When they say "small" in the description of the room size they should say "shoe box". Stayed here for 2 nights this week and couldn't get out soon enough. I've never seen such a small bathroom too. Even cruise ship cabins have larger bathrooms. The icing on the cake for me was having to go to a closet in the public hallway to find an iron and ironing board. Really, how hard would it be to put one in each room. Won't ever come back here. read more

The only thing about this hotel that I can nag about is, we made a reservation at one (Central Loop), but our room was in the other (Club Quarters). So, which do I review?? Either way, we were really happy with this choice. It is centrally located, within walking distance of lots and lots of good Chicago venues, a 6 minute walk from the train, and a two minute walk to the CTA. Our room was fine although the A/C was pretty wonky, bathroom is cruise-ship small, but still fine, the mattress was great, there is an exercise mat in the closet (but, does it get cleaned after every guest's visit?) and, yes, the walls are kind of thin (WHY do people talk so loud when they return to their rooms late at night anyway?!), but we heard hardly any street noise other than police and ambulance sirens. We love the hotel's amenities: chessboards, fireplace, couches, bar stools and upholstered chairs in the lobby. The same in downstairs "living room" as well as free snacks (nuts, seeds, M&Ms, wasabi peas), apples, and coffees and teas, and sodas (I think that these are only available on the week ends), plus granola bars in the mornings AND a free wine and cheese get together at 5 Monday through Fridays. Very nice touch. The fitness center is adequate, including a Peleton, for those who are subscribers. The front desk(s) staff (remember, this is two hotels in one. Kind of. I think.) is very welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable. You can print your boarding passes for free, as well as use the myriad computers in the LR, plus there are two small conference areas/quiet rooms there, and a large screen TV. I would definitely stay here again. read more

I stayed at this hotel a few years ago and really liked it. This time, July 7, 2021, I was very disappointed. I checked in and went up to my room to find dirty towels and an unmade bed. I called the front desk and said that the room was not serviced and asked when that would happen. I was told that housekeeping would not enter the rooms. I should have pointed out that I had just checked in, but I was exhausted and just asked for towels. I spread the towels out on the bed and pillows so that I would have a clean surface for sleeping. I won't stay here again. read more

Very disappointing - downhill over the past several months. They say 'breakfast is included ... fruit, yogurt, etc.' - NOT ON WEEKENDS. They say 'daily healthy and salty snacks ' - OOPS, they cut that out, too. They say 'wine at 5pm' - NOT. The construction 'til 12:30am didn't exactly put me in a 'cheery mood'. Gave it a 2nd star, because beds and pillows are nice. Overall, in need of a major face lift as well ... dingy halls and ragged carpets. AT read more

This place is disgusting. Should have known there was a problem when we walked in. First guests we ran into informed us they had bed bugs in their room, which was proven by her multiple bed bug bite marks. As we get to our room, the hallways were disgusting. There were garbage and stains everywhere. When we got to our room, we decided to check the bed. There were multiple hairs including what appeared to be pubic hair on the bed sheets. There was also what looked like a urine stain on the mattress. We cancelled the reservation and checked out immediately. DO NOT STAY HERE! read more

The small room is truly tiny -- ideal for one person, fine for two people who really, really like each other. The bathroom is not just tiny but bad. There's virtually no space for your essentials and the otherwise-spacious shower stall has a shower curtain that's about two inches two short to prevent water from spraying onto the bathroom floor. Would have been ok if they didn't skimp on towels -- we had to keep asking for more than just the two body towels and one washcloth and hand towel provided for just the two of us. We crushed a cockroach in the hallway right next to a vaccuum cleaner in recent use by the cleaning service, and the sad little carcass was still in that spot three days later. Our room did seem clean, but the bug thing makes us wonder about the hotel's attention to detail in this area. read more

I was pretty satisfied with my stay. With that said, my expectations for hots have gone down in the last few months bc ive been staying at a lot of disappointing hotels all over the country. Wifi was adequate. Room was clean. Business center room was helpful and equipped w a working printer. There was a dictionary and other random books in the room forreading. They had complimentary chilled water on a lot of the floors. Area to print boarding pass. read more

