A solid 3.5 stars, meaning, it's okay. I did a walk in appointment on a Monday afternoon. There was one other customer, and 2 staff laying (literally, laying) around. They were prompt-ish in attending to me. I had gel polish removed and did a pedicure with no paint. I had to tell her that she hurt me with the cuticle cutting a few times. Also, my toenails weren't filed straight so I pointed those out to be fixed. In the end, I got what I really needed: a basic, inexpensive, quick pedicure for a busy mom on the run. As other reviewers have said, the experience wasn't luxurious, but it was clean and sufficient for my needs. I wouldn't have minded a little more oomf in the customer service, but hey, I did get a container of lotion as a holiday promotional gift. Given the convenience of the location, I'd come back for when I really need nail care. And who knows: maybe I didn't get the full experience due to the post Thanksgiving slump. read more

Never have I ever had my nails done in less than 1 hour . Queen did it and she did them well . I had a acrylic fill and French design. I showed her a picture and she executed with no problem! Minus one star for the service witnessed. The salon was small and packed with people. While they asked people to wear mask not everyone did and every pedicure charge and nail booth had someone at it . There were three people waiting. It seemed like everyone who walked in they said ok to -- not sure how that would work. I suggest if you're planning to go, call and book an appointment. Pricing is competitive to most nail salon. Not the worst nail shop, not the best one either. I preface the word "shop" because a salon, in my opinion, signals an experience and not just a service. It's tiny, even for DC standards. There are about 4-5 nail desks and 4-5 pedicure chairs and juuuust enough space for a few seats in the window if you're waiting to be seen. They have a decent nail color selection so you wouldn't run out of options in one season. I believe they also offer waxing services in a rear room. If an experience is what you're after, you might want to go elsewhere. I've been about 3 times and believe that due to its size, the goal is to get people in and out. So you won't sit very long once seen but you also won't be pampered like at some other places. However, there are upsides. If you want a decent job, with no frills, with a friendly staff at a reasonable cost, you're in luck. read more

Late Saturday afternoon I decided I should get my nails done. I wanted my old powder to be removed and new powder color replaced with a regular pedicure. I stumbled upon perfect nails one salon and Spa not far from my home so I figured I'd give it a try. I called up I told him I would be there in about 10 minutes and they were able to take me right away. The salon is relatively small. everyone is courteous. They started the soaking process to remove my old powder with cotton and acrylic wrapped in foil. I was sat in the massage chair and my pedicure began. Then I realized I left my flip-flops in my car right outside the shop. I said to the technician before you start painting my toenails I need to go outside and get my shoes. She informed me at the right time she would get the shoes for me. So right after she polished my nails she offered to take my mules into the car and go and get my flip-flops. I really appreciated that.That's good customer service. It took about an hour and a half for the full service to be completed. As I was walking out the door rolling my pant leg down I realized that one of the toes polish had been smudged. My toe alignment is not good and when she removed the separator the one tail must have gotten nicked. She immediately fix the color left some cotton in between the two toes and sent me on my way. I will be back. It was $67. I gave a $10 tip. $77. Far from a bargain but unless I come up with a problem later on with the Polish. it's par for the course Note They're only appears to be metered parking but I could be wrong. Update: 3 days later two nails were significantly chipped and began lifting & peeling where my cuticle was painted over. Now 6 days later, more chips and one nail completely gone. I have NEVER had a gel manicure last less than two weeks. I like my nails very short so they do not often chip or break. Complete waste of money. Terrible experience. read more

I popped in for a walk in regular manicure on a Thursday afternoon and was told to come back at 630. I showed back up at 615, and received the most haphazard manicure I've ever had in my life. The polish was applied so thick that sitting there with a fan on them for 40 mins (until they pretty much asked me to leave because they close at 7) did not dry them. The photo is after my 6 minute drive home. I'm taking all the polish off and I'll never be back, which sucks because it's super convenient and a lot of people seem to like the salon. read more

Because I made an appointment I didn't have to wait at all. Lisa took me right away. She asked me what I wanted done and even made small talk. The whole staff was super friendly and professional. There are no fancy drinks or stones but for professional service and great customer service, this place is perfect! They are also affordable. I got a full set with regular polish for $27 (no one pressured me to get gel, though it was offered). The price was not bad considering my nails were pretty long in length. Called at 12:45 to make an appt for Lisa @1:30. Arrived at 1:30 and she had someone in her chair which was Ok. I looked at my phone and noticed 3 missed calls from the nail salon. Totally bummed. I was looking for a spot last minute in the area since I was leaving later that day for vacation and didn't have time to make it to DuPont. I got gel nails, regular pedicure. 75 dollars. The woman was nice but didn't push my cuticles back, painted over my skin, didn't get any dead skin. My gel nails lasted a little over a week. I wasn't doing any manual labor with my hands, and that dead skin was there when I walked into the salon and there when I left. So it was clearly a small place. Not a problem. I was in and out within an hour which is impressive since I waited for 20 minutes to be taken. The girl that took me was in an absolute rush. When she had to soak off my previous gel she only left the foil for about two minutes then was irritated that the polish wasn't coming off. She spent most of the time ripping off my cuticles and the skin on my nail beds until they hurt every time they went under the gel light. She sort of sandpapered my nails and got very annoyed when I asked if they could be any shorter, since she hadn't asked if I wanted them shorter or in a different shape. The shape didn't matter much anyway since they were uneven and each nail was a different length. But the price wasn't terrible, 33 for a gel manicure. My mom has gone to this shop for over 20 years. She recently broke her ankle and is in a cast. She came in, using a walker, and they didn't even greet her. I walked her in and went to run a couple of errands, thinking she'd be done or in a chair by the time I came back. I came back maybe 45 mins later, and she was in the same seat waiting. She told me they still had not even acknowledged her or given her a wait time. As we started to leave, the tech at the end looked surprised and said "oh I can take her now," but by then we had to leave. I am EXTREMELY disappointed in their lack of decorum, especially for a faithful customer and an older woman using a walker. Neither of us will be back. read more

