Shoddy sns--starts too far from cuticle and does not blend into the nail.
    Valeriya S.

When I make a mistake, I like to do it a few times, to really make sure. Yesterday was my 4th or 5th time here. Unfortunately, this place is now a pass for me. I got an sns mani and a spa pedi. Here is a breakdown of what went wrong: - tech performing SNS has poor technique. She did not apply powder in gradated layers so as to create a natural slope towards the nails. So the nails look thick throughout, like expensive thick clip ons. See pics from the day of service. She also didn't get the powder close enough to cuticle so they look as if they'd been growing out for a week even though brand new. Which means they will not last as long before I have to redo them. - Though I got the pedicure done before the sns, they did not bother to take off my existing sns during the pedicure, saving me time, despite my suggestion. This made my entire service 20 min longer than it had to be. - When it was time to take off existing sns, tech put acetone in a bowl with a paper towel. She insisted it was faster than wrapping each finger in foil--it's not; I've done both many many times over 10+ years. So I had to sit there after my pedi for around 20 min with my fingers entirely submerged in acetone rubbing the paper towel to shreds with my nails while she watched tv, as instructed. (After my mani, tech told me my hands are very dry and I need to use hand cream..no shit). - Previously, when I asked for a French manicure, the staff of three starting laughing and talking in another language, after which they told me it was "boring." I gathered they did not know how to do an sns french so requested a solid. Now looking through other reviews, I'm glad! Could have been worse.. - For about 20 min, the owner sat in a pedicure chair and engaged in an apparently personal fairly loud convo, which she then continued while working on a client. There was no music on. - My pedi was overall nice and that lady was sweet. But as you can see from the attached pic, the nails were not shaped at all and polish is uneven. - while at the salon, I watched as several clients were nudged repeatedly to upgrades they expressly did not want (some standing firm which was funny to watch) or redirected from their chosen color selections. Staff should focus on improving their technique and customer experience rather than upselling or judging their clients' aesthetic. So yea...it's a pass from me.

Wonderful place. Hard to find, but it is a small studio within another place called Phenix (second floor, above Safeway garage). Please call in since they are a team of two, it would help with planning the day and having an efficient schedule. I had an appointment at 4 and the gentleman got me out with an acrylic full set ($45) by 5. Plus they take card! Will go back again.

A gem! Space is clean, staff is very professional and detail oriented. I usually get a gel manicure and pedicure but tried a full set with Bruce who did an amazing job! Pricing is great for the area and you can't bear this service. My definite go to!!

This place is a shoebox but the prices are fair. For parking go with the Safeway garage, they're located on the 2nd floor in the Phoenix Salon. The workers are very nice, they offer wine and water so that's a plus. They also accommodate walk ins.

I've been reluctant to do this review because while I want them to have clients, I don't want to share the salon. After searching for a while since my last nail tech changed careers, I finally found my new nail home. I'm persnickety when it comes to nails. I prefer for someone to take their time and exercise perfectionism over being rushed like I'm in a factory. I've never felt rushed and always liked the end product. In fact, it's hard to feel rushed in a salon that just has 2 employees (I believe a 3rd is coming). Which leads to the size of the place. It's located in the Phenix Salon Suites above the Safeway on East-West Hwy. To access it, you'll have to drive up to the top garage floor and turn left. Since there's only space for 3 pedicure booths and 3 nail counters, you can never really feel crowded. However, due to the size, I would recommend calling ahead and making an appointment. They also offer complimentary beverages during your stay and nice neck massage after nail service. The customer service alone makes this a great experience. I look forward to my next appointment!

    Very cramped!

Place is very small, not much bigger than a bedroom. I had to climb over ppl to move around. I was shocked. Bad polish job. Will never go back.

Lisa and her team are amazing 1st time here and when I say I am so satisfied they do nails with love and perfection...

Amazing team this is my 1st time and where I say there are amazing Lisa and her team I am so happy

