The customer service has been nice both times I've view visited. The food is good. I've had the fried dumplings both times I've been and they're cool. Both the regular and the spicy as well as some chili. My friend got the shrimp fried rice and I was pleasantly surprised! It was a little on the stickier side and not dry like typical fried rice but I thought it was good. It was really savory and had a lot of shrimp flavor. Oops I did it again...I came here two days in a row, but let me explain! I was in the area for training, and since lunch was not provided, I had to hunt for my own food. I'm not too familiar with the area so I relied on my handy yelp app to tell me where to go. Teriyaki Kitchen popped up with a ton of positive reviews....bingo. Location: The restaurant is located in a shopping strip that seemed a bit shady. There was a tattoo/piercing parlor and a jewelry store covered with burglar bars...tons of parking though. Interior: very small - there are only 7 tables so it fills up very quickly especially during lunchtime. Appears pretty clean and well maintained - I can usually judge based on how well they keep their condiment bottles clean. Service: the young lady at the counter is very nice and efficient. You order, grab a number and your utensils and drinks, and she brings you the food. It looks like a family owned restaurant, and you can see how hard they work to keep it running smoothly. Food: yummmmm...the tofu and spicy chicken teriyaki plates are sooo good. The food is made when you place your order so you may have to wait 5-10 minutes, but everything is pippin' hot and fresh when it arrives. Everything is flavorful even without the sauce so they just drizzle a bit which I appreciate dearly. Lets me know they're not trying to hide anything. The portion size is also pretty big so I recommend sharing. I did notice a lot of people ordering the chicken soba and bento boxes. If I'm ever in the area again, I will return and try those. Kind of a hole in the wall kind of place but such GOOD food. I always get the chicken terriyaki plate (more on that later) but tried the kimchi friees for the first time and I AM A FAN! The kimchi is made by the owners wife and was the perfect balance of sour, spicy and crunchy. I got the terriyaki plate for the first time with fried rice (instead of rice) and I was not a fan. It had corn and kind of a sweet sauce instead of soy sauce. I personally didn't like it but if you like sweet fried rice - it might be your thing! I've been feeling like Spring Branch is unimpressive in terms of restaurants, so this was a pleasant discovery. My coworkers recommended it so I had to check it out. I had the spicy chicken with extra veggies instead of rice. The extra veggies are raw-ish cabbage and whatnot, but I enjoyed it a lot more than I do rice. The chicken definitely had a nice little kick without being overwhelming. The chicken and vegetable fried dumplings had a crisp exterior and flavorful filling. I didn't care for the sauce that came with them as I tasted the flavor of ketchup. For ~$10 total and 2 portions, it's priced pretty well. You can also order and pay online, which is nice. Dumplings - 5 pieces - good, I really liked the dipping sauce that came with it, but the dumplings were good on their own too. Miso Soup - some of the best I've had. Some places have a lot of broth and one or two pieces of tofu or seaweed, this place didnt skimp. Flavor was savory and I could drink the broth straight. TK Bento Box with Beef - yassss. Fried shrimp and veggies were good. The beef and rice were good. 4 pieces of cali were good. Surprise on the plate for me was the potato salad. It was more of a thicker, glueir cold mashed potato concoction than a traditional American potato salad, but I really liked it and I hate most normal potato salads. Pricing is cheap! When I arrived my food was already ready which was less time than originally quoted. Also the customer service was great! Cons - I asked for extra sauce but did not get it. I also asked for extra napkins but didn't get those either. There's more veggies than meat and I'd swear some of the cabbage was spoiled. The chicken was delicious, not dry and flavored well. The broccoli was nothing special, it was not seasoned, but it was cooked well. However, the beef teriyaki was another story... It was very thin slices of beef and the flavor was not as good. I'd definitely recommend the chicken and stay away from the beef. We ordered: TK special fries 4/5 - Fries were crispy and full of flavor but not anything different from other places. fried dumplings 4/5 - it was good but it wasn't amazing. Beef soba noodles 3/5 - it needed more flavor. We added the spicy teriyaki sauce on top to give it more flavor. The owner was very nice and talked to us about their menu and what they stood for. YUMMMMM First of all, it can be a little hard to find from the outside because