DO NOT....I repeat DO NOT go here. I went here because the wait at my usual salon was very long and I was in a time crunch and I am seriously regretting it. After just 2.5 weeks pretty much all of my acrylics have started to lift with 2 either falling off or coming close to it. The color selection was very underwhelming as well. Lastly and MOST importantly, I have had acrylic nails for over 7 years and this has never happened before and I am disgusted. I found fungus on TWO!! of my nail beds after going to this place. Can you say unsanitary and bad practice??? I would give this salon no stars if I could. My usual nail tech said it had to do with water getting trapped under the acrylic when applying. No matter the reason it's gross and unacceptable. I will never be returning. read more

Amazing salon! I have been coming here for years and my two most recent gel manicures were perfect! The darker pink on I got about 2 months ago lasted 5 weeks!! I showed my nail tech a picture of nails that I really liked and she mixed polishes for me to create the perfect color! The most recent one with the lighter pink was also great! I think fewer coats were applied so one nail has chipped after a week and a half but I am not careful at all so it's likely my mistake. I recommend calling ahead, literally any time before showing up, so that someone is ready for you. I do this every time and never have to wait. Definitely recommend! Decided to try Angelo's as my usual go-to spot down the street was packed full. Unfortunately I found Angelo's to be dirty in appearance, slow service and a subpar manicure. My manicure chipped the same night I had it done, I should have returned to have it repaired but wasn't too thrilled with the idea of coming back into this salon. Prices are about $1-2 higher than normal in the area as well, so I will seek other businesses in the future. read more

I had a great inexpensive pedicure here and will definitely be back. I usually go to mimosa in DuPont but wasn't going to be over that way. The place is small but I walked in on a Saturday with no issue. I thought my nail technician at Angelos was thorough, quick, and made my battered up feet look fantastic. I came here on a weekday in the afternoon since I had the day off of work. Only two people were in there so I was able to be seen right away. There was a nice selection of regular and gel polish to choose from. The water for my pedicure was nice and hot and the massage chair worked just fine. I would say this is a simpler, no-frills salon. No TV and only light music, but the service was friendly and very thorough! While I was there two more people came in that I could tell were regulars. It ended up storming pretty bad so I opted to stay and get a manicure as well. My technician did a really great job and made sure to ask how I liked my nails shaped and filed. It was suggested I pay before my fingers were painted so I didn't have to ruin my nails, which I appreciated. And when it was time for me to sit by the dryers there was no rush on getting me out of there. My nails look great and lasted a full week before starting to show some wear and tear (and I just chose regular polish!) I would definitely come back here again. read more

This is two days after and the manicurist painted over my cuticles so they will be peeling in no time. The salon was clean but cluttered and kind of empty. My friend and i came from brunch and got right in. We asked for just pedicures but i wound up getting both a mani and pedi. My friend wanted her nails done, she had to ask multiple times to get he fingers done and no one really answered her or made an attempt to do her nails. She also had to give her flip flops back and put on her shoes before her nails were dry. So we bought the flip flops for $3 and her toes were ruined. Not impressed. Won't be back. read more

DO NOT SUPPORT this RACIST business. I came in and got my nails done. After the nail tech finished, I realized I had left my wallet in my car and let the tech know that I needed to go grab it. The owner said that I needed to leave my purse in the salon which I did not feel comfortable, but that I could leave another item instead. I then proceeded to walk out of the salon and started to walk toward my car, the owner then comes out, and grabbed my glasses OFF OF MY FACE from behind me and grabbed my purse. Not trusting your customers is one thing, racially profiling me (a Black Woman) is another, but putting your hands on a human being and assaulting them, on a baseless assumption is a entirely different issue and crime. This incident which was supposed to be a relaxing part of my day ended up ruining my entire day. I will never be back. 100% do not recommend. read more

(Agreed that the name is Angelo Nails now.) I was another person who walked away from Eastern Market Nails and went over to Bebe/Angelo Nails. Is it fancy? No. Is it luxurious? No. Will you be able to walk-in and get a manicure and/or pedicure done quickly and decently? Yes. No frills, but it works. In terms of cleanliness, I would say that this is above average for a no frills salon. (No piles of magazines or crap sitting around.) And the employees are generally pleasant, above average for this kind of salon. Thus, this has become one of my go-to places. Agreed, it's a no-frills salon. But quite frankly, I'm really not here to sit back in my seat and admire the gold wall paper (white paint?) and chandeliers (neon lights?) Clearly, I don't remember much about what the place looked like, since I was busy chatting with my mom and occasionally her very friendly and inquisitive pedicurist. I don't need a chilled bottle of water or glass of red wine, and I'm really not worried about whether they've got the latest dryer technology. Whatever your frills may be, they don't have them. But what I DO pay attention to is what my nails look like when they're finished (fabulous) and how long they last (longer than any mani I'd ever had - I'm rough on my nails.) The polish stayed put and pretty for a full week plus a couple days before even one of them chipped, and that was barely. Maybe I got lucky, but in my book, that's saying something about the quality of the service rendered. They keep OPI and essi polishes in stock, though may have had another brand I'm not recalling. The employees were all very sweet. We walked in on a Tuesday afternoon around 4:30 and had about a 15-minute wait, which they predicted pretty accurately (I think they told us 20). When I immediately botched my thumb nail -- leave it to me -- the woman didn't give me any trouble but instead pleasantly removed the polish and started over with the primer, then visiting me again after she had her next customer settled in the chair for a quick two coats and top layer. The service and the price ($40 I think for the mani-pedi combo) will keep me coming back. read more

