Ambiance, inside bar--meh, the bartenders (4?) were so into themselves and selfies you could barely get a drink--and it was a small bar-- The place did however, seem to have a large outdoor space with a lot of games and large TV's. I was a part of a group in town for a meeting and we were looking for something fun to do by the water. This looked like a fun area, so we followed the music to find the Kipp Rose. This funky place was low key but it was early on a Thursday. We had a good time anyway, just hanging outside and playing bags. Seemed like there were some biting i sects in the fake grass, and it would have been nice to have a waitress come by to check on us. Im assuming on busier nights they probably have more staff. Tied for first place as my favorite Kemah bar! The location is great. We love the bartenders- especially Michelle, Ona and Suzie!! The drinks are well priced and the tacos that they have sometimes on weekends are cheap and delicious, plus cooked right in front of you. There is so much entertainment including a giant chess board on the lawn. They now have a firepit with porch swings surrounding it and built in booths on the patio. It's the perfect combination of upscale but relaxed and I always see a ton of old friends or make friends while I'm there. Ps. Security is on point-we love Deon! read more

Fun bar with an outdoor patio! Kipp is walking distance from the Kemah Boardwalk historic district so I always stop by for a cold drink. The pool table is always broken which is disappointing. But I had an amazing Long Island here. The crowd gets kinda rowdy on Saturday nights. read more

Y'all..IDK what to even say about this place. Maybe it was the people but my last experience here was odd. Initially I loved the entire venue, indoor and outdoor bar with a small taco stand outside for the tipsy tourbadors and drunken dolls to have a bite after last call. Everyone was nice, chilled on a perfect Spring day ordered a beer and worked myself outside on their patio and sat on their rocking chair after I did a couple of my dance moves inside to cool off and that is when it started getting bad. As I enjoyed the lovely breeze rocking on the chair with my beer on my hand all of a sudden I hear bottles breaking, men cursing and people running....BAR FIGHT! I was alerted and trying to figure out what was happening but long story short two men argued and then that was all, no one was kicked out. Yup, like nothing ever happened. Good thing? I am not sure but it made me feel a little uneasy that there was no consequences and no one was kicked out so I just left. Cheap Drinks+Heavy Pour=Win, Local Dive Bar for sure through out the week. A variety of Bartenders there that are attentive and are approachable. Woman and Men. The short Blonde Shelby is so great. She's Hilarious, funnier when she's interacting with the Cute XL Kane Brown., If you stay long enough at the bar you'll hear him singing and it's worth it. We go Wednesday's for Karaoke. Tacos are on point. From what I know they have specials all week. Monday's They have like a DJ and Painting and a Beerpong Tournament, and Video game tournaments. Friday ad Saturday is usually a toss up between a live band or a DJ. The DJ is always good. Takes request and is respectful. Industry folks like myself are very well taken care of. read more

I love the 504. It is our favorite hangout in Kemah. There is always parking, because of their private parking lot next door, they have cheap and good drinks and the atmosphere is great. The bartenders are quick to recognize you and they can even make some pretty good cocktails. Downstairs is usually busy and crowded (especially on Karaoke and live music nights), but if you want some more space to talk and relax, you can go upstairs or outside where it's usually calmer. The outside is also excellent for 4th or July fireworks watching, especially now with the new upstairs patio. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars for me is that people smoke there, although I recognize that it does add to the atmosphere. It's also not as bad that you really notice it when you're there, but your clothes will smell afterwards. So if you don't mind that, I would give it 5 stars. read more

Ok so I sometimes go here to watch Texans games. It is billed as a sports bar but really only has one decent size TV downstairs. Still I love the place. The bartenders and the crowd are always so much fun. The prices are decent on beer and the deck is nice to sit on and people watch on the weekends. One big bonus(and I mean big) is they have their own parking lot. Parking is at a premium in the area and Zone 504 is one of the only places with it's own parking. They do sell food but it is very limited. Great fun crowd and bar. Only thing I would like to see is either a bigger flat screen or maybe a couple more throughout the bar read more

