The place needs some work. I would have not minded if the massage technique was good. However, I came during hot day and the AC was not working. The masseuse was unable to get it to work. They also used a scratchy towel to cover me even though it was so hot. Needless to say, I was very uncomfortable and did not enjoy my experience. I have been a regular customer of CC Wellness for nearly four years. My normal routine takes there almost weekly. I am not being compensated for this review. I have had a variety of experiences at CC Wellness, almost all ranging from good to great. On one occasion, I received a massage that was too firm for my liking. I simply communicated this to the masseuse, who adjusted the pressure accordingly. I would highly recommend their '4 hand' massage. What makes this massage so special is the fact that two masseuses work on you at the same time. It's a slice of heaven! As mentioned in other reviews, English is not the first language of the masseuses at CC Wellness. However, I have never had any real difficulty communicating with them. Speaking slowly and clearly and pointing to the areas that I would like them to focus on, has always been effective. It is important to note that speaking louder will not help the masseuse understand you better! Only a few times have I noticed that the masseuse had been handling their phone during my massage. But the masseuses always put their phones away when I asked them to. Other than those few occasions, the masseuses always made my massage their priority. There have been several comments about tipping - never in the 4 years has anyone solicited a tip from me. With that said, I believe that tipping is important, and I tend to tip generously. If you are not sure how much to tip, err on the side of generosity. A massage therapist would appreciate a generous tip, especially if they did a great job. CC Wellness is a clean and well-maintained establishment. It is not a high-end spa, but the prices are very reasonable. I'd rather pay for an affordable 2-hour massage in a clean establishment over a well-appointed, high-end spa for $150 - $250. In my opinion, CC Wellness offers one of the best values for the price in the area. The staff is always pleasant, friendly, and professional. Overall, I have had a positive experience at CC Wellness. I went here a couple of years ago and i had a great massage. Albeit, no bells and whistles - this is not a spa. I went back and had the worst massage ever. The woman just used her elbows on me the entire time. It was awful. I asked for firmer pressure and she just dug her elbows in harder instead of actually identifying and addressing any knots. Also I had the hilarious experience others have posted about... the minimum tip was 30% on the machine. I had to laugh. I told her no, I'm sorry, it was not a good massage but I'm happy to leave 15%. First time here today. Had a great massage. Had severe knots in the shoulders, no massage for over 2 years, went in whimpering and came out relieved. The massage itself was good. However I would not recommend this place for the following reasons: - It is definitely no-frills but to the point of being sketchy. The signs saying "Massage Only, No Special Services" in the massage room shows you what kind of establishment this is. - The massage therapist's demeanor was brusque. That's great for a massage but leaves much to be desired when relating to your client. No hello, or how are you? Or please disrobe and lie facedown on the table. - My therapist kept looking at her phone during the massage. I could tell because she would massage me with only one hand occasionally and get distracted and stop massaging altogether at times. - I brought cash to tip my usual 20%. After giving her cash, the massage therapist demanded a 35% tip. 35%!!! ??? I have NEVER been to an establishment that demanded a certain tip amount. Tipping should be at the discretion of the client, commensurate with the services rendered. This makes me wonder if this business is exploiting their workers. Overall, compared to the many other massage places I have been to in the area, this was not the nicest experience. In the future I will be going elsewhere and happy to pay more for a better experience. read more

Few things about CC Wellness Spa: 1) Chinese-run operation 2) English is their second language 3) pay with cash to avoid any credit card surcharge. If you understand Asian culture as applied to business, this should make sense 4) you can go full-nude (under a towel of course). This matters if you are particular about being completely naked when getting a full-body massage I like to get a massage once a month or so for stress relief and to get knots out from my shoulders/back (due to stress). I've been to a few different massage places in the Rockville/Bethesda area but never found one that I went back to a second time. That is until I visited CC's and let me just say this massage spa is LEGIT. The masseuse's technique was flawless and she accommodated the hard pressure that I asked for. Their spa is clean with an ambient feeling through the relaxing music and candles. I've gotten two massages here and am going again soon. I want to go a few more times before I say it's the best massage I've ever gotten but it's already up there on my list. TLDR: Clean Asian massage parlor that provides impeccable massage technique. CC wellness spa was amazingggggg!!! Lyn did my massage and she really took it to a wholeeee other level! I got a deep tissue massage with salt rocks and that was what she recommended after telling her I need a deep massage. I think she did a combination of deep tissue and Thai, because she even stretched me out. And let me tell you that woman is so strong It truly felt like she made all my knots more loose. Obviously one massage isn't gonna get rid of it all, so I will be back. But it definitely made my body feel so much more relaxed. she told me I'd feel like a new person and I so did! I got an hour massage, and wish I would've gotten a 90 minute massage. She did so good. She was so sweet and I felt 100% comfortable with her. She made sure the pressure was good. My wife got a massage from Lucy and she would describe her massage and experience as amazing, she was nice, her performance was good. And let me note my wife just had a major surgery two months ago that still effects her to this day and Lucy was able accommodate her for that, and do as much as she could without hurting her or massaging around the areas that she has issues with. I believe I had high hopes for this place due to the area. I will say I didn't do much researching of the business. The location is great, but the actual "spa" need major upgrades. The place feels creepy and definitely is not a spa. I was scared when I walked inside of the location and probably should have turned around. The lady didn't know I had an appointment but still honored my appointment which was good. I couldn't enjoy the massage because I was too busy trying to listen out for any strange noises or movements. Overall the actual massage was nice. The building needs major renovations done to make it look and feel like a spa. Also, the lady MADE me give her more for a tip. Like seriously, who does that? She insisted I give her $20. She basically would not allow me to leave unless I give her more. I ended up giving her $12 and told her she needs to take that. I do not recommend this place. read more

I needed a good strong massage and couldn't get anyone at Massage Envy, so took a chance here and have been back as a new regular. The staff are very nice and know their business. The rooms are small but clean. They don't have a receptionist (at least when I've been there) which can be sad if your therapist has to pause to get the phone or the door. That's why four stars.
