Stuffed Catfish

Amazing is how I would describe Tookie's Seafood in all areas of theming, food, and hospitality! Tookies is known for their over the top burgers in Seabrook, Tx however they give a serious contention for best all around seafood in the gulf coast area! Parking is plentiful and the building itself is designed to serve in mass. You can either take the stairs or ride the elevator to the dining room which encompasses around 5 distinct dining areas. We were fortunate enough to order happy hour drinks and apps before the cutoff time of 6pm. Our waitress Gianna was on top of things from the greeting to the close. We started of with a 22oz beer and Long Island with the fried pickles and calamari. The apps were fresh and crispy and didn't miss on the presentation and flavor. I loved that the calamari was accompanied by hot marinara sauce and mysterious almost tartar like sauce but it wasn't just couldn't grasp what it was however it was delicious. Main entrees selected were the Stuffed Blackened Catfish with Etoufee, Blackened Stuffed Rainbow Trout and our daughter had a pound of fresh hot and spicy crawfish with corn and potatoes. My Trout was enormous and was worth every penny. It was complimented with a type of Rice Pilaf and sautéed fresh green beans with bacon. I wanted to try the Key Lime Pie or Pecan Cheesecake but was overwhelmed and totally full from dinner. Nextime? Definitely as there will be a next in the future. Highly Recommend!

First time at this restaurant. We were invited to a retirement party. Food: good portions, very fresh Ambiance: nice family atmosphere Service: Excellent. Server was very attentive. Parking: Good. Inside: Didn't care to walk up all those steps, but we did. We took the elevator back down due to the rain. Pricing: Normal to today's price increases. Yes, I would retirn.n

Service was good and fast. The inside of the restaurant was large and spread out on the second floor. The tacos were so yummy! Raw tuna, so not for everyone, but the crunch of the wonton shell along with the sauce/salsa was delicious. We also shared a dozen oysters on the half shell and they were fresh and well sized (not too small), the gumbo was also very flavorful and to our liking. I will definitely stop by if I am in the area again in the future!

Bread pudding

Fondue was amazing. We celebrated Mother's Day at Tookie's seafood and had some bread pudding. It was very hot but the server was nice enough to sit us a a different area. Very clean #tookiesseafood #buzzybooth

We finally made our way to Tookies Seafood in Seabrook. It's located at the base of the North side aka Seabrook side of the bridge on Hwy 146. There were four of us in our party so we started with the deviled eggs topped with shrimp (6 to an order) and the hush puppies (7 to an order). I really enjoy deviled eggs and these were really good. It was a first for me to have an egg topped with shrimp but it won't be the last. I'm cutting back on fried foods so I ordered the Combo under the fried section of the menu BUT I ordered it grilled. With the Combo, you pick 2 item: catfish, shrimp, chicken strips, and crawfish tails. I chose the fish and shrimp. Pretty good taste for a casual seafood restaurant. The Mrs. ordered the coconut shrimp and really liked them. Someone else in our party raves about the shrimp and grits so she ordered it again. I can tell you it looked really good!!! The service was average. We had to ask to get our glasses refilled a couple of times. They don't use cloth napkins and one paper napkin doesn't cut it. A little more attention to details would have been appreciated but when we did ask for something, we got it. These details make a difference between good and great. However, maybe we had an "average" server and the next one will be better. Bottom line - A really good casual seafood dining restaurant. We'll be back for sure. An easy 4-stars. Bon appétit, y'all.

My wife brought me here for my birthday and I am so happy she did! The service was great, the recommendations were great, and the food was amazing! We were a party of 5 and everyone enjoyed their meal!

Finished off a recent trip to Kemah and stopped by Tookies seafood on the way back. The location was convenient after hitting up the boardwalk with the family. They had a great selection of seafood and we tried the fried catfish platter, shrimp Po boy, grilled redfish, and calamari. The portions were very generous and the seafood was very fresh and flavorful.

Everything was excellent. We love the boiled shrimp. You can get them chilled or warm. We got them chilled. They are so very tasty. The seasoning is so good. Not spicy, super flavorful and a very nice size. Get them! The grilled shrimp tacos are huge and full of flavor. Seriously, the best shrimp tacos I've ever had. The slaw on top was perfect. They are huge. I could only eat 2. My husband ate the last one. It came with a small portion of rice and a cup of black beans. I didn't try either of them. I was full from the tacos and shrimp. The spinach salad was fine. The shrimp on top were nice. We love this restaurant. We have never had a bad dish here. Our server Shawn was super nice and accommodating. The restaurant was clean as always. Comfortable and not too loud. No outside seating available this time but that was alright with us. There were plenty of seats available inside.

