I got a great shape and didn't think it hurt too much. I didn't love the chin...my skin was a little too sensitive there for some reason. It wasn't horrible, but I'd probably do waxing next time for that. Then i did sugaring for my legs and brazilian. It hurts a little but not much. Definitely doesn't hurt as much as waxing. So after reading the reviews for Ritual and following them on social for a few months, I decided to book at appointment for a peel with Victoria. The business suite is located within a much bigger building and upon getting off the elevator on the 8th floor, it was clear to me that many of the surrounding suites include other medical professionals. Upon entry, you'll notice the clinic is pristine and elegant, while also feeling warm and welcoming. Cayla, the patient coordinator at the check-in desk was bubbly and genuine - as a first time visitor, that initial impression means a lot. No pretense, no standoffishness - just a desire to help you to get settled in. I was then taken to the waiting area which was also clean and comfortable, with a few refreshments that are available for guests. Luckily for me, I was only in there for a few minutes before Victoria came to get me. We took a few pics and then headed into the room for my appointment. The room felt very much like a room you may be in for a doctor's appointment - very sterile, bright lights - which of course is a good sign. I then chatted with Victoria about my concerns and needs. She was a great listener as well as a proactive communicator, always educating me as she made suggestions or talked with me about options. It's evident that her top concern is the patient's health and well-being first and foremost, which then guides her recommendations. With the additional knowledge and context she provides, it's impossible not to feel well taken care of, in the hands of a responsible and professional provider. I was also very appreciative of her care and awareness of what treatments would be best for my type of skin, educating me about the Fitzpatrick scale (which I had taken time to educate myself briefly about on my own, but had never had a provider articulate with such mindfulness.) She also was able to balance that professionalism with warmth - which is a rare combination to find. Her ability to make you feel comfortable seems to come naturally and really makes the whole experience not only impactful but enjoyable. It's also evident that she carries a wealth of knowledge and is confident about that (without being condescending.) Overall, very impressed with the business and grateful for Victoria's care. Will definitely be returning in the near future to explore other treatments that will be good investments in my overall skin health and integrity.

I showed her my past applications that were my absolute favorite as well and sharing with her the overall look I was going for. She understood the assignment immediately and nailed in on the first time. When I came back the second time I just wanted as very slight modification, and once again she executed it perfectly. (And she is so lovely!) Additionally, my lashes seem to stay on some much longer. Although I typically do a two week fill, my two week mark usually still looks so fresh and so good! I have been to Sugar Baby in Georgetown 3 times now. Twice for a Brazilian and once now for Duchess brow shaping. Akeya: She is beyond professional. Very sweet, calming and knowledgeable about her craft and everything that she does. She provides tips and practices to clients for when they leave the salon and how to properly maintain in between appointments. Brazilian: My first trip was a bit more painful because i had not waxed or shaved in eons, however wasn't as painful as I thought it could be. I signed up for the rewards program and went back promptly in 4 weeks. Once I returned it was completely painless and took approximately 25 minutes. Perfect lunchtime appointment. I absolutely love the results as does my boyfriend. Eyebrows: I have been doing my brows myself for quite some time but no longer wanted to do so. I admire Akeya's brows and figured she could do the same thing for me and she did. We briefly discussed how I want my brows shaped and she thoroughly explained it was going to take time to get them to where I'd like them to be but we'd begin working now. I absolutely love the results and know that I will be coming back to her to get my brows groomed. As a freelance makeup artist my eyebrows are very important to me and I trust Akeya with my brows. Waxing down there sucks! I have been to other places before and it's never been worth it so much that I've made another appointment with other places. Sugar Baby Wax is the first wax I've gotten where I've made my second appointment because the results were so good! Akeya was great! Super professional and personal, definitely helped keep my mind of the pain. I was worried that it wasn't going to look as good as it does because she said the hair needed to be a little longer. On the contrary, it was amazing. Super clean. There is still pain (I have a low pain tolerance, so I want to know what drug these other women who say much less pain are taking before their appointment lol). Look no further Sugar Baby Wax is the place to go!! Reviews helped me choose this place and they did not disappoint. As soon as you walk in the lounge, it has a very zen, calm feeling and I knew I made the right choice. The actual room was very clean, nice ambience, relaxing music playing. Akeya was awesome, she made it comfortable and did a great job. This is my 2nd brazilian wax. My 1st was @ Ceasars in Las Vegas, it felt like it took a lifetime and was painful. This time around was the complete opposite, it was fast and painless, thanks to their awesome wax. It was my first time getting a Brazilian done, so I have nothing to compare it to, but I believe it was a good experience. The atmosphere was wonderful and my esthetician was very sweet! I am taking away a star because I had wanted to book an eyebrow wax as well so I tried calling before hand to see if I could (couldn't book online because the GW WiFi was out the day of and night before), but nobody ever answered their phone. Being a man Brazilian waxing is a bit more difficult and it takes a true expert in the art of wax to make it tolerable and better comfortable. Akeye at Sugar Baby Wax definitely knows her art and whatever the mixture of waxes is they use. They are second to none. I have been to seven different salons from CA to AZ to UT to NY to FL. But they also book out quickly, so plan ahead because it's hard to get an appointment at the last minute. She is extremely skilled - I'm never uncomfortable for more than10-15 minutes after the wax (which says a lot, since I have very sensitive skin) and redness clears within a few hours. The owner and Master Esthetician Christina is an amazing lady who takes pride in her work! I love that she is thoughtful and explains the process before she continues with each service. Christina has so much experience and knowledge in this field that I trust her recommendations and judgments during my services. It was also seamless using the Vagaro app to book appointments with Christina and email/text updates to prepare for the appointment! Located in the Capitol Hill area of DC, this cute studio is on the Lower Level Pennsylvania Ave building. It can be a lite tricky to access and Christina provides thorough information with pictures to enter her studio. The studio is decorated with white/gold accents and displays the niche products she uses for her services. Services: -Brow Lamination/Sculpt/Tint: this was my first time getting my eyebrows laminated, sculpted, and tinted. I was a little nervous about my appointment and Christina made my experience comfortable. For any new clients you have to fill out paperwork and then there is a quick consult where Christina asks for your preference and expectations. Then you walk into the studio room where you lay on the spa table. The pillows for my head and legs were so comfortable I wanted to fall asleep lol Christina first cleaned my brows and then mapped my brow shape from my facial structure and alignment. Christina meticulously maps out my brow shape with her ruler and sketches this out. She explained the reasons for how she shaped my brows and provides a mirror for me to confirm the shape. After she cleaned up my brows and processed/structured my brows the last step was tinting my brows. Christina gave me an ombré tint to match my hair color. I loved the look of my brows and the knowledge Christina shared with me during our sessions! She's so personable and detail oriented that made me feel so comfortable to explore more sessions like her facials the next time. In the end, I received an aftercare bag with cotton pads, spoolies, brow oil, and aftercare instructions. I cannot wait to come back for another brow session and maybe add a facial as well!
