I was torn between a 3 and a 4. Location-Perfect! We were in town for a game at Soldier Field. Was awesome for being so close to much of downtown and super close to two L stations. Neighborhood is a little abandoned at night, but still felt safe. Price-We felt pretty good to have that location at about $150 a night. We are big on avoiding rental cars on vacation, and this was one of the few places we could afford to do so. Service-Everyone is friendly and helpful. They held our bags from 10:00AM-5:00PM the day of check out and it was easy, free, and efficient. Restaurant-The Elephant and Castle downstairs is a real paradox. It has an awesome and comfy environment. We ate their twice over the weekend because it didn't require us to be out in the cold. The service was ok, but as slow as I've ever seen. The food makes the word "mediocre" sound exciting. Bland and blah. Cleanliness and Appearance-Our room was fine. Several places had nicks in the paint and/or wall, suggesting it had been awhile since touchup, or the guy before us was terribly clutzy. Its a small thing, but there was a plate of room service in the hall when we checked in Friday at 4:30PM. It was not removed until sometime after bed Saturday night. That's just laziness. Paper Thin Walls-We saw this on a lot of reviews, and it is totally true. The walls might as well be made of newsprint for sound. We had some noisy neighbors that got in about 2AM the first night, and woke me several times. This is a pretty big problem given how tight the rooms are together. You hear every door that opens within 20 yards of your door. In the end we are heavy sleepers, so we overcame it. This place is all about location and price. If you want to be in the heart of the action, near public transportation, and aren't willing or able to pay $300+ a night, this is the place. Its good enough to be worth a stay. If you wake easily from noise, you won't be able to sleep here. read more

Definitely one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. I don't usually stay in hotels that could be classified as "nice" so being here was really a great time. The room had a small kitchen area and we were on the corner of the building so we had a view of downtown in both directions. The staff was nice and the bed was ridiculously comfortable. 10/10 will stay here everytime I go to Chicago read more

The hotel was 3 of 10 in my own opinion. No ice on my floor no iron in the room, and the worst thing of all were the taxes of $53 a night for parking that was never disclosed. You're better off paying for a nice hotel near the Navy Pier. read more

it was a clean hotel! the rooms weren't the newest and most of the staff was nice and helpful however there was no housekeeping and we were never notified that we wouldn't be getting any of those services. also when we were leaving we gave the women at the front desk our ticket for our luggage, she said it would be 10 minutes. after a half hour we asked where our luggage was and she asked who we gave the claim ticket to. you!! she lost it and my boyfriend had to go to the storage room himself to get the luggage. read more

Great hotel for the price. Rooms are on the small side but they are comfortable. Easy to get a cab and restaurants are down the block.

Great location, rooms is small but well kept! Staff was courteous and friendly! Have a hidden breakfast bar area near the fitness center which is nice! Quick walk to the trains and sites! read more

I stayed at this hotel while visiting the city for my birthday. It was a great area and the price was ideal as well. Staff was courteous at all times and lobby area was great. They have a great business center and a nice gym. They offer free bottles of water which was cool. Only reason this didn't get a 5 is because the rooms could use some paint in a few areas. Would recommend! read more

Stayed here for 2 days during my visit this past week to Chicago. Location wise, it's pretty central to all shopping and restaurants and buses, which is good. The room itself isn't spacious, but enough to stay comfortably. Bathroom was smaller than I had expected, but then again, for a city hotel, I guess you can't expect much. Service was on par and they give you free bottles of water you can refill on your own on room floors. read more

Room's really small, especially the bathroom. I won't recommend families to stay. Clean and well kept. Great location. Free wifi is definitely a plus. Nice staff. The walls between ten rooms could be too thin. read more

I had no problems during my stay at the Central Loop Hotel. Although the rooms are small, it offered everything I needed. Free Wifi, TV, clean bed and bath, etc. However, what blew me away was how friendly and attentive the staff were! They made my stay in Chicago perfect. read more

I would've rate one more star if the front desk connect well with valet. The day i think this is a pretty decent hotel w warm service. However when i leave in the morning and rush to work. Since the front desk asked me to wait in the seating area for 15 min while she asked the valet to get my car. However i waited Almost 30 min no one showed up an i see all waiting ppl were called and got their service. I walked out and saw my car outside!!! No one informed me damn i could probly late to work!!! Yeah if they really do good on service they should either let me kno when my car's ready or tell me to waiting outside! read more

Quite possibly the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. So bad that we checked out after checking in and went to a different hotel. Not so good things: -As a single female traveller, I felt unsafe. Most of the men in our group had concerns as well. There is a jail a block or two away. -Walls so thin that I had a clear conversation, in a normal speaking voice, with my friend who was next door. -Lobby and rooms are well worn and not exactly inviting. Good-ish: -The staff seemed nice. -There's a pub next door with Goose Island on tap. -Centrally located downtown. There are plenty of other better places to stay in Chicago for about the same cost. read more

$220 including tax is a steal in Chicago.

