My first time visiting this salon was for microbading with Doan. I was really nervous but she made me super comfortable having me draw on my shape, talking through it, cleaning my brow, shaping them and re-drawing the shape before she started. The process was long and I definitely could not fall asleep (like I can when I get lash extensions) but it was not too painful. I love my brows now and I especially love not having to fill them daily. I'll definitely be going back for a touch up this fall (when I can stay out of the sun for a couple weeks.) The only thing that would have improved my experience is getting post-microblading instructions in writing. I found myself googling all this information because I couldn't remember it. read more

Unfortunately I scheduled a 12 p.m. appointment, arrived at 12 and was not greeted until 12:16, then again was address at 12:32 for my pedicure and was sat in a chair with water in the bowl. While 2 ladies who came in the salon after me where being servicdled while I'm sitting in cold water waiting for someone to start my pedicure and it's 12:43 p.m. as I'm posting and no one has stated anything to me. I will not specifically state that I'm the only colored one in the salon right now but the inconvenience and uncomfortable feeling I'm having on June 19th is truly unfortunate because this service was already paid for so I can't just leave. I pray this business understands the community in which it serves and learns proper customer service skills. I really don't have the time to wait yet I can't get a refund nor is this in my mind acceptable customer service for any woman. I am a business owner myself so I understand the importance of someone's time when they scheduled an appointment. I really hope this review changes some policies. read more

So bummed. Do not go here. This place was recommended to me by a friend and I'm so disappointed. I chose a nail color and when the tech finished I said I could hardly see it and could I please add another coat. She did but it was so faint it looks like I have clear nail polish on. I expressed my dissatisfaction that it looked nothing like the color I picked out from the book and she just shrugged. I out my nail next to the example and there was a stark difference but again she just shrugged. No offer of suggestion to rectify. I also got a regular pedicure (no polish) and feel like I wasted $82. Avoid Georgetown Beauty Bar. read more

Excellent service. Very polite. I scheduled an appointment same day but a few hours in advance. I was one of 4 people max the entire time and it made me feel comfortable with how spaced out it was. Everyone was wearing masks. Loved the way the nail technician was able to execute my vision from the picture I showed her. Just be prepared to spend at least $70-$100 on your visit. It was way more expensive than I anticipated. read more

Moved my goddaughter into her new apt for college and we decided to pamper ourselves after getting her moved in. Found this little gem. The place itself is very cute, chic and clean. Ladies were friendly. We did make an appointment and it got a big busy by the time we were finished. Overall experience was great for us! read more

I've now been here three times with my mother and cousin and every time we've had an appointment and every time they have been at least 30 mins late to help us. Today, however, the manager got mad at us for being upset that we had been waiting 30 mins past our appointment time and started screaming at us when we asked what was going on. I have honestly never been so appalled at the way I was treated, and it made what should have been a relaxing experience very stressful. Honestly all she had to was apologize and we would have moved on. I will never go back to this place!! read more

I got a pedicure here since I haven't gotten one since before the pandemic. It was pretty disappointing and I didn't feel like there was a lot of care taken with my feet. It was probably the fastest pedicure Ive ever gotten and lasted about 10-15 minutes max which is not great for a nail salon. It felt very rushed and I even realized later after I got home that I still had a ton of dry skin left on the top of my toes that was disguised with copious amounts of lotion even after they "scrubbed" the bottom of my feet. Another thing I realized is that they charge extra for basic components of pedicures that are included in the price in lots of other pedicures Ive gotten in the past. For instance, they charge $5 extra to use the metal grater on the bottom of your feet which I think is strange. Overall the total cost was $40 which I think is overpriced for a 15 minute pedicure. The color I picked was beautiful and looked great on my toes, but overall the process seemed very rushed and was disappointing. read more

My manicure lasted 4 days- usually it lasts 10-14 days. While I was getting my nails done, another customer walked into the shop to say her pedicure (that she had at the salon) was already peeling off... on day two!! Never going to waste my money here again. read more

