Gluten-free and dairy free review: My daughter had a pizza that was gluten and dairy free. She got a Hawaiian pizza, but please know they put pepperoni on their Hawaiian. I believe it was the closest thing to Had. They were very willing to change it for me, but we decided she could pick them off. We went during the afternoon. I have been holding on to my review for months, but I have certainly not forgotten. I think about the food here daily and if I lived remotely close I would visit all the time. What we ordered was not for the weak. I did order a salad because -balance. The salad was great, very substantial and a meal on its own. We ordered a crawfish pizza. Never had crawfish pizza, never even thought about it. Genius, just genius. All the accompanying toppings perfectly came together. Nothing was missing this is perfection on a pizza. It is a greasy one because of the generous amount of cheese. My biggest mistake was not taking another to go. Hesitantly we ordered the inferno wings. Not because we thought it was going to be too hot, but because we were afraid it was going to be all hype and we were going to be left wanting more heat. We were wrong. So wrong. I will repeat these are not for the weak. These wings were every bit of what they said they were going to be. They were not playing any games. I only wish they came in like a one or two piece option. Only because I'm sure eating an entire order would send someone into a pancreatic attack (been there). Inferno lives up to their name and highly recommend them. Prepare yourself though. If you order them have all your drinks lined up. More than one. Have plenty of paper towels. If you're wearing masacra make sure its waterproof. Have other food options readily available and DO NOT touch these with your fingers. Dan's Pizza never disappoints, and we order from this place at least once a month. They have a variety of unique pizzas that we typically order, and their wings are always very tasty. They deliver to our house, so it's extremely convenient for us. We've never actually been to the location, but I have driven by and it looks pretty cute. read more

I have never in my life ordered food, took one bite, and threw the rest out. The so called award winning wings were disgusting. We ordered 12 fried wings, half spicy buffalo and half hot bbq. As we picked them up they said it just came out of the fryer so I am expecting them to be crispy (I know that taking wings to go can lose some of it's crispness during travel) but these were just plain rubbery and barely cooked. They were literally not edible as I was gagging while taking a bite. I can't believe this is what they gave us. We also asked for ranch and blue cheese and only got blue cheese. We were the only ones there about 1230PM. Nobody would come to the window to take our order and the cook just stared at me. I had time to get the phone # and call.....girl came from out back after 10-15 rings and put me on hold. Took out her airpods then opened the window to take our orders. Pizza sauce, cheese and pepperoni had good flavor. The dough and crust was bland with no flavor but had a good crunch. Vegas fries were good also. Watch out for the cats!!! Stayed at the Courtyard next door and we ordered a pizza for pickup after swimming. There is no easy access via walking but that's okay. The pick up window is separate from the dine in window and no one was bartending. It would have been cool to get a drink while I wait for my order. Pizza was good, hot and fresh, good salad. I'm going to be quite honest about this review and promise you that I will perform a more thorough review when I actually go to this restaurant and I will make it a point to visit soon. While I was at Coco's Canal (another place you must try if you enjoy epicurean mixology) I asked the bartender whether there was a restaurant in close proximity likely to deliver and she stated without hesitating or equivocating that I should order Pizza from Dan's. I hopped on the phone and spoke to one of the most helpful and courteous phone 'order takers' explained where I was and what I needed and discussed briefly his pizza options and an appropriate size for about 10 adults and he suggested a Carnivore Dan-o-Saur which is an Extra Large Version of a pepperoni, beef, ham, sausage bacon and extra cheese on an incredibly delicious perfectly cooked Pizza with a wonderful, subtly flavored pizza sauce that was a perfect temperature, delivered (proper temperature pizza delivered in and of itself should be 5 Stars) and frankly because I grabbed 2 or 3 slices as I was exiting...I have thought about the gift I left behind with sheer strangers and how absolutely flavorful the pizza was and have set a goal for an actual visit and dining experience at Dan's. I'll leave you with one thought...it's not a boast but akin to a Texan making claim about the deliciousness of Bar-B-Cue...I'm a New Yorker...Bagels and Lox...a Knish from a Street Vendor and Cold Cuts are the absolute 'delicacies' you'll hear about from every New Yorker however there is no food so sacred as Pizza in New York...I have had Pizza from nearly every revered 'Parlor' in Houston and Dallas (never San Antonio because I'm either at El Mercado or eating comfort food along the River Walk) and none have reached the level of New York...until I tried Dan's. This review is a 'first impression' version after ordering for pickup on a Saturday evening. The pizza here is good, as is the service. As first-timers, we ordered the standard -- a plain (cheese) and a pepperoni (amore). We asked for extra sauce and Dan's delivered, unlike so many other joints that seem to ignore that request. We asked for NY-style crust and, while it was thin, it didn't have the trademark chewy/crisp that NY-style crusts are known for. The sauce here has a very nice bite. It's rich. Same with the cheese and the pepperoni. All of it is quality. Admittedly, I'm too old for the double cheese and double pepperoni on the amore version. Fact is, you need a lot of napkins for this version. Still, it tastes wonderful. I ordered after seeing much about this place on social media. As a Houston transplant from Colorado, I miss al fresco dining--so this place in a treehouse with fantastic pizza ticks a lot of boxes! The clever recipes have been delicious--including the GF options. The times I've been, some of the staff seemed to be there half-heartedly. I dislike that feeling of imposing my business on folks. And the paper plates are ok, but it would be nice to have slightly thicker ones. read more