Whenever I stay in Chicago, this is my go to place. Located in the Financial District, we were very close to a few main attractions. Anything that wasn't, was easily accessible by many bus or L options. The customer service here is absolutely incredible. We are never disappointed and as was the case this time around. Our guest services rep Jonah was incredible, definitely the sweetest and most attentive person at Central Loop/Club Quarters. read more

We weren't expecting too much when we booked this hotel at a low rate but we were definitely impressed. First off, great location! We were able to walk to most of our destinations and use Lyft if we got too lazy. The staff was very friendly and the service was amazing! They did everything they could to make our stay comfortable from allowing us to check in early at 10am, getting us better pillows and blankets, a fan since the AC in our room wasn't as cold as we like, a microwave so we can heat up any tasty deep dish pizza leftovers, and so much more. The hotel has a happy hour on weekdays with free wine, cheese, crackers, sodas, coffee, and other snacks, some of which are available at all times of the weekdays. Yeah, the bathroom was a bit small and the AC didn't work that well but the hotel staff made up for it all with their exceptional customer service! Thanks again! read more

This is probably the worst hotel experience I've had. I stayed here for first trip ever to Chicago and clearly will never stay there again. The hotel is clean and simply and judging by the guests, a big stop for business people. Its walking distance to the Art museum and Millennium Park so that's convenient. It's clean enough with no frills. The rooms are small and the design of the place is kinda strange. Some rooms are cramped into corners with three rooms in a corner. A fair warning: the walls are paper thin. I say this because you can hear everything going on in the next room. This includes my loud and drunk ass neighbors going at it all night. By everything I mean: bed squeaking, bed banging up against the wall to oh yes... Moaning! Maybe it was my bad luck but don't expect any privacy here. Let's just put it this way: didn't get much rest here. read more

Location, location, location. We wanted to be within walking distance of major attractions and that's what we got. The rooms are small but perfect for two people. I'm a smells and noise person and both passed the test. We were on the 6th floor and there was very little noise and the room smelled very clean. I really appreciated the fill your own water bottles and purified water located on our floor. Grabbing a free bottle of water as we headed out to explore the city was a bonus. Parking at a fair daily rate was available, albeit about 3 blocks away. We also loved that a good cup of coffee was right next door! We will definitely stay here again. read more

Small rooms, but more than adequate for single or double occupancy. Very clean and tidy. Secure access (elevators are activated by room key cards) and 24 hour front desk service. The automated check-in is quick and easy. The location is hard to beat - three blocks from the Willis Tower and not much further to Michigan Avenue. Pricing is very reasonable. Only downside was no refrigerator in the room, but that's workable. I would absolutely stay here again. read more

Maybe it's just this time but the place is not very accommodating.parking is 4 blocks away not a problem but you ask about an umbrella and they want 7$ for it.not conducive when flying.people smoking in the rooms. I an on business and just want to relax big it's been miserable read more

I got a superior room with kitchenette for a 2 day stay. 3 guys in the room is tight. The pull out sofa bed is a single sleeper and comfortable enough. Clean rooms clean lobby, great location in the loop. Will stay here again if in Chicago without the kids. The rooms are just too small for a family. read more

I have been thoroughly impressed with the service that I have received here this far. The people behind the desk are great and when I upgraded rooms they kindly brought my luggage up for me. Granted the rooms aren't huge but they have what you need and do their best to make things easy for you... Free water, iPads for loaning, free wifi! Only downside is the walls are a little thin if you have rowdy neighbors. read more

Terrible customer service - rep yelled at me when I was asking for help. Save yourself the stress and stay somewhere else. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

We visited Chicago to attend a rugby game and were just in the room to sleep. It was quiet, modern and in a great location. The staff at the front desk was very helpful and allowed us to store our bags after checkout for a few hours. The bed was comfortable and I would definitely stay here again. The only thing I didn't like was the frosted glass in the bathroom door. Luckily it was just me and my husband in the room but it made the bathroom feel a little less private. read more

I LOVE Club Quarters! When I travel (for business, in particular) I don't need unnecessary frills. So at this hotel I get a spacious, comfortable bed, an adequately sized bathroom, free Wi-Fi, and other basic necessities (TV, desk, closet). I don't pay for unused square footage or ridiculous amenities that I have no intention of using. (Very European!) I also love the fact that Starbuck's is next door and a vegan restaurant (Native Foods) is right around the corner. I'm within easy walking distance of key Central Loop locations (Art Institute, e.g.), and the price is unmatched, at least based on anything I've found in Chicago. I recently had my second stay at the hotel in a year's time, and I never plan to stay anywhere else. It's clean, check-in is easy (staff are ready to help with the self check-in), and the room is secure. If you're looking for luxury, then don't stay here. But if you want a clean room to sleep in, then this is a perfect choice. read more