Since I was late to my appointment with Eastern Market Nails (they are sticklers for punctuality) I headed over to Bebe, reluctantly. I had been to Bebe several times before and never liked it because it was cash only and unclean. But since the "In Desperate Need of a Pedicure" award goes to yours truly, I had no choice. Service - I walk in, pick my color, and sit down immediately. It was 10am, after all. The pedicure was thorough and painless, and almost tickle-less. But the foot & leg massage was weak and bony. When I looked over to my neighbor, who had apparently fallen asleep because her massage was so good, I got pissed and jealous. Space - The store is less dingy and better ventilated than it used to be, but it's still not great. The best part: there was a cockroach on the drying station table. And my pedicurist saw it and just smiled. Sure, Bebe is sandwiched between several restaurants, but I didn't like the way she played it off. Full selection of Essie and OPI, and a few other neons from other lines. I walked in on a Monday afternoon, no line, no waiting. Everyone was very nice, asked all the right comfort questions. The tools were clearly well-sanitzed, all the linens were clean. Most importantly, the mani and pedi looked great. I was in and out in an hour, with drying time. Highly recommend! read more

I've been a regular for years but won't be coming back. They've hired new technicians and it's ridiculous to pay thirty dollars for a pedicure and get that kind of service/treatment. They really have made some poor hiring decisions. I'd never thought to try another place, since I was always quite happy with this one, but I definitely will the next time I need service. If you decide to go, venture there at an incredibly off-peak time and you might get one of the good remaining technicians. read more

Works in a pinch. It's much easier to get an appointment -- in fact you often don't need an appointment -- than at Eastern Market Nails. Quality of the work is just ok, and it varies among technicians, with some taking much more care than others. My usual place next door was booked and a person there recommend this place so maybe my experience was an isolated incident. Either way it was a mess from beginning to end. My pedicure didn't include any massaging or lotion. After I was done my toes looked like I had painted them myself. I had paint all over the skin and around the edges. On to my acrylic manicure. They had to redo this three times. The nails were shaped and angled weird with overly thick areas. I was getting cut with the buffer and it was just a complete disaster. They did redo my toes which looked nice at the end but that was only because a different person did them the second time. I'm hoping my guy was just in training and this is not a normal occurrence because THREE hours later and sore fingers I was still not satisfied. This place was not so clean. The technician that did my full set didn't seems to know what she was doing... it took waaaay longer than is typical. But that additional time certainly did not translate to a job well done/attention to detail. And she (nor the other people working there) didn't even seem to know what an American manicure was. Re the pedicure, the technician didn't even pretend to care how good of a job he did. And it certainly didn't last. The only reason the place gets two stars (as opposed to one) is because it is walking distance from my house. I was very much underwhelmed. This is indeed a no-frill nail salon but I have only had great experiences here. Like the massage chairs when you get a pedicure and the pedicures I get here last longer than anywhere else i have gotten them. I also get my eyebrows waxed here and they are the only people who were every able to do it well and were not afraid of a scar I have in one of my eyebrows. read more

I'm not sure if the name is right - I thought this was Angelo nails? - but the address is. I mainly go here for eyebrow waxes - they're average price ($12, I think?) but very very well done. I can never seem to tweeze my brows into any real shape, but every time I go here give me perfect arches. For mani's & pedi's, this place is your basic, no frills nail salon. I was surprised by the other comments on their cleanliness; they aren't worse than any other small nail place I've been to. If want them to use a foot razor you have to buy it and they store it there - tools aren't passed between people. Their manicures hold up well. I can't keep mine chip-less for more than a couple of days no matter where I have my nails done, but these guys seem about average. I've found their pedicures usually last for a week and half or two weeks. They give great foot / leg massage with the pedicure, too. read more

WORST manicure I've ever had. The person doing my nails literally painted all over my skin and cuticles. When she used the brush to take the polish off my skin, she only took it off the tops of my fingers, but left all the polish on my cuticles. It looks horrible. The top coat was not very good and it lasted about a day or two. Did not seem very clean. Weird vibe inside. Would DEFINITELY not go back ever. Go to Jolie in Alexandria on Mt. Totally underwhelmed. $28 manicure so you get what you pay for. Space is pretty dingy looking. I saw the tools being put into a cup of liquid but I certainly wouldn't consider that disinfected between clients and the two pedi receivers next to me were having the foot razor used on them which freaks me out. Nothing like skin flying all over the place and the potential for blood to be passed amongst tools. There was something squeezed onto a sponge when the tub was washed down but it was haphazardly at best. Not sanitized to me. I think I'll pay the extra $10 - $15 somewhere else and not wonder if I'm going to get some creepy crawly skin infection. read more

I live and work near this nail salon, and was never that impressed, but I was excited when finally found a good nail technician there to do my gel nail tips. I kept going back to her every two weeks for fills but the technician seemed annoyed and tired to have to do the fills because they "took to long." Despite having overcharged me and I still gave her a great tip for her work, she made me feel like she didn't want my business so I am on the hunt for a better more customer friendly salon. Angelo M Nail Salon, formerly Bebe Nails failed to complete the manicure and pedicure service requested. While performing my pedicure the staff member dipped her hands in a jar of lotion, rubbed my foot, then dipped again to do my other foot. Items used to scrub my feet were then cleaned in water that my feet soaked in. During the manicure my nails were cut with TOE NAIL clippers. Next she began clipping my cuticle's. While clipping my pinky finger a chunk of skin was removed and my finger began to bleed. I told her I was in pain and my finger was bleeding. She said its ok, that happens sometimes. As she tried to continue I refused. I asked to speak with the person in charge. The supervisor said that sometimes a chunk of skin is removed and you may begin to bleed especially if your cuticles are thin. Although I was stupid enough to stay after the first event with the lotion, I've now learned (the hard way) that I deserve better. Ladies please stay away!