Dan's is one of my favorite pizza places in the Bay Area. Several people said the Kemal location was the best. To me it was delicious, but consistent with the other locations. The outside patio is cute being set up above on a balcony. Not recommended right now for the heat. They did have several fans blowing. read more

I had to use this location because I've relocated and I've used the other location on hwy 3 for years, last night was the first time at Kemah location and this morning I wake up with a new charge delivery driver added a tip to the card charge as the driver was tipped cash ! Well thanks to John they definitely have another chance with me he went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of refunded the extra charge! Shame on the person who felt right to charge someone's card but definitely will give them another chance thanks JOHN for making things right! Mind you, no business is perfect. Everyone has bad days, and Dans is no exception. They've flubbed on our order a couple of times. Having said that, while there are a couple of competitors close by with very good Pizza, Dan's is hands down the absolute best you are going to get. Chosing a crust is going to be hard to do as every one of them we have tried is fantastic. They even have a cauliflower crust that is so well done, it tastes almost like a regular thin crust and is oh so good... Seriously, take the time and try them all, you'll see! The sauce is zesty and flavorful, and all the toppings, fresh, and generous. Served with crushed red pepper and parmesan cheese to boot! They also have other items that are wonderful as well, including a Lasagna that my wife and I both love. We'll often get an order of lasagna, and salads and split the lasagna. MUCH better than the big chain Italian places. The atmosphere is a bit hippie / quirky, which is slightly out of step, but not entirely with Kemah. They've got enough beach theme-y going on that it's like hanging out with friends on the beach by their old VW bus. Maybe younger folks can't relate to that though. Uh... Prius... yeah, that... On top of the food, Dan's has great, friendly staff. When mistakes are made, go all golden rule and watch these folks shine! Minor issues like toppings wanted left off but were there? No problem! Delivery running late? Here's the status. We remade your pizza to be sure it gets to you hot! This Dan's location is in the Kemah boardwalk area, and as such is subject to delay caused by all the road construction on highway 146. On one such delivery our pizza was taking a long time to get to me as the driver was backed way up in traffic. Dan himself had the pizza remade for me and he delivered it in person. How many businesses do you know of that will go that far out of their way for a customer? I am usually not quite so enthusiastic about a restaurant, especially "just a pizza joint", but Dan's is really something special. You really ought to give them a try... read more
