Oh my Gogi is one of those places that looks good through pictures but doesn't deliver the same quality in reality. For example, their kimchi fries looks like a heart attach happening (in a good way) but it's just not as appetizing in person. The fries taste like they were made from cardboard because the hardly had any of that golden-crispy-outside-and-fluffy-inside texture and they could have added more toppings for what they're charging according to my boyfriend. This has only been my second visit and a year later after my first visit, I left with the same first impression. I guess they're consistent on that but I was hoping flavor wise they would have improved. I got their kimchi burger this time as opposed to the fries from my first visit and I was met with the same disappointment with the fries. Not as tasty as they make it seem. I did not realize that they would not put a beef patty in the kimchi burger, so when I took my first bite, the shredded meat was falling out of the burger, making it difficult to eat. I ended up having to get a fork to eat a burger because it had no structure and far less toppings than if you were to order the kimchi fries. It did not come with any of the other toppings listed, just the caramelized kimchi that I asked for as an add-on. I started thinking to myself maybe I'm just ordering the wrong thing here but for this to be my second visit and still falling short, I couldn't have been the problem. I don't think this place is worth it. But having talked to my boyfriend about their food truck and how good that was years ago, maybe we will just visit the food truck. Kimchi fries and fusion tacos always hit the spot for me.. just solid flavor combo with the spicy mayo, onions/cilantro.. I can't say no to beef bulgogi on fries.. c'mon the only downside is the portion sizes, tacos are on the smaller side and the prices have definitely crept up last few yrs with inflation. Stopped here to grab a late night comfort meal with my friends after a long nap. We looked over the menu and after a few questions of what would be recommend we made our orders. One of my friends ordered the quesadilla and the other ordered the kimchi sliders. I ordered the loaded fries which was recommended when I looked up this restaurant and stated to be the most popular by the employee serving us. I typically don't get loaded fries places because they get soggy and aren't reheat-able but they sounded delicious so I had to give it a go. My friends overall rated their food a 8. The quesadillas were expected to be bigger since they did not come with anything else but were yummy nonetheless. My loaded fries came with beef bolgogi, cheese, chopped and grilled onions, kimchi and a sweet spicy creamy sauce all wrapped together with a fried egg. The fries themselves were nicely seasoned and all of the toppings married together for a harmonious explosion of flavor on the palate. These were incredibly filling so I could not finish them all but I did take breaks so I could eat more and more. I definitely recommend giving this restaurant a go. read more

I'd wanted to try Oh My Gogi for ages. Literally ages. When I realized recently that they were on DoorDash, it was the perfect opportunity to cross it off. The DoorDash did take 15 minutes to arrive from the restaurant so I acknowledge that the experience may be better in the restaurant. I started with the Kimchi Quesadilla. The quesadilla itself was a nice package and came with a great spicy mayo. The bulgogi itself was, okay. There was a decent amount, but there could have been a little more. It was pretty dry, and was a lot more mild than I was expecting. If I get this item again, I'd definitely look to add extra kimchi to bring up the spice level a bit. I then sampled the OMG! Fries. OMG, these were bad fries. The loaded aspect was pretty good, and there was enough load for the fries. The spicy mayo added really great flavor, as did the cilantro. But the fries themselves were lukewarm (hi DoorDash), had no seasoning or taste, and were on the big side. My experience has been that shoestring fries seem to work a little better for loaded fries and I do think thinner, seasoned fries would have been a major upgrade. I really like the Oh My Gogi concept! Will need to make sure my next visit is in person so I can see the other side. read more

YAYY. Finally! Their brick and mortar. I get waaaay too lazy to drive to west university for their food truck, so I go months without having my craving satisfied. I was craving it today and looked up their location and LO AND BEHOLD, their brick and mortar had just opened about a month ago. Woohoo. No more having to drive far and eat while standing. Personally, I love their Gogi Burger with beef. It reminds me of a patty melt but just SUPER cheesy and with a hawaiian bun. It turns out their burgers come with a side of fries now. The best part? you can upgrade it for the loaded fries for an extra $10. Pretty good deal to me! I also tried the kimchi quesadilla, it was probably my least favorite. Korean bbq and Mexican street food are a match made in heaven. I remember my first time at the Kogi truck in Los Angeles, which popularized the concept, and being amazed at the melting of sweet, sour, and spicy flavors that make this fusion burst to life. I hoped I would find similar joy here. Credit where it's due: the staff were friendly, and the service was prompt. I mentioned it was my first time in, and I was suggested a staff favorite: the OMG fries. I also ordered a chicken quesadilla; my buddy got a burger. My first disappointment came when I asked for water. No tap; only bottled available. Got two Kirkland Signature bottles for $3 each. Food came out in under 10 minutes, which gave me enough time to check out the place. Good vibes: colorful and fun. Even a disco ball by the bathrooms. My real frustration is that, to me, the food looked lazy, tasted disappointing, and cost a lot. My buddy's burger ($18) was small and single patty. He picked it up and the insides came sliding out immediately. Same goes for my quesadilla ($13) which was thin and sloppy. The cheese came running out, and the dousing of cilantro and spicy mayo on the outside made it even messier finger food. I spent $11 on a basket of bland, generic frozen fries topped with the same things as the inside of my quesadilla: kimchi, cheese, and spicy mayo. For that price point, I expect fresh-cut fries. The menu is repetitive: you can get chicken, beef, or kimchi on tostadas, tacos, fries, or in a quesadilla. I find this lazy and sad, because this concept has the potential to be so much better if only more effort were put into it. I spent over $50 after tax and tip, and I can easily say, even with prices as they are today, it wasn't worth it. I wish the owner well, but I won't be back. read more

We went back to the food truck 3x that week haha. So when I came across their location in the galleria I was ecstatic that they have a brick and mortar location. I picked up a pair of takeout Tacos (Beef & Chicken) tonight. They were awesome, very delicious, juicy and had a mass abundance of meat in them. The corn tortillas I requested for them were soft, fresh n flavorful. The meat in the tacos was well-seasoned, moist and not skimped on at all. It tasted like a Mexican street taco set, but with some mild sweet n tart flavor from the Korean kimchi cream sauce mixed with the meat in the tacos. I don't know if it was just the sauce or both that and the spices in the meat making it a little sweet. Either way, great stuff. The meat was also grilled well with slight charred crisp and flavor. The sauce is a nice exotic add-on holding a nice contrast without being too overpowering against the rest of the food. Great, efficient and friendly service on this first time visit at this new location. I have had the tacos n quesadillas twice from the Rice Village truck in the past n enjoyed them. Glad this establishment is now here as well. I generally don't care for fusion tacos, but this place rocks. read more

I'm a die hard oh my gogi fan. I've eaten their fries for almost a decade now and I'm not even exaggerating BUT I go to the food truck location in Rice Village every time. The other day, I decided to finally check out this storefront location since they open earlier than 8pm. Parking I think would depend on the time of day you come. When we came the parking lot was full and we scored a 30 minutes only parking spot. The inside of the store is a little small, but spacious enough for seating and ordering. We ordered our usual order - OMG Fries with beef. I noticed immediately it wasn't the same. The beef flavor was just not the signature taste, there was something different about it. Fries were not as crispy and the same in size I dont think. I also think this location is more expensive. I think it cost more for beef fries here and at the food truck it's the same price as other meats. Overall disappointed that it is not the same quality i love.
