    10lbs of Crawfish

My daughter found this local spot and I have to say, it's the best crawfish I've had in a long time. Picked up 10 lbs and ate at home with my own twist....super good!

For a local crawfish restaurant I have to say the Cajun Shack was really good. The inside of the restaurant was clean and decor was pretty cool. We ordered 2 pounds of the spicy garlic butter crawfish and they had decent size, not muddy and really good. Just a FYI the minimum amount you can order is 2lbs or more. Which it worked really good for the 2 of us. I will definitely be going back.

The Cajun Shack in Alvin is a new establishment that specializes in boiled seafood, offering a variety of different flavors to toss the seafood in after boiling. The crawfish in the Cajun garlic butter sauce, which gives a very nice kick of fresh garlic flavor, were quite tasty, as were the jumbo shrimp. Both were fresh and decent sized - the shrimp were really nice sized. The combo of flavors the food is boiled in permeates through the shell, down to the flesh, while the garlic butter sauce just jazzes it up a notch and adds even more flavor. I always choose mushrooms as an accompaniment because of how they soak up all that spicy, garlicky goodness. Atmosphere is pleasing to the eye, but service can be slow and inconsistent when it is busy. Even so, we enjoy the boiled seafood at The Cajun Shack and will keep coming back.

Their hours are wrong on the website. They close at 5 on Sundays. They will have their open sign on but they will turn you around right at 5

It was awful. The food didn't even taste like seafood. It was the worse food I have ever had. I would never recommend this to anyone.

Oysters appeared to be cut in half not cool. Fries were so so. Once seated no one approached for extended periods.

I love TJ Reeds crawfish they are 3 pounds for $40 and the seasoning is super consistent and tasty…read more They are on the pricier side than what I have been paying but the happy hour pricing helps if you want to enjoy a libation. The restaurant is super clean and the environment is always welcoming. They greet and seat you pretty fast. My only suggestion is they train the employees more on cleanliness- I watched one of the waiters continuously scratch his head then touch plates and he coughed in his hand. I sat at the bar and never saw him wash his hands. I did tell what I presume to be the manager he went and washed his hands then did it again. It would make customers turn away. But the food is good. I also had the boudain balls and peel and eat shrimp. Both were good!

We finally went through the reviews and decided it was the last day of vacation so we went. It did NOT disappoint. The outside looks a little sketchy for a seafood restaurant, quite honestly, but the inside was nice. You walk in and see several desserts which looked scrumptious. The seating area is very open and easily accessible. Our server was a young kid and very kind. He seemed a bit new as he couldn't answer many questions about the menu, or simply is one of those "read and figure it out yourself" type of servers. I'm sure you know the type. My husband and I both felt like he was maybe "partaking" before work as he was a little apathetic about everything. We ordered the corn dip appetizer which was the perfect blend of savory and spicy. Our toddler loved it. My husband ordered crab crusted red fish and he was blown away. I got the coconut shrimp and definitely should have done the half order. We got a few drinks and mine was pure alcohol, no juice to the point it tasted like I was drinking rum straight from the bottle. For dessert we got booze Oreo milkshakes which were delicious and we were able to take them home. We would definitely be back!

I apreciated Honore's having a few games for the kids to keep them busy while the adults eat and chat. Maybe a little corner of the patio should be dedicated for them so theyre not in the middle of other patrons. Just a thought. Come early and order. Happy Hour before it ended literally had the line to order out to patio! There is a drive up pick up location on the east side of the building but how you order ahead? Didn't see anything on the website... I ordered the poboy with catfish and fries. When I picked up the to go plate, I just knew somebody's order had been combined with mine because the bag was heavy! Turns out they give Humongous portions at Honore's. Only thing: Although, I didnt ask for tartar sauce, no ketchup or cocktail sauce with my to go order. Still the poboy wad fresh and filled from end to end with catfish. Fries were hot and fresh in the take out box and not too salty, so I had to enjoy a few before leaving. Most definetly you have to order the coveted boudin balls. I got a small pack of both the original and pepper jack since they were on sale for Happy Hour. They didn't disapppoint. They were slightly bigger than a golf ball and the gooey pepper jack cheese was a great compliment to the crunchy exterior. Topped with Remoulade or Ranch and I got pretty full just off Boudin balls. The miss for me is the frozen drinks- especially the frozen Hurricane slushy. Tasted like medicine, but about an hour later I did feel a little kick from the drink. My friend agreed but tried the blue flavor and stated it was better than the hurricane. We enjoyed our little meet up at Honore's so much, we lost track of time. Four hours of girl chat and good food happens that way. Thanks Honore's for making our evening!
