I'm starting to get tired of all of these "Korean Fusion" food trucks, I was happy to see that this one was a Japanese Fusion food truck instead. The name is kind of hard to pronounce but I found myself trying to pronounce it over and over and started enjoying it. By the end of the night after a few drinks I was saying all different probably incorrect variants but it made me remember it. The character that accompanies their brand is adorable. As far as their food, I tried the Chicken karaage for $8, which is like a tempura chicken covered in sauce, it was my favorite dish of the night. We also had the Mac and cheese egg rolls which was 2 for $4, it sounded better than it was, but it was probably some of the cheaper priced mac and cheese fried whatever, from a food truck, so it wasn't just to try it. My friend's favorite dish was the shrimp and grits for $8. The dish comes with an egg along and topped with pork belly. Everything came together so perfectly. I got to meet the man by the truck Matt, and he has a sushi background which explains the food truck. I can't wait to try more items the next time this truck is out.

I typically love food trucks, especially those that are strategically and conveniently placed outside of a bar or brewery with a guaranteed captive audience. Which is why I was so happy when I saw this truck parked outside of 11 Below Brewery on the northside of town. However, I left feeling meh as I ate what was a very bland Bibimbap Rice Bowl. The bulgogi had little flavor and the kimchi just plain out overwhelmed all the other flavors that might have been in the dish. On the other hand, the hubby ordered the Kakuni (pork belly) Burrito. That thing was delicious and huge, tons of food for the price. If everything we ordered was good, I would have given this truck 4 stars, but they let me down on the bulgogi bowl.... Follow me on my way to Foodietown! http://britneygfoodie.yelp.com

This is one of my friends' favorite food trucks. She loves this food truck so much that she would actually have the food truck camped out of her house whenever she was having a house party - true story! That was actually the first time I tried Muiishi Makirritos. So far I've tried the following: Swaggy Dog - these are some big rolls. And definitely delicious. Chicken Karaage Burrito - Also huge and delicious Hot Mess Fries - Nom nom nom Tempura Fried Oreos - SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY! I've pretty much loved everything that I've tried here so far. When they say that "Everything is Muy Bueno", I really don't think that they're lying. Only downside: it's a food truck so the wait could take a while.

FINALLY got to try this food while the truck was at Wooster's. It took me way too long. Everything was so delicious! Rich, yet not heavy. Pork Bunz - kakuni pork belly, pickled cucumber, scallions Crabby patty - fried soft shell crab, kani kama, avocado, spicy aioli (think of a spider roll on steroids!) Jammin Bacon biscuits w/ fried chicken - my god if I could get giant versions of these biscuits and eat them all day!!! Damn, I think I just made myself hungry again...

This food truck was one off the vendors that showed up at my church's flic nic on the lawn event. My friends and I were thrilled because it was one of the food trucks that we have yet to catch. I never waited 1.5 hrs on line for a food truck but it was worth it! Swaggy dog sushi - shrimp tempura with a side of creamy siracha sauce 5/5 Kakuni roll - pork belly with a side green fresco chile sauce. 5/5 stars Karage chicken - mouth watering crispy breaded chicken drizzled with a creamy siracha and topped with crispy corn. The corn is AMAZING! 5/5 Macaroni egg roll - it comes in a set with the chile fresco sauce. It sounds strange to have macaroni and cheese in an egg roll, but it was surprisingly delicious. It's worth the try even if you are ud usually not adventurous. 4/5 Karage burrito - breaded fried chicken in a rice burrito. Those were huge burritos. Good blend of flavors. This one was good but not my favorite. It was a little dry, perhaps a little creamy siracha would help. 4/5 Despite the crazy long lines, the staff were really nice and did not show a hint of frustration. Love their attitudes. I hope to catch them again!

Mui bueno, indeed!

Yum! I love being able to look at photos on Yelp and those taped on the food truck body for reference. I decided to give the Krabby Patty a try ($14). I was lucky that the line wasn't long in the early evening and the time it took before I could get my hands on the makirrito was just between five to ten minutes. The Krabby Patty came out sliced in half, making it easy to split and eat, and the deep fried crab claws stuck out at each end of the roll. The dried seaweed wrapped around the rolls were nice and crisp thankfully not succumbed to a soggy and chewy fate. It was still pretty hot when I took my first bite but it was so fresh and tasty! You never get the same taste at the restaurant with similar spider rolls that house the same soft shell crab parts. The Krabby Patty was definitely a glorified version of it packed with much more pizazz (avocado, kani, etc). The price is okay for the amount you're getting as it includes tax, unlike other food trucks I've patronized. Similar special rolls at Japanese restaurants would charge the same but even more skimpy. I have my eye on a few other items Muiishi has to offer. Hopefully it will be truckin' in my vicinity again!

