Boneless chicken with parmesean fries and lemonade & ice tea
    Diana A.

Enjoying their garlic parmesean boneless chicken with parmesean fries and lemonade. Since it is made to order, if you are in a hurry, pre-order your meal. Otherwise, you can relax and play a Pac Man video game. Their food is very especially their parmesean fries and fried chicken. If you get cold easily bring something extra or you can also eat on the patio.

Ordered the Yung Gripper special. The sandwich is huge, well seasoned, and tasty. Parmesan fries were good and hot. The orange bottled soda was on point It seems that the ownership are Detroit Lions fans based on the decor in the restaurant. Renee greeted me when I entered the restaurant and answered all of my questions. The food was hot and brought out to my table. The decor was tasteful and colorful. The restroom was clean and well stocked. The floor was sticky throughout, which indicated a mopping issue. Overall experience was positive and upbeat. Each customer is greeted when they come in. Great experience

Gripper did not disappoint! They understand flavor and freshness. The fried catfish was so good and I see exactly why it is a favorite. Crispy, seasoned perfectly. Don't hesitate ordering that! The wings were also good. I love a good, tasty sauce that sticks to the wing and these were on point. Last but certainly not least, that peach cobbler cheesecake was the best I've had since being in Houston. Thank you for getting it right! We will be back. Plenty more menu options to try! Loved the music selection and the family friendly vibe of the space. You can catch a game there and they also serve adult beverages so definitely give them a visit.

What up doe! Very well ran establishment with very good food. I have tried so far the catfish poboy, lobster gripper, pitta, and today the sliders ALL GOOD. This place is a must try location. They have excellent customer service and excellent food.

I finally had the chance to stop by The Gripper Kitchen in Pearland, which was recommended by my mother in law and let me tell you--this spot lives up to the hype! Black owned BTW! I heard it was definitely a go to spot so I had to see what the hype was all about! From the moment I walked in, I could tell it was a popular spot because it was busy inside, but that just reassured me that the food was about to be on point. My mother-in-law and I decided to order to-go since it was packed, and while we waited, I asked the cashier what he recommended. Without hesitation, he told me to go with the catfish and the Philly cheesesteak sliders--and let me tell you, he did NOT disappoint. (I forgot his name). The catfish was perfectly seasoned and fried to crispy golden perfection only drawback that the size was small for the price. The breading had just the right amount of crunch while keeping the fish tender and flaky inside. I've had my fair share of fried catfish from the four corners of the USA, but this ranked top 5 & was easily some of the best I've had in a long time. You can tell they put love into their food, and it wasn't greasy or overcooked--just fresh, flavorful, and cooked right. Now the Philly cheesesteak sliders! Omg bruhhhhh these were next-level. The bread was soft and buttery, and the steak was juicy, well-seasoned, and loaded with gooey stringy melted cheese. They had just the right amount of onions and peppers to give it that classic Philly flavor without overpowering the meat. Each bite was packed with flavor in which it felt like a concert in my mouth cause I was humming, and I honestly could have eaten a whole tray of them. To wash it all down, I got their limeade Kool-Aid, and it was exactly what I needed. Sweet, tangy, and refreshing--it took me right back to childhood. It paired perfectly with the meal, and I could tell they don't skimp on making it just right. (aka that S word) Overall, The Gripper Kitchen will have a grip on you if you get a chance to tap in at there spot. The food was hot, fresh, and full of flavor, and the service was great even with how busy they were. The cashier's recommendation was spot on. They definitely stand out in Pearland fasho!

We checked out the Gripper Kitchen last week on a Wednesday. The food was good! We got the lobster gripper, lemon pepper wings, fries, chicken sandwich and a daiquiri. The lobster sandwich was amazing, wings and fries too! The chicken sandwich was good and big BUT I cut it so it wouldn't make a mess and I was alerted that in the Gripper Kitchen you must grip and not cut the sandwich, lol. Cute but im a need to eat my sandwich "safely" . The service was good and the owners were friendly. I will be back on a Tuesday to try out the chicken shell tacos.. they look too good! The restaurant style is sporty Detroit and has all of their good food posted for you to pick from.