A week and a half ago I was here. I needed Acrylics and a pedi bad! Staying with my daughter and this was close. Very friendly, clean, and they did a good job. I told Them I would be Back if I needed my nails done while in the area. Almost 2 weeks and they still look great. Today I brought my daughter to get her nails done. Returned after 4 weeks. Still looking good, just growing out. No lifting, chipping, cracking. May have to visit my daughter more often just to get my nails done. ***UPDATED*** Had to downgrade my stars. I was so happy on my first visit. Lisa did an outstanding job. Not so happy last time. Lisa was busy, so someone else did my nails. I could tell before I left it wasn't the same. Within a week they started lifting. By 3 weeks 3 were off. Today only 3 remain. Will give one more chance. But just going to get a gel mani today. read more

I've been to this place twice. Once on a Friday and they squeezed me in and then I called for an appointment on a Friday night to come in on Saturday morning when they opened at 9:30. They were super busy and weren't going to be able to take me and I said no worries. They asked if I could come at 9 which didn't bother me at all so I said sure! Perfect Nails is a great, no frills nail salon in Brookland. I have tried all of the nail salons in the neighborhood on 12th street, and was disappointed by all of them. However, I really didn't feel like bussing over to my usual spot in Adams Morgan which too started to offer up sub par service, so I headed to Perfect Nails for a pedicure. The place opened in fall 2016 and still has that "new" look and feel, so it's very clean and bright. I've luckily always come in during odd hours, so never had to wait for service despite there being only four or five stalls for manis and pedis. And by no frills, I mean no frills! Don't expect any hot stones, warm towels, massages, or even Essie or OPI polishes on the shelves for your pedi. Instead, expect no corner left unpolished and a very thorough (not to mention painless) pedi. While I thought their manis were average quality, it's still worth it to bundle the serve with pedis, which cost $32 for both for the "basic" service. I found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating without leaving you feeling rushed. If you live in Brookland and are looking for a consistent mani/pedi service, come to Perfect Nails. read more

The service itself was ok, just ok. They have a limited selection of polish and they are super unfriendly. The woman who did my pedicure told me it was ok to put my shoes on after a couple of minutes. I did, and went home to smudged toe nails. I came back and they agreed to repaint my nails. They were ruined anyway so I picked another color. She told me I had to pay $8 for a nee color because people mess up there toes on purpose to get a polish change. My toes were SUPER smudged. The girl who did my nails was not surprised to see me back, but the woman who spoke to me chose to accuse me of engaging in some minor scam. So instead of getting my toes repainted, I walked out and will pay another salon to repaint them. I told her I wouldn't come back and that she was getting a bad review. I tried this place after I could not go to my regular nail appointment. I got dip powder manicure and pedicure. Pedicure was good overall but the tech cut the skin on one of my toes. Then she kept buffing my finger whole removing the top layer of my former dip powder. The lady who did my manicure shaped my nails well and applied the dip powder well. But, she cut at least 4 of my fingers. I also didn't like that they didn't have the sns top coat, only gel. When I asked, the technician pulled it out and it was too thick to use. I know some prefer the gel top coat but I don't like the UV lights. The staff was friendly, but ultimately I won't be returning. read more

First trip. Basic pedi is $22, spa is $35. I got the basic--will probably try spa next time. Very affordable and the lady who did my nails was super nice. Was able to walk-in and had to wait maybe 5 minutes. Parking is super convenient, which in other cases has been a challenge in DC, and I don't want to walk far in the cold in my flip-flops! I would say this is a clean, basic facility, great for getting what you need done quick. Not a super spa experience--no extensive color selection or drinks offered or decor or anything, but they did a diligent and nice job with my nails and took their time to do them right. This is my second time coming to this store. The last time I came in was a busy Friday evening when all the chairs were booked. I waited about 5 minutes and was attended to, I got my eye brows waxed and was ok with the job. Today I walk in and there are only about 5 to 6 other clients, not busy but less attendants. The lady who was assigned to do my eyebrows seemed surprised to be told to do my eyebrows, it made me nervous(perhaps she doesn't do it often). I asked her to shape my eyebrows in their natural curve and clean them up. She did a bad job and tried to let me go out with hair sticking out everywhere. I had to show her where it needed more clean up and she did the majority of it with a tweezer. Then she went in and left a bald patch on the other eyebrow. I told her about that and she claimed I have thin eyebrows (I don't and I know what my eyebrows looked like when I walked in). This wasn't a good experience, they need to let experienced people do eyebrows. Paying clients should not be used for experiments. The 2 stars are for the good experience I had last time. read more

When I do go to this salon I normally go the same nail technician that does a good job but on this particular day she wasn't there when I arrived so I ended up going to someone else (as I needed to be somewhere after). She was very nice however when I left the salon and further inspected my nail she did a very poor job. There was gel nail polish all over my cuticles and I knew that if I didn't get it fixed they would lift in a couple days. So I called and informed them I was just there and need my nails to be corrected. The next day I went and the same technician was very apologetic, it was as if she knew she did a poor job (had to redo 7 of my nails) which further made me wonder why she would even left me leave the salon like that! I give them 2 stars because they happily accommodated me and seemed to be sincere in the apology but it was super inconvenient to have to go back if she just took her time the first time. read more