Had a fantastic experience. Lovely clean and chic setting for a nail salon with many technicians available. Great range of colours and formulations,and reasonable prices for Georgetown ($25 for gel colour change/$5 remove gel/$40 regular pedicure). They were able to fit me in and also get the mani/pedi done in my short timeframe. Chloe did a great and precise job on my mani and Anna was a dream with my pedi,even re-doing a nail when it smudged after I left the salon. I will definitely be back and recommend all my friends! Got my nails done finally after moving from CA. Finding a nail salon can be difficult, so maybe the next time I go it'll be better? Not sure. Hard to say I will return. I got a dip manicure and pedicure. Pedicure turned out alright, although she hurt my big toe multiple times. The massage was subpar; I wouldn't call it a massage, more a lathering of lotion onto my legs. The dip was an astonishing $65 for reasons including the taking off and on of my existing polish. I loved the color I ended up picking, however, the execution was abysmal. The dip was unevenly applied and finished with a bumpy/clumpy gloss of sorts. Best part of the whole experience was probably the massage chair. For $135, I received a subpar manicure and pedicure experience. read more

I've been wearing eyelash extensions for several years now and I have never had more natural and thick eyelashes than I get at Georgetown Nails. Dawn is so amazing. She's so accommodating and committed to giving you exactly what you want. She's also done my microblading for my eyebrows and I couldn't be happier with them. They look so naturally perfect everyday. People here are nice but pedicures are done in a surprisingly unfinished appearing upstairs space. Prices a bit steep but not surprising given the neighborhood. Instruments are placed in Barbicide-type solution but emery boards are reused from one customer to the next. Overall cleanliness B-minus. read more

A co-worker recommended Georgetown Nails, and I am thankful I took her advice! While the nail salon is small, the staff is friendly and does a great job! I stopped in for a gel manicure on a Tuesday evening...I did make an appointment, but ended up showing up 15 mins early and it wasn't an issue. The woman who did my nails did a phenomenal job. Before putting on the top coat, she noticed an area that was missed and corrected it right away. I LOVE when someone is that thorough and particular. They do cost a smidgen more than some other salons, but I find the slight difference worth it given I can tip on my card, and they do such a great job! Slight cons * Parking in the area can be tricky, but when I went it was easy to find street parking. * Prices are a tad higher than other salons Amazing things * They will let you put the tip on your card. While I assume they prefer cash, it's nice to know I have the option. * You can get a mani and pedi at the same time if you are in a rush. * They also do eyebrows, waxing, etc and while I haven't yet used the service, the people I saw looked great! * The staff appears to know their clients and is very friendly. * Clean salon read more

*UPDATED 09/07/16: I came back to get my eyebrows MICROBLADED and could not be happier! Once again, Dawn delivers! She's honestly quite an artist. Upon arriving to my appointment, she made sure any worries I had were well rested. (After all, I was getting something permanently drawn on my face! Yikes!) 08/10/16: Got my eyelash extensions done at Georgetown Nails for the first time today! I've gotten them done elsewhere before but haven't been content. Dawn is absolutely skilled and meticulous with the application of the lashes. She's patient and doesn't rush through the appointment to ensure the best quality. Definitely recommend! Unfortunately, Briana cut four of my fingers pretty deep with the file, even though I warned her multiple times she was about to break skin. The blood got on the nail file but she wiped it quickly and pretended she didn't see it. I had to tell her she cut me on each finger and to please use the electric file instead. It hurt pretty badly. She also shaped the fingernails quickly and they're not uniform -- some have odd harsh edges and some are rounded. The last nail tech I saw was good -- although the experience was not relaxing. They wouldn't let me use the massage on the pedi chair because they wanted to get my nails done at the same time. I will not be going back. Be careful and don't be afraid to speak up! read more

This place is a great find. The prices are super reasonable for the area. The decor inside is very chic. All the technicians were friendly and I got a wonderful pedicure. Bonus: they have a good selection of magazines on hand to keep you entertained. I was a walk-in (went at about 3pm on a Tuesday) and didn't have to wait, but 5 minutes later the salon was packed , so as others have said- appointments are recommended. My pedicure has lasted 2 weeks with no chipping. Wow! I'll be back! read more

Omg. This is an amazing place. The service is wonderful, its absolutely gorgeous- Dawn is the NAIL QUEEN OF DC- and her salon totally reflects that. Call for an appointment- the gel nails are amazing, they did my mani pedi at the same time and had me out of the salon super quickly which I really appreciated. Great location too- you can zip to Ledos across the street and grab a pizza!! read more