I had some time to kill, while waiting for family so I found this place to eat after work due to being in the area. They are located in Pearland next to Tide. Upon arrival you understand their brand! Very clean, organized. They have self service Togo cutlery. They have post-it notes customers can write I and they paste them to the wall. They provide a red carpet experience as you approach the register. I saw a customer order the peach cobbler tacos and yeah I am trying those next. The fish was fried to perfection crisp on the edges. The Parmesan fries were not greasy and I could not stop eating them. They provide a house dipping sauce. I wanted the lobster sandwich which I will try next time as well. I highly recommend this place, I wish it was closer to the heights.

The Gripper is a Pearland Gem Great food and service. I had originally bumped into Chef Tony at the liqour store and asked him "where the party at?" he let me know he was stocking up the restaurant and told me about The Gripper. I knew I had to check it out. I had some of my boys fly in from Phoenix and thought it was a perfect time to pull up. On entering, it was very clean and not overly crowded. I ordered The Yung Gripper and my wife and friends all got the catfish gripper. Listennnnn the chicken and the catfish both fried and seasoned to perfection. Large portions and the sauce went crazy. This isn't a time to be pretty. This is gonna get a lil messy in the best way possible. Grab some napkins and some beer or a mixed drink and dive in. Make sure to roll up those sleeves too. The fries were solid and pricing was good as well. Chef Tony came by to check on us and reassured me he didn't drink all that liqour himself lol. The lady at the front gave great service throughout our visit. I don't know why I'm not here more often. If you haven't been, you need to go. If you have been, pull back up and support some of the best food in Pearland.

Ok been waiting to try Gripper for Taco Tuesday and don't know why I waited so long cuz these tacos were excellent. My hubby doesn't really like grilled tacos he prefers fried but tried and ordered two more grilled tacos. We were very happy with our dinner and will definitely be back on Taco Tuesday. Thanks Chef Tony for not disappointing!

My husband and I tried this place out because of the great reviews on google and on here as well. He ordered the yung gripper combo and I ordered the Buffalo boneless wings by themselves. Collectively, we give the food 4 stars! The chicken was juicy and flavorful and I didn't bite into any nerves as I sometimes do with others sandwiches. The wings were good. Super saucy. The sandwich was delicious. The flavors together were nothing like I've had before. Husband wants to go back to try other sandwiches. I also loved how everything was branded with the logo. It was on the booths, the paper the food was on and even the burger bun! The comment cards all over the walls were nice too. Gives it a fun kind of feel. The downside was the ranch had no flavor and the parm fries were soggy. We gave the customer service a 2. I've worked in customer service a looong time so I know a thing or two. The cashier was not friendly, not mean, but meh. The person who delivered our food gave us the wrong order and when I told her about it she didn't apologize, she looked confused and just walked away. It was an odd interaction. Customer service was real lackluster. I will say, she did ask us how our meal as we were leaving was so that was good.

I ended up hear after receiving a call from a friend that I hadn't seen in weeks which is not like us to do. I was asked if I had ever tried the Gripper Kitchen and I replied "I see it on Tik Tok, always see it when I drop off my laundry but never have time." So we went. I sat in the car for a moment and watched people go in and out for some time until my friend arrived. The steady flow of people gave me confidence that this would be good. I ordered the 6 piece wings dings no fries and a lemon drop. My friend ordered the peach cobbler tacos as well. The wings okay (Hot Lemon Pepper). The outside was seasoned well, but not so much throughout the wing itself. The drink was great and I finished that all. The peach cobbler tacos looked great when they first brought them out to us. But they brought them before our food and was stated that we wanted to eat our food first so that took it back to the kitchen. I think they just held it until we were ready causing the crust to be mushy and the ice cream to melt a little. Overall, I ate the ice cream, sample the crust and trashed the rest. I think if it were fresh, it would have been different if it were fresh. I'll try again, ordering something different.