Room was very small for a Chicago suite. Definitely not worth the price. The only advantage was being in the financial district. Floor had holes in it that were covered with carpet, robe had holes in it. Refrigerator was coming apart on the right side. Bathroom amenities were on a small shelf, right above the toilet. Went to dry my hands on the towel, and you guessed it...the shampoo fell in the toilet. The counter would be a better location for these. Also, the cups in the bathroom were not in paper, just bare on the counter. Gross! To top things off, valet took my work parking pass off my car, denied it, and with lots of phone calls back and forth and still ending up nowhere, I never got any resolution, nor even an apology. Will definitely not EVER stay here again. read more

The staff is always accommodating and friendly. Rooms are not large but have all the essentials at an excellent price for downtown Chicago. Plus it's close to all kinds of shopping, restaurants and nightlife. Also within walking distance to the train station. As an added plus they let us cancel our stay last minute due to the Covid-19 outbreak. Will 100% use them again. read more

For the price, I expected a room that was more updated. There's no where to put your toiletries on the bathroom counter because it is so narrow. We got a room right off the elevator so it was pretty noisy. There was no iron or ironing board which I found odd. The first night we were left one washcloth and one hand towel so I left a very nice note for the maid (please and thank you) to ask for two of each. Guess what? We got back to find only one of each again. Seriously? I called down and someone brought more up, but that's not the point. The kicker, the hotel has no parking garage so after paying $475 for the room for two nights, we had to walk two blocks with our suitcases and pay $90 to park. Of course, we could have had valet parking but that would have cost even more. I do have to say that the location of the hotel was great. All in all, we loved seeing Chicago, so it was worth the money! read more

I booked this hotel through Hotels.com. 350.00 per night. This is a big expense for a teacher. We booked it for two nights for parents weekend for my daughter in college. Three people. Imagine my surprise when that meant 1 small queen and a pull out chair, less than 24" across not to mention how dirty it is. They are rude and in no way should be considered anything but a 1 maybe 2 star. It is completely disappointing. I complained and they basically said your stuck with it. Dont let the pictures fool you. You couldn't pay me to stay here again. Pissed customer....should have looked at these reviews sooner. read more

Great budget business hotel in the heart of Chicago. Perfect location for downtown adventures and traveling to all other parts of the city. Closest to the Quincy, Adams/Wabash, Jackson, Millenium Station, and Union Station train stops. Personable staff with great recommendations and suggestions for things to do in the city. This is a no frills hotel, so don't expect luxury, but they have all the accommodations necessary for a simple stay. read more

WOW! I was lucky to find this place. It was right downtown in the Loop, in proximity of everything. The price was amazing ($100 per night!). I didn't expect to stay longer than a night, but I extended my stay by several days. The process of extending my stay was extremely easy, even though it was on short notice. I was traveling alone and the room size, although small, was perfect for someone out and about all day. There was one afternoon where I stayed in the room, and it never felt claustraphobic. The room and the hotel were clean and modern. Plenty of closet space and plenty of space in the bathroom. Comfortable bed, too. Even if I visited again with my family, I wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Central Loop again. This place was a great find! read more

I really enjoyed my stay at the CLoop. The girlfriend and I stayed for 3 nights and it was a blast as we made full use of the amenities. BROTIPS: -- Other reviewers talk about small rooms: Meh. I travel in Japan quite a bit, so I am used to rooms where you can touch both ends of the walls at once (I am 5'5) Compared to that, these rooms fit the girl and I rather comfortably. -- Keurig in da room, which was easy to use and convenient -- Everything was nice and clean in the room, no weirdness -- only noise came from the hallways when drunk people sauntered into their rooms --Gym is actually pretty baller for a hotel with elliptical, treadmills, bike, free weights, med balls, and two benches -- FREE UNLIMITED SNACKS Mon-Fri!!!! DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS MEANNSS??? FREE coke and sierra mist, m&ms, wasabi peas, peanuts, fruit, olives, seeds, and cookies all next to a latte machine!!!!! -- Free bottled water on most floors --Great service -- ample security (to go anywhere, you need your room card) But best of all is this place's location. If you did the city pass like me, then you do not need to take public transportation anywhere, as all the attractions are within walking distance. 10 mins from millennium park and the art museum, 5 mins to the WIllis tower, and 20 minutesto the Shedd aquarium and Field museum. All of this for a Chicago Cheap price??? Heck Ya! I will be back read more

