It was pretty full again with half studier/workers and half friend pairs/ groups. We happened to come on the day they had a collab for jeans recycling with Madewell: donate a pair of jeans and get a free 12-oz drink from the "taplist" (regular menu list) plus a coupon for 15% off a pair of jeans! What a great and generous promo for a cause. Inside vinyl shops look fun. I am sad that the stationery shop is gone, but still looking forward to bringing my fam to check our the vinyl and fun drinks. The drinks: We came here just for the Fall Banoffee Latte because we crave/miss this British flavor. It was pretty good and a good sweetness, but I think toffee topping or a little more toffee flavor would've elevated it. I actually liked the free pour of Strawberry Swing even better! Green tea with strawberry flavor and a floral touch without bitterness. Had a taste of my friend's Princess Daisy green tea with mango/passion fruit, and it had a bit of bitter/tea flavor, but it grew on my friend's palate with every sip. The food: Only tried the cinamon sugar donut, which was tasty, solid regualr yeast donut topped with ?buttercream frosting and 8 or so cinnamon toast crunch pieces. The add-it-yourself maple drizzle dropper was a fun touch, though might've liked it a tad more viscous if possible (turned out looking like it rained maple syrup on the donut, heh). Plenty of parking on Orange St public parking lot or along that street. Now they charge at the lot, about $1.45 per hour (oh well, better than LA parking). Looking forward to returning! It's quiet, cozy, artistic in a minimal way, staff are very friendly with plenty of seating with large windows getting all that morning sun in. Loved it. Got a fantastic flat white, which was super hot without even asking. Coffee taste was superb. Also ordered a PBJ on toasted brioche which was just perfect in its simplicity. If I'm ever nearby will definitely come back and recommend you add this place to your local coffee shops. Would love to come back here on a rainy evening and read a book.

The cafe is standard and the roast is a little dark (if that's how you like it). Also, what I thought was intriguing (and I ended up liking) was the "build your own toast" portion of the menu. There are "Built" options of things like the T.O.M. (Tomato, olive oil, and mozzarella - which is great with avocado ) and then you can literally have a build your own toast (you choose the bread, toppings, construct, etc.) Really cool establishment and I recommend you visit for a good coffee and toast!

The service really needs improvement they don't even acknowledge customers waiting and the vibe was def lacking basic friendly customer experience for how expensive the food is I would expect a lot more. Learn from reborn coffee; it's comparable in price and coffee in my opinion, they take their time and train well and I have never had any issues. Instead, we accidentally wandered into what felt like a Janis Joplin tribute concert. The music was blasting at nightclub volume--not exactly the relaxing start to the day we had in mind. But surprisingly... that wasn't even the worst part. The food was incredibly disappointing. I ordered the breakfast burrito, and the potatoes were still raw--hard enough to remind me they were once part of the ground.. My husband ordered the French toast, which looked suspiciously like it took a quick detour from Trader Joe's frozen aisle before landing on our table. There's nothing wrong with frozen French toast... unless you're charging $14 and calling it brunch. Another friend ordered the granola with berries. After a few bites, he gave it a skeptical look, pushed the bowl away, and decided breakfast simply wasn't worth the gamble. Thankfully I went on a day with a relatively short line, so that's a plus in my book, I know the line can be notoriously long. I also ordered the iced coconut coffee and guava matcha, just as is. All the drinks were good, the coffee was strong and had my head rushing off the first sip. The guava was a great flavor combo with the matcha, and after all the adjustments the matcha two was exactly how I'd like it. The more I drank the matcha two the better it got as well, so my experience improved with time. Cons: For 3 drinks, given we made adjustments to one with an add shot of matcha, came out to roughly 23 before tip. In this day and age its to be expected that coffee/matcha will run your pockets, but its an adjustment I'm still having to make. For the matcha two, although it was good, I would hope that a place known for their matcha would offer something stronger. I may just be picky about my matcha, but having to add a shot to my drink just to get it "grassy" enough is a slight knock. Overall it was still really good, but as a fair critique it could have been a bit better for all of the hype. I am driving from the border of Santa Ana and Costa Mesa, given this is about a 15-20 minute drive, even with the drinks being good I find it hard to make my way back here if I'm not already in the area. There are plenty of good shops for matcha in between my house and here; however, if you are a tustin local it should be on your rotation for sure. Overall: This would get a 4.1 to 4.2 stars if I were able to score it that way. With the landscape of coffee/matcha shops in OC, theres really a spot for everyone. The aloo paratha was really good- not overly seasoned but it had a very authentic flavor and came with traditional indian pickle condiment on the side. The decor is very authentic but not overwhelming and the place had a nice vibe to it. The staff were friendly and helpful when we were deciding what to order.
