Took my IPhone 6 to the apple store on Halstead and North in Chicago ...the phone is 4 months old . The screen went out but the phone was responding to ITunes on my computer . The rep told me that the phone was bent { google BENDGATE } , the screen was moving , so it was considered abuse which made my warranty invalid . She said that I can get another IPhone for $300 .... My Galaxy S3 touch-screen wasn't responding to touch at all. So like many, I went to Craigslist and found this business in an ad posted. I called them and they said the digitizer needed to be replaced. The part would cost $120 and $30 for labor. I said ok. So I brought the S3 and it was fixed promptly (about 30mins). So, I left happy and phone was working great until I noticed the back button/return button (which worked fine before the touch-screen went out) was not responding to touch. I called the man back and he said bring it back in tomorrow. I brought it back and they replaced the phone with another new touch-screen at no extra cost. The only reason I'm giving 3 stars is that it should of been fixed right the first time and also because I live nowhere near the business. In all, I do appreciate them correcting in what they maybe mistakenly did wrong and also not trying to nickel and dime me to buy more parts for the phone. Excellent customer service. I have a hard to fix phone where most places told me a week but they were able to fix it in one day. A Sony Xperia Z3. My carrier wanted to charge me a lot more and didn't even have my phone in stock. My carrier tried to change me to an inferior phone the Samsung S5. They wanted to give me a lesser phone. I called here they had the parts and even gave me extra protection on the glass i shattered on my phone for a reasonable price. i will be taking my tablets and any other touch screens here for repairs. As a father of 3 teen boys, a day without something breaking isn't quite as rare as I would like. I've brought in quite a few phones with broken screens and they have gotten so good and quick at doing it, they repair while you wait, an it isn't a long wait at all. This last time, it was for an iphone 5s. unfortunately the next day, the phone froze up and then would reboot to a red screen, freeze, reboot over and over. This was an awesome experience. My wife's phone screen went completely black and it would have cost us $150 to get a new phone via the insurance. However, we would have lost all of her photo's, video's images that were not backed up on the cloud. Took the phone to verizon and their only option was that I buy a completely new phone first and from there they could see if they could save the photo's. Brought it into Cell N Comp where they simply replaced the screen which allowed us to keep all photo's that were originally stored. charged us the same as it would have cost to get the phone replaced by our insurance company and def cheaper than buying an entirely new phone. I never thought of myself as clumsy until I realized not everyone drops their cell phone 3 - 4 times a week. Up until last month I was actually just lucky that my phone hadn't broke sooner, but the last time I dropped it the whole screen went black. I could hear the sound of messages coming in... but no screen to see them. My calendar had stopped syncing with my computer at home a few months earlier and I hadn't backed it up... along with all of my contacts. So in essence I was lost without my phone. One of my friends recommended I bring it in to Cell N Comp Repairs. He couldn't remember the name of the store but told me where it was located, on Western Ave. just a block or so south of Devon. I found parking right away on Western Ave. The front of the store was small and had glass cases filled with phones and accessories and the walls were covered with phone cases in every style and size imaginable. A moment later Mohammad came out from the back and greeted me. I told him my story of woe, assuming he would say there was nothing that could be done for my phone. Instead he calmly told me he could either fix my phone or just retrieve the data from it. He gave me a quote, about $68 for data retrieval or $135 to fix it. I liked my phone and didn't want to buy a new one so I asked him to please fix it. He said the phone would be done later in the afternoon and to call around 3. I left the store so relieved that my phone could be fixed... that I realized I just handed my phone over and left the store, never asking for any paperwork/proof that I was even there. I guess I just inherently trusted Mohammad, because he was so kind, calm, reassuring and confident he could fix it. And he did! It ended up taking longer that he thought and after several calls that day I decided to pick it up the next morning. But I happily have my working phone! I have since bought a sturdier case too and I have only dropped it twice! read more

If only zero star reviews were an option. Do not bring your laptop here unless you are willing to pick it up more broken than when you bring it in. I brought my laptop in for a simple screen replacement. After 2 weeks of this business having my laptop NOTHING was fixed. I was out of town in an area that did not have good cell phone reception and apparently it is this business' policy to not leave voice mail, so if you don't have service you will never know that they called. Well since nothing had been fixed for 2 weeks I decided to pick up my laptop and replace the screen myself, which I did in about 30 minutes, however upon getting my laptop home I discovered that this business broke pieces off of my center control cover, pieces that hold the screen properly in place, and now my laptop screen will not attach correctly to the base. This may be something that cannot be fixed. On top of all this, when I went to pick my laptop up the man behind the counter tried to give me laptop chargers that were NOT mine (I'm sure they belong to other customers). After about 20 minutes he finally found my charger. This place also has terrible customer service. While I was waiting to pickup my laptop I witnessed the same man behind the counter yell at a customer and tell her to "shut up and pay him the money", because she was confused about all of the charges on her bill. Stay away from this place, they did way more damage to my laptop than they did to fix it. read more

Fixed my broken S3 fast, great job!

My Charger Pin on my laptop broke. So I decided to go to Comp N Cell repairs. The Tech offered to do it for $50 because I had the parts (everyone else was $80 or more.) Before he gave me a price, he asked me if it was connected to the motherboard, I said I believe it is but I'm not 100% sure. Wen I finally brought the computer in, he said this is $75 because it's connected to the motherboard. He said he would do it for $50 still I said great and I left. I dropped the computer of as soon as they opened because he told me wen I do bring the computer in, if I come in the morning I can pick it up that evening. I went back that evening he said your computer won't be ready until tomorrow. I say ok, no problem but why didn't you call me? I decided to pay that day so I could have the receipt in hand, and so he couldn't say you still owe me $25. So the next day I called he said I didn't fix your computer because I found cockroach eggs in it. I, of course, was stunned.My University had some, but not too many and I don't have any in my home. (This store, by the way, is in a neighborhood called Little India it's right on Devon and Western in Chicago so think about that. There's also a bad smell in there go in the store and you'll see what I mean). Anyway, wait why didn't you call me? Are you going to fix the computer? He says oh yeah, I'll still do it. As to why he didn't call me: No answer. He says come pick it up tomorrow. I say can you call me when it's done? He says sure. The next day, still no phone call I've finally had it so I go to get my money back. To my surprise it's done but why didn't you call me no answer for that yet again. Finally, I'm excited my computer is fixed and I'm happy. When I get it home and set it up, my speakers on my computer are not working ( They worked before I took the computer in there.) So I call him and tell him the problem he says it's not his fault I say they were working before and he says well You're dirty and cheap. He says your home is dirty and this is the dirtiest computer I've ever seen.(To try to be smart he says "dirty dirty dirty") Number one they worked before Number 2 My home is very clean and number 3 You offered to do it for $50 so how does that make me cheap? He told me not to come back to his store believe me I won't!!! Note: I'm going to say this did happen in 2014, but I never posted it on Yelp. This same review on Google was also written by me.