Management was unwilling to reverse a no-show charge of $289 that occurred because of an honest mistake due to how my company requires me to reserve rooms for them to submit pre-payment via check. The first two people I spoke to were helpful and understanding. Manager that the issue was escalated to was not, took a "no exceptions" route. Because of that I'll take my business elsewhere from now on... "no exceptions". read more

Great location at a nice price. The room was clean and comfortable. We didn't mind that it was a small room. It's a comfortable size for two people for a few days. Staff was friendly. Best part about the location: there is a Starbucks right on the corner. I love being in close proximity to Starbucks! read more

The staff was very friendly and attentive. I really appreciated that, upon check-in, the clerk automatically checked out the status of other, better rooms. We were able to upgrade at no cost due to specific circumstances. The only reason I haven't given a full five stars is due to two minor observations. One, the lobby and rooms are freezing. Of course you can adjust the room temperature, but waiting in the lobby is not pleasant. Another very minor issue is how long we waited for them to grab our bags. Of course, the fact they kept our bags in storage while we went out site-seeing after we checked out is great in and of itself, so not a major complaint! I recommend this hotel if you're looking for a short stay at a reasonably priced, classy hotel. read more

I was lucky to snag this on Priceline during a very pricey weekend in Chicago secondary to the cubs playoff games. I snagged the room for $150/night with taxes. I was very pleased with my stay! The front desk staff was helpful. The room was clean. The cleaning service was attentive to my needs (extra pillows, towels etc). I enjoyed that they had water bottles as well as filling stations on every floor. The location could not be better! You can walk or be anywhere you want to be within 10 min via Lyft. Thank you for a wonderful stay!!! read more

We booked this hotel through Orbitz for only $63 dollars a night. It provided us with everything that we needed. When you are in Chicago who really stays in their hotel room unless they are sleeping? This hotel is geared towards the traveling on business. The room was furnished with WiFi and internet accesses. There was a desk and multiple ways of having a lap desk for a laptop. Also a cordless phone was provided for the room. There was only a shower, no bathtub, the shower is nice. I don't even have time to lay in a bathtub at home. My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary weekend trip. It was modernly decorated and furnished. The employees were open and easy to talk to. The hotel is in a good location. It was not a romantic hotel room, but being a mom of a little son and twin daughters, romance is not what we were looking for. We were truly happy with our decision on staying here and will do again in the future. Coffee is provided in the rooms and in the hallways there are bottles for filling with the filtered purified water they provide. Public transportation is very easy to get to. The one bad thing is that where it is located a lot of shops and restaurants close early, but go a few streets up and over and you have an array of places to choose from! read more

I loved this hotel. Great walking distance to almost everything in Chicago, only thing that is a little bit of a hike is Navy Pier and the Lincoln Park zoo but hey no big deal. The room was a good size, the staff was friendly and upon check out they even kept our bags stored for the day since our train didn't depart till later that evening. Would definitely stay again. Room was a wee bit noise, but that's a big city for you. read more

So the room: the single room is small, but if you're gonna spend minimal time in the hotel, it does the trick. The superior room is a lot roomier and more comfortable, though at best, it still feels like a dorm room, with the long narrow dimensions and small windows. Service is streamlined and fast. Front desk help is extremely friendly. The location is fantastic. Quick access to multiple L stops. Grant Park is only a few blocks away. If you have a car, they valet (for $35/night) and access to 90/94 is pretty easy. This place has been my jumping point for Lollapalooza and it's been so fantastically convenient. Again, no eye-popping amenities but, from a music festival experience, you're not gonna get a hotel as good as this for the price and with such a sweet and convenient location. One minor negative: poor WI-Fi signal. But you can borrow a cable from the front desk, and that works much better. I'd definitely consider staying here again next time I'm back in Chicago, for sure. read more

Giving this hotel one star still feels wrong to me, but then again yelp will not let you go any lower than that, i'm guessing out of sympathy for the business. I was visiting Chicago, with my husband an had booked my hotel through Priceline. I got stuck with club quarters, i didn't think it would be so bad, but i went on ahead and called to reserve a king size bed, after looking at their rooms online. The woman on the phone told me, all they had to offer was two twin size beds, with the zipper in the middle. For the rate i paid i was a little shocked. I had tried adamantly with Priceline on the phone to cancel our reservation there but there was no give. A hotel with their ice machines only on the third floor, irons an ironing boards located in a different room on different floor (NOT in your room?? really), oh yes an they charge you $50 for leaving your room an hour later after checkout. I have stayed at better hotels who were way more courteous than these people. An on top of that when i called to inquire about the random $50 charge that was on my card i got a nasty attitude from the representative that answered me. Instead of being nice about it all he told me "Our hotel is only geared for the 'business people' who are single" REALLY??!?!?! lol, didn't know hotels had a "targeted cliental." All in all.. NEVER again, and anyone who reads this.. stay away, your better off staying next door at the JW Marriott Hotel. That's where our friends had stay at the same time, an a much much better hotel staff/atmosphere all together. Only upside to this place, was their wifi was "free" but i feel like i paid for it in the end, with that stupid late check out fee. read more