Both are so good. The Italian has so many meats on it and it's such a filling meal. No matter which sandwich I get, I always add mayo, lettuce, pickles, chili peppers, salt, pepper, oil, and vinegar. The people making the sandwiches always ask about the toppings whether it's a hot or cold sub. But this last visit was very different. I think the guy helping us might have been new, but honestly, this might have been my last time going. I'm not sure I can look past what happened. It was hard for him to even take the order. He couldn't hear the people in front of us or anything we were saying. We had to repeat ourselves more than once. That part is fine, not really his fault. I finally get my cheesesteak order in, and while that's cooking, they start making my husband's sandwich. The guy is wearing gloves, which is good, but then he stops and adjusts his hat without changing them. Then he goes right back to making the sandwich. At this point, he has mayo and toppings on his hat from the gloves, and now he's using those same gloves to keep working. While I'm watching all this, I miss them wrapping up my sub. But it turns out they didn't add any of the toppings I asked for. The girl rolls her eyes, tears the sub open, and has the same guy start adding the toppings. Still using the same dirty gloves he touched his hat with. Maybe that doesn't seem like a big deal to some people, but to me, it's just gross.

I thought they were both a little dry and needed more sauce even though I'd already added extra while ordering. The spicy Italian was a little better, with a bit more dressing on the lettuce on the edges of the sandwich. The bread was simple, nothing fancy, but good toasted. First off, we feel like this location needs a bit of a deep cleaning and/or renovation. My husband and I were joking about the "sketchiness of the cleanliness" as we were pulling it. Joking they "toe the line" of "should we eat here or not?" Secondly, I ALWAYS get the salad bar. Always. The items haven't been fresh here. The biggest culprit has been the artichokes. I usually put a big ol' mound on my salad. The last 2x they have been FIZZY... which lends me to believe they are topping off old items with fresh items and it's never getting changed out/is old/fermenting. This particular visit, in addition to the fizzy artichokes, the sliced red bell pepper tasted off and the romaine lettuce was brown. (Sigh). I hope my salad stays down. My husband enjoyed his New York Yankee and luckily, this visit they correctly subbed his chips for "steamed veggies" like he asked. Last visit he asked for "steamed broccoli" and unknowingly the guy rang him up for a cup of broccoli cheese soup for an additional $5... we never went back up to get our money back and my husband didn't eat the soup. The kids always enjoy their meals: usually cheese pizza or pasta with meatballs and marinara. Then they gobble up ungodly amounts of the free ice cream. Today's visit, for whatever reason, the ice cream was extra "soupy" and so runny it couldn't even be put on a cone. The highlight was the girl at the register was friendly. It's getting to be hard to want to come back to this location. Might have to only treat ourselves to Jason's when we're out in Webster.

There are sanrio stuffed animals placed around and there are so many claw machines. For the claw machines you get two free tokens with every meal and we've actually won a time or two! Our waitress/cashier was an angle this visit. She kept giving us tokens and she said that us having a good time was so much more important than the cost. I genuinely feel like i should write this review because i don't want my favorite spot to be over populated, it's that good. The dinning area, the claw machine area, and even the bathroom all have to same beautiful feel. I couldn't recommend this place more, there is absolutely zero to complain about. The service is wonderful, the staff is amazing, and the portions are huge and cheap. This is my favorite place to eat in Pearland hands down.

Since we were in the area that day, we made a point to stop at this Wrap & Roll location to make sure it was not a fluke. And by golly, it was exactly what we hoped for! First, the portion sizes are huge as each noodle dish can feed 2-3 people. So unless you brought your appetite, you'll be needing a togo container. Main reason it's so large is because it's packed with protein. Second, the menu has a variety of items ranging from tacos/quesadillas to sandwiches, to noodles/rice, to chicken wings; so there's something for everyone here. And third, the flavors/taste of the eats. The combination fried udon is packed with shrimp/chicken/filet and all the meats are tender along with the noodles and veggies with this sweet/sour/spicy flavor that will knock out your taste buds. From what I read, all the noodle/rice dishes are similar to this. I also saw someone get the quesadilla which was huge and they immediately went silent when eating it cause they couldn't stop stuffing it in their mouth. There's no doubt I plan to return and I hope they expand closer to our neck of the woods in the Heights area. That's a wrap cause they're on a roll!
