Went the second day of the year and had to get some fresh crawfish. The size was mixed but mostly on the smaller size. They were very juicy but they don't put much seasoning on them. I wish they gave you options for spicy levels. Other than that they were good. Have to get the mushrooms.

We visited Pook's Crawfish Hole on a busy Thursday night. The restaurant itself is easy to find and there is parking out front and on the side. We were lucky someone was leaving as we pulled into the parking lot, so we were able to park right near the door. The hostesses/staff were very friendly. They greeted us and led us to a table large enough for our group of 5 with plenty of room to spread out. Even though the restaurant was full, it was still quiet enough that we were able to have conversations with all of the members of our party. We enjoyed: - Fried pickles - Hushpuppies - Crawfish - Snow crab plate - Mini corndogs - Chicken and sausage gumbo The food was delicious. We wish there were a bit more options to season the seafood. However, this place is pretty close to places we frequent so it may become a somewhat regular spot. We recommend you give them a try and hope you have a great experience.

Self proclaimed as "The Best Crawfish in Galveston County", you'll always find a packed house and a long wait at Pook's. I've been waiting for Pook's from the moment I heard about it. 5 years later, I can check it off the list. At Pook's, you can purchase crawfish live to cook at home or eat right there in the restaurant. I regretfully come back to inform you, Pook's was good, but nothing I would drive over an hour for... in addition, the fixins (potatoes, corn) are not included. In other news, I highly recommend taking advantage of their BYOB, as they do not have a liquor license.

It was okay. 2/3 of my crawfish were soft shel like it's been sitting in water too long. It wasn't the worst I've had but it couldn't been better. The seasoning was good at at medium heat. The sizes varied

Came here with a large group from out of town and our server Brooke was super attentive and super friendly! Our group ordered some crawfish, boudin balls and snow crabs. It's a byob so it's nice to bring in your own drinks, but we were still offered sodas/water. They also serve chicken nuggets, corn dogs and fries for the kiddos. Crawfish was pretty big, seasoning could've been more spicier but overall great. Our guests loved the snow grabs and boudin balls. Will be back for sure!

We are so lucky to live so close to such an amazing crawfish place!! We anxiously await opening day each year. Their crawfish are flavorful with just the right amount of spice. If you don't care for crawfish then order the crab--- it's to die for! Don't forget to add on your sides of sausage and taters. Oh and as always.. Pook's sauce! BYOB or whatever beverage you prefer. The BEST of the best!

The restaurant is super clean and the environment is always welcoming. They greet and seat you pretty fast. My only suggestion is they train the employees more on cleanliness- I watched one of the waiters continuously scratch his head then touch plates and he coughed in his hand. I sat at the bar and never saw him wash his hands. I did tell what I presume to be the manager he went and washed his hands then did it again. It would make customers turn away. But the food is good. I also had the boudain balls and peel and eat shrimp. Both were good!

We finally went through the reviews and decided it was the last day of vacation so we went. It did NOT disappoint. The outside looks a little sketchy for a seafood restaurant, quite honestly, but the inside was nice. You walk in and see several desserts which looked scrumptious. The seating area is very open and easily accessible. Our server was a young kid and very kind. He seemed a bit new as he couldn't answer many questions about the menu, or simply is one of those "read and figure it out yourself" type of servers. I'm sure you know the type. My husband and I both felt like he was maybe "partaking" before work as he was a little apathetic about everything. We ordered the corn dip appetizer which was the perfect blend of savory and spicy. Our toddler loved it. My husband ordered crab crusted red fish and he was blown away. I got the coconut shrimp and definitely should have done the half order. We got a few drinks and mine was pure alcohol, no juice to the point it tasted like I was drinking rum straight from the bottle. For dessert we got booze Oreo milkshakes which were delicious and we were able to take them home. We would definitely be back!

Inside was not really better, very old looking, also went to bathroom to wash up and there was an odor from the water. Thought I was in for a bad experience, but was totally surprised on how good everything was. Our waitress was very tentative and prompt and welcoming. We ordered spicy calamari, great amount of calamari and the hit of spice was detected. Fried nicely as well. I had the gumbo which the dark rue is how i like it, good amount of ingredients and the cup filled to the top that when putting the rice in it overflowed. Crawfish it was called curry style, was thinking there were going to be some hint of Indian flavoring, it wasn't. Though it was very delicious, very buttery/garlicky and another seasoning I couldn't put my finger on, but they were delicious. You can order more of their seasoning mix which we did and mixed it in the crawfish bag. Also 5lbs for $25 is a win.

Given that it's the fifth Friday of Lent, I still have to keep abstaining from meat so I ordered a fried fish platter. The platter consists of two nicely battered fish (forgive me for not knowing what kind it is), an ample serving of fries, and a salad. Mom, of course, had her crawfish. I'm happy to report that we both were satisfied with our meals. Mine was about nine bucks, which was three bucks cheaper than what most churches' fish fry celebrations were offering. The kitchen staff wasn't stingy with the fish; the pieces I got were pretty huge. It occurred to me that I love fish and chips as much as the British do. The young lady who served us did an outstanding job. When I asked for a go-to cup to put my iced tea in, she offered to give me a whole new drink. There were many good things that stemmed from today's visit that I just had to update my negative review from 2017.

Yesterday, I visited the Santa Fe location, which is closer to my house. This wasn't my first time at this VP&S since the last time I set foot here was about a decade. I even ordered something from the eatery through Uber Eats a few years ago. My previous review of this place was four stars; I'm updating it to add one more star for five. I already like VP&S, but this branch is by far my favorite among the locations throughout Galveston County. Not only is it a few minutes drive from my humble abode, but the food here is even better than its counterparts in LC and Dickinson. Just like last Saturday, I had the Village Special pizza except Santa Fe's was hotter, richer in cheese and toppings, and oh-so huge! The wings here are way better than the ones I had in LC. Tastier, crunchier, and filling. So much so that sauce or ranch dressing aren't necessary. Going back to the last time before yesterday when I visited, I must say that it's a bit bigger from what I remember. There must've been some work done.
