Full set immediately after leaving the salon.
    Jen J.

I really wanted to like this place based on the reviews, but they were misleading. My acrylic full set was sloppily done and Lisa was not attentive to detail. I had to ask her to fix my nails multiple times. She did fix it, but with complaints. The length of time my pedicure and fully set took was inconvenient - over 2. The $5 difference in price when, compared to other salons, is not worth it. I would not go back nor recommend this place.

These were a week old at the time. My nails have grown since then as I return for another gel mani about every 3 weeks

My cuticles have seen the light! I started going here a few months ago for gel mani + pedi. I'm very particular about what actually qualifies as a good nail service, meaning I'm less about colors and bubbles and more about filing, shaping and smoothing rough patches of the hands and feet. In DC I find myself spending a lot of money on glorified foot-baths and "extra for callus remover" But at King they honestly care about making sure that they don't miss a thing! Ive had nothing but amazing long lasting no chip gel mani's and soft to the touch pedicures ready for summer sandal season. They have a decent selection of Gel polish. Not a place for immaculate gel art but you can get some unique colors. They've done an accent glitter nail for me before, I had a cool semi-marbleized effect and my friend had a really cool color changing polish recently! Btw this is all at no extra cost! I mean when I say they pay attention to detail! It's great considering outcome and price but you definitely have to be patient. They go as fast as they can but they do not rush and if you try to rush out they'll suggest that you better sit and let dry lol I only try to go there early mornings during the week. It's a small very tight spot 2-3 of them working at a time. You may find them trying to attend to multiple people at the same time but it's worth it if you have the time.

Good prices and decent work. If you're getting a mani-pedi, you will spend at least 2 hours here.

I had to go back the next day but I realized there was still one nail where the top coat didn't cover all of the nail. That meant the sticker was jutting out a bit and irritating my skin. The nail artist is pretty decent with simple art and with most sticker application. I had wanted it all to be nail art and for them to tell me they couldn't do 3D nails. There is at least one sticker on each nail. Also I had to coax her to not give up but she was insistent on simply stickering every nail to make it go faster. The pedi was alright and pretty painless. The nail artist just missed a spot of paint and accidentally got a dot of red paint on the right big toe. I think about 2.5 hours was spent in total during the first visit and less than 10 minutes fixing the issues with the nails in the next visit.

My toes I feel like are simple- scrub, cut the dead, then paint. I don't know what it was but like yall I do not like the paint job. It looks like there was maybe too much polish on the brush so it's kinda bulky towards the root of the toe. Like this thick polish. I looked down when she was done and immediately was like wait why my feet look like that? The paint job is just idk, sloppy. Idk I just didn't like it. I mentioned it and she was super super nice and like buffed them and painted on top but fr probably shoulda been taken OFF and redone. I told her I know the polish is gonna start chipping because it's too thick... and even when she tried to buff and redo I knew the job should have been started over. I just didn't have the time or patience and it's intro to the summer so they see done enough for my flip flops and maybe it's just that stylist and not the salon but it was my first time and never going back. But! They do serve some wine and even though I think my tech was questioning my age for way too long bc I guess ASKED for the wine and maybe seemed to young and pressed but I mean no one offered so yeah... Good massage chairs, they have "happy hour" prices where they knock some dollars off. Like my service was solid but I truly just don't like the pedicure I received and I don't feel like my standards are high lol. Three days into my pedicure per my estimate the toenails started peeling and looking a hot messssss.

I originally came in for a pedicure and a full set, but I ended up not getting the full set I'll explain why. When I sat down, I was never asked if I wanted a drink, while other white customers around me were. I was also not given a menu to choose the type of pedicure I wanted. That immediately rubbed me the wrong way treat everyone the same. I asked for square nails and told her multiple times not to round them, yet she continued to do so anyway. I requested French toes with a soft pink base and black tips, but she acted like she couldn't find the colors. At that point, I told her to just do solid black to keep it moving. When we went to her nail station, I showed her the reference for the full set pink acrylic with a black French tip. She tried to tell me it wasn't possible and claimed she only had gel polish. I had to pull up a TikTok and show her, and suddenly she understood exactly what I meant. By then, I already knew my nails were about to be messed up, so I told her to just do a manicure instead. I paid over $100, and my polish is already peeling off. On top of that, the tools do not appear to be properly disinfected, which is unacceptable. I am a board-certified esthetician, and this experience was extremely unprofessional. Connie was careless, and this salon overall was a huge disappointment. I will not be returning. So pissed my gel polish is already coming off..

I went in for a basic mani & French pedi. Now for those that get French - we know it's a specialized service (meaning they upcharge for it). A specialized service needs a specialist. While the nail tech was polite and tried her best, you could tell that wasn't her speciality and with the language barrier it was hard communicating exactly what was needed. Plus I think techs today put more effort into those that get gel/acrylic etc over basic/natural which is disappointing. She asked me if I wanted my toes cut down (I said yes) but she ended up filing them so they were still long. The towels are pretty dingy and they dry your feet with the same towel they work on, cuticle clean up was great but the leg massage was way too much pressure. I asked for bubble bath nail color but they gave me a purple equivalent & I had to ask for a 2nd coat. The white lines aren't crispy, & while I appreciate her trying to emulate the look I had when I came in, I think it would've been better if she just did her own thing. The manicure was standard, she skipped a few nails and had to go back. I asked for square square all around (hands & feet) but ended up with round square. Again, she was sweet & polite but for $78 - it wasn't worth the experience, especially not the French because my toe nails are still long so you can barely see the white tips and the color gives more of a purple than pink

Meticulous, precise, clean, patient, hospitable. I have absolutely zero complaints about this place. I wanted gel x, a cat eye look and my nails were done beautifully.
