for my food though!). I just loved talking to some people truly passionate about the food, and the amount of people lining up to buy their food clearly showed how good their food was! Anyways I had the tofu Banh mi, viet tacos with pork, and Brussels sprouts, and my only regret in my order was not getting more items. It was already too much food for the small group I was feeding but holy smokes was it delicious. EVERY aspect of it had meticulous attention to detail- the sauce was spicy but not too spicy, not too much but enough to taste it in every bite, the pork was SO tender, tortillas were thin to not over power. The Banh Mi was delicious, I believe I liked it so much since it wasn't the type with liver (might be a controversial opinion), I think they used mayo instead. The jalapeño in it was VERY spicy, I actually had to drink some to tame it down which is rare for me! The way it was bundled was adorable so I just had to snap that photo. The Brussels sprouts reminded me of some I get at one of my favorite restaurants, but I didn't expect it when I ordered them. I ordered the chicken quesadilla and waited longer than my friends who ordered other items just to discover that the chicken in my quesadilla was raw. Tasty food. Very popular and lines can get long. I have passed by this food truck for a few weeks at the downtown Farmers Market, but never tried it, as the line looked way too long. This food truck, Melange Creperie and the Churrasco Truck always have the longest lines. Plan early. We arrived about 11:20 and stepped into a line of about 10 people. The menu consists mainly of tacos and nachos with choice of meat, including tilapia. They also have Bahn Mi sandwiches and a Bahn Mi combo plate was also offered. Anyway, I also saw NMS offers a salmon burger, so I tried it. NMS calls it "Salmonlicious". The salmon meat was not a frozen-formed patty like the kind you buy at Costco, but was a square-cut, thick slice from a filet. The salmon had a glaze on it, and was delicious with the pretzel bun. Cajun fries came with the sandwich, but were just regular fries with Cajun salt sprinkled on them. We only had to wait about 10 minutes until we arrived at the front of the line and ordered. After ordering, my coworkers had to wait 5 minutes for their foods, which were beef nachos and chicken tacos. I had to wait an additional 5 minutes for mine, but that salmon was worth the wait. Don't be scared by the line. I arrived again recently, and ordered three grilled fish tacos. Luckily, the line was much shorter and the wait was not very long. The meat was very lightly seasoned and consisted of big chunks of fish. Each taco had a good amount of meat, but I did need to get something else to go with the tacos. Maybe offering a fish taco combo would be a good idea in the future. I do want to return and try something else next time, perhaps the bahn mi combo. read more

Tried Nom Mi for the first time at the First Saturday market in the Heights today and it HIT the spot! First and foremost, the service was incredible - the staff were so friendly and generous in offering us samples of everything we were curious about before making our choices. I settled on the pork kimchi quesadilla, which is apparently one of their infamous menu options. The quesadilla is HUGE - I wasn't expecting that big of a portion size, so it was definitely a pleasant surprise. The barbecued pork is perfection - I don't know what they put in the marinade, but it is pure sweet, savory, melt-in-your-mouth goodness. The hospital (Clear Lake Regional) was having an event for employees and a few trucks were there. One of my coworkers had an amazing salmon sandiwch with brussel sprouts that smelled wonderful so I decided that I needed to try the food. They do offer samples. We had a sample of the pork as well as the brussel sprouts. The pork was good, but those brussel sprouts were amazing! They had cranberries and some sort of soy sauce on them that was just to die for. I could have just eaten the brussel sprouts for lunch and been satisfied but I decided to also get the loaded fries with chicken. They had a bit of a kick to them, but they were really good. It's so much food! I should have shared both the brussel sprouts and loaded fries with my coworker but we each got our own and we both only ended up eating half of everything. It is a little pricey (it was $18.75 for the two items and I threw the change in the tip jar). Pretty pricey lunch, but man was it good! If they ever come back to the hospital, I will make sure to split an order with someone else so I can save some money and not waste food. read more

This amazing food truck was at Texas Hearing Institute on Friday. Not only did they serve amazing food, but they donated part of the proceeds to the institute. I couldn't decide between the hash brown melt and the salmon burger. I told them to surprise me. I ended up with the chicken hash brown melt. It did not disappoint. Seems like there's a glut of Asian/Vietnamese fusion food trucks driving around these days - and I have to say Nom Mi Street is becoming one of my favorites. I've had their pork tacos, beef fries, and their banh mi. Everything was good! The food always is fresh. As Huyen-Nga T. also pointed out, their pork is chargrilled to perfection with just the right amount of smokey/charcoal flavor - and it's marinated with just the right amount of sweetness. My personal favorite are the pork tacos with corn tortilla. What makes their food unique is this mystery orange colored sauce (which they call Nom Mi House sauce) they put on almost all their menu items. It's sweet with a nice spicy kick to it- don't know what's in it, but it makes everything taste so flippin good! I love how the owner and employees are so nice too. They came out to support a 2nd Cup (http://www.yelp.com/biz/a-2nd-cup-houston) event a while back and I ordered some food from them. So to be honest I was all food trucked out. I spent the better half of one year tracking these suckers down and well I finally realized it was good, but way over priced and a pain to follow. Since the food trucks came on to the scene now they have food truck parks that have opened up for them to gather. I found Nom Mi Street parked at the EaDo location. They were actually handing out samples of their meat, which was spectacular, so we went ahead and got one of their Kim chi beef quesadilla. I must say this thing is packed full of flavor! But the best part about these guys? The speed, I hate slow food trucks, these guys have stream lined the process and your food comes out in just a few minutes. read more

I went to the food truck park down the street from BBVA Compass stadium and was delighted to see a truck that would satisfy my constant taco craving.