it's not super brightly lit or big or anything. But inside is super cute and clean, unlike most other korean restaurants in the area. Order at the counter and sit at a table and food is delivered pretty quickly. I've had their spicy chicken teriyaki, pork cutlet (donkatsu), special fried rice, and dumplings. All were fresh and hot, flavorful without being overbearing or salty or MSG-y, HUGE PORTIONED, and just yummy. Service was great. I've seen reviews at other asian restaurants say that they're only nice to fellow Asians. Myself being Asian, I'm treated well at Asian restaurants. However, there were a couple of non-Asians that walked in during the hour I was there, and the owner couple made sure to not only get their orders, but also make some small talk, which always makes any experience a bit more personable. Now I consider a restaurant cheap if a person can get fed (full) with $10 or less and at this place I was able to get 2 entrees (that come with a side too) AND an appetizer for under $20. We ended up getting: 1) The Spicy Chicken which was lightly spicy (I would have preferred if it was a bit spicier); however, the chicken was very juicy and tasty. Mix the chicken sauce with the white rice and everything is very flavorful. The coleslaw that I got (as my side) was pretty flavorful (though the missus felt that it had too much mayo) and I liked it. 2) The Teriyaki Chicken was absolutely delicious and juicy. It was sweet and lightly salty and I kept taking little bites of (since it's my girlfriend's plate). She felt that the fried rice was "meh" and I felt the same as well. 3) The dumplings were nice and crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The sauce that was given with the dumplings was lemoney and paired with the dumplings quite well. Overall: I would definitely come back here since its a) cheap, b) flavorful, and c) very close by. Chicken was cooked moist and the beef came out tender! It had a good amount of teriyaki sauce on top and the food came out hot! I also enjoyed their dumplings and waffle fries appetizers! Overall: They just opened last week and they have a nice cornered area. For a place that just opened about a week ago... The speed of service was surprisingly fast! You order at the front counter and sit down until they bring the food to you. I was recently here with 6 other people for a business lunch. We all ordered at the same time and the food came out within 3-4 minutes! Taste - delicious! I have been jonesing for reasonably priced Japanese food for a while now, and had nothing else going on yesterday. So I drove up the Beltway to Teriyaki Kitchen, and am glad I did. Got there after the lunch rush, and there was no one else in the place but me. I wasn't all that concerned about that, because outside of their Muzak it was nice and calm. There was so much good stuff on their menu, so I ended up deciding on the pork katsu plate, with brown rice and potato salad. Kind of like a Hawaiian plate lunch, but definitely different. You get 2 sides with the main plates, some with additional costs. The katsu was perfectly fried, with the right amount of panko crunch and moistness in the meat. The only thing I'd say that they need is to give you more katsu sauce, because I went through the cup of sauce pretty quickly (they give you 2 pork cutlets, which is a lot). The brown rice was pretty forgettable, but it is healthier than white rice. You can order fried rice for an extra fee, and next time I might just do that. Now, I have to talk about the potato salad separately. It's really more like the consistency of mashed potatoes, with a nice sweet taste to it. I think the style is more Japanese, but I definitely liked it. I'd recommend it for the novelty and the fact that it's pretty good. Plus, there's no additional charge. The people that work there aren't overly outgoing, but they're not unfriendly either, they just keep their distance from their customers. One guy came in for ice for his drink, and perhaps he worked next door because they knew him and were fine with him. Overall, it was really good food, right on the cusp of being a little pricey but not over the line yet. I say try them out. I'll be back to check out the teriyaki and the other dishes. read more

Mind blowingly good. I usually hate when people describe their food so pretentiously, (I mean food is supposed to taste good amirite?) but this place was different. I ordered the Tofu Soba noodle plate, but what I got was an experience. My taste buds danced and shimmied with each successive bite. I added some chili paste to amp up the heat and got the most pleasurable slap in the face you could ever imagine. This meal made me want to move to Houston. I'm currently looking for apartments. Not the biggest fan of teriyaki in general but my teenager LOVES it here. However she's never been one for leftovers and in my house there is a 36-hour rule.