The location of this place is awesome! Just as the name implies, it's situated right in the middle of the Central Loop, giving you access to everything downtown Chicago has to offer within minutes! We arrived early and came in soaking wet due to the rain and the person helping us checked us in early with no fee and was SO friendly. We're both from California!!! The room was of a good size and clean. It came with a fridge and a microwave which was so convenient. Bathroom was nice, it needs a little more counter space and a little more surface to put shampoo in the shower, but I'm not complaining. We had the best stay here! Any time I'm in Chicago, I'll be checking out this place first! Highly recommend. read more

Shocked at the low average rating, but then I realized there were only 2 reviews. Because this hotel is catered to business-travelers, I could see why business travelers don't really care about Yelping. In anycase, upon landing we jumped into the orange line train and got off and walked 3 blocks to get here..all under 45 minutes. How easy and convenient. This place is in PRIME location. No frills, no fancy lobby, but it's clean, simple, and modern. The room has everything you'll need for your stay, including COFFEE/TEA, FREE WiFi, and FREE H20 (by the elevators). With all that to offer, I can't give it under 4 stars...whenever I travel, a coffee in the morning will run me $3, WiFi at most hotels is $10, and water bottles are $1-2 at the grocery...so I'm saving myself $15 a day =P The room itself is more like a high 3-star, like a good, solid 3.5 star, hotel. The room is small in terms of square footage, but it's designed to make the most of its space. The desk, mounted flat tv, couch, do their job surrounding the Queen bed. All in all, I'm very satisfied with this place. Walk 2-3 blocks and you're in prime shopping areas, cafes, and Millennium Park.! read more

The Central Loop Hotel is a very decent, affordable hotel located in the Loop. Room was very clean and the hotel has everything you really need. The room is a little on the small side, but for the affordable price, I could not complain. Not a 4-5 star luxury room with all the renovations and bells/whistles, but very clean and a modern boutique touch to it (I did find a very tiny spot/stain on one of the sheets, but the replacement sheet the next day was completely clean). The only reason for docking 1 star is that there is really no information about any of the hotel amenities. On check-in, they let you know the location of the gym, but that is about it. I know hotels are going away from having big booklets in the rooms that describe all the amenities, but many provide at least provide a small index card that list the basic amenities. I had to Google to find out the following: that the irons/ironing boards are located in a central closet in the hallway, that they have a complementary wine tasting at 5pm on weekdays, the restaurant that provides room service (how to access the menu- which is through the TV), wifi information, etc. Again, a simple index card with some of this basic info during check-in would be have been very helpful. Kind of weird that you have to use Google to find this information. I would doc another half a star because the bed was not the most comfortable that I have experienced (although I have lots of back/shoulder problems). For the average person it would likely be fine, so I won't doc a full star. Overall, it was a great hotel for the value though. read more

I had no problems at all with this delightful place and plan to use it again and again, Why do I feel it deserves 5 stars? Read below! (Order due to memory, not importance.) 1. Location (walking distance from much nightlife, plus all the CTA lines are nearby). Willis Towers (formerly Sears) is about a block away. 2. Black-out blinds!!! (Seriously, why do most US hotels allow so much light in? It makes me grind my teeth--the light, that is.) 3. Endless amounts of pure, filtered, delicious, cold water and reusable bottles to take along. It is usually extraordinarily difficult to take in my usual eight cups a day when traveling. 4. Fitness: a lovely exercise room with everything one could desire (and extras--a DVD player with three workout DVDs): super thick and comfy workout pads, lots of brand new cardio equipment (elliptical crosstrainers and treadmills), the typical weight machines, and tons of free weights. Also with water and cups, plus towels for wiping down, etc. There is a bathroom close by as well. 5. More Fitness!!! They also offer (for free) a yoga kit and/or exercise bike which will be lent TO the room. I didn't take advantage of this, but there was one more "delivered to the room" option which I've forgotten. 6. Adorable: a little globe sat next to three books on a shelf above the desk. One of the books was an Oxford English dictionary, and I needed to look a word up (disagreement with husband on meaning). This was delightful (even though I was wrong). 7. Staff: Helpful, friendly, efficient, super fast. 8. Comfy Bed: I normally have lower back pain after staying in any bed not my own, but I didn't--not after either night. 9. Technology: Free wi-fi and computers guests can use downstairs. Self-service kiosks to check in (speedy). Flat screen TV, which means nothing to me, but excites too many . . . 10. Misc: Very clean (actually this is deeply important to me, and the bathroom was perfect--a much more expensive place I had to stay recently did not do so well in that area)!!! Bar and restaurant attached--good food, reasonably priced. 11. I hope I got everything in. I'm glad I won't have to do any research before my next trip to Chicago! read more