I've been wanting to try this food truck for so long! I saw it outside of HEB during the Friday Food Truck Festival but there was a long line and it was cold outside so I decided to try it another day. I wanted to come here for dinner on a weekday so I checked where they were on Facebook and found that they were outside Boneyard Drinkery. I shared with my sister and we ordered the Mac and Cheese Eggrolls, Bipimbap, and Chicken Karrage which came out to be $21. It was cold outside so we waited inside Boneyard Drinkery for our food. The staff at Boneyard Drinkery was super friendly and didn't pressure us to buy any drinks while we were there. If I ever get a dog, I'm totally taking it here! The Mac and Cheese Eggrolls were my favorite and came with a yummy dipping sauce that looked like ranch. The Chicken Karrage was my second favorite and came with a delicious fried corn. The chicken reminded me of Chick-fil-a chicken nuggets with siracha. The Bipimbap was like a sushi burrito with bulgogi. The dipping sauce for this had wasabi I think which made it a little too spicy for me. I don't think I'll order the Bipimbap again but I definitely want to try their other Makirritos!

Swaggy dog

LOVE their swaggy dog. It's the only roll of it's kind in Houston and I always crave it. Too bad Muishii is pretty inconsistent with their locations and opening times. It's gotten a little better lately though. Now back to the roll, the fried corn adds such a nice texture and the shrimp tempura is extra crispy. The spicy aioli sauce is also amazing. It's so good I'll actually try and hunt their truck down!

Food I threw away

Got some food from their food truck at anime matsuri I ordered chicken karaage with side rice and kimchi! They served it to me cold as shit I tried to eat it but it was disgusting. All the other food trucks served if not fresh at least hot food. I actually never do reviews but that's how mad I was 18 dollars down the drain. The best part is how the owner berates your reviews. I worked for a security company after my 5 years of service to the military just for him to basically call me a loser in Messages. Great practice!! Posted more pictures of how they speak to customers.

Bulgogi Quesadillas- Korean marinated beef + Cheese. Served with a side of pico, sour cream, spicy aioli, and the most delicious creamy cilantro sauce. I initially only took a bite of the quesadilla without the creamy cilantro sauce and was amazed at the Mexican Korean fusion. Decided to dip it in the sauce and was blown away. I definitely need 3 extra sauces for delicious concoction. . Swaggy Dog- Sushi (Makirrito) with a twist, lol. Fried shrimp, corn fritters, avocado, and cabbage in a roll with a spicy aioli dipping sauce. This Makirrito is genius. All the flavors were distinct and blended well with the spicy aioli dipping sauce. They used the perfect amount of rice. . Fried Pork Dumplings- Basic dumplings, but they were fried well. I tasted a crunch in every bite. Dumpling sauce was very tasty. . Last but not least, my favorite: Chicken Karaage- Japanese fried chicken nuggets, corn fritters, spicy aioli, sriracha, and green onions. SOoSOosoSo much flavor. I LOVE CORN and it was plentiful. I definitely recommend this one. . They have so much more items to choose from, these were only the few I had the pleasure of trying. @muiishimakirritos will be at the Great State of Texas ( @greatstateoftx ) Food Truck Festival on 11/16/19 if anyone wants to try them out!

How not to be open to feedback: bash your customers.
Bryan K.

Update: Shortly after I provided a review the owner reached out to me to bash me. Her utter lack of professionalism is appalling. And her method of dealing with feedback is immature. Changing to 1 star. ------------------------- Ok, I'll make this short and sweet. I ate here at the Pop Shop event at Silver Street Studios. Ordered the pork belly burrito. The burrito was ok. The pork was tender, but nothing to really rave about. The main item I want to highlight, and to give feedback to the owners is the time between ordering and service really needs to be improved. I waited 20 minutes for a pork burrito. Pork that has already been cooked sou vi for 24 hours. But the long wait time didn't bother me until people who ordered after me were receiving their orders first. Rice bowls, loaded fries, etc that were ordered after me where coming out before my burrito. I had to follow up with them twice before my single burrito came out. Very disappointing.

I tried Muiishi Makirritos again at the Houston Food Truck Festival just to give it another try since I didn't enjoy my first time experience, and this time, I really enjoyed what I got. I had the Creamy Smoked Salmon Tempura Roll. I really didn't expect much, but it was so good, beautiful looking, and the roll was a really good portion. I ate the whole thing myself, sparing only maybe 2 and half pieces for my friend lol It was definitely a well done sushi roll that I wouldn't mind having again and again and again. There you go Muiishi Makirritos, you gained back one star!

Pork belly Don Juan (half eaten fries in the background)

After coming back a handful of times, this is one of my favorite food trucks in Houston. To be honest, Houston had a lot of shitty trucks. It's hard to find one that makes me want to go back. I actually follow Muiishi on Facebook and check to see where they are. If they're nearby, I will usually make it a point to go. The only annoying thing is that they tend to flake. So don't rely on their schedule completely or you will be sorely disappointed. I love love love the rice bowls (Don Juan - pork belly), hot mess fries, and crabby patty roll. Food is restaurant quality and pretty darn tasty.
