Good, no frills place. Much cheaper than a lot of other massage locations in the area.

I would give this place zero stars if I could. On May 17, I came in for a massage and was assigned a male therapist. During the massage, I repeatedly asked him to use less pressure because he was hurting my neck. Unfortunately, he either didn't understand me or ignored my requests and continued applying even more pressure. I ended up with severe neck pain that lasted for three days. The next day, I called to report what happened. The staff apologized and told me they would provide me with a complimentary massage because of my experience. When I later contacted them to schedule that complimentary session, the situation became even worse. The receptionist was unbelievably rude and unprofessional. Instead of helping me, she repeatedly called me "crazy" and told me that I "needed to see a doctor." I have never experienced such disrespect from a business in the United States. She insisted I had already used the complimentary massage, but when I asked for the appointment details, therapist's name, or any proof that I had redeemed it, she would not provide any information. Instead, she continued insulting me. I have screenshots of the entire conversation, and throughout our exchange I remained respectful while she repeatedly made personal attacks. Later, they texted me saying they would honor another appointment "no matter what," but after being treated this way, there is absolutely no chance I would ever return. Poor massage, poor customer service, and completely unprofessional behavior. I cannot recommend this business to anyone. If this is how they treat customers who raise legitimate concerns, I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere. read more

I am still suffering at the hands of this place. Just wanted to come and say I think about it every day - my life would be completely normal had these people not manhandled me. Hubby surprised me w a massage from here for our 20th Anni. We had a Couples Massage w the Cocunut Oil add on. It was pretty awesome. I requested light pressure as my hubby requested heavy. Great deep tissue massage! I've been looking for a place in DC where they actually do deep tissue right and hit accupressure points and not just press down hard in random places of your muscles. This is the type of massage place that you go if you want to address your problem spots, and relieve long standing tightness. Absolutely the worst massage I have ever received. The entire experience was a disaster. I booked two massages for my girlfriend and myself. We were given a couples room. When we complained that we didn't want a room together we were told there was no other room. We went ahead with the massage. I had a male therapist. He began by hitting my head with a towel and then scratching my head with his fingernails. I asked him to stop. He was very strong and I asked for a Swedish massage. i ended up with several bruises. i couldn't wait for the massage to be over and in hindsight should have just asked him to stop. I know this place have mix reviews and mostly of them are negative, but my experience is my own opinion and insight about this business. The price is pretty competitive for the service they provide. The quality of the massage is also competitive. Although the only cons that i can see the the privacy concern due to their room separation is only divided by curtains. The ambience is simple but feel relaxing. Moreover i like the idea that you can book with them the same day and they will work with you to fit you in their schedule so you can get the relaxing spa in the day you decided to go. I had one of my best massages in DC Georgetown! The place is very cosy and clean and the therapists are very professional and hospitable! Such a nice experience! I came here several times and I really enjoyed the massage here. It also has couple massage and it's easy to book. You could book it online or by phone or you could just simply walk in! I went to this spa a year ago and had a very bad experience due to filth at the spa, dim lights are for customers not to see hair on the pillow or sheets. never mind about the floor. Today I get this in my email informing me that I left this message for the Spa. Obviously someone else did this since I have not been to the spa since, despite owner offering a massage free of charge. Terrible experience!!! I had a 60 minute Swedish massage and it was the most painful massage I've ever had. As someone who gets massages regularly, I was shocked at this one. I was in tears during the massage and in pain for days afterward. I had to spend the rest of the day on a heating pad recovering. Plus the massage therapist had no regard for my privacy. She lifted up the sheet on my body, exposing me. She would walk out of the room to grab supplies (I guess) and would leave the door open. This made me very uncomfortable. On top of that, there was a thin sheet between rooms, so I could hear the person next to me. And there was no relaxing music on. When asked what scent oil, they will upcharge you $10 for anything that isn't plain massage oil. And I couldn't even smell the lavender oil I chose. read more

Came on a holiday weekend and it was one of the few places that had openings and their prices were the most affordable. We went for a 90 minute couples massage. Both masseuses moved fast. 10 minutes in I thought for sure they can't keep this up for 90 minutes. My masseuse also left the room twice to try to attend to people that came in during the massage. Do not come to this place unless you want to feel absolutely manhandled and unheard during your massage. I regularly receive massages and this was my second time coming to Coco Health Spa. The first time I came, I received a decent massage from a lady that I felt was deserving of a second visit. This second and most recent time I went, a man conducted my massage. After this experience, I have bruises lining my entire back and am nursing a heating pad to help deal with the pain. I asked this man more than three times to please apply less pressure and to please be more gentle with me but he completely ignored me. He focused mainly on my buttocks area with full force and would never shy away from trying to cop a feel of my breasts as well when rubbing my back. He would even rub between my thighs right near my vagina which just felt so inappropriate. I wish I would have just left. But instead I remember just laying there frozen with my eyes open just praying that I could just go home. And when I did get home, I actually cried about this experience. The man also left the room mid-massage three times to do God-knows what. Please please please avoid this place at all costs. I've literally downloaded Yelp to warn you all of this. Not only is my back and butt still in so much pain with visible bruises, but I feel so violated which has never happened to me before in my life of many massages. I'm sure there are better and more professional massage therapists at this place and I'm glad and relieved that so many people have had good experiences here, but I wouldn't be able to sleep at night unless I told someone that there is a man here that I consider to be dangerous as well. I have faithfully visited Coco Health Spa for the past two years. I like getting the deep tissue massage, I consistently leave with a sense of relief from the persistent back discomfort and muscle soreness resulting from prolonged standing periods and workouts. Upon entering the employees are very hospitable and excited to see me The room was nice and clean I even checked the sheets and didn't notice any stains. The smell of the place was great. As for the massage I would say it's different than what I had before lol The masseuse was kind and always asking if the pressure was good- honestly a lot of the times I had a hard time understanding her but really that's just the language barrier and that's no one's fault If she's applying too much pressure just say softer if she's applying to little just say harder She will ask you if you want fragrance and will say it's $10 more in the middle of the massage. Something I didn't like was that she would get really close to me to talk to me but I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt and think she does that because she needs to whisper. read more