My boyfriend found this place on Hotels.com, and it cost us $342 for three nights in mid-December. I thought the price was completely worth it because the hotel's location was so convenient! It's within walking distance to most tourist attractions. Well...it was pretty far from the Navy Pier, but we walked anyway. It's down the street from the Art Institute and The Bean, and if you walk in the opposing direction you'll reach the Willis Tower (Skydeck). There are more than enough restaurants, bars, grocery stores, and even shopping stores nearby as well. Seriously...the location could not get any more perfect. Before booking this hotel, we considered staying out of the city, renting a car or taking the train, but staying at Central Loop (also called Club Quarters) made transportation so much easier. The rooms are a little tight, and there's a good chance you'll get a room wedged into the corner next to two other rooms (you'll see when you get there..their hallway layouts are a little strange). Nevertheless, it was cozy and provided everything we needed for our first trip to Chicago. I definitely recommend staying here! read more

My in-laws Pricelined our rooms at the Central Loop Hotel for $110/night. For Chicago during Labor Day weekend, that ain't bad. We were really pleased for various reasons: 1) Valet is 36, Self Park is 20. May seem like a lot, but in the city that is reasonable. 2) It is close to various locations, but off-the-beaten-path enough that it doesn't feel crowded loading in and out. 3) You need your room key to ride the elevator, a nice added safety precaution, if that sort of thing concerns you when staying in the city. 4) Small rooms, BUT, high ceilings and smart layout make it feel big. 5) Free wireless internet (pretty fast) 6) Nice European bath products 7) Great shower head We will definitely return! read more

Not much to add here: Great hotel with cool amenities. Rooms tend to be small, but you've got everything you need: Comfy bed... TV if needed... FREE (!) wifi that's actually fast for a hotel (7Mbps down)... free purified chilled water near all elevators... automated check-in/check-out... business center with dedicated boarding pass printing... EXCELLENT location... Shares a property with Club Quarters. Not sure how that works out, since it's one building, but no complaints here. read more

I'm torn between a 3 and 4 star. It's more like a 3.5 Pros Self Check in and out Kiosk No frills but no hidden cost It's exactly what it claims to be Restaurant downstairs Free Wi-Fi Free filtered water Close to everything (subways, sights) Cons No one told me about the guest closet (so I didn't know where the iron was!) The room was on the small size (but I knew that) The TV was extremely small No Frills Also, I was confused because it's called Club Quarters and Central Loop Hotel ??? So, it's a good hotel. It's cheap and great for business folks and people who just need a place to sleep (vacations!). read more

I got a great deal on Expedia, and while the rooms are small, you won't be spending much time in your room considering how close by the attractions are. While a lot of businesses are closed in the Loop on the weekend, there is an Elephant & Castle pub/restaurant on the first floor that is open until 11 pm, and a 24-hour 7 Eleven kitty corner from the hotel. The only oddity was that some of the rooms have doors that face each other at an angle, so every time our neighbor opened his door, I could hear it and it sounded like someone was trying to get into our room (strike one for the paranoid sleeper). read more

You pay for what you get. Central Loop Hotel is one of the less expensive hotels within The Loop of Chicago. The price might even throw you off -- like it is too good to be true. But for a relatively low price, you get a hotel that is right in the middle of downtown Chicago. It is just steps from the W Hotel City Center too. The rooms are decent and small in size. The bathroom was adequate and, again, there was no reason to complain (or brag) about the amenities. There was a shower, a sink, and a toilet. They all worked and that's all you need. The front desk staff was very friendly. There is a lounge in the basement (somewhat hidden) that has copious amounts of snacks, soda, and coffee along with computer stations. The hotel is next door (literally) to a Starbucks and it is connected (literally) to a bar called the Elephant & Castle that seems to be a hot after-work spot for Chicago business folks. All in all, this is a great value hotel that gives you just what you need for a good price -- a great location, decent rooms, and some comfortable amenities in the lounge. read more

