Cavalry salon was my first experience of receiving a hair cut in DC! It was one of my top recommended Yelp searches and I thought I'd give it a try. I called to see if I could do a same day appointment and they were so flexible! I was able to schedule one two hours out from when I called. I did arrive early as I did not want to take the metro and instead drove. You have to keep an eye out for parking. Just keep your travel time in consideration when visiting the area. The salon is on the second floor and is quite easy to find. I had Yvonne give me a haircut and she was so quick with the process. My cut was pretty simple and I just wanted several inches shorter with long curtain bangs. I had it styled at the end too! Not to mention, I was given a deep conditioning treatment. I'm not sure how much that costs but for all the services I received it came out to a decent price ($125). PS there's a store mascot here (some doggos) so just keep that into consideration if you have allergies. I'm sure if you have your dog with you this business is pet friendly. read more

This is my go to salon! I always come to see Yvonne and Z they are absolutely amazing. I always have a very specific look I am going for each time and she always delivers perfectly. I usually always ask for bangs with layers. The staff is also so incredibly amazing and everyone is so kind. I 10/10 recommend this as your go to salon in DC. read more

I'd like to respond to Cavalry's salon manager, as I feel that there are things that were said that were not clarified. The damage to my hair was so severe that it is not until 2022 my hair is healthy. My hair was damaged here winter of 2018. The fact that the manager said I refused to allow for proper steps to be completed is untrue. In fact, the only step that I stated to not move forward one was the heat styling. She also never coached me on guidance of bleach, I would never say - continue forward, bleach my hair with no care in the world. In fact, what she did do, was heavily foil my hair. Leave the bleach on beyond the timer (yes, she offered to do a gel manicure whilst doing so) and must have not been paying attention, additionally, when my hair was not lifting quick enough she took a blow dryer (with the directed drying attachment) and placed the dryer directly onto each foil - to which I said, please no!, I have never had that done before, that seems damaging and Yvonne stated it needed to be done to lift my brassiness - if that is proceeding with caution, that is awe striking. Additionally, while in hysterical tears, her husband refused to take my debit card out of my hand. My hand was literally extended, as I cried, saying please just charge it so I can go home. He refused to accept payment. read more

I moved for about a year due to work and I was so glad to come back, she have me an amazing hair cut and added some color to the roots of my hair. She took her time and was not rushed and was able to give me a trim but kept the length. They have migrated to a beautiful new larger place in the same area! I can't say enough amazing things about cavalry (especially Yvonne the salon owner and the nail technician Aliya who I have gone to for years). I truly feel like part of the family at cavalry. About 10 of my friends and I are loyal clients because the salon is always clean and the work is high quality.