This place is mediocre; the massage was rushed and rough and was charged extra for oil without being told there was an extra charge. The rooms are outdated and instead of getting a relaxing massage, you'll get a disruptive experienced filled with loud chatter, banging of doors, etc. at least that's what I experience. On top of everything, the masseuse did not speak English so I couldn't communicate nor complain about the extra charge for the oil. Let there be no mistaking that this place is providing illicit services. If that's what you are looking for, ok, but if you aren't you might be in for a violating surprise. I am a massage therapist and I know a boundary violation when we I see one, I had a massage with Peter that was completely inappropriate and resulting in me covering myself up and asking him to move away from where he was working multiple times. What was supposed to be a relaxing massage experience left me feeling assaulted and more stressed than I was before. I am shocked by the positive reviews here as the spa itself is dingy, the quality of the massage was otherwise terrible, and the treatment rooms were separated by a curtain. The massage was one of the worst. I left with bruises. In addition, the sheets were hard as a rock and seeing a computer printed sign "No Sexual Touching" should have been a red flag that this place was not legit. I was also taken back by the fact that the rooms are connected by a curtain, so you can hear and practically see the person getting a service in the next "room." To top it off, you are charged for using a card AND when I left I was treated rudely for "only" tipping 20% for a massage that was terrible. Excellent massage, and unbeatable price in DC. I have arthritis, which means I have a lot of inflammation so massages are particularly helpful for loosening up. My masseuse hit all of my problem areas (I did not have to point them out or ask), even paying extra attention to smaller areas that often hurt, like my thumb. The masseuse checked in often to ask if pressure was ok, and went firmer when I asked (my preference). They also have choices for oils, both with and without scents. Additionally, they suggested "cupping" next time for a particularly troublesome spot on my back when I checked out. I appreciated the suggestion and the expert massage. Had to wait about 10 minutes or so since they were busy (weekend), but well worth a short wait. They offered water and a comfy chair as well, so no complaints here. I was searching for massage spas when I remembered that I still hadn't reviewed this place from several months ago... My husband and I bought deals from Amazon Local and got massages here in the fall. We were both in much need of a good, relaxing massage. I really wanted to love this place, but it was very difficult to. I made appointments, and when we arrived 15 minutes early (which you're usually supposed to do, in order to fill out paperwork), the place was closed. We waited patiently outside. Close to 40 minutes later (now 25 minutes after our appt start time), a much older gentleman arrived and let us in. He called someone, who we can only assume was the other masseuse. We waited another 15 minutes before the other person arrived. There was no explanation about what happened and why they were so late. I was very concerned when they did not take us into a room. Instead we were brought to a space that was separated from the front waiting room by only curtains. The massages began and I thought, 'okay at least this makes up for the wait'. My massage itself was great. My masseur provided the perfect amount of pressure and hit all of my knots and tight spots. Still, the massage continued to get worse. Not only could we hear the cars driving by, other customers entered the spa, and my husband's masseuse left in the middle of his massage to talk with them. I don't think those people realized we were getting massages, and were loudly chatting up a storm. I was waiting for the masseuse to quiet them down, which never happened. I could hear everything they said. They even asked the masseuse to use her land line and had an entire conversation over the phone. When my husband's masseuse returned, a guy came from upstairs, with a dog, and I heard the curtain to our area open. He exchanged some words with my husband's masseuse, while I was frozen in disbelief. My husband and I were nude with sheets covering very little of us! This was incredibly inappropriate. In addition, the little dog was left in the back somewhere and barked nonstop for the rest of our massages. When we were done, my husband's masseuse asked if we wanted to purchase additional massages. Ummm no thank you. We tipped them both generously because the massages were great. Our muscles were much less tense. However, if you get massages as a form of relaxation (which I do), this is not the place for you. We really wanted to like it because they were really nice, but we didn't, not even a little. We left there very dazed and confused. Massage here was just exactly I needed. I can tell that it's was not light massage and I think this place is not for people who like gentle massage. Sometimes it's even feel like it's a bit to hard but at the end I was so relaxed I slept that day like a baby. Just had the best full body massage of my life. It included the back, legs, neck, arms, face and feet. Bonus; I also got some hot stone treatment thrown in. Paid $35 for my Groupon which. Normally a massage is $1 per minute, so I definitely got an awesome deal. The staff was very professional and tended to me even though I was 30 minutes early. Nice spot in Georgetown, take a cab of you can, the location is all the way up Wisconsin, mostly residential. The walk back to the main shopping are is nice. There are restaurants and small shops nearby. I recommend trying out DC Health Spa 100%!my experience was wonderfully pleasant and relaxing. This place is great! read more

We both like strong pressure massages and the therapists were great at asking us if the pressure was good throughout the massage. They adjusted accordingly as we requested more or less pressure.