For the price and the location you can't beat it. Service is excellent, the rooms are very thoroughly cleaned each day, and for business travelers the WiFi here is among the best I've seen at a hotel. Even during a peak time the speeds were more than adequate for getting things done. The bed was a little uncomfortable and the room is small, but for the price and location you won't do better. And the best part is that you really don't have to compromise on quality to save a few bucks. read more

I will never stay there again. Air conditioning didn't work, and the bathroom smelled like sewage was backed up. In top of this, I have never seen a hotel room that small before. I roughed it through one night but never again. read more

The location is a big plus, many tourist attractions within a walkable distance. They do offer refillable water bottles which is great. The hotel is nice, but the service was very dissapointing. I stayed there for 4 nights and didnt have housekeeping, talked to the concierge about it and they just kept saying theyll send them next morning, but never arrived. Also had issues with the toilet and had to wait 2 days until maintenance came to fix it. The front desk staff were ok, not as helpful as they could be. Overall, dissapointing for the price of the hotel. read more

This hotel is great! Everyone at the front desk was so helpful and knowledgeable (heck, they even knew where I should go to pick up the 60 bus towards Cicero). The machines where you can fill up a plastic bottle of water and then re-use it make so much sense; I can't believe other places haven't caught on to this. The Wi-Fi was free, which was a pleasant surprise (usually I've found that the cost of a hotel's Wi-Fi is inversely proportional to the hotel's rates). The size of the room is what you'd expect for something smack dab in the middle of the Loop (i.e., it's going to be on the small side). The location is super convenient too. It's not as "cool" as staying at the Drake Hotel and your view will probably just be other buildings and a 7-Eleven, but it's still a great value and an awesome place. read more

Central Loop and Club Quarters is the same hotel! Great value for our money. Perfect location with easy on/off of multiple transportation systems. The hotel was clean and the staff was helpful. Great location, great price, great service. The parking ramp is a few blocks away but the hotel partially validates your ticket, knocking the overnight price from about $32 to about $22. The rooms are small but clean. The linens are fine, not luxurious but definitely clean. Each floor has a water bottle fill station and complimentary water bottles, which was a nice touch. I booked my room through Priceline and saved about $100. read more

Booked this hotel through Hotwire's deal (listed as a 4 star hotel), we ended up checking out within an hour! No idea how this hotel is rated 4 stars! Check in was quick, about the only good thing about the hotel, however the person checking us in could have cared less about us or customer service. We take the elevator up to our floor as soon as we step off the elevator the entire floor smells of marijuana. We enter the room and there is a lingering foul body odor smell in the entire room! Needless to say we checked out and canceled that reservation! Very disappointing. read more

For the price the location and cleanliness can't be beat. One note take up the sound machine. Woke-up at 4 am to clanging pipe. Now I know I would read that and think, 'yeah, pipes are noisy'. Well the staff is very nice and the room not so bad. But as the service was very good I rated it 4 star (well I hesitate a lot with 3)! Excellent place to lay your head. I would have gave it gave it 5 stars if not for a lack of a fridge or no iron in the room. The room is small but hey, I'm only there to sleep anyways. It's in a great location and came at a great price. After reading reviews, I'm here to confirm that the room is pretty damn small. It's clean, well kept, but very small. The staff was very good and the service was impeccable. They have machines where you can check in and check out yourself, although there are always plenty of staff around to do it for you! My check in took 5 minutes and I was in my room in 10 - super convenient! This hotel also has a gym, work area with computers and a nice lounge upstairs with coffee and water. On each floor they have purified water machines with refillable water bottles, which was very nice. The only gripe I have is that it was pretty cold the weekend I was there and I realized that their central air only pumps out cold or hot air, and it was set to cold. So, when it was 60 outside, we were in an ice box. When we called, they provided a small space heater, but it was still pretty inconvenient that we had to learn about the lack of heat the hard way. BUT with that said, it was worth it. The location is great and I would stay here again. read more

I wish I could give it 3.5 stars, not 3. Let me start with the good, the location is great!! I was there for work and it was extremely easy to get to and from work. Everything is pretty much within walking distance, restaurants, sightseeing. The staff is very accommodating, I needed an iron and board so they delivered it to my room. Now, the not so great about this hotel. The rooms and bathrooms are tiny. The rooms need to be remodeled, it is extremely outdated, especially the bathroom. They charged over $220 per night so I suggest they at least give it a face-lift to make up for the price. read more
