Pork Katsu with brown rice and curry
    Alex N.

It's a small, hidden little place that I wouldn't have found if someone else didn't recommend it to me. Service and prices are pretty average. The food was great, I had the brown rice with pork katsu and a side of curry. The katsu was very crispy and still moist on the inside. It was also a pretty big cutlet compared to other places I've had it at.

Teriyaki chicken plate on a bed of steamed rice with a side of potato salad and steamed veggies.

My order: teriyaki chicken plate, steamed rice, potato salad & an extra side of veggies. Teriyaki kitchen offers a menu that is centered around well executed teriyaki meals with options like grilled chicken, beef & salmon. I've been here a couple of times and haven't tried anything besides their grilled teriyaki chicken plate. The chicken is grilled to perfection & then glazed with a rich & savory, sweet soy-based sauce. They also have spicy options. For the base, you have options between white, brown or fried rice. I've had both the white & brown rice and it's been great all times (yes, there is such thing as bad rice). As for sides; your options are potato salad, steamed veggies or broccoli. If you order to-go, ask them not to put the potato salad with the rest of the meal (unless you don't mind hot potato salad lol). I can't say enough about that potato salad, it almost carries the meal. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I would also like to note that this is a small establishment so there's not a whole lot of seating arrangements.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's located at the end of a shopping strip which makes it easy to drive by & miss. It does get busy during peak hours so call in your order if you're short on time. Ask for extra teriyaki sauce & hot sauce! Between my husband and I, we spend about $30.

It was just not to my liking. I ordered pork and got undercooked chicken. I took it back and they replaced the order due to it being undercooked and it was still not any better. It's an acquired taste so if you like it, you really like it if you don't you really really don't.

This small whole in the wall isn't much to the naked eye in terms of ambiance and it was a little bit of a wait in terms of service. The was absolutely worth it, they have a mouth watering bento box. I was pleasantly surprised by how amazing the food was, the California rolls were yummy. The Teriyaki shrimp and fried shrimp were absolutely off the chain. I would highly recommend this little gem for a great lunch pop in.

This has become our new favorite go to spot for some Asian food. We really like their Spicy Teriyaki chicken, it's packed with flavored the chicken is cooked to perfection sweet and spicy. The beef udon was a little underwhelming. It was packed it with more udon noodles with a thin top layer for beef, which was disappointing. Beef was flavorful however, I just wish there was MORE of it. The special fried rice is your combination rice of beef and chicken mixed nothing different from your usual fried rice that you get from there. I would say overall Spicy Teriyaki is our fav!

    Seafood Pancake

[[HIGHLIGHT]]I chose this place cause it seemed like good ambiance around the area, with the inside pics at least.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We got there, and you order right away. Okay, I wasnt expecting that. We ended up getting the salmon bento, the seafood panjeon and chicken teriyaki. And two waters. My friend got something else. We sat down off to the side. They had a few sauce bottles. One was definitely teriyaki, sambal and this sweet but savory sauce. The food came out relatively quick. The portion sizes were a bit bigger than I thought they'd be (esp w/ the teriyaki). I thought the food was okay. I like the different textures the bento box offered, and the veggie deep fried choices were varied. The chicken teriyaki was savory. I really did like the seafood panjeon. It felt like the shrimp was stuffed and very hearty. This place isnt bad!

This restaurant caps the end of an old strip block. It doesn't look like much outside, but the interior is modern and pleasant. You order and pay up front and the food is brought out to you. We ordered a few teriyaki plates and the katsu chicken plate. For each teriyaki plate, you have the option of white or brown rice, and stir-fried vegetables or potato salad. Other options are available for extra cost. The teriyaki chicken and spicy teriyaki chicken has a smoky flavorful taste. Portions are decent.

Chicken Teriyaki smells amazing. First time trying.

Stopped in to grab something for lunch before I got to work but I wanted something I never had before. This placed popped up as I was searching through yelp and of corse I look for the higher ranking stores. This place definitely fell in line of what I was looking for. I got the chicken teriyaki plate and it was just so good. It was definitely a simple plate like something I can make at home but this was something I'd definitely come back to get and tell people to stop by and try it it they like teriyaki chicken. Now of corse they have other options than just chicken, I also got a side of the egg rolls and they were perfectly crispy and warm. Can't wait for my next meal.

