I checked in at the Graham Georgetown Hotel and had one nail that needed to be fixed. The receptionist looked up nearby salons and Charming Nails cropped up. I called and told them I could be there in about 10 minutes, and they immediately got me in, fixed my nail, matched my polish perfectly and I had a wonderful conversation with a traveling medical person which I thoroughly enjoyed. Walk-ins welcome I got there around 11:30am without an appointment and didn't have to wait long. They turned the next walk-in away based on upcoming appointments for the rest of the day so I'm going to take that as a sign that I got lucky and I should make an appointment next time. Vibe Charming Nails is actually charming. It's the tiniest nail salon I've been to and it works. Pedicure quality For me, a good pedicure is one that I don't have to pay attention and when I look down, I'm completely satisfied. This was a good pedicure. Customer service During my pedicure I asked my technician Winnie about a dip manicure. I never had one and I wasn't sure if I wanted a manicure at all. When she confirmed they had the matching dip (Lincoln Park After Dark), I didn't hesitate to move forward with the unplanned manicure. I appreciate that Winnie acknowledged it was my first time and she assured me we could do something different if I didn't like it. Manicure quality The dip manicure turned out great. To achieve closer to the same hue as my toes (powder didn't get as dark as regular polish), Winnie added a layer of gel Lincoln Park After Dark (this made it shinier which is my preference). I'm not sure if it's common to do dip with a layer of matching gel on top but if this thing lasts really long, I'll request it next time. Customer service again I sat next to a woman with beautiful long natural nails. I know nails grow back if something undesirable happens to them, but if I had her nails, I'd be super particular about who I let work on them. Whoever worked on her nails approached them with confidence and the dialogue between them was minimal. I'm sure trust has already been established but this interaction showed me that I'm where I want to be when getting my nails done going forward. A lady an I walked in together but we weren't together... she never asked me if I had an appointment..asked me what I wanted ...I said a pedi.. never asked me what kind of pedi..then she proceeded to ask the other lady if she had an appointment an when she said no.. she told her that they didn't have time to service her.. Prices are very reasonable (40 for regular gel pre-tip) and I've never had a single nail chip even at 3+ weeks. Professional: Not only can you book online (making it easier in my opinion to see availability & work an appt around my schedule instead of calling), but they have you check in on an ipad while also being greeting as soon as you walk in. I called to make appointments for myself and 2 other girlfriends which was easy to do. I saw that they also take walk ins. They also answered my questions that i had. When walking to this place it's easy to miss! You just have to look for a door with their name and go up the steps. The stairwell has some funky smell which made me a little worried to have picked this place. We walk in and it's nothing glamorous. It's a very small place with 3 pedicure chairs, and 4 manicure tables. Barely any space for anyone waiting. My friends and I had to wait a little bit because all 3 techs were busy with other patrons (even though we had appointments made!) we had 3 of our guy friends who wanted pedicure done. When we asked if they'd b able to do that for them after us, unfortunately they said they couldn't because they had someone else booked. UM it said you take walk ins.. n it was guys, can't take that long to do a pedicure on them, can it? Oh well. So they sat and waited for us. Two of us girls got pedicures and one got gel mani while the other two got SNS powder manis. We felt like they rushed a bit but they were nice. One of the male techs was very friendly and talkative while the other two women were just quiet. Even tho we felt like they were rushing, I am happy with the gel mani/pedi that I got. I'm in love with the color tho! (I think it was #100 on their palette and the glitter was #42 (?). ) If you pay by cash they take off a couple of bucks! I think I ended up paying $58 for it when it would've been $62. They take card if you forgot to bring cash. They also offer you drinks! Like water, sodas, and champagne! So make sure you get yourself a drink! Im unhappy about the whole walk in thing from my friends, but happy with what I got! Now the waiting game to see how long it lasts. The nail techs did a great job with my nails and I was very pleased with the results. However, I got SNS/Dip on my real nails and one chipped 3 days later and then the rest of the nails started falling off/chipping 1.5 weeks later. Because of this, I will probably not be coming back. *Update* The owner did reach out to me and told me to schedule with Helen or Sophia. Best nail salon in the District, hands down. They're tucked away in a second floor space so you really feel like you're in on the best kept secret in Georgetown: *affordable* nail services! I've always had sad, stubby, weak nails, but since I've been a client here my natural nails have grown long and strong. I almost can't believe it. The key is their SNS dip powder - it's a zero-fume (no nasty chemical smell), super strong powder layer they can put directly on your nail or over plastic tips if you want to "fake it" until yours grow longer, like I did. The SNS powder layers are thinner than acrylic so your nails feel much more natural, but are just as strong as the acrylic alternative. They also have a ton of color options to choose from, which is great if you're indecisive like me. I simply refuse to go anywhere else now. I live on the other side of town and will wait until a weekday to see them (they're near my office) if I break a nail on the weekend. The nail technicians are super friendly and accommodating, and will get to know you by name sooner than you'd expect. They even serve complimentary refreshments (helloooooo lunch break champagne!) and have a loyalty program. What more could you ask for? read more

I went here last year for a birthday manicure, and I decided to come back because fro my graduation nails this year because they did such a great job. Leadership has changed but I actually love and adore Helen, who I have deemed my new nail tech. I decided to start getting my nails done again because although they grow fast and long, once one chips, I clip them all down to the same size. It got annoying, so I went in and got the dip powder. I never get add-ons, and I stopped getting gel on my hands years ago, but the dip powder is bringing my nails back to health. Helen is great! Very meticulous with her work, and very accommodating.