As soon as the call connected, the lady asked if my reservation was for 8 people. I said no, I had just made a reservation for the following day at 11am and simply wanted to make sure everything looked fine on their side. She responded "oh okay," and never once mentioned there was any issue, overbooking, or possibility that our reservation would not be honored. We hung up, and naturally I believed everything was confirmed. The next morning, we arrived on time for our reservation. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere already felt uncomfortable. The staff stared at us without greeting us until a woman finally approached and asked if we needed something. I gave the reservation name, and she looked through a notebook full of scribbled notes before saying she couldn't find it and would get the manager. A man came over, asked for my name again, and then bluntly stated, "We don't have you on the list. We're fully booked until 8pm." I was honestly shocked, especially because I had specifically called the night before to confirm everything. Instead of apologizing or trying to help resolve the situation, his demeanor felt cold, dismissive, and as though we were inconveniencing them simply by showing up for a reservation we had made and confirmed. He then stated, "We emailed you stating this." Because there was already a line forming behind us, I simply said "okay" and walked out. As we were walking to the car, I checked my email -- and sure enough, the "email" had been sent at 9:55am THAT SAME MORNING. Our reservation was for 11am. Cancelling a reservation barely an hour beforehand on Mother's Day, after I had already called to confirm the reservation the previous night, was incredibly disappointing and unprofessional. This was supposed to be our first time trying this restaurant, but unfortunately the experience and the way the situation was handled left a very sour impression before we even sat down.

(Great place, the owners are fantastic, and if you have not been by there, why not? ) Back to the brewery. I was pleasantly surprised by this visit. Perhaps it was because it was after dark, the place was nicely lit, and we sat at the bar. The first time in was in the cold light of day, the place felt like a high school cafeteria and we all turned around and bounced right on out of there. Night time, the cosy lighting, and sitting at the bar with the restaurant (cafeteria feel) behind you is so much better. I found their service lacking for the lack of patrons in the place. Our glasses were empty for far longer than they should have been and we had to wait on our check to leave. The servers did appear to have great conversations with each other at the other end of the bar. Perhaps being more mindful of their customers would be more appropriate. The pluses are the Blueberry Blonde was as good as I remembered and we were introduced to Celtic Cross mead which led to a visit to their meadery. Would I come back? Yes. Whenever I feel called upon to partake of a Blueberry Blonde and when it is evening to avoid that high school cafeteria feel of the place.

I told my mum for Christmas I don't want the same ole holiday meat of turkey since I had that for Thanksgiving. I wanted something more tasty: fried fish and shrimp. Preferably a grand tasting fish: Red Snapper. Yup, oh boy yes, that good ole thick and ocean tasting red fish. Upon our arrival, my mum, sister and I walked to this fairly large building with a mountain high of stairs. Once inside the fish market smelled of its native catch and it was strong. However, the owner seen how we crunched our noses up in disgust. She immediately started to ease the smell by cleaning the floors with some mopping solution. That masked the odor a little bit until we left. Anywho, the fishes were laid up eyes open and staring at us. Although, these fish were already dead laying on a bed of ice to keep them fresh. The prices listed were affordable and market by a pound. My mum picked out some gulf shrimp and a few pieces of red snapper. I also seen what tilapia looked like as the fish isn't very pretty, but my mum adores the taste. The Atlantic salmon was beautiful looking. There were many breeds of salmon. The sheepshead fish was definitely cheap and the taste of it is amazingly soft and delicious. I sampled the one my sister caught. We proceeded towards the cash register to pay and as we assumed our meat to be sky high, it actually wasn't. Additionally, when it came Christmas Day, I had myself a full meal of pan-fried red snapper and shrimp. The taste of the red snapper was delicious. For me, I enjoy eating fish that tastes from its natural habitat, it really delights my appetite for more. My dad butterflied the shrimp and wow the taste was incredibly yummy. Consequently, there's plenty of parking. The location is just near the Pier 8 restaurant and on a strip of other fish market competitors. So, choose wisely. Now, I'm glad to say my Houston family visits this fresh market often. No more shopping at Fiesta for freshness.
