To be fair, here's what they did well: I told my technician that I'm sensitive to having my gel manicure filed off, so he did take care to go slower there. It was much appreciated! However, that's where the positive experience ended. My technician accidentally cut my cuticle to the point of bleeding and didn't say anything, and the hand massage was downright painful. It felt very much like a rushed job, even though the salon was nearly empty. I think when it comes to sensitive areas such as your hands, extra care really matters. read more

This is for the mani pedi and full arms waxing. The mani pedi was fine, but I think some of the other places nearby do a better job. Was not happy with the waxing. It took an hour to do full arms, which should at max only take 30 mins. Additionally the lady kept missing patches, and when I pointed them out, she seemed to be annoyed with me, but these were significant areas where the my black hair is clearly visible. This place is fantastic. It is incredibly clean, and all tools used for manicures come from a sterilized package, which is a non-negotiable for me. I go once a month for a gel manicure that leaves the bottom of my nails clear and has the tip or top half of my nails with a one or two color design. That way, my nails can grow out but my manicure can look relatively fresh for a month. The manicure always lasts for an entire month. I always request Karen- her attention to detail is fantastic. (Thanks Karen!) All of the staff have been super professional and accommodating. I haven't experienced long waits here like other places because the QQ staff are pretty honest about wait times and are good with booking and keeping appointment times. Prices are fair, especially given the quality of service. I've seen a really diverse clientele served in the shop requesting everything from a simple clear polish manicure and powder dipped tips with sparkles, and QQ seems to always deliver. I've been here twice so far. The first time the nails were good so I came back the second time. Unfortunately this time the nails turn out horrible. They looked good at first, but quickly they all started chipping. I lost a nail the very next day I got my gel manicure. It has only been almost a week, and my gels are falling off??? This has to be the worst experience ever. When it fell off, I checked it out and it was a thin piece of gel, unlike regular gel nails that are thick and almost hard to peel off at the end of the gel cycle. This is when I realized that the woman who did my nails did not apply the topping coat. She seemed like she rushed through it. Not to mention that they changed send the girl who was working on my nails to another customer, so I had to sit in my seat for 20min waiting for someone to finish my nails. I've come here for around 3 years for my eyebrows. I normally come around noon on Wednesdays or Thursdays. I'm always set up quickly and the person who takes care of me is very thorough. They often check and recheck the outline, comb the brows and trim them with scissors, and clean up my brows well afterwards. I've never been anywhere as good and the price is a steal! read more

I got my nails done exactly a week ago. Needed my nails and toenails done so after research on yelp, I found this nail salon with great reviews and made an appointment. The overall experience was....!It was relaxing at first. My nail tech did a great job with my pedicure. And I THOUGHT she did a great job with my acrylic full set. However, just 3 days after 2 of my nails came off, and 1 more fell off the following day. I was contemplating on going back and telling them to fix it but ultimately it's not a salon I would want to return to to get anything (re)done- even for free. I'm upset cos I spent a total of $98. There was another nail tech that was unprofessional and made the experience awkward. I suggest NOT having your nail technicians discuss the GOV't shutdown by ignorantly suggesting that federal workers who were going without pay were lazy because they weren't trying to find another job. Myself and the other man sitting beside me were federal employees who just gave each other a "come on" look and stayed quiet. She then turns to me and talks about immigration, Latinos as criminals and gang members and how they are all moving to Virginia. It was pretty interesting, given the fact that I was the only Latina in the salon and she wasn't even my nail tech and she turned to me directly to say that. (My nail tech had gotten up to start someone else's nails in another part of the salon as I sat with my nails in UV light). This tech's attitude wasn't surprising as she argued with my nail tech for almost 3 minutes about a client who walked in to get his mani and pedi as my tech was giving me my pedicure. He stood there awkwardly until she finally gave in and grudgingly took him to his seat. read more

Literally the best spot. Always come here whenever I am in DC. You walk up the stairs to this bright, clean nail salon. The staff is super nice and there's tons of no-chip polishes to choose from! I've gotten no-chip manis, regular pedis and my brows done here before. The pedicure chairs are really nice and much better than some other spots in the area. Lynn took care of me last time, and she's fantastic! If you want to try and accent nail or something fun like a chrome color, then she's your girl! Overall, it's a decent salon but my tech's attention to detail was strained due to multiple incoming phone calls and other customers coming in for eyebrow waxing (my tech left me waiting twice between coats to do another lady's eyebrows). At the end, I noticed the color didn't quite reach the tips of my nails. However, I didn't want to make a big deal of it since I chose a neutral color/not so noticeable from afar. Waited over 30 minutes before someone even greeted me, and this was after a woman walked in and was immediately seen without an appt for full manicure gel manicure. Walking out the door now. Ok so i gave this place another shot because I was too lazy to walk a few blocks to another salon. I was pleasantly surprised the second time around. I was greeted and seen within the first 5 minutes and I was happy with my gel mani. Went back three more times but my most recent visit the application wasn't as smooth as the first two times and a bit lumpy on one nail. I didn't have time for any re dos so I just paid for my service and left. My original nail tech wasn't there that day so lesson learned. Stick to who you're happy with. So it's been a few months now and pleased to say that I am now a regular after finding my fave nail tech, Tommy . Tommy is the absolute best and I won't let anyone else touch my nails. Not a good experience at this nail salon. Poor customer service and a rushed work - we were done with a fill in and gel in less than 20 minutes. Not meticulous at all. My nails had a coffin shape and the nail tech did not care to maintain the coffin shape or ask me if I wanted to keep it. We did not speak to each other at all, I wasn't even thanked when I left out the door. Sadly, I had gone to this place on the eve of my birthday for the first time. One thing I found strange and unusual was that the nail tech did not apply a base coat and also did not give each hand ample time under the UV. As a result, some of the gel on my nails started chipping before a week has passed. Good gel applications, especially on acrylic, do not chip. So now I remove my nails and I have the greenies bacteria on 3 of my nails where my nails got filled in! Try to go elsewhere, or beware! read more