Went to see a band play. Bar was fun, and enjoyed myself. I had 3 beers and bought my friends each a beer. All was normal until I got my bank statement 3 days later and they had ran my card twice within 48 seconds. Apparently I got to pay someone else's tab for 5 drinks. Drinks I would never even order. Owner said I did it and must have been to drunk to remember. Said it's not our fault you do things ya can't remember. Oh hell no!! I was there for 5 hours and had 3 beers. She sent me the receipts. Signature was a good try but not mine. I have heard from a lot of people the owner and staff are shady and even know friends who won't go there because they pull this all the time. If you do go, pay with cash and don't run a tab. read more

We were told by some locals to visit this strip of bars but Kipp Rose was the only one we made it to. The bartenders were nice and the music was good. Decor was neat as well. We were there for about 20 mins when a guest sucker punched another (much smaller guy) right on the dance floor and knocked him out cold. His head hit the floor hard enough that an ambulance should've been called. He was bleeding all over himself and the dance floor. He was knocked out way longer than he should've been. He even started jerking...like he was trying to gasp for air but he couldn't. Maybe due to the blood. I'm not sure. Myself and several other patrons tried to help him while the bouncer stood aside and did NOTHING. When questioned about calling either the cops or paramedics he said "I'm gonna give him a minute." It was CLEAR he wasn't concerned about getting the kid help. Cops and paramedics were never called. Bouncer never even bent down to help him up, he didn't clear the dance floor, they didn't handle the guy who hit him...nothing. No one came to his aide except the guests. The guy that punched him was standing outside on the patio with some other guys and bouncers laughing about the whole thing. Finally my husband told me to step back cause the bouncers were in on it. Obviously it was planned. Finally someone (too drunk to walk straight) carried the guy out to their car, but he returned to drink more while the kid was left knocked out and bleeding in the front seat. It was a complete shit show and the owner should know the bouncer watching the bar did NOT handle the situation properly. I understand fights happen all the time and maybe he even had it coming...but this was planned, the kid was blindsided, the bouncers allowed it to happen, and this is the exact situation where someone dies from head trauma. The bouncers did zero to handle the situation. A lot of the guests left right after it happened. If nothing serious came of this, then the bar dodged a major bullet. Disgusting behavior. It's unfortunate because the bar could have such a great atmosphere and the bartenders were great. read more

Can't attest to the bar itself but the guy selling tacos inside the bar charged me $60 for 3 tacos when they were $2 each. He said he didn't accept credit cards so I gave him my phone to enter his cashapp username and he charged me $60 instead of $6. Then says he doesn't allow refunds. Also to note the taco stand is unlicensed. Beware of this bar and the taco stand operating in the bar as well. read more

I'm a juvenile probation officer and have been trying to collect food and toiletries for a family that has been displaced by Hurricane Harvey. Zone 504 has been collecting donations for Harvey victims and they graciously gave me three boxes of food and a box of toiletry kits to help my client's family. They have been a great asset to the community during this disaster and I know that their hard work and dedication has benefitted countless others who were affected by the recent storm. Heather was able to quickly offer assistance and coordinated a donation pickup within an hour of me reaching out to her. This bar is under new management. Prices went up for all drinks. My girlfriends vodka and red bull did not have even a hint of vodka and my Shiner was almost $4.50. This used to be a great bar with strong drinks and cheap beer. Hopefully management quickly realizes their mistake because most people will figure out there are nicer bars with live music in Kemah that have better drinks and prices. read more

We've been going here for some time because the bartender has always been pretty cool. That is until his "woman" started sitting at the end of the bar on her high horse being a total witch. I've never been treated so rudely in all my life for just trying to have a friendly conversation. We will NEVER go back. We always tipped way over 20%, even bought the bartender shots and were good customers with high bills from top shelf liquor. She treated us like pond scum. She probably needs to find a new hobby other than sitting in his bar drinking for free thinking she's better than all the locals who pay their bills!!! RUDE!!! read more