Shaggy Dog + Spider & Crab Meat Rolls

Shaggy dog and spider roll were great. Crab meat roll was a miss for me , too fishy tasting.

The food can be a bit pricey ($35 for bo luc lac, for example) but flavors are great overall and the service is also really good! It's not super high end in terms of decor but certainly well above average and pretty nice compared to the standard Vietnamese restaurant. (For example, yes to white table cloths, but they are layers of plastic.) My quick rapid fire recommendations: 1. Chicken wings - they are absolutely ginormous, amazing flavor, and totally worth the price though they seem expensive on the surface. 2. Fried calamari salt and pepper - delicious! I can't quite describe it ... a hint of funnel cake batter flavor? There's something quite special about this one and it's quite tasty. 3. Shaking beef (bo luc lac) - amazing! Ask for the beef to be medium rare as opposed to medium. Dip those beef chunks into the lime dipping sauce and oh my... you're in heaven. The service is also top notch and not your standard Asian restaurant level. Located off West Little York, close to 290 - it's a hidden gem in Northwest Houston not too far from the city. The space is bigger than you would expect so it's also great for large parties if you can reserve the space. Enjoy!

The eggplant dish mentioned is very rich and flavorful, with the eggplant cooked to be soft and almost mushy (but in a good way), nicely complimented by particularly the beef. Their lo mein is a little watery on various occasions, but still maintains a great and very nice flavor. Their fried rice is one of my favorites in the area and is always very well made no matter the time of day. The fried chicken wings, crab puffs, and crab bomber appetizers are both just such standouts in what is often an overlooked part of the menu by many restaurants. I have nothing but praise about how this place handles food. The staff is all really nice and welcoming from entrance to walking out the door. They are very good with order additions or food/allergy restrictions and the dishes always come out in a timely (but not rushed) manner, no matter whether it is a weekday morning or a busy dinner crowd. I'd recommend the lunch special for anyone coming around that time, as the deal of egg rolls, soup, and an entree or 2-3 sushi rolls for a low price is a steal. The ambiance nice for sure and the tables are clean, though I do sometimes get disoriented by the wallpaper they use (I think it's just me though). Whenever this place first opened, I was very disappointed in the restaurant. Meals were salt with a side of meat and rice and was just overall underwhelming. But now, it is one of my family's go to places whenever we need quality food in a short distance. Definitely worth a try, even over other restaurants in the area that serve a similar menu.

The fried rice was good, and the beef was tender and savory. The egg roll was also really good. The House Special Lo Mein, though, wasn't our favorite. The texture felt off, and the meat was colder than the noodles, so we couldn't really eat it. For a Chinese restaurant, the House Lo Mein is an important dish to get right. Upon arriving, every table was taken except our table w a reserved sign on it. The restaurant was bustling, but I could still hear my husband over the music and noise. The menu is huge!!! I didn't know where to start. But our server, Vanessa, helped us make a few choices. We started off w bánh xèo tostadas, bánh béo, & carpaccio. Then we had calamari and their steak special. I asked for a side of papaya slaw for some veggies. My favorite dish of the night was the carpaccio. So many flavors perfectly melded together. Loved the crunch of the fried onions and peanuts. 10/10 dish, in my opinion. Authentic banh xèo usually has an airier, crisp crepe, but theirs was more crunchy - great for their tostada take. Very flavorful. Each piece had one shrimp, but plenty of pork belly bites. The nuoc mam drizzled on it was tasty. Fried calamari - this is a big dish for, I believe, $'19. I prefer the dipping sauce on the side so that the batter doesn't get soggy. This did happen here, but it didn't stop us from finishing every last bite. The green sauce was good, not the usual dipping sauce for fried calamari. Steak special - they have another steak dish on their menu, but this one was pepper crusted w smashed potatoes. The potatoes were super crispy and flavorful and the steak was perfectly cooked - a beautiful pink medium rare. The portion was huge and justified the $39 price point. The staple steak dish came with a papaya slaw and I had to have it. It was bright and limey - I can see why they serve it with their steak. Bánh beo - my least favorite of the night. A bit thicker than I like. Still good, but there were a lot of other great dishes that I could easily pass on this one. Try their hibiscus artichoke tea.