    After 2 weeks

I came here for the first time two weeks ago and it was a leap of faith. They had pretty good reviews so I thought why not? Location First of all the location was hard to find. Moreover, it was raining while I was searching for the place. I was able to call in however and receive directions as well. However, in order to help future customers, I made a somewhat tour video compilation for new clients and customers. 1. If you're walking, once you see the Safeway store, walk into Unleashed by Petco and ask for the elevator to the rooftop. If you're driving however and park in the garage, you'll notice an elevator against one of the walls of Petco. 2. Take the elevator to the 2nd floor. 3. Once you get off the elevator, you'll notice a wide open space. Turn right. 4. On your right you'll notice a sign board above the building saying 'Phenix Salon Suites'. You're at the right place. Simply walk into the complex. 5. You'll see blue water fall sign board saying 'Phenix Salon Suites', make another right. 6. Make the first left into the hallway 7. Continue to walk straight ahead until you come across Salon Suite 116. There you will see Lisa Nails. Service Review I got a pedicure + gel service and full set with acrylics. In total I paid $95. I truly believe the service is highly affordable and completely worth every penny compared to other services I've received. During my pedicure, I simultaneously received a massage from the massage chair. The gel polish application was neat and clean too. While getting my full set done, my technician kept asking me questions and trying things out on me to make sure that I was fine with all my color, shape, and design choices. It was a very pleasant experience overall and the staff was very friendly! I will say, make sure to book an appointment before hand. It is not a big space and waiting outside the suite room can be a bore. Asides that, definitely make sure to try them out if you can.

THE BEST PEDICURE IN THE DMV AREA!! I've searched so many salons for over 10 months and most of them just focus on the polish. The other salons you feel like they are rushing. Lisa Nails takes their time ! They really give you the foot spa experience. They took their time on shaping my toes, cuticles, hot towels, lotions, oils, the works. They provide water or wine if you would like. My spa lasted over an hour and it was worth it. Get the spa pedicure. You won't regret it. I'll be back in two weeks!

Not a horrible experience but most likely will not be going back. Was hard to find at first but you have to go inside the garage right by the Safeway entrance on East-West Hwy and there will be an elevator that takes you to the 2nd level garage at the top. Once you step out of the elevator, turn right and you'll see Phoenix suites which the salon is located in suite 116. Upon arriving for my appointment, there was a man and woman sitting in down consumed by their phones. I was the only customer in there at the time so not a big deal. However...I'm not sure if the guy that works there is the manager but he was not friendly at all to me. He was very nonchalant and yawning while still on his phone. He acted like he was not interested in providing any service to me. He just told me to go wash my hands and sit. A young woman which I unfortunately did not get her name ended up doing my nails. She was very sweet. Definitely the opposite of him. When I was almost finished with my nails I guess a regular of his came in and he suddenly became friendly and offered her a drink. I wasn't offered a darn thing, not even water. Anyways, my nails came out pretty good. The technician took about an 1hr. Definitely have had better customer service. Pricing is good but not significantly less than other nail salons. I would rather pay a few dollars more for better service to be honest.

My go to! I go just about every two weeks, and they somehow always have the appointment I need every time. My nails always look great, and the pedicures are TOP TIER. Sometimes I go short, or long or acrylic or just gel. Always get the spa gel pedicure it's worth the hour and change. Enjoy some of my favorites--really into glow in the dark nails lately for my hands and feet, so most of them are lol Go check them out!

Very friendly and quick!! Showed them a picture of what I wanted and they kept asking throughout the process if I liked how it was turning out. Not too expensive $45 for a gel full set. They even said if you don't like it, don't pay. Will be coming back here again. The only downside I could think of is that the place is very small and hard to find but I called them and they helped me find the entrance. 5/5 stars!

However, I do not know if I would bother coming back again due to a few reasons, but I would not try the same tech again. One, I noticed after the appointment that I had two cuts on separate cuticles from the tech trimming them back. Additionally, each of my cuticles were not given the same amount of attention. One particular finger stands out with the gap between the gel and my new growth being larger than the rest. I am aware that perhaps my nails grow unevenly, but I've gotten my nails done before and never had this issue so I think it's still worth noting. I also left the salon with unnoticed gel under my nail that I had to chisel off later. Lastly, at exactly the one week mark, the gel on one nail started lifting. That particularly upsets me because I'm worried about moisture and bacteria getting trapped so I had to remove the gel much sooner than anticipated. I work a desk job and genuinely don't do much with my hands so I am confident it wasn't anything I did. Overall, for $60, I expected better. I am honestly most disappointed because I was willing to support a salon with their values. Lastly, parking at the co-op is no longer free and hasn't been for at least a month. I wish their website would be updated.

I really liked the vibe of the salon and the fact that they use non-toxic materials. They also appear to treat their staff very well. However, they are a bit pricy for a gel+builder manicure but I was willing to bite the bullet on the price if the work matched the sticker price. Unfortunately it has not. I got my manicure on Friday late afternoon and by Sunday afternoon several of my nails are already chipped. There's no reason a gel manicure should be chipping/fading after 48 hours. I guess my search will continue.
