Messed up my eyebrows with no apology or any remorse when I said it was incorrect. Extremely rude. Super disappointed.

They double book they treat certain customers with favoritism and push others to the side. I was going here for about four months until I got the feeling that they didn't appreciate me as a customer and also my nails kept breaking every time I got my nails done even my pedicure and I don't wear fake nails. read more

I really love this salon. They are so nice and they do such a good, careful, gentle job on your nails. Sometimes it seems that they overbook a bit, but I think it's because it's so popular and people love them. read more

I went today to get my nails done. I didn't realized how terrible the quality of the job was until I arrived home. Washed my hands and they burned. Meaning, I have cuts! I normally get a dip in style nails. This time, I wanted to let my nails get some rest and only wanted to get the dip removed, my cuticles cleaned, my nail beds puffed and have a shiny natural color on it, in summary, just a regular manicure and this was the result! I only needed to have removed the remaining of my dip manicure, and the lady did a horrible rushed job. She failed to remove all the cuticles, cut me in the process and did not even out the nail beds. She rushed to finish my manicure, a regular manicure no less. Horrible job. read more

Walked in for a simple manicure on a Saturday ($25). There weren't many colors to pick from and it was a little toasty inside. But Yen did an amazing job! I'm happy with my nails and would see Yen again! read more

Whereas I recognize that not everyone is expected to arrive in every space I had thought that in 2023 a man can arrive in a nail salon, asking for a pedicure without the staff literally reenacting a Seinfeld episode. Quite honestly, I don't even think they were attempting to hide the fact that they were talking about me as they literally, in unison, looked at me, turned to one another and giggled. In spite of all of this, I decided to go forward with a simple pedicure that was mysteriously completed before the pedicures of the two women who had been sitting in the chairs prior to my arrival. When the technician told me he was finished I asked for additional service because I wasn't satisfied with the quality of the pedicure. I received the heavy sigh, followed by , heavily stomping feet walking to the supplies needed, another whispered comment under her breath, followed by her colleague laughing at hearing the comment. At this point, I decided to cut my losses and leave because I wasn't being taken seriously as a customer and my business was not being valued. In summary, if you are an upper Northwest, Washington DC, white woman, then I am sure will have the time of your life here. Anyone else need not apply. Disrespectful staff and lackluster service. read more

My go-to salon for manicure and pedicures. Excellent work, great attention to hygiene, courteous and skilled technicians. I found the place when I lived in the neighborhood. Since then I've moved but I still take the two metros needed to get back there. Katie, in particular, has been my regular tech, and she's been terrific. I highly recommend the place. read more

I was surprised the place was empty on a Sunday. It's a no thrills salon that I went to with a friend. We got pedicures but the water was cold, I mentioned this, but then it was only adjusted to lukewarm. Every time the nail tech reached into my water she put my foot on her breast, very awkward. I didn't feel my feet were scrubbed very hard. She kind of argued with me to cut my toenails when they were already short because I cut them a few days ago. I like for my nails to be flush with the end of the toe, but it seemed she wanted my nail to be shorter than my toe. In which case why would I paint my nails if they were that short? It wouldn't look nice. The ladies there were nice. They don't allows tips on your card which is inconvenient. read more

I left with cuts on my fingers and bubbling in my nails. I will not return to this salon

I was a bit hesitant after reading some reviews, but I walked in for a gel manicure on a Friday afternoon and had a great experience. Iris shaped my nails just how I wanted, and even fixed one of my nails that was splitting. There's a tiny blemish on one of my nails, but only because I bumped the gel light while my nails were drying. The salon itself was quiet and comfortable. I'd definitely come back! read more

Katie and Jessie (new owners) are the best! I've been getting my nails done by Katie for two years now at her previous salon and can say 100% she is the best nail tech out there. Now that they have taken over Lavish salon, I am so happy to be there! It is so clean and modern and the staff are all so friendly. Katie can do any design I bring in no matter how complicated. They have everything from acrylic, gel x to dip. Katie always remembers my colors and helps me find the best color. I definitely recommend them and cannot say more about these amazing business owners and nail artists! read more

I really want to like this place because it is so close to my house, but I have gotten two terrible SNS manicures twice in a row. The first time I was a walk in but the second time I asked for the person best with SNS. At Gloss Bar in Shaw and Enchanted in Adams Morgan they have a 2-3 week guarantee. Both $50 SNS manicures lasted not even a week. They also dont do the hand or arm massage at the end. read more

After coming here for almost a year, I'm surprised I haven't reviewed Lavish Nail Spa yet! I have had consistently great acrylic and gel sets from almost each of the techs, and I have also been satisfied with almost every eyebrow wax (make sure you speak up and tell them exactly what you want). Every tech is very kind, and they don't seem upset when you're picky or smudge your polish. One time, all I wanted was one nail re-done in gel two weeks after getting them, and the tech went beyond that and touched up each finger for free. And to top it off, the techs LOVE when you pay them with Venmo, and that makes everyone's life easier. You will not regret making this place your new go-to nail salon. read more

I came to Lavish Nail Spa through Groupon. I purchased a deal for a gel manicure with paraffin wax. I also got a pedicure there and my eyebrows done, too. All three services were good experiences. Pia was my nail technician and she also did my eyebrows. She took her time in working with me and I loved how it was not rushed at all (I was in the salon for nearly two hours). I felt pampered even though I was only getting their standard pedicure. She still used hot stones with me and that was my first time ever experiencing it- it felt sooo good! My toenails were cut and filed to a good length and the nail polish was applied beautifully. The gel manicure was nice, too, but she did cause me to bleed when she was cutting my cuticles on my right pinky. I hadn't even noticed until she repeatedly apologized and I looked down and noticed I was bleeding a little bit. That is the only reason why I deducted a star. I think if I would've received some sort of discount for being cut, I would've rated it 5 stars but unfortunately that was not the case. At any rate, I'd still go back and I'd still give Pia another try. She was very kind and my nails look great. read more

Best pedicure EVER! Very clean, very prompt, very careful to listen! My daughter and I were very pleased, and there was a gentleman having a pedicure while we were there! read more

I recently had a pedicure with Jesse and she was terrific. Very efficient and thorough. I'll return.

