Helen is incredible for deep tissue, especially hip work. She goes deep, she's effective, and she is not afraid to work through tension. This is not a light, spa-style massage. It's therapeutic, intentional, and results-driven. Exactly what I want. Heajin specializes in Thai and lymphatic massage, and she is phenomenal. Thai massage is more like assisted stretching, and she incorporates it beautifully. She also took time to explain lymphatic flow, gave me tips on how to support it at home, and clearly cares about long-term wellbeing, not just the session itself. One thing to note: at Unwind, therapists may get on the table with you, especially for Thai or deep tissue work. That's part of the technique and something to be aware of if you're new to that style, but for me it speaks to how seriously they take proper body mechanics and effectiveness. The space is calm, professional, and welcoming, and the level of skill here is outstanding. If you want thoughtful, strong, therapeutic massage from practitioners who really know the body, I highly recommend Unwind.

My total with tip was just under $200. It was $75 for a 30 min foot massage and $75 for a reflexology foot massage. Well worth it all.

I first visited Qi Spa when a friend treated me here for my birthday. Before that I never noticed this tiny day spa which is located upstairs from the street level on the main street of Georgetown. That day I happened to have a facial with Elena and she is a gem! I've returned many times since then to have facial treatments and massages with this consummate professional. She is really invested in her clients's beauty needs and I couldn't recommend her more. My friends and I went to dc for vacation. After whole day shopping, we were thinking to get a massage to relax ourself so we searched massage on yelp. Qi Spa is the closest one. The front desk lady was very nice and polite. she smiled when we came in and served us hot tea before and after massage. I have to say my masseuse was amazing! She did a great job for my body, my back, shoulder and legs which were extremely tired after shopping. She made me feel relaxed and comfortable so I totally slept over while I'm massaging. Adrian was absolutely phenomenal! Her hands felt like silk and I was so inclined to go to sleep. I got the Parisian facial and it is typically $110 but since it was my first time I received a $10 discount totaling up to $100. The area is extremely clean and so relaxing. They offer many many services and even complementary refreshments such as meant in water while waiting. Extremely professional and inviting I had to fill out a form discussing my allergies, the type of skin that I have, and any other services that I have done on my skin. Got a groupon for a Brazilian here and it was the best decision ever. I'm always a bit weary of trying out a waxing place for the first time but was so happy with Qi Spa. But things started going downhill in the locker room. First, all of the lockers were broken. Every one. So the guide told me to leave my clothes in the locker (and cross my fingers they'd still be there when I got back, I guess) but to bring my purse and all of my valuable with me to the lounge and treatment room. Huh? Also, the locker room is teeny tiny. One bathroom (which is apparently the only women's bathroom for the whole space). Two sinks. One bench. Ten broken lockers. That's it. Then I was told to wait in the lounge for my treatment. The "lounge" is one couch and two chairs in a maybe 10x9 room. Bright lighting, no music, no ambiance, not relaxing. When I came in there was a small group of women already there, so there was no place to sit. Also not good. The masseuse came and got me. The massage was fine. Not great, but fine. And the treatment room was nice. I was with a couple of friends who I think had better massages, so I'd advise to request specific providers who have gotten good reviews. Then I was sent back to the "lounge" -- where there was now a new group of women. But at least there was a seat. And a lukewarm glass of "champagne." The lounge also has water, fruit, crackers, cheese. Very barebones. Very get in and get out. But I decided to take a sauna because why not? Well, I'll tell you why not. The sauna is also a shower. In fact, it's the only shower in the whole place. So you might be taking a steam while a stranger is washing her whoha. Or maybe she's waiting for you to finish your sauna so she can rinse her pits. When checking out, they added an automatic 20% gratuity to the bill. And it's the first time EVER that nobody asked me how I enjoyed my treatment. I guess they don't care for feedback when they've already gotten a tip. But I love feedback, so I'm giving it anyway. And a warning to anyone reading this. Go somewhere else. This can't be the best that D.C. has to offer.

I discovered Saida through one of the daily coupon sites, and when I left a message to schedule my first massage, it was returned promptly. Her office is directly across from the zoo and easy to find, extremely clean, and nicely decorated. And, now, on to the massage: it's fantastic. She has a very gentle touch, but can apply a lot of strength if necessary. This was further demonstrated during my second visit. In the course of unpacking/decorating after a move, I'd had a large picture frame hit me in the head and effectively give me whiplash on one side of my neck. When I woke up in pain the next morning, I called her, and she was able to fit me in for an hour the next day, a Sunday (she also had a half-hour slot the same day, but I decided to wait). She asked me relevant questions and then got to work, spending the entire time on the area in pain. I started to feel some relief immediately, and while the healing process will probably take another couple days, I have no doubt that she sped it up considerably. Oh, and her prices are VERY reasonable. She doesn't accept gratuities, so the price listed ($75 for one hour, for example) really is the price. Just awesome.
