It's really helped me so much. For deep tissue, I recommend Sheena. She's trained in a variety of massage therapy modalities and can pinpoint and completely unlock any muscle tension. I woke up on my birthday, a Thursday morning, and realized I wanted a massage. I looked at massage parlors near me and found Wat Massage. I called around 9:30, asked for availability, and they were able to take me at 12:30. I get there, got dropped off around the corner, called and said I was lost, and the very nice man at the front desk came outside to help me find them. Great customer service! I wish I remembered his name. When I got in, I filled out the form, and was greeted by my masseuse, who I think was named Evelyn. I am sometimes skeptical when smaller masseuses do deep tissue but Evelyn really got to the knots. I was trying to fight sleep the whole massage. When I go back, I will definitely ask for her again! When I got out of the massage, I had water and a coupon to the Cakeroom bakery waiting for me. This was such a nice treat and an amazing way to enter year 29. I have had two pressure point massages with Eric, and I am not exaggerating when I say they were life changing. I have not felt this good in over 20 years - since I was a teenager. I've had knots in my shoulder & neck for over 20 years, and they've been causing consistent headaches for the last 7 years. I've probably gotten over 300 massages in at least 20 countries, and while they might loosen the knots a little bit, nothing seemed to really fix them. I've gotten nerve-block shots from a neurologist, taken pain meds, done acupuncture - I've tried everything. The two massages I've had with Eric have started giving me the relief I've been looking for - I haven't felt this good in SO long. I think after a few more sessions I'll be realigned. I haven't had a headache in over a week, which is the first time I can say that in a LONG time. I came here on Friday as walk-in hoping to be able to get a last minute massage and I am so happy that I did! I was immediately greeted by the receptionist who quickly looked into if they could squeeze me in. He was very friendly and helpful. Lucky for me, they could fit me in and I only had to wait 30 minutes. The receptionist also informed me of their first time customer special, which was a 90-minute massage for $130, which I of course went for. My massage therapist was Evelyn and she was amazing! I have a prior injury in my upper back/neck area that still causes me discomfort. I discussed this with Evelyn, and she examined my upper back/neck before we started and noted I had stiffness. During my massage, she focused on my problem area while ensuring to not use too much pressure on the injured area. She checked in throughout to make sure i was okay. When i say this was one of the best massages I've ever had I am not lying! She melted every knot I had in my back but especially in my injured neck area. When I walked in i was having stiffness and discomfort but i left feeling lighter and my neck no longer feeling tight. She used the perfect balance of medium pressure and firm pressure where needed. Every part of the massage was just what I needed. I am honestly really glad I walked in on a whim. From the front desk receptionist to my massage therapist, they provided great care. I had the best 90 minute massage by Irani this past Sunday! It was like she knew exactly what techniques, pressures, etc. my body needed. She is also so friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Docking one star because I was double charged for the massage--on the card I booked with and the card I swiped at the end of my session, despite telling the man at the desk that I did not want the card I booked with charged (when he asked). I received an alert just as I was leaving that the card I booked with WAS charged, so I walked back in and told him on the spot, and he said he would refund that card. But that didn't happen. So I contacted the salon, and the manager said the man accidentally refunded the card machine, rather than my card (huh?), and that they would have to contact the credit card company. Kind of irritating, and I hope they fix their card/payment system because I'd like to come back for Irani's great work! read more

Was feeling achy and sore and out of alignment and booked a much needed 90 minute massage. They offer a good deal for new clients on 90 minutes, and I needed it. LaTrice was booked up so I worked with Ben. He has the hand and thumb strength of a giant because he was able to apply very firm pressure for the entire 90 minutes. It was very therapeutic, even when some knots were stubborn and took time to unravel. I took an extra day to recover because of how deep the massage was, but it helped immensely with my back, neck, and leg pain. I wish he had spent more time on my feet and carpals but I was very zen leaving the room. The spa itself is cozy and warm, and it's hard to feel stressed just walking in there. The front desk staff was also so kind and accommodating, and we were doing bits together. I'll definitely be back! read more

This spot was recommended by a friend so I chose to make an appointment for my birthday. I had the 90min reservation. The business is in a renovated row house. It's not a lot of bells and whistles so don't expect wine and robes while you wait but nonetheless it was quiet and clean and relaxing. They get straight to work as soon as you arrive. I got a "medium" pressure massage. It felt amazing as someone who works out a lot, it was what I needed. Some may say that pressure hurts some if you aren't used to it. Raz definitely succeeded in putting me to sleep. I think I'll go back on a regular basis. Added touch..they went and got me a red velvet cupcake from a nearby bakery since it was my bday. Wat Massage is excellent. Although I didn't have an appointment I called to ask if Wat Massage could fit my wife and I in for a same day couples massage. The receptionist took my number and promised to call if there were any openings. Less than an hour later I received a call informing me they had availability. My wife and I showed up and we're greet by the front desk who was kind and professional. We were then greeted by our massage therapists Raz and Claudia. Both of these massage therapists are amazing. You can't go wrong. They used medium pressure and it felt amazing. Additionally, the room where we got the massage had high ceilings which made it a true experience along with jazz on the background. Therapists served us professionally and caring. For example, Raz noticed that I had a bruise on my leg so she asked if that hurts and massaged accordingly. Claudia was also very attentive and provided a relaxing experience and really focused in on the areas of concern my wife expressed to Claudia before the massage began. They were world class massage therapists. A huge shout out to Claudia and Raz. We paid $100 per person for an hour massage which is not too bad considering that Adams Morgan is one of the most expensive neighborhoods in DC. I'm not sure if this was a Swedish massage but therapists kind of provided a tailor made session for us, so everything was great! Overall, 5 out of 5 stars for Wat Massage. read more

My husband gifted me a massage on Valentine's Day. The location is great but there is literally NO parking and the street is one way and busy so you have to know where you're going to find it. It's a row house with steep stairs and there's not a bathroom on the main level. I think I had to go to the third floor to use the bathroom. I love intense pressure and told the technician so. He was like - say no more! Lol. He didn't exactly beat me up but I must admit that I was SOOOORE the next day. But the day after that, I felt better than I had in months. My tech knew his way around a pandemic back and it showed! I've had several good massage therapists in DC but he was DEFINITELY in the top 3. The payment process was okay but they took payment in the app and in person and it took some doing to get the refund. Highly recommend that if you have a card on file, you verify that it wasn't charged before paying. It wasn't a ton of money but the follow up was annoying.
