The best way to welcome in my birthday was with a massage by Anna! She made me feel so comfortable, made adjustments to pressure when asked, and was sure to check in throughout the service. Excellent experience! Upon entry you will see the check-in desk. The process was very smooth and the receptionist was lovely! Water and a restroom break was offered before starting the service. I have stopped in here twice and have really enjoyed both of my experiences. I booked the birthday bubbles option the first time and enjoyed the baked and wired cupcake and the prosecco. The second time I came with my husband for a couples massage with Betty and Anna and it was fantastic- they never cease to amaze me with their skills. The aroma therapy we paid extra for was great but a little bit strong so make sure to let them know if you want less. So I found this place while in Dc on vacation/business . My back condition was really bad, ruining my trip - Luca saved the day with a combo massage, concentrating on the back instead of a " felt good" all over massage- even asked me towards the end if I wanted a brief front body massage or to do extra on the back- exactly what I was thinking ! Unbelievable! Best message ever! As someone who has not had the best experience with massages, I finally found a place that met my needs! I scheduled my appointment online and prefilled the questionnaire to save time upon arrival. On the day of the appointment, I checked in and was seated in the second room until my massage therapist, Anna, was ready for me. Anna gave the absolutely best 1 hour deep tissue massage I had ever had! I felt like I had a brand new body at the end of the appointment. Customer service was great! I appreciate the quiet atmosphere and the music that plays during the massage. I also appreciated Anna asking how I was doing during the massage, if more pressure was needed etc. An added benefit to this location is that it's next to Baked and Wired and around the corner from Sprinkles if you'd like to treat yourself post massage. I was referred to Unwind Wellness by a friend who swore by their facials and massages. After trying it out, I was not disappointed! The atmosphere is chill which is exactly what you want in a salon - I came a few minutes late already stressing and immediately relaxed after speaking to the receptionist who was understanding. The massage itself was also really useful in releasing muscle tension, and the masseuse listened to my preferences and targeted areas to sooth my chronic migraines. I highly recommend the add-ons for CBD oil, hot stone, and sweet / bubbly moment, especially the last one! The owner personally handed me a beautifully wrapped package with cupcakes and champagne! I called to schedule rather than scheduling online and spoke to a very friendly person over the phone. The person who checked me in was just as friendly on the day of my massage. The reception area is gorgeous with a huge antique-looking mirror and polished stone desk. They had decorations up for pride month, which I appreciated very much. Once my masseuse, Jayda, came to get me, the experience truly began. She was soft spoken and kind, but could apply a lot of pressure on my muscles, which I especially liked. She was very thorough and even gave me a scalp massage. After completing the massage, she used warm towels to wipe off excess oils, which felt so soothing. This is an updated review. Since my previous review, I returned to the Georgetown location and also visited the Navy Yard location. All of the massage therapists at both locations have been top notch. Some incorporate stretching, which is wonderful and something I have not experienced elsewhere. I also had another facial and it was excellent. Because I booked both services at Georgetown, I was given a robe this time. I still give Georgetown only a 4.5 because you have to sit on a couch in the hallway between appointments. Hopefully that will change after the renovations. Had an amazing deep tissue massage this weekend with Alexandra and my boyfriend had his with Andy! The location felt very safe and comfortable and the staff took Covid precautions very seriously. I only booked a 30 minute massage to test out the deep tissue and I felt that Alexandra used the perfect amount of pressure and really worked the problem areas that I have (neck, shoulder, upper back). I visited Unwind for a birthday massage and had a wonderful experience from start to finish. Located in Georgetown, street parking was a challenge, but that's to be expected. However once I parked and found my way to the door I was greeted at reception by a friendly receptionist while I waited for my massage therapist. Due to COVID the seating area is closed and reception is surrounded by plexiglass. So prepare to stand and wait to get your service, with your mask on of course. Once in the massage room I discussed my desired focal points of my Swedish massage with the therapist, changed clothes, and then the massage began. My therapist used the perfect amount of pressure to work through the knots I have developed since my last massage. Thanks to COVID I hadn't been in a while; which was clear once the massage began. However I had the most amazing 90 minutes getting those kinks worked out and simply relaxing. My therapist was professional, kind, and overall did an excellent job. I was incredibly pleased. When it was time to leave I went back to reception to check out and pay. Luckily there is a Yelp check-in reward for first time visitors which made the experience that much more enjoyable. I love to say money! However that massage was worth every dollar and I can't wait to return. In fact I enjoyed the massage so much that I have already referred two friends and been gifted two $20 off coupons for my next massage! Score! Finally, what made the massage extra special, was the staff brought me a cupcake and a candle to celebrate my birthday. I was so surprised and truly appreciated that extra touch. I've been here a number of times and somehow managed to never leave a review! *gets life together, writes review* Unwind is easily my favorite place for a massage in DC. From the moment you step into the lobby area, there is relaxing music and a peaceful ambience. The staff are always friendly, and the register accepts Apple Pay and Google Pay, which is nice. Down the hallway, which in pre-pandemic times boasted a snack and tea display, are the massage rooms. I don't know why, but I have always liked their rooms, maybe because they are more spacious than others but mostly because the massage table is PERFECT! I have been to too many places that have a hard metal bar that digs into your chin or a table that's thin or one that's cold in the winter. None of that foolishness at Unwind. The head cushion is super padded and comfortable, the table is heated just enough--everything just works. Michelle did an excellent deep tissue massage and was good about asking about pressure. I was 90% asleep when she asked me to flip over, so she had to ask me twice! Falling asleep due to extreme relaxation is always a good sign in my book. In case you're wondering how they're handling the pandemic, I give them 5 stars: -They take your temperature with a no-contact thermometer before you head back -There is a plexiglass partition between you and the person at the front desk -My therapist had on a mask and full face screen. It was totally fine and in no way impeded the massage. -They have a nicely appointed restroom with touchless soap dispenser (the things we think about now because of COVID-19) Now that I've bought a car again, making Unwind easier to get to, I think this will be my main spot! read more

Having enjoyed the Adams Morgan location so much, I knew I had to try the one in Georgetown! The Adams Morgan location was great, but Georgetown is my new favorite. Antonio, the owner, said he spent several months renovating it, and it definitely shows. Every inch of this establishment is designed to invoke that feeling of serenity we all want from a good massage. From the waiting area, to the massage rooms, and even the bathroom. It all just makes you feel so relaxed. The ambiance was just part of what makes this a five star place. The masseuses, Power and Kate, were extremely professional and attentive, and you could really tell they truly knew their stuff. The massage really targeted those problem areas most of us have from working hard, and the way they balanced pressure with delicacy is an art worthy of the utmost acclaim. If you're only in DC for a day, you have to stop by unwind Georgetown. If you've lived here your whole life, you have to stop by unwind Georgetown. If you're somewhere in-between...You get the point. Bottom line, this is a top tier establishment, run by top tier staff, providing top tier service.