I recently stayed while in town for a work conference. I will not stay again. The rooms are super small, no extra pillows in the closet, no laundry bag for dirty clothes, no iron/board and the front desk staff were unresponsive to my three inquiries regarding a non-functioning toilet until the afternoon of my second day! The television froze up consistently and towels were not left after housekeeping came in. The only upside was Starbucks was right around the corner. Location is prime but there were too many issues for me to want to come back. read more

Good location, nice rooms but very rude and unhelpful front desk. Just asking for the simplest favor from them did not come without an attitude. It's a shame one person can ruin a good stay here. Still waiting for my Keurig refill. read more

Made my reservation because of the location near the Courthouse. Easy Check-in and very clean room. The rooms for the Central Loop part of the Club are frightfully small, but do the job. Comfortable bed, great shower, quiet room. This has everything you need for the city stay. Right off the Loop. Train in from O'Hare, then Train out to Midway... Less than $5 spent on transit TOTAL - that is crazy. Will definately make this a standard stop for trips to Chicago. read more

Staying there this Friday after staying there 2 years ago and had an awful experience. In hotels defense last time major construction all nite was not their fault but they could have given a fair warning. On to the next stay. Was checking rates and the room I got is now over $60 cheaper I booked through the hotel and called them pointing this out but they told me since I made reservations online I could not get out of the rate I was at. Okay. That's fine. But I want everyone to know not to book online for this hotel. Hope they enjoy my stay I am going to make it as accommodating as they were to me read more

It is telling when you walk in a hotel and the first person you meet in the hallway to your room tells you "to be prepared! The place is a dump". Dump is not exactly how I would describe it but it is very run down and not your typical business friendly hotel. No iron or ironing board in the room, the "guest supply closet" where the irons are kept, was at the other end of a very long hallway and of course you need to fetch your own. The only "supplies" in that closet were the iron and a shower cap from another hotel. The top of the desk was coming apart, the washroom only had barely enough room for a toothbrush on the counter and the towels had holes in them. Even the filtered water at the other end of the hall had bottles that were kind of suspicious. Finally, when I asked for a receipt, the answer was sorry- your confirmation email is your receipt. Maybe not a dump but very much on course to becoming one. I certainly won't be staying here again. read more

We were staying overnight in Chicago for a kid-free show. This is not somewhere we would stay with our kids because the room is small-which we expected. The room and bathroom were both very clean (we were definitely worried after reading reviews), the mattress and box spring appeared to be brand new (we always check for bedbugs), and the temperature was comfortable (it was snowing outside). The hotel staff was nice and everyone was helpful. I liked the security of needing the room key to enter the elevator. The other guests were polite and respectful. We had no problem sleeping because the floor we were on was quiet. We were worried about that because the doors are pretty close together, but we never encountered anyone in the room next to us. The valet was super nice, and he provided a highlighted map to the parking garage (2 blocks away) that we could park in for cheaper than valet because we did not plan to use our car. Check in/check out was easy and fast. The room was inexpensive for the area, and it was close to everything we needed. The are is well-lit, and we felt very safe walking around. We would definitely stay again. read more

What a fantastic hotel! And the customer service, especially from Danny, was top notch. My entire family went to Chicago for a family vacation. We wanted a central location, close to all modes of transportation and close to the main attractions. We settled on the Central Loop Hotel because of its location, price and amenities. We needed 4 hotel rooms and we wanted them on the same floor, close to one another. We were all arriving different days/times and had anywhere from 1-4 ppl per room. We realized that the one size room that we booked wouldn't accommodate us, but Danny stepped over backwards for us, found a room that worked for us an didn't charge us anything for the upgrade!!!! In addition to the great rooms, the hotel offered FREE filtered bottle water 24/7, FREE breakfast snacks Mon-Thurs am, FREE wine (served by Danny himself) , cheese, crackers and other snacks Mon-Thurs 5 pm- 6 pm, FREE coffee service 24/7. What great perks!! My family definitely enjoyed our stay and we would definitely recommend this hotel. read more

Price for the area is very fair. Building itself is old but well maintained. The location is perfect for Chicago central to many restaurants and shops. The few downsides are the noice. The walls are very thin. You can't hear everything and you can assume you are being heard. The are very stingy with bath towels, even when you ask 3 times for more. But I'm being nit picky.... would stay again without a doubt. read more