I got a French tip gel manicure, total was $48. Way too much. ADDITIONALLY, while my nails looked very cute, they were over drilled and weak. The next day the gel chipped (mind you because they were weak I was extra careful and I am not rough with my hands). So I went back and got it fixed. THE NEXT DAY AFTER THAT, two more nails (gel) chipped and one nail chipped so bad that it ripped my nail. I had to go back again (3rd time in 4 days) to get those fixed. It's a great thing they didn't charge me to get it fixed... however, I have never ever experience a gel manicure like this before. I really don't recommend going to nail salons like this for a manicure (pedicure ONLY), because these are "assembly line" salons and only care about making as much $ as possibly in a Short amount of time. read more

My nails started to bubble in multiple places two days after my "spa" manicure. The service area was not clean - stray hairs were on the hot stone during the hand massage and the towels were soiled and stained. I was charged ten dollars more than the price posted on the salon's website for a spa manicure. I do not recommend this establishment. read more

Got a powder dip manicure and at the end one of my nails was super rough and unfinished. The tech had left and after 15 minutes I was able to get someone to get her to come out to fix it. I then noticed the next day that my left thumb nail was not smooth and shiny. Powder dip manicure lasted a full three weeks which was great. However the manicure itself took forever. My friend joined me in hopes of getting a pedicure but they just kept saying it would be a few more minutes until we had to just head out. read more

I came in for an SNS fill and pedicure last night. Prior to my arrival, i called lavish nails to make an appointment and specify which services I wanted, specifically a fill and not an SNS full set. I believe heather was my manicurist's name. Upon my arrival, heather wrapped my nails in acetone cotton swabs. I picked an SNS color and specifically asked the gentleman manning the registers if the color I had chosen was too light for a full, he assured me it wasn't. Once my pedicure was complete heather began to file my nails and removed all of the tips and SNS already on my nails. I tried to tell her to stop but she didn't understand. I spoke once again with the man upfront who told me she would leave the rest of the tips and they wouldn't charge me for a full set. Despite this, heather continues to remove all of the tips, leaving large patches of SNS on the nail bed. She then haphazardly glued tips on (many of which were not the right size, and dipped each nail straight into the SNS colored powder with no base. Once she finished the powder, it was apparent it was not done correctly. SNS powder was stuck all over the cuticle and finger tips, and the SNS powder on the nail itself was uneven with large dips throughout. She filed them down exceptionally thin and threw a top coat on. In addition to looking terrible, as of this morning two of the nails have broken and the nails are beginning to warp. I've written the salon to ask for a refund of the services and have yet to hear back. read more

Love, love, love this nail salon. Just in case it isn't clear how much I love Lavish Nail Spa, I'll tell you this: I live on the opposite side of D.C. yet I keep going back. I have never made a reservation, but every time I go, they seat me immediately. The staff is extremely nice and polite. I always get SNS nails done, and they must have at least 100 colors to choose from. They are perfectionists and are careful when dealing with your nails, yet they're fast and focused. The place is always clean and spotless, the price is good ($45 for SNS nails) and my nails last at least three weeks. I have been going to Lavish Nails Spa for almost a year now, and couldn't be happier with my nails! read more

Thw fact is: The salon is open until 7:00. When I arrived at 6:30 there were three customers and three technician in shop. I was told I needed to have my manicure and pedicure done simultaneously. That meant a bowl full of water needed to be placed on my lap and the job needed to be rushed. After expressing my dissatisfaction with this arrangement I was invited to leave. It was suggested I come back the next day. I explains that I was there because I was unable to come back. Despite how uncomfortable I was, I decided to go along. I was initially set up with a cold foot bath. At my request she added hot water. Then the tech decided to throw my feet every which way and cut me because she was moving so fast. The pedicure was Turing into a huge disaster. I asked how did she expect me to be OK with such horrible service. she reminded me she had to rush out because her boyfriend was waiting for her in the car for the past 45 mins. Then another tech chimed in and both of them began to speak to me like I was less than. I asked if they were treating me this way because I was black. They said I was causing drama. I am wondering how they speak to the clients that come in when the boss is there? After she said I was bringing drama and I should not expect to get a traditional mani pedi at 6:30. I knew I needed to leave. I don't even think it is legal for them to put a Bowl of water on your lap while you having a pedicure. I will reach out to the owner since my last visit was very different. The proper procedures were not being followed. She wanted to leave early and took dangerous risks while using a sharp tool on my toes. Why say the hours are until 7:00 when the technicians are practically throwing customers out when the services they are being paid to provide are an inconvenience to their personal departure schedules. Can someone tell me where I can go to get a sanitary pedicure and be treated with dignity? read more