These 5 Stars go to Ally and Kim for always giving me not only the best mani/pedi in the area but for ALWAYS going over and beyond for the costumer. It's easy to find nail salons in the DC area, dime a dozen, but it's veryyy hard to find good nail techs. Ally and Kim do an incredibly thorough job, even if that means staying past closing time, and they hit a grand slam every time. I'm constantly getting compliments on my nails so you know if other people recognize a job well done...it's a job well done! If you want amazing nails...trust me, Ally and Kim are the people you want to see. Plus, they're incredible souls! Also, go see Dawn if you want eyelash extensions or microblading! I had a great experience here. I haven't been to a nail salon since the start of COVID but this placed seemed like it would be clean and enforce the proper protocol. I loved the color selections. Everyone was very nice and attentive. The nail tech that did my nails ( I didn't get her name) but she was very patient with me while I picked through the colors. My gel manicure turned out very nice. I would definitely recommend this nail salon! read more

Extremely disappointed and overpriced!! The young girl who did my pedicure would not bother to find a matching color to go with my dip nails. My dip nails normally never chip and look beautiful for weeks. These nails chipped within two days. Such a waste of money! read more

Quick job of filing, barely a massage and no polish. She suggested that since I was not using nail polish she buff the nails for some shine, I agreed. I was there for merely 20 minutes and the cost was $48. When I questioned this, she said a buff was extra. I suggested it was in lieu of polish which is much more time consuming. At the same time a lady came in and simply asked for a file, did not even sit down, just had nail file over her nails and she was charged 10 for 10 seconds. People are starting to object to escalated prices for less service. And I agree I am not going to pay more and receive less, it is not the correct way to conduct business.

They started falling off almost immediately, and there were visible white clumps of glue that a friend pointed out because she thought I had crumbs on my eyes. One week later when I went to another eyelash studio, they couldn't even tell I had any extensions on until they put me under the lights. I would've been better off just curling my own lashes & using mascara because mine are thicker & longer than whatever they used. I've never had such poor quality.

this place is very dependent on the threader(is that what they are called?) i like this location…read morebecause of its proximity and plenty of free parking nearby, some of the threaders(yeah im just gonna keep using that term) are good, but some are exquisitely bad. the one today was in the latter category. i have full, thick brows and they look good even when they are NOT threaded(hey i tried to be humble, but ...it...didnt..work..). on occasion, i will get them threaded for a more refined look. the threader today did not do that. one of my brows got hair removed excessively and looked uneven by comparison and there were no sharp lines. i did point this out to the threader(who willl remain nameless) who insisted everything was good. she also applied lotion to my brows without asking me first, which is made my face all itchy and i washed it off immediately. i usually get an astringent like witch hazel, which P.E. has too but the threader usually will ask me first what I want. gee, gosh damn , is that so hard? anyway, once a threader messes up, i do NOT want them to fix it, bc that usually makes it worse...way worse. so i will have to get creative with my pencil and mascara brush. and honestly, im very irritated. im putting my pic from today and one from another salon where i got my brows done before.picture is worth a thousand brows after all. btw, i PREFER the P.E. in tysons corner mall, i have NEVER had any issues there.

TL;DR (long version in the photos)--I never write reviews of businesses, let alone small businesses…read morebut I am hoping that doing this will save someone else what I went through. I visited Semra's studio twice and she gave me a severe allergic reaction (Google PPD allergic reaction and HD Brows and BrowSculpt) that left me with severe hives on my face and extreme swelling of the eyes/ face for which I had to see three doctors and had to use six separate medications. It took me over a month to fully recover (I visited her salon Sept. 17, and am only now fully recovered as of late Oct.). After I told her about it, the only apology she gave me was "sorry to hear about it :(" I asked her for a refund and she refused, not even refunding me the tip or the cost of the service that caused the allergic reaction. On top of that, when I sent her the pictures, her reaction most generously could be understood as ignorance about a very common allergy that occurs due to the chemicals she uses in the line of work she's been in for ~30 years and at worst as accusing me of lying. She refused to take any accountability even when her actions seriously harmed a customer. I'll let you draw whatever conclusions you believe appropriate from my experience.

I use to get them done every 8 weeks, but now that my lashes are longer I noticed they can last up to 10-12 weeks. I also noticed my lashes got so much longer after I was doing these lifts for a year. Semra is amazing. She's always gentle with my lashes and takes amazing care to make sure they look good. I always leave satisfied with my lashes. My eyes are usually very sensitive as well. When I use to get regular lash lifts, my eyes would get irritated. But with the yumi lash lifts, my eyes aren't irritated. I think the chemicals are more gentle than regular lash lifts. Also I love the natural look of these lashes. They're so curly and long and just naturally pretty. I also got my brows done twice here. I usually don't get my brows done because I don't really care about my brows as much as I do my lashes lol, but Semra made my brows look really nice as well. I was impressed by how different I look with them shaped better. I will think about doing my brows more often here
